Nope, just put a period at the end of that sentence! Or that •God does not require man.. nope and never has! And lastly, •you can't kill a god, so your JC …make it make sense You may have arrived today expecting to disprove any and/or all of these truths, but when faced with one's religious realities, are you still “BETTER?” Listener: Do you believe in one (righteous) kill of a human who said too much? I enjoy contemporary Christian music. Many songs celebrate the fatherhood of God, but a few talk about being a father of children. Steven Curtis Chapman's haunting piece “Cinderella” brings tears to my eyes, as it recounts a daughter growing up. But it seems contemporary Christian music generally lacks songs that celebrate the faithfulness of our parents or forefathers. At least, I couldn't find any when I searched. I also like old hymns. One old hymn celebrates the faith of those who went before. “Faith of Our Fathers” was written in by Frederick William Faber in 1849 to honor martyrs who were faithful unto death.* We are blessed by the faith of those who go before us. I had great examples of faith. My father, father-in-law and grandfather were all followers of Jesus who were faithful to him and to their families. I've been blessed by their example. For many people, it is not their immediate family, but a father figure who has blessed their life as an example of faith. Psalms 22:4-5 celebrates both the faithfulness of God and the Jewish forefathers. It reads, “In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.” (NIV) Remember, your faith is an example for those who follow. Remain faithful to God and love the people around you. *"Faith of Our Fathers," GodTube, https://www.godtube.com/popular-hymns/faith-of-our-fathers/ How to leave a review: https://www.sparkingfaith.com/rate-and-review/ Please provide feedback and suggestions at: https://www.sparkingfaith.com/feedback/ Bumper music “Landing Place” performed by Mark July, used under license from Shutterstock.

He was known for his preaching across the United States and around the world. Life and work: Lockridge was born in Robertson County, Texas, the oldest of eight children and the son of a Baptist minister. A graduate of Bishop College in Marshall, Texas, he worked for two years as a high school English teacher. In 1940 in Dallas, he felt led to preach. In 1941 he married Virgil Mae Thompson. In 1942, he accepted his first pastorate at Fourth Ward Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas. In August 1952, he was named pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in San Diego where he served until retiring in 1993. During Lockridge's tenure at Calvary Baptist, a predominantly African-American congregation, his ministry reached more than 100,000 people. He preached at crusades, revivals, religious rallies and evangelistic conferences around the world. He also served in key regional, state and national positions with the Baptist Church, including being elected as the Moderator of the Progressive Baptist District Association, President of the California Missionary Baptist State Convention, and the first president of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America, where he held all three major positions simultaneously. He held doctorates and numerous honorary degrees, and was often sought as a public speaker, even after he retired in 1993. He served as guest lecturer at numerous schools and universities and on the faculty of several others, including the Billy Graham School of Evangelism. Lockridge was active in the civil rights movement, and under his leadership Calvary Baptist hosted several of its leaders, including Martin Luther King Jr. Lockridge's best-known message is "That's my King!", notably the six and a half minute description of Jesus Christ contained at the end of the hour-long sermon (the popular title comes from Lockridge's repeated refrain). Even with the most programming experience in the world, coding still involves a lot of trial and error. People getting started in the industry should not become bogged down by failure. Because in the end, it’s a feature and not a bug. That’s one of Zillion developer Anna Sherman’s key messages this episode. We open our discussion with Anna by talking about living in Chattanooga, AKA, Gig City. She talks about why the tech scene there is exploding before diving into her journey into programming. Having created her own personal coding boot camp, she opens up about what she did to land her first software job within only two months of looking. After discussing her early working experiences, we explore her work at Zillion, along with her side projects. We then touch on what Anna does to expand her skillset and develop herself as a professional, using a style guide and ‘lunch and learns’ to update her team, and we hear the elevator pitch for Anna’s Code BEAM San Francisco talk. Anna shares her take on architecture and design, as well as the importance of domain-driven design in keeping your team aligned with what they’re building. Near the end of the episode, we talk about Anna’s pre-coding process, the virtues of being a ‘physlistcler,’ and why failure is an important part of coding. Tune in to hear more of Anna’s insights on change, failure, and living in Gig City. Key Points From This Episode: Fast internet and the great outdoors; hear why Chattanooga has become a tech hub. Anna shares her love of math and how she got into programming. Creating your own boot camp and becoming a self-taught coder. How Anna landed her first gig, just two months after learning code. Music Artist, David Vaters New Christmas Holiday Classic, “Christmas Eve Forever”Christmas Holiday New Classic. A Holiday Tune for EveryoneChristmas Eve ForeverLISTEN NOWhttps://ffm.to/mx3avqo.oprChristmas Eve Forever By Talented David Vaters Sets to Be the New Christmas Holiday ClassicTis the season — for seasonal music. If you’re a little tired of the traditional song collections consider switching it up with new release from critically acclaimed and talented singer, songwriter David Vaters titled Christmas Eve Forever, a Christmas love song that has it all, Love, Santa and wishes come true. This song is destined to be the new Christmas Holiday Classic and the soundtrack should help spice up the Christmas spirit for you. This year, blockbuster songwriter David Vaters turned his prodigious talent to holiday tunes, coming up with a top-notch original song for the season. From November onwards, Christmas songs become ever more inescapable. You’ll hear them at any Christmas party, while you’re doing your Christmas shopping, and pretty much any time you turn on a TV or radio. When it comes to making your own Christmas playlist, you’ll probably want a perfect festive blend of tried and tested favorites and slightly less familiar yuletide tunes. Christmas Eve Forever has both in droves, so put on your Santa hat and get fully into the Christmas spirit. What makes a truly great Christmas song? There are plenty of good ones that are purely celebratory, but the real classics dig deeper into the full breadth of emotions we experience at Christmas. Even an absolute belter like 1973's Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade has complex undertones - it served as a demand to forget about the grim economic circumstances of the time, have fun and, "Look to the future now / It's only just begun."Sometimes Christmas songs become so familiar that we can grow immune to their inherent sadness, like with Wham!'s evergreen Last Christmas. But, as we'll find out, it's a crushing song of heartbreak but Christmas Eve Forever has an entire new concept of Love, Santa, wishes come true and more. ,ON SPOTIFYhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/42zvXH27ceRmSxYCik5rtO About VatersDavid Vaters passion as a singer/songwriter is something he could not hold back any longer. The backing vocals remind me of the sort of sound the Beatles had. Apart from drums and keyboards which are excellent, the Cd chugs along nicely without any disappointment. Very good, especially enjoyed the vocals and the songs. Nicely put together offering! Well done!David Markee - Former bass player for Eric Clapton"A very honest singer-songwriter album, with a Dylan-esque delivery of heartfelt lyrics to God, to family, to friends...very refreshing to hear."Bob FarrellGrammy Award - Songwriter/Producer"What a total breath of fresh air! This record is unique and original, and full of an element seemingly missing in music in general, it is the honest heart cry of a man birthed from the soul of David Vaters, this recording is full of songs about real life. our struggles and victories, and even the grief of saying goodbye.""It is my pleasure to recommend this collection of songs from one of the most original artist I've ever produced." THIS WEEK - REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS**some conditions apply SI and OG introduce tonight's topic, one of the Bush Administration's final gifts to the American public: a new set of U.S. Department of Health and Humans Services regulations addressing issues of freedom of conscience for health care professionals. These regulations, which apply to all American health care facilities that receive federal funds, greatly expand the rights of employees to decline participation in the provision of medical goods and services for reasons of personal conscience. Chappy questions whether some of these provisions will endanger people who may not receive essential, critical care. SI discusses the Church Amendments that pre-existed the current regulations and ponders whether the new rules are necessary, redundant or dangerously expansive. The discussion continues, as OG, SI and Chappy parse the possible meanings of the term "conscience laws." OG and SI also discuss why this issue is about the reproductive rights of all people, not just women. SI grows increasingly irritated throughout the discussion and questions the validity of tying funding for institutions to the ways in which individuals within institutions exercise their legal rights. He calms down later, as he notes why President Bush may not have had the last word on the matter after all. Find out the latest poll results then listen as OG reveals why she was pissed off all day.
