Send us a Text Message.Enuff Z'Nuff, a band known for their eclectic mix of power pop and hard rock, emerged from Blue Island, Illinois, in the mid-1980s. Formed by bassist and lead vocalist Chip Z'Nuff and guitarist and vocalist Donnie Vie, the band quickly garnered attention with their vibrant melodies, harmonized vocals, and distinctive glam-rock image. Enuff Z'Nuff's self-titled debut album, released in 1989, featured the hits "New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle," both of which received significant airplay on MTV and brought the band into the limelight.Despite the changing tides of musical trends in the 1990s, Enuff Z'Nuff remained resilient, continuing to release a steady stream of albums. Their sound evolved over time, blending elements of psychedelic rock, Beatles-esque harmonies, and the raw edge of early '90s alternative rock. Albums such as "Strength" (1991) and "Animals with Human Intelligence" (1993) showcased their versatility and depth, earning critical acclaim even as mainstream success proved elusive. The band's journey has not been without its trials. Internal conflicts, changes in lineup, and the fluctuating landscape of the music industry posed significant challenges. Donnie Vie departed the band multiple times, leading to various shifts in the band's lineup. Despite these upheavals, Chip Z'Nuff has remained a constant presence, steering the band forward and maintaining its creative output.Enuff Z'Nuff's resilience and commitment to their music are evident in their extensive discography and continued touring. They have released over a dozen studio albums, including "Diamond Boy" (2018), which marked a return to their classic sound with modern influences, and "Brainwashed Generation" (2020), which features a mix of new material and guest appearances by other rock veterans. For fans and newcomers alike, an opportunity to experience Enuff Z'Nuff live is not to be missed. Their energetic performances are known for their blend of nostalgia and contemporary flair, creating an engaging and memorable concert experience. On Friday, June 14th, Enuff Z'Nuff will be bringing their dynamic live show to the Park Hills Underground in Park Hills, Missouri. This performance promises to be a night filled with the band's signature hits and new material, encapsulating their enduring appeal and musical evolution. As they take the stage, attendees can expect a thrilling journey through the band's storied career, filled with powerful rock anthems, infectious pop hooks, and the undeniable charisma of Chip Z'Nuff and his bandmates.www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn www.BetterHelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn http://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

Interview by Kris PetersGlam or "hair" metal as it has been dubbed is a strange beast. Those who like it, LOVE it, but seldom do you come across anyone who sits on the fence.A large part of that is the stereotypical sounds that most bands of the genre feel obligated to gravitate towards, meaning often such bands sound the same and compete for supremacy based more on looks than image. That's my take on it anyway. I'm in the section of people who love the music too, so don't start...Every so often a band comes into the genre with a daring edge to their music that elevates them beyond the realms of another glam metal band, forcing their way into your musical psyche with an air of indifference and rebelliousness that is honest and sincere. They may look the part and dress the part, and, to a certain extent, play the part but you can sense something more sinister simmering below the surface with an axe to grind. That band for now is US rockers The Midnight Devils who are on the cusp of their first ever trip to Australia to support the legendary Donnie Vie, original singer from Enuff Z Nuff, later this month. In an unusual turn of events, The Midnight Devils recently completed their first international tour in support of the current version of Enuff Z Nuff, with vocalist Chip Z Nuff also working on their most recent album Beg For It.HEAVY spoke with frontman Sam Spade earlier this week to gauge his excitement levels."We are ready to party," he enthused. "There's only one way to rock and it's Down Under baby. We're coming for you Australia! We are beyond excited. It doesn't even begin to touch the feelings that are running through us right now as we get ready."With this being the first chance Australian audiences will have to experience The Midnight Devils live we ask Spade what to expect."There is no typical show," he smiled. "We have an idea of what we're going to do. Going into every show we don't write set lists, we don't play tracks, we don't do anything. It's all about feel and the energy coming off the crowd. You can better believe that we're gonna bring it. It's gonna be make up clagged glitter, rubber, lipstick smeared insanity from the get-go, and I'm telling you it's not just on-stage. It's off stage as well, so prepare yourselves! You can expect loud screaming and excitement all around."In the full interview, Sam talks more about coming to Australia, what he is expecting, how daunting it is travelling to the other side of the world to play for the first time, what he knows of Vie and playing with him, his relationship with Chip Z Nuff, their new single Sound Of Domination and the raunchy film clip recorded live at the Whisky A-Go-Go, how they were received in Europe, being part of the glam rock scene, the rockier nature of their new music, upcoming tours, a new album and more.

