Pastor Jill Windham Genesis 37:19-28 (NIV) “Here comes that dreamer!” they said to each other. 20 “Come now, let's kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we'll see what comes of his dreams.” 21 When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue him from their hands. “Let's not take his life,” he said. 22 “Don't shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the wilderness, but don't lay a hand on him.” Reuben said this to rescue him from them and take him back to his father. 23 So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe—the ornate robe he was wearing— 24 and they took him and threw him into the cistern. The cistern was empty; there was no water in it. 25 As they sat down to eat their meal, they looked up and saw a caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead. Their camels were loaded with spices, balm and myrrh, and they were on their way to take them down to Egypt. 26 Judah said to his brothers, “What will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood? 27 Come, let's sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him; after all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood.” His brothers agreed. 28 So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt. V 20-23 But while Joseph was there in the prison, 21 the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. 22 So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. 23 The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph's care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did. 1. What if this holding pattern is maturing me? Just because you have a dream doesn't mean it's time to live that dream. Dreams, like everything else that live, require a growing period and a birth. There's power in the process of staying connected to the tree until it's time to be picked. Luke 5:36-39 He also told them a parable: “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and puts it on an old one; otherwise he will both tear the new and the piece from the new will not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new fermenting wine will expand and burst the skins and it will be spilled out and the skins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.” 2. What if it's not safe to land yet? God doesn't want you just moved out of where you are. He also wants your heart to be changed in the meantime. 3. Am I stuck or just impatient? Matthew 24:36 (NLT) “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. Don't make a permanent decision in a place of temporary pain! 2 Timothy 2:11-12 (NLT) 11 And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News. That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return. 4. What can I do while I'm stuck here? Genesis 40 14 And please remember me and do me a favor when things go well for you. Mention me to Pharaoh, so he might let me out of this place. 15 For I was kidnapped from my homeland, the land of the Hebrews, and now I'm here in prison, but I did nothing to deserve it.” V 20- 23 Pharaoh's birthday came three days later, and he prepared a banquet for all his officials and staff. He summoned his chief cup-bearer and chief baker to join the other officials. 21 He then restored the chief cup-bearer to his former position, so he could again hand Pharaoh his cup. 22 But Pharaoh impaled the chief baker, just as Joseph had predicted when he interpreted his dream. 23 Pharaoh's chief cup-bearer, however, forgot all about Joseph, never giving him another thought. Proverbs 18:16 (NLT) Giving a gift can open doors; it gives access to important people! Your gift can open your prison door! Romans 11:29 (NLT) For God's gifts and His call can never be withdrawn. You may feel forgotten by humans. Joseph was also forgotten by them. But God NEVER forgot Joseph. And He hasn't forgotten you. 5. What if you've been positioned for this time? We want to be the Biblical faith giant without the Biblical sized sacrifice they had to make to get there. V 37-44 37 Joseph's suggestions were well received by Pharaoh and his officials. 38 So Pharaoh asked his officials, “Can we find anyone else like this man so obviously filled with the spirit of God?” 39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has revealed the meaning of the dreams to you, clearly no one else is as intelligent or wise as you are. 40 You will be in charge of my court, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I, sitting on my throne, will have a rank higher than yours.” 41 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt.” 42 Then Pharaoh removed his signet ring from his hand and placed it on Joseph's finger. He dressed him in fine linen clothing and hung a gold chain around his neck. 43 Then he had Joseph ride in the chariot reserved for his second-in-command. And wherever Joseph went, the command was shouted, “Kneel down!” So Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of all Egypt. 44 And Pharaoh said to him, “I am Pharaoh, but no one will lift a hand or foot in the entire land of Egypt without your approval.” V 53-57 At last the seven years of bumper crops throughout the land of Egypt came to an end. 54 Then the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had predicted. The famine also struck all the surrounding countries, but throughout Egypt there was plenty of food. 55 Eventually, however, the famine spread throughout the land of Egypt as well. And when the people cried out to Pharaoh for food, he told them, “Go to Joseph, and do whatever he tells you.” 56 So with severe famine everywhere, Joseph opened up the storehouses and distributed grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout the land of Egypt. 57 And people from all around came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph because the famine was severe throughout the world. 45:1-8 Joseph could stand it no longer. There were many people in the room, and he said to his attendants, “Out, all of you!” So he was alone with his brothers when he told them who he was. 2 Then he broke down and wept. He wept so loudly the Egyptians could hear him, and word of it quickly carried to Pharaoh's palace. 3 “I am Joseph!” he said to his brothers. “Is my father still alive?” But his brothers were speechless! They were stunned to realize that Joseph was standing there in front of them. 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer. And he said again, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into slavery in Egypt. 5 But don't be upset, and don't be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place. It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives. 6 This famine that has ravaged the land for two years will last five more years, and there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. 7 God has sent me ahead of you to keep you and your families alive and to preserve many survivors. 8 So it was God who sent me here, not you! And he is the one who made me an adviser to Pharaoh—the manager of his entire palace and the governor of all Egypt What if what you're going through isn't a setback, but a set UP? “God has sent me ahead of you to keep you and your families alive and to preserve so many survivors.” You might be waiting. But God isn't waiting. He is moving and He is working.
