With claims of being an ex-CIA assassin, her father painted a complex portrait of their family's history. Both Madison and her twin sister spent the initial six weeks of their lives in the hospital due to premature birth. Upon delving into her past, Madison uncovered a web of occult, military, and CIA ties within her family, tracing back through generations to her Freemason great-grandfather. This legacy of darkness included abuse that began when she was just four years old, perpetrated by her father and one of his business partners, Tim Glass, under the guise of their company, Cyber Slice.Cyber Slice, while innovative in the food industry, served a sinister purpose under her father's control. His frequent travels for work, serving clients like Bill Gates, were a cover for his abusive nature. He oscillated between playfulness and violence, using joy to mask his monstrous acts. His manipulations extended to forcing Madison and her sister into sexual acts, recordings of which were used to draw other predators to the Cyber Slice platform. Here, 'pizza' was not just a food item but a code word for young girls, a chilling revelation backed by FBI documentation. The concept of Cyber Slice was inspired by the film 'The Net', leading to an ironic twist where Steve Jobs, during his time away from Apple, was the first to order pizza online through this service, participating in its early development.Madison's memories of this harrowing childhood began to resurface at 14, igniting her quest for truth and healing. Despite presenting substantial evidence, she has faced resistance from the FBI, police, and CPS in her fight for her 12-year-old brother's custody. In today's episode, we're not only celebrating the launch of Madison's new album and her musical journey but also diving into the challenges of being a whistleblower. Madison will share insights on the recent smear campaigns aimed at discrediting her and the disheartening efforts to silence her voice. She'll discuss her healing process, how she navigates the aftermath of her experiences, and much more.STREAM AND LISTEN TO MADISON'S NEW ALBUM: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3tkM0Vi3MFdKZGnz7GXdy9?si=z-hKwKjISYWzOCAqpK9a9QCONNECT WITH MADISON: TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@madisonclaresmusicIG: https://www.instagram.com/madisonclares.music/X / Twitter: https://x.com/madisonclaresCONNECT WITH THE IMAGINATION:EMAIL: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.com OR standbysurvivors@protonmail.comMy Substack: https://emmakatherine.substack.com/BUY ME A COFFEE: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/theimaginationSupport the show

Madison discovered through her investigations since waking up to her abuse that her family line is laden with occult, military and CIA influences and connections, and that the oddities and abuse in Madison's family date back at least a few generations - tracing back to her great grandfather who was a Freemason and trickling down the family line to her and her twin sister. Madison recalls her abuse starting as early as age 4 where she can remember memories of her father and his business partner, Tim Glass, in their joint company called Pizza Slice having her strip naked while they sexually molested and abused her. Cyber Slice was the first online pizza delivery service and Madison's father would often be absent from home on business trips, catering to high-end clientele like his biggest client, Bill Gates. Madison recalls how it was interesting how her father could go from being playful to violent so quickly. When he'd assault her, he always did it with so much joy that sometimes Madison would forget that he was a monster - although her father was not a joyful person. Her father would also force her and her sister to do sexual acts to each other and he would record and use those recordings to lure in other predators to Cyber Slice. He would offer free videos and photos of Madison and her sister in exchange for them using the Cyber Slice platform. His platform was for online pizza ordering but - as Madison discovered: ‘pizza' was actually her father's code word for little girls - and is a proven code word for little girls according to the FBI.And the rabbit hole goes even deeper: Inspiration for Cyber Slice began with a movie called ‘The Net' starring Sandra Bullock, and in an interesting chain of events, Apple Inc Founder, Steve Jobs, was the first person to place an order for online pizza using CyberSlice's online platform after helping develop the app during a brief hiatus from Apple in the late 1980's through the early 1990's. Madison's repressed memories of her abusive childhood began surfacing around the age of 14 and ever since, she has been working on putting together the pieces of the mysterious events of her life that flew under the radar of her and her siblings as children. Madison hopes that going public with her story will help her to get custody of her 12 year old brother as the FBI, police, and CPS have been useless despite the evidence Madison has presented. Madison also hopes her testimony and public disclosure helps other survivors to come forward, helps shed a light on what's going on in our world right now, and helps brings justice to all of the victims.Rife Technologies: Rife Technology – Real Rife Technology15% Code: 420CZTL Methylene Blue: Buy ultra high purity Methylene Blue – CZTLFree Shipping Code: IMAGSupport the show

This week Kelly is joined with Madison Clares, a true warrior who is fighting for justice. Her father Bryan Cupps designed CyberSlice which was the first ever online pizza ordering website back in the 90s. It was allegedly covertly used to traffic children for elites. Madison herself was also a victim of abuse and trafficking, and she is here to share her story, her truth.Follow Madison on X:https://x.com/madisonclaresSign her Change.org PetitionWatch this episode on YouTubeFollow Kelly:https://kellydillon.com/https://www.instagram.com/kelldillon/https://www.facebook.com/kellydillontv/https://twitter.com/kelly_dillonhttp://tiktok.com/@kelldillonThe truth will truly set us free.