Interview by Kris PetersAussie rockers Sisters Doll have done more in their short music career than most bands do in a lifetime.Since forming in 2010 the three brothers have been on Australia's Got Talent, judged All Together Now, played on seperate occassions with KISS legends Bruce Kulick and Peter Criss, performed on last years KISS Kruise, toured overseas on multiple occassions, played the Whisky A Go Go and toured Australia with legends such as Eclipse, Pretty Boy Floyd, Enuff Z Nuff, Wednesday 13, Crash Diet and more.Did I mention they are all still pretty much kids? The music world has had the privelage of watching these three youngsters from the small town of Collie in Western Australia grow up - both musically and as men - practically before our eyes. We have shared in their debut album Welcome To The Dollhouse and breathed every moment of their television performances and live outings.Essentially starting life as an 80s inspired glam metal outfit, Sister's Dolls music has grown with its members, the culmination of which can be heard in their latest single Kiss Me which is out on February 10.HEAVY caught up with Bryce (drums) and Austin (bass) Mileto to chat about the new track and more."It's kind of a bit more punk and pop influence," Austin began. "That was not a choice. We wrote it and that's the path it was taking. Musically, it's kind of in that vein but has a super catchy chorus.""It probably wasn't our first choice going in with this song," Bryce added. "But the more we were working in the studio Ricky, our producer, said this would be a good one to go with. Prisoner (last single) is pretty heavy and in your face. This one still has the edge of that but it's a bit more pop/punk esque. A bit more radio friendly and a bit more...""A bit more of that touch to it," Austin took over. "Prisoner was so hard hitting so we thought... this is a hard hitting song - it's got that heavy, guitar driven riff...""We thought we would try a different thing," Bryce concluded. "And then the follow up single to this one even is different again. It's pretty cool. We thought we would show the different side of the band and how we can pump out... I guess we're trying to steer away from that stereotypical thing where people think we're a cover band or a throwback to the 80s, but we're more trying to show our musical growth."In the full interview the boys discuss Kiss me in greater detail, the inspiration behind the track, the special video being released on Valentine's Day, growing up in the spotlight, their upcoming album and its musical direction, the recent Glam Fest tour, playing on the KISS Kruise, future plans and more.
Interview by Kris PetersSwedish rock outfit Eclipse are just one of a myriad of international rock/sleaze/glam metal bands about to descend on Australian shores for Glam Fest 2023.Eclipse will be hitting the stage in Brisbane at The Zoo on January 25 alongside Faster Pussycat, Enuff Z Nuff, Wednesday 13, Tuff and Pretty Boy Floyd plus local supports before travelling through Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide for a run of shows highlighting the best purveyors of rock music the world has seen over the last three decades. After the massive worldwide appeal of their most recent album Wired in 2021, Eclipse are riding a renewed wave of success, with frontman Erik Mattensson joining HEAVY to chat about the tour."I haven't seen any of those bands live," he almost apologised when asked about the rest of the lineup. "I've seen so many bands throughout the years and we have played so many festivals but we have never played the same festivals as these guys, so it's going to be the first time for every band for me. I've never even met anyone! Usually all bands know each other because they always meet at festivals and chat back stage, but none of these guys we have met before so it's gonna be super exciting. It's fun that it's Glam Fest as well, because we don't consider ourselves glam. Have a look at me. I'm not glam at all (laughs). That's gonna be exciting too."In the full interview we talk more on the diversity of the lineup and how important that is in a festival such as this, what Eclipse has in store for Australian fans, how much time goes into their live set, the reception to Wired, the early days of Eclipse and where they fit in, his early vision for the band and how it has changed since and more.