Message: The gospel according to Luke Text: Luke 23:13-25 I am Barabbas…I can be the Chief Priests/people…I don’t want to be Pilate Leaders who don’t lead anymore…they have given up. Spiritual Leadership: Agents of positive change; reject crowd mentality (Acts 19:32); First to stand up, first to speak up…first. So, leaders stop looking around but rather look up. True spiritual leaders know what the right thing is, they know in their heart what should be done. But they’re not the only ones who know. Someone in your life is waiting for you to lead, they need you to lead. Harry S. Truman, "I wonder how far Moses would have gone if he'd taken a poll in Egypt? What would Jesus Christ have preached if he'd taken a poll in Israel? It isn't polls or public opinion of the moment that counts. It's right and wrong."

THREE QUESTIONS:(1) How can you spot a false prophet? The Bible offers several complementary criteria. For instance, in Deuteronomy 18:22 we are told that if an ostensible prophet predicts something and that thing does not take place, the prophet is false. Of course, that criterion does not help very much if what the prophet has predicted is far into the future. Moreover, here in Deuteronomy 13 we are warned that the inverse does not prove the prophet is trustworthy. If what the ostensible prophet predicts takes place, or if he manages to perform some sort of miraculous sign or wonder, another criterion must be brought to bear. Is this prophet’s message enticing people to worship some god other than the Lord who brought the people out of Egypt? What this criterion presupposes is a thorough grasp of antecedent revelation. You have to know what God has revealed about himself before you can determine whether or not the prophet is leading you to a false god. For the false god may still be given the biblical names of God (as in, say, Mormonism, or the christology of Jehovah’s Witnesses). John’s first epistle offers this same criterion: if what an ostensible prophet (1 John 4:1-6) teaches cannot be squared with what the believers have heard “from the beginning”(1 John 2:7; 2 John 9), it is not of God (so also Paul in Gal. 1:8-9).(2) Why are false prophets dangerous? Apart from the obvious reason, viz. that they teach false doctrine that leads people astray from the living God and therefore ultimately attracts his judgment, there are two reasons. First, their very description — “false prophet”– discloses the core problem. They profess to speak the word of God, and this can be seductive. If they came along and said, “Let us sin disgustingly,” most would not be attracted. The seduction of false prophecy is its ostensible spirituality and truthfulness. Second, although false prophets may enter a community from outside (e.g., Acts 20:29 — and if it is the “right” outside, this makes them very attractive), they may arise from within the community (e.g., Acts 20:30), as here — for example, a family member (Deut. 13:6). I know of more than one Christian institution that went bad doctrinally because of nepotism.(3) What should be done about them? Three things. First, recognize that these testing events do not escape the bounds of God’s sovereignty. Allegiance is all the more called for (Deut. 13:3-4). Second, learn the truth, learn it well, or you will always lack discernment. Third, purge the community of false prophets (a process that takes a different form under the new covenant: e.g., 2 Cor. 10 — 13; 1 John 4:1-6), or they will gradually win credence and do enormous damage. By Randy Urwiller in East Texas - April 9, 2020 - God created His annual feasts and holy days so that we remember Him and His plan of salvation. Along with those who have gone before us, we are part of something so much greater than ourselves—an ongoing continuum of people linked together by God’s holy spirit in the body of Christ. How did leavening specifically relate to ancient Egypt? What must we do physically and spiritually during the Days of Unleavened Bread? Let us remember the rich heritage of our calling as we daily seek to recognize and remove sin from our lives.
