May is a month dedicated to raising mental health, I want to express my gratitude to all those people who work and strive for mental health. In recent months and years, we have literally seen people falling apart and not caring about their mental health. Let me not sound arrogant or smart, I have to tell you all that it is ok not to feel ok every day and that it is ok not to be happy as everyone shows it on the internet. It is okay to cry and say how you feel and even to say when you feel that something is wrong with you. Do not be people with happy images and sad minds, do not! Do not be afraid to ask for help if you really need it. Talking about it all is not taboo. Over the years, beautiful friends have left us, friends, for whom no one suspects that they are deeply suffering. Some suffer visibly, some are deeply rooted in themselves and we can not notice them, which leaves another impression, lying that not everything is ok. Meet Matteson Gregory Matteson Gregory is a pop singer-songwriter based in the Midwest. Since the age of twelve, she has been writing songs and playing gigs and local spots in her hometown. For the past three years, she has been making her way through the music scene. From playing across the midwest to releasing three singles (Comfortable, Stayed!, and War With Myself), she is definitely making her mark. Thou shall follow these seven commandments to shine as an indie artist! Light first dawned on Jamie Alimorad’s prodigal artistry in Boston’s underground music circuit, while attending Northeastern University. From those humble beginnings, Alimorad dedicated himself to honing his craft as a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His time at Northeastern proved invaluable, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Music Technology, and a blossoming career. Upon graduating, his music began trickling out from Boston’s indie scene and out into the world at large. The Race Against PH was started in 2001 by Katie Davis, Eddie Davis and Paige Dunn to promote awareness to the devastating disease Katie’s mother was battling. The 17th Annual Race Against PH 5k takes place on November 5th, 2017 at 9 a.m. at Stanford’s Pac-12 Plaza. Proceeds benefit the Vera Moulton Wall Center for Pulmonary Vascular Disease at Stanford and support research and efforts dedicated to finding new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for PH.