Interview by Kris PetersGlam Fest 2023 is less than seven sleeps away. The festival, making its Australian debut, features some of the best and most influential glam/rock/hard rock bands of the last three decades and is spearheaded by Faster Pussycat, Wednesday 13, Enuff Z Nuff, Eclipse, Pretty Boy Floyd and Tuff.Originating in 1985, Tuff are one of the original Sunset Strip bands out of L.A, playing in and around the same time as legends of the Strip including Motley Crue and Guns N Roses.Despite not reaching quite the same heights as those two bands the importance of Tuff on the metal scene cannot be understated, with frontman Stevie Rachelle joining HEAVY recently to chat about the band and their appearance at Glam Fest 2023."It will be my second time coming to Australia," he offered. "I previously played Melbourne and Sydney but are thrilled to add Brisbane and Adelaide to the itinerary. Soon we will be landing in Brisbane and then it's off to the races for all of us."Talk turns to the diversity of the lineup, with Rachelle admitting to having toured and played with most of the bands in the past."I've known Steve from Pretty Boy Floyd and his band since day one," he smiled, "since before their first gig we were all hanging out on the Sunset Strip. Same applies for Taime and Faster Pussycat. I moved to L.A in June of 1987 and joined Tuff a couple of weeks later. Faster Pussycat was already a band and had been signed, but I don't think their record had come out yet and then Enuff Z Nuff came out in 1989 and when they were on tour and played Southern California Tuff did open up for them a couple of times during their debut tour. I have known Chip since the beginning, or at least until their record came out."In the full interview, Stevie talks more about the run of shows, what to expect from Tuff, the tour schedule which sees each band play four shows in four days, the original Sunset Strip and some of his memories of it, the early days of Tuff, his joining of the band after two years and what he brought to the existing sound, the changing world of music and more.
Interview by Kris PetersEnuff Z Nuff have rocked the lighter side of the metal world for the better part of four decades, with their enigmatic and irresisiable frontman Chip Z Nuff ushering in generation after generation of music lovers and taking them under his wing.Following the release of their 20th album Finer Than Sin late last year, Enuff Z Nuff return to Australia as part of the Glam Fest extravaganza, which kicks off in Brisbane on January 25 before hitting Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney over consecutive days.Glam Fest sees a mixed bag of genres, with artists such as Faster Pussycat, Pretty Boy Floyd, Eclipse, Wednesday 13 and Tuff joined by a host of local acts.Chip sat down with HEAVY to talk about the tour and plenty more."I'll tell you Kris, I'm really looking forward to Australia," he enthused. "Glam Fest 2023 is really shaping up to be something that's absolutely massive. It's not your usual stadium tour where you're out there and you have to pay $200 or $300 to see some of your favourite MTV bands. You get them all for a nice price, and they're all coming from North America and around the country. Faster Pussycat - fantastic live. We did a tour with them last year and it was absolutely incredible. Every show completely sold out. You've got Pretty Boy Floyd, Eclipse, can't wait to see my buddy Wednesday 13, Tuff will be out there - my old friend Stevie - it's a bridge truck full of bands from all around the country and getting together and celebrating hard rock and heavy metal and it's gonna be absolutely fantastic."The last time Enuff Z Nuff were out here was at the very start of COVID, with the band very fortunate to make it out of the country before lockdown."The last time was February 20th, 2020, and I remember picking up a newspaper at a restaurant - I never read the paper - and it said the prime minister of transportation in England says if you're a foreigner don't come here. And we were on a major tour. We started off in Australia and we were gonna work our way through England and then come back after the U.K and do Italy, Spain and France and it all got shut down. We barely made it home on time. As a matter of fact, when Enuff Z Nuff flew back to the States I remember it was on the news where the President was saying they are shutting down the borders. It was incredible (laughs). We did seven shows on that tour with Winger - those cats were great, I love Kip Winger - and they were all very well attended and we thought 'would we ever get a chance to come back here again? Well, we said prayers and they've come true. We're coming back!"In the full interview Chip talks more about Glamfest, who he is most looking forward to playing with, the different genres represented and why that's a good thing, what they plan on doing in Australia, their recent album Finer Than Sin, settling in to the role as lead vocalist, how difficult that decision was, last years Beatles tribute album Hard Rock Nite, the early days of Enuff Z Nuff, future plans and more.