This week we're celebrating our 200th podcast episode by taking you through our Top Twelve podcasts – the episodes which have had the most downloads since we started the podcast back in 2020 There's a clip from each podcast as well as the link to the whole episode Or if you're really organised you can even make them into a playlist! Numbers 10,11 & 12 So coming in with 2,200 downloads each is a trio of ladies who've taught our Tribe so much about how our brains work… Author Dr Loretta Breuning, Neuroscientist Staci Danford and Stanford Psychiatrist Dr Anne Lembke It's important to remember that we are wired for survival rather than happiness and our default state is one of anxiety as we are on the look out for threats.. However once we understand how to trigger our happy brain chemicals we can structure our days to ensure that we get a regular dopamine hit to lift our mood So let's start with Dr Loretta Breuning who helped me unpack the cause of my own “early sobriety blues” Have a listen to the first interview I did with her which was in August 2021 Loretta also did an interview with me very recently to talk about her new book which is called Why Youre Unhappy – that came out on January 20th this year. The next lady in our trio is neuroscientist Staci Danford who taught us about our Lizard brain and how we need to manage it… she even recommended we give it a name.. she calls hers Ernie! That interview came out in August 2021 Here is a link to that episode The third of our trio is Stanford Psychiatrist Anna Lembke who's written a top selling book called Dopamine Nation It's an awesome book which I highly recommend if you are interested in the science of addiction – her explanation of the Pain/Pleasure balance is superb That episode is called Why we get Addicted and came out in November 2023 Here is the link Moving away from neuroscience to number 9 in our Top Twelve In that spot we have Sobriety Coach Lori Massicot – Lori is the host of a podcast called 50 and beyond and like me is convinced that ditching the booze is one of the very best things we can do for ourselves as we get older Her episode is called Why we need to ditch the drink in mid life and came out in December 2021 Here is the link I also did a fun episode with Lori recently when we listed the 15 Signs that you need to take a Break from Booze – signs that Lori and I ignored for far too long! That one was released on January 27th this year Next up we have Melissa Witherspoon – she's the author of a touching memoir called I'm Sober…So Now What? Melissa has relapsed several times and has some invaluable insights into the various stages of relapse She observed that there are 3 stages of relapse Stage 1 is emotional relapse – not even thinking about drinking yet but observing the triggers that seem to be getting more frequent Stay in Stage 1 long enough without taking action and you may move to Stage 2 which is the mental relapse when you start to feel uncomfortable in your skin – and skip activities like connecting with your sober tribe and sticking to your exercise routine – all things that relieve triggers Stay in Stage 2 long enough and you may move to Stage 3 which is physical relapse when you are back in active addiction The advantage of knowing about these 3 stages are that you can keep your radar sharp for Relapse Warning Signs – all different for different people but you need to be able to pick up if you are feeling a bit “off” as Melissa puts it – keeping a journal is a great way of monitoring your emotions For Melissa it shows up in a lack of self care – if she starts neglecting things like her hair washing routine she will see it as a warning sign and tune in to what's going on.. Learn more from Melissa by listening to the episode which came out on September 2022 and is called Relapse Warning Signs Here is the link So from the three stages of relapse we go to the 4 stages of alcoholism – a very moving share from Tribe member Vanessa Hilton Barber Vanessa divides her drinking career into phases:- the Fun phase (15-19) the Social phase (19-30) the Fairly Desperate phase (30-39) the I Need to Quit phase (39 onwards) This pattern fits pretty well with Ken Middletons theory that 20 years of regular drinking will result in alcohol dependence Here's a link to that episode Now we're up to our Top Six and at number 6 with 2.3 downloads is the brilliant William Porter William is a lawyer with a passion for the science behind alcohol dependence and has written 2 books Alcohol Explained and Alcohol Explained 2 They're both essential reading and I think the more we understand