How do you differentiate between God and coincidence? Numbers 13:25 The spies bring a "bad report." We see "emotional contagion," spreading fear among the Israelites who want to go back to Egypt. Why do they want to go into the Promised Land the day after they wanted to go back to Egypt? What changed in their mind? If we see or perceive God it changes the way we behave. The Israeli spies gave an "Honest Report" of what they saw, but without faith, God called it a "Bad Report," and it kept them all out of the Promised Land. Photo by Jez Timms on Unsplash

Mustapha, Tual, and Usama are three young Egyptians hanging by the Nile in Luxor. What do tourists miss out on when they zip through Egypt? How important is Allah in Egypt? What do think of Israel, Sudan, and Libya What's the marriage ceremony like? What do you they imagine relationships are like in America? What's the future of Egypt? I apologize that there's the annoying sound of wind during the recording. The Nile is windy and I didn't have a windscreen. The only reason I released this episode was that the content was revealing. Hatshepsut was an Egyptian queen and pharaoh who reigned from 1504 - 1483 BCE and considered one of the most prolific builders in ancient Egypt, commissioning hundreds of construction projects throughout both Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt, that were grander and more numerous than those of any of her Middle Kingdom predecessors. So who was she? How did she come to power in patriarchal Egypt? What were her built legacies and what happened after her death?
The boys havin da craic, chatting about Irish Wisdom and how it links into history and the Bible! Ireland is a land that was conquered many times over and the conquerers of the land wrote her history. The history we are taught in school is missing a big piece, and that is how Ireland's place in the world has been forgotten and hidden. Was Ireland the cradle of wisdom and not Egypt? What about the Phoenicians? The Hebrews? The druids? Nature magic? The real Christianity? Who were the Celts? What world was destroyed when 'Rome' arrived? Why do the brothers wait before going down to Egypt? What does this say about them and their readiness ?to lead For more information about Rabbi Danny, please visit www.RabbiDanny.com The opening and closing music for this podcast is Coming Out of the Dark by Matt Stamm.
How did Joseph know his brothers were in Egypt? What did he base his accusations on? The rabbis made delicatessen from the story of the first encounter between the viceroy and his brothers.
You've mentioned that Yahweh derived from Canaanite polytheism, and I wonder if you could go into further detail on the subject and provide a list of suggested readings. Do the archetypal names Adam ("man" or "mankind") and Eve ("mother of all living") mean that they were intended as mythic figures? Does Paul's language indicate he thought of Adam as an historical individual, and would that be common in first-century Judaism? What about Pharisaic Judaism is so at odds with the teachings of pseudo-Jesus? Why are fundamentalists so attached to the King James translation? Doesn't it matter that King James was gay? Is the information age going to be the death of religion (except maybe as literature)? There are 67 years between the death of Hezekiah through the reigns of Manasseh and Amon up to the time of Josiah finding the scroll of the Torah. Are we to believe that the inhabitants of Judah had completely forgotten the Torah in that 67 year period? You have said that there is no archaeological evidence to substantiate the Exodus story, but does the evidence show any movements at all in the Sinai? Might Irish monasticism have been influenced by the Desert Fathers of Egypt? What did Egypt represent for the Israelites in the Old Testament and then for the early Christians? Why did Judaism and its offshoots become dominant in the West rather than some modified form of the Egyptian religion? I was wondering if you could discuss the theology of Zoroastrianism, in particular the aspects that influenced Abrahamic faiths.
Mark Finkelstein and Rabbi Kaufman discussed the moral and ethical imperatives related to addressing the situations in Syria and Egypt. What does it mean that Syria used genocidal weapons, weapons designed to kill every man woman and child exposed in an area? What does it mean that the Muslim Brotherhood has systematically attacked Coptic communities throughout Egypt? What must the US do? Can it simply sit back and watch it all unfold? We discussed it all in detail as well as the day's Ketusha rocket attack in the north of Israel.