Enuff Z'nuff are the living, breathing example of what a rock/pop group should be. The band was formed in 1984 in Blue Island, Illinois. Its first release, Fingers On It, gave the band some initial recognition when the track was featured in the 1986 cult movie, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.By 1989, original members, Chip Z'Nuff and Donnie Vie, were joined by guitarist Derek Frigo and drummer Vikki Foxx. The band had signed with Atco/Atlantic Records that same year and released their debut self-titled album. The album spawned two singles that were to change the course of the band's history, New Thing and Fly High Michelle. Both songs were played constantly on radio and gained heavy rotation on MTV spending over 60 weeks in the top 10.1991 saw the band release its follow-up, Strength. The album had more of a rock overtone, and following its release, the band became regulars on shows like David Letterman and Howard Stern and was featured in Rolling Stone's hot issue as โthe next big thing'.ย In 1993 the band left Atco records and moved to Arista, releasing the album, Animals With Human Intelligence. The album gained lots of critical acclaims, and prior to its release, Vikki Foxx was replaced by new drummer Ricky Parent.โStill a major force after 20+ albums, Enuff Z'nuff still has a legion of loyal fans and has earned the respect and acclaim of its peers and contemporaries. With the addition of longtime guitarist: Tory Stoffregen, former Enuff Z'nuff singer/guitarist: Alex Kane, and Chicago native: Daniel Benjamin Hill, the band continues to tour and record relentlessly.ย Industry heavyweights have been singing the praises of Enuff Z'nuff for years:ย Howard Stern: โEnuff Z'nuff deserves rock-star status".ย Paul Stanley: โTheir debut is a classic".ย David Letterman: โWhen it comes to rock n' roll, these guys are all you need".Little Steven Van Zandt: โEnuff Z'nuff is one of the most underrated bands in the world".ย Enuff Z'nuff are:ย Chip Z'nuff: Singer/ Electric bass guitarTory Stoffregen: GuitarAlex Kane: GuitarDan Hill: Drums

Throwing all caution to the wind this power-trio is a bad ass-lipstick smeared party rock n roll band that takes glam to the next level. The Midnight Devils have also toured as the direct support act for UK rock legends The Quireboys in early 2020, supported Yngwie Malmsteen, Enuff Znuff, The Bullteboys, and Pretty Boy Floyd in 2021. The Midnight Devils are the latest in a long line of bands that have gravitated to the glam rock side of metal, embracing the music and image of a time gone by and bringing it into the modern age.Playing what has been dubbed high energy slam boogie woogie rock and roll, The Midnight Devils are brash, confident, and talented enough to possibly spearhead the revival of a genre that appeared to be in its death throes with the departure of Motley Crue. With the bands latest album under wraps, vocalist and bass player Sam Spade sat down for a casual one on one with HEAVY earlier this week."The Midnight Devils are a...,โ he measured, โI wanna say the new generation; the new wave of glam rock. We are a three-piece boogie woogie rock and roll band that has been touring constantly for 2.5 years now. We put out our first record in 2018 and everything is DIY, very punk rock but it's also very glam and very over the top. It's a party and we dabble in a lot of bands that people grew up on. My favourite band is KISS and we draw a lot of influences from them, Van Halen, The Ramones but still done with heart and soul and power. The way rock and roll should be. Dangerous. Unexpected. Anything can happen. And that's the cool thing, it's exciting `still and it's new and fresh."While dominating periods of the late 1980's, glam rock has been a genre of music that has ridden varying waves of popularity. It is not so much a form of music than an encapsulating way of life and Spade says The Midnight Devils are confident of being the band to usher in the new wave of glam rock/metal."We're young guys,โ he offered. โWe're hungry. We're on the road in a bus driving across the country to play one or two shows. We're the guys that will be there no matter what, just for the love of what we do and what we put to the table is this intensity, this fire, this energy and it takes you back and you realise these guys grew up on these bands that influenced us all. Whether it be Motley Crue, Poison, Faster Pussycat, we've taken it and made it our own and made it interesting and something that anybody in 2021, 2022 can latch on to and be like, I get what these guys are doing. It's what we grew up on but it's new still. Over the quarantine we signed our first record deal with Pavement Entertainment out of Chicago and we just completed a tour with Pretty Boy Floyd. We're heading out with Enuff Z Nuff and I feel like... there's coming a time when all these bands are gonna be maybe hanging it up or calling it quits. Who are the guys that are gonna be coming up after that? It's us."In the full interview Sam talks more about the upcoming album, working with the legendary Chip ZNuff, their intense live show, touring with Pretty Boy Floyd and some road stories, future touring plans and more.