the damage that alcohol does to our bodies and brains the less likely we are to want to drink it! His episode is called Why we Get Hangxiety and came out in July 2021 Here's the link Next up is another lovely chap who suggests that we identify ourselves as a non drinker…. From Day One He's called Nigel Jones and is the author of a book called Walking Back to Happiness Nigel's professional background is in marketing and PR so he has a deep understanding of the power of messaging and the effect it has on our subconscious mind. As he says we are in effect being “groomed” by the liquor industry to be loyal and lifelong consumers. That episode came out in Jan 2023 called How to be a non drinker Here's the link Next up is author of the Sober Diaries – a book that has helped so many people ditch the shame and quit drinking. Claire Pooley was a mom of 3 young children when her drinking was at its worst – she was going through 10 bottles of wine a week and knew it had to stop Clare Pooley is a great example of someone who ditched the booze and made her dreams come true She'd always wanted to be a novelist – when she quit drinking she finally had the time and energy to write – the Sober Diaries got her noticed and she was promptly signed by a top publisher to write 3 novels The Authenticity Project was her first and her second book has the inspiring title of How to Age Disgracefully – it will be out in June this year. Have a listen to Clares episode which came out in April 2021 – its called How I Ditched the Drink Here's the link I love her life hack of going to bed early, getting up early to cook and freeze the evening meal That's how she avoiding guzzling a bottle of wine as she cooked in the evening! Now its time for the top 3 Coming in at number 3 with 2,500 downloads is the fabulous Ken Middleton – he's the author of Bamboozled which has the awesome subtitle of How Alcohol Makes Fools of us All! Do grab a copy if you haven't yet read it – a brilliant description of how we've been manipulated by Big Alcohol for decades I often quote Ken who says “even if alcohol doesn't destroy us it will limit our potential” and in fact his latest Tribe Sober episode is called “How Alcohol Limits your Potential” – that one was released in April 2023 Here's the link Ken was also one of our guests back in November 2020 when he shared his own story and explained the science behind alcohol dependence – and why drinking regularly for 20 years means you're very likely to develop a “problem” Next up at number 2 is me! With our very first podcast episode which was released in May 2020 to celebrate my 5th Soberversary Here is the link And finally hogging the number 1 slot with an incredible 3,300 downloads is Australian Sobriety Coach Kathryn Elliott It's called How to Stop Binge Drinking and came out in June 2022 Here is the link Like me Kathryn has had breast cancer which prompted us to do an episode together recently Neither of us realised that our heavy drinking was putting us at risk of breast cancer so we celebrated breast cancer awareness month by having a conversation about it.. Spreading the word that more than 3 glasses of wine A WEEK increased your risk of breast cancer We called it Drink Less for your Breasts and it was released in October 2023 So that's our Top Twelve A big thank you to all our listeners – thanks to you the Tribe Sober podcast has had more than 300,000 downloads which keeps its global ranking in the top 2% of all podcasts Most importantly more than 20% of our members found their way to us via the podcast More Info Subscription membership – you can join up HERE. Please enter into the life's story 0f St. Clare's life by listening to one of the best storytellers we know...Sr. Joan Mueller. She is enthralling!!! St. Clare of Assisi was co-foundress of the Order of Poor Ladies or Clares and the first Abbess of San Damiano; born at Assisi, 16 July 1194; died there 11 August 1253. I can't even begin to describe the effect St. Clare has had on my life. My relationship with her goes so deep that any words I could come up with would not honor her as I wish I could. I should share this little story of my own. In 2007, I had a chance to visit Assisi...I just wanted to be near St. Clare. I didn't plan it, but my hotel ended up being right across the street from St. Clare's Basilica (it seems wrong to call it a street, its width is so small). Really early one morning, I couldn't sleep, so I got up and began walking around outside of the Basilica. No one was out; all the shops closed, the sun was coming up. On a whim, I thought I would see if the church's doors were open (thinking to myself, of course, they wouldn't be), but to my surprise, they opened. So I entered. No one was around. I saw steps leading down to a lower level. I stepped over the rope blocking the entrance (boorish American that I am) and walked down. The path led down to an area with a display of relics, like clothing and other items (I assumed they were Clare's), and then I turned around and saw something incredible...the crypt of St. Clare. It stopped me in my tracks, so much so that I had to remind myself to breathe again. I quietly walked over to the enclosure grates that blocked off getting any closer. I knelt, and I just started to weep...I couldn't help it. It was so quiet; it was such a gift. I began to pray. I brought to St. Clare all the petitions I held so deeply in my heart. And when that was done, silence filled the space. After about 10 minutes, out of nowhere, I could hear the sound of the Poor Clare Sisters in the distance chanting their morning prayers. I knelt at that spot, for a good 30 minutes or so, all alone with St. Clare. I then got up, praised God for this special moment, and left the basilica. She's been with me, especially, ever since. St. Clare, pray for us. The post St. Clare, pray for us – a model for the discerning heart…In Conversation with Sr. Joan Mueller appeared first on Discerning Hearts Catholic Podcasts.

Join Poor Clare Sister Beth Lynn as she explores God's work in her life and in the world. A gifted weaver of stories old and new, Sister Beth celebrates the uniqueness of each person and the wonder of being a contemplative in communion with the whole Franciscan family. From Sister Beth's interview: “Each Franciscan is each Franciscan. No two alike. And each one has a wonderful story. I'm thrilled to be able to share mine because I believe it's an inclusive story of God's love for all God's people.” “Each [Poor Clare] monastery, because each person is so unique, each monastery is unique…The tradition is every monastery is very unique because each person is unique, you know. And it's so Franciscan.” “Clare was somebody that ran away. She was a radical member of our great Order over the centuries. I mean, she just said phooey on this style of marriage and took off. She wasn't going to be Benedictine. She was going to follow Francis. You know, we take it kind of as a folk story, but it's really a story of changing culture and changing people's views of women and what they're about and what they can do on their own.” “This [the Poor Clares] simplicity of life. They were living it to the full, they were faithful to the Franciscan Friars and the friars to them. So you can see how important the Franciscan Friars and Seculars are to the Clares. It's one family.” For a full transcript, please include episode number and email: fslfpodcast@fslf.org. Within the Form of Life of Saint Clare, Beth quoted Chapter 6:1-4: “After the Most High Heavenly Father saw fit by His grace to enlighten my heart to do penance according to the example and teaching of our most blessed father Saint Francis, shortly after his own conversion, I, together with my sisters, willingly promised him obedience. When the Blessed Father saw we had no fear of poverty, hard work, trial, shame, or contempt of the world, but, instead, we held them as great delights, moved by piety he wrote a form of life for us. Because by divine inspiration you have made yourselves daughters and handmaids of the most High, most Exalted King, the heavenly Father, and have taken the Holy Spirit as your spouse, choosing to live according to the perfection of the holy Gospel, I resolve and promise for myself and for my brothers always to have the same loving care and special solicitude for you as for them.” [as well as cf. 6:10-14] “As I together with my sisters have ever been solicitous to save God the holy poverty, which we have promised the Lord God, and blessed Francis, so too all the abbesses who succeed me in office, they will themselves, all of that. No ownership or intermediary that holds things for them to live only for this much land as necessity requires.” See also the Testament of Saint Clare 24-29, 33: https://www.franciscantradition.org/clare-of-assisi-early-documents/the-testament-clare-of-assisi/237-ca-ed-1-page-61.

There's a particular flaw that partly contributed to her life being viciously taken from her son, the rest of her family and friends. Please Sign the Petition to Speed Up Clare's Law Disclosure in Britiske Clare Mackintosh er frilansjournalist, blogger og forfatter. Old Peculier Crime Roman of the Year i 2016.

Escuchar audio

Hi friends! This week was the beginning of the end of Clares “season” and we’re sad. We talked a lot about how our views of the spoilers may have changed and what we think was really going on behind the scenes this season. Of course we roast moon pie one last time before happily sending him home and dive into all the drama involving Dale. Thank you for listening. We appreciate each and ever one of you so much and this week, we think the group date rose should go to you! This week I am joined by my very good friend Callie, to recap another insane episode of Clare's season. We discuss Dale dominating another week of Clares journey, that extremely tense one on one date, and the mutiny against Clare that seems to be brewing between all of the guys. Please rate us five stars, leave a review and subscribe. Also, tell a friend to check us out!Follow us on Instagram: @caniwalkyououtpod
Hi friends. This week we’re recapping episode 2 of Clares season. Are we really buying into the Clare/Dale relationship? What do we really think about How assertive Clare is? We also discuss Yosef, or as we like to call him, moon pie, and what we think of him after this week. Cheers! On the very first episode of the Can I walk you out? podcast, I am joined by a very special guest to discuss the premier of new Bachelorette Clare Crawley's season. We get into the weird limo arrivals, the men being petty, and Clares immediate obsession with one of the men. I am super excited to be a part of podcasting bachelor nation!

The mint milkshakes from McDonald's turned kids green and Sunny D made them orange. Good for bereavement though, which is something. PJ confesses his love for "Dallas" and Funderland. The episode is a nostalgia fest for the first while. There's breaking news on the word 'Culchie'. They serve the wrong chips in Lahinch but overall it's a great place altogether, down in the Clares. The pair of love gurus talk about relationships and sexuality and sort it all out once and for all. PJ turns into a classic barfly and Suzanne wades briefly into the battle of big financial tech. Hotel breakfasts in the time of the so-called New Normal, the good, the bad and the ugly of buffet or not systems. The age old question of what is better, Sex or a Cup of Tea, is finally answered, conclusively. The saga of PJ vs Gym continues. Socks, odd socks and 20 year old underwear. Sports fans in their full kits on tour. Dubland keeps the world spinning and sorts it all out as it goes, don't even worry about it, buy a t-shirt (https://www.headstuff.org/shop/) , good luck!

So it's the episode that half the county has been waiting for this week with the announcement of the winners of the Leitrim Daily Sports Awards. Breifne is also joined by Leitrim & Annaduff footballer Conor Reynolds and recent Connacht Championship winning captain Emma McLaughlin of St. Clare's Comprehensive, Manorhamilton. Conor Reynolds will be chatting about the mood in the camp ahead of a crunch league encounter with neighbours Longford and the progress of the season so far, getting to grips with some of the best forwards in the country against Roscommon, Derry and Cork and what his expectations for club and county will be this year. Emma McLaughlin led her St. Clare's Comp Ladies Footballers to the Connacht 'C' Championship on Monday with a 7-6 to 3-9 victory over Gortnor Abbey of Crossmolina, she'll be telling us all about what's involved in achieving success at that level with her North Leitrim & Cavan based school mates. Finally it's been a long time coming but after a mammoth reaction to our Sports Awards where over 1,400 of our listeners voted across the three categories on offer: Local, National and International. Breifne is joined by Melvin Gaels and Leitrim Footballer Emlyn Mulligan, International Triathlete Donnacha Holmes and Shannonside FM's Gaelic Games commentator Darren Mulvey to discuss the merits of each nominee and together with the results of the online poll to decide the winner in each category. In what can best be described as a Eurovision style points battle, which person or team will emerge at the top of each category and will you agree with the decision. Also a reminder that you can nominate any sports person or team for February's Award and nominations can be made by anyone very easily in just a few minutes through our website at https://www.leitrimdaily.com/nomination/
This episode is with the lovely Clare of The little London Vegan! You can get mine and Clares favourites from their veganuary menu for all of January and February.
As the county gains national and provincial schools titles this week in Volleyball and Soccer, the football, hurling & ladies football national leagues are back up and running this weekend with each of our senior sides making trips to Ulster opposition over the next 48 hours. Terry Hyland will be joining us for an indepth look at how Leitrim's footballers are fairing out ahead of their opening Division 3 clash with last season's nemesis Derry in Celtic Park on Saturday evening. While the Hurler's and Ladies Footballers face trips to Enniskillen and Owenbeg to face Fermanagh and Derry in what promises to be exciting campaigns for both sides. With both Olcan Conway and Hugh Donnelly facing into their first competitive games in the Leitrim hotseat for both sides. On Wednesday, St. Clares Comprehensive in Manorhamilton needed penalties to secure the Connacht Junior 'B' Cup title after a 2-2 draw in the final against Mayo school Balla. Breifne speaks to their manager Anthony McDonald about the success and some of the bright young talent who played their part. Staying with school sports, Breifne visited Drumshanbo Vocational School after their fabulous victory in the National Cadette Final against Elphin played in NUI Galway last Wednesday afternoon. Their teacher & coach Shane Hegarty and long time stalwart of the sport in Drumshanbo John King discuss the development of the sport over the decades in the school while Radek Oberwan, Ronan Moore and Danny McWeeney share their thoughts about playing in the game.
This week's Sports Roundup show takes a look back at the action which did take place over a frost affected few days. Manor Rangers repeated their heroics of last weekend while Leitrim's U14 female footballers got their season up and running as St. Clares Comp prepare for a Connacht Final on Wednesday in Athlone. After their table topping victory last weekend Manor didn't rest on their laurels yesterday in their Connacht Cup victory over Renmore of Galway in the Bee Park in Manorhamilton. Conceding a sloppy goal after ten minutes and some wasteful finishing from the home side certainly made it look like it wasn't going to be their day. A last minute header from Seamus Ryder would ensure the game went to extra time where Ryder would score again to give Manor the lead. A well finished move from the Galway side would tie up the game with less than ten minutes remaining and it was to be settled on spot kicks on the day. After 8 successful strikes from each side 16 year old Diarmuid Giblin stepped up for Manor only to see his effort saved, but the post came to his and Manor's rescue, before a combination of a converted penalty from player / manager Thomas McDonald and a save from Gilligan in the Manor goal left the home side smiling at the end. We caught up with Robbie Cunningham and Brian McDonald as well as the gaffer Thomas McDonald after the game. Declan Boyle, Coordinator of the Leitrim Sports Partnership, tells us all about the Operation Transformation walks which took place around the county with over 300 participants getting out and active for a 5km walk in Ballinamore, Carrick, Dromahair and Manorhamilton. Leitrim Ladies U14 side got their season up and running with a very competitive challenge game against a Longford side in Keenagh on Saturday. We speak to manager Adrian Murphy about his charges and how they have been gelling since they got together as an U13 development side back in late 2019. We also speak to Anthony McDonald of St. Clare's Comprehensive about their victory in their Connacht Semi Final last week and their upcoming U17 Boy's 'B' final to be played in Athlone Town on Wednesday afternoon.

God lyssning!

She believes that the enneagram allows us to see ourselves through God's eyes. Today's episode is the conclusion of the 5 part series with Clare so if you have not seen the other podcasts, please go back and start there. She has given us so much excellent information on each type that to start here will not allow you to get a full understanding of the enneagram. [01:02] Clare Loughrige tells us about the head types, IQ, EQ, and GQ. [01:13] IQ's are 5, 6, and 7; they interpret the world through their mental faculties. [02:07] The 5's are the types that show us God is wise when they are in their true selves. They need to have more research. They need to know what the numbers are before buying anything. [05:20] The 6's are the loyal and faithful type. They want everyone to feel secure. [06:35] When they are healthy, they work with the team, when they are not healthy, they can be fearful with worse case scenarios in their heads. [08:17] The 7's show us the joy of God; they are adventurers, explorers, and they are interested in everything. [10:40] They are methodical planners when they are healthy, it can turn to gluttony, always wanting more, more knowledge, more of everything when they are not healthy. [12:07] EQ's are numbers 2, 3, and 4's they are the emotional intelligence - GQ's are numbers 8, 9, and 1's they are the gut intelligence. [13:00] You need all three centers of intelligence if you want to be centered. [15:56] Do you have self-doubt? How can you change it? [18:00] Neuroplasticity is when you can rewire your brain. [20:43] Clares' head, heart gut motion mantra for as a 3 is effective loyalty harmonizes is a tool that Clare uses when she feels that someone needs to get something done. [22:40] Listen as they discuss the book Spiritual Rhythms for the enneagram, which is a handbook for harmony and transformation. [23:35] If you have not taken the test yet and you are curious what your numbers are, go to www.wepss.com and take Dr. Wagner's test. [24:56] Clare gives the three words for each type that can be used as a tool to stay in harmony. [27:05] What would your elevator pitch be? [28:40] The enneagram gives us a way to see ourselves through God's eyes. Clare Design was established in 1979 on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Lindsay and Kerry Clare are a husband and wife team who have produced architectural projects for more than 35 years, including a diverse range of housing and major urban and public buildings. Their work has been consistently acknowledged at home and internationally for design excellence and environmental performance. Haig Beck and Jackie Cooper write, “The Clares” ideas about experiencing natural light and ventilation are merged with their ideas about typology. They fuse ideas about type and climate into building form. Their buildings allow occupants to engage with architecture and the world outside, reinforcing the essential connection with place.”Lindsay + Kerry were jointly awarded the RAIA Gold Medal in 2010 and have over 35 RAIA awards for built works. Their practice is now based in Sydney and the Gold Coast to undertake selected projects across Australia’s eastern seaboard. Their recently completed Melbourne Docklands Library is the first public building to achieve a six star GreenStar rating.Alongside practice Lindsay and Kerry continue their review roles for local Council governments, and teaching as Visiting Professors at the Abedian School of Architecture, Bond University, and as Professors at the School of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Newcastle.
If this were a television series, the scene might look like this: A towering crowded cathedral, a grand organ filling the air with heavenly sounds, it's Palm Sunday, the Bishop is presiding, Solemn High Mass! The featured family in their Easter finery, having just arrived from their palace is occupying the front pew. The mother, first daughter of a noble family, always devout and pius, the father, a wealthy Count, an ancient Roman family, head bowed in thanksgiving for his aristocratic family, his beautiful daughter sitting alongside in her designer outfit... The Bishop is at the altar, the congregation gathers, receiving their palms, but, the girl is unable to approach, she is transfixed, bathed in blinding bright light, all eyes upon her. The Bishop leaves his sanctuary and places the branch of palm in the hand of the girl. The cameras fades to black, the girl is never seen again... The story does continue, but not as a television series, as a true story. The country is Italy, the town is Assisi, the family is that of Flavorino Scifi and the young girl, is St Clare of Assisi. She is now hidden away in a monastery outside of town, in a rough, thick veil and a plain brown tunic, her head has been shaven and she has tossed away her Easter finery, and the hopes and dreams of her family. It is time for her to follow her own dreams, those which allow her to walk in the steps of Jesus Christ, as did her spiritual mentor and First Saint of Assisi, St Francis. Clare had met him when he came to preach at a Lenten service. She realized her calling was not the high life of upscale Rome, but the right to abandon all of her worldly goods, to be distributed to the poor in the name of Him, who was the Way, the Truth and the Light! St Francis had immediately recognized her as a 'chosen soul' and agreed to help her begin her life with Christ. He placed her in a humble chapel in Sam Damiano, her dedication attracted others, and thus, began the the Poor Ladies of St Clare, a monastic life for women, honoring the life and word of their Lord by living in poverty, manual labor and prayer. St Clare spent her life dedicated to the Order, from abyss to superior, forty long years. She was instrumental in writing the Rite of the Clares, a rule of governing cloistered life. Although St Clare spent many years in poor health she was said to be able to see and hear the Mass on the walls of her austere room. This encouraged Pope Pius XII to award her the title of Patron Saint of Television in 1958. St Clare died in 1253 at age 59 on August 11th and was canonized in Rome by Pope Alexander IV on September 26, 1255.We celebrate her Feast Day on August 11.
