Interview by Kris PetersCanberra metal outfit St. Sinner are amongst the emerging breed of acts who are increasingly shunning expectation in favour of growth and expression. With a sound that is constantly morphing into a hybrid of styles and genres, St. Sinner recently showcased their intentions with the EP Identity Crisis, containing eight songs that exemplify the band's refusal to paint within the lines while blurring the conventional perception of reality. It is an EP that signifies musical evolution of the highest degree, setting St. Sinner on a path with destiny that is now firmly in their grasp, with one eye firmly planted in reality, in direct contrast to the wandering eye that refuses to yield.HEAVY caught up with frontman Rory Maclean to dive deeper into Identity Crisis and the immediate future of the band.We discussed Identity Crisis from a sonic viewpoint, with Rory emphasising St. Sinner's vision to create a narrative story with their releases, exploring a diverse musical approach each time. He provided insights into the creation of the opening title track and the evolution of the song Devil Boy and also delved into the inspiration, production, and themes of their songs Headcase, Villain, and Dysphoria.Rory elaborated on his strategy of associating different colours with the singles and chapters within Identity Crisis to enhance memorability for marketing and aesthetic purposes. He emphasized the importance of using them to create a cohesive visual identity and discussed the specific colours associated with each single. The conversation also discussed the inspiration behind the song Lost It and the decision to create an animated lyric video for the music clip, also talking about the guest artists who performed on the EP and what they brought musically.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

Neuroscience and biomedical engineering startup, BrainBridge, has announced a mind-bending concept that would allow a head to be grafted onto a donor body. The whole-body procedure involves transplanting a patient's head onto a healthy, brain-dead donor body, ensuring the preservation of consciousness, memories, and cognitive abilities. The company plans to employ high-speed robotic systems to prevent brain cell degradation and ensure seamless compatibility between the transplanted head and donor body. Medical ethicists have raised concerns, citing the tricky ethics of organ donation and the high risk for the patients involved. One word sums up my guest this week - ambition! He is, right now, taking exclusive appointments at no less than seven different salons in the US and Switzerland. Hailed by the professional beauty press as a rising star from his earliest days, he now has his own shears line and is world-renowned as a pioneer of dry cutting. I am excited to sit down with this week's Headcase, Mike Karg.- from the first time he saw Trevor Sorbie on stage in London he knew he wanted exactly that- his company, Karg Shears, was the first to cut hair in a booth at trade shows- Mike talks about his dry hair cutting process and what makes it so exceptional- how does Mike Kark decompress? Ultra running. I think I'll stick to cheerleading at the finish line, thanks ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Check out more episodes and the videos at https://chrisbaran.com/podcast ⭐️ Join our FREE Facebook community for Salon Team Trainers today. https://facebook.com/groups/salonteamtraining ✅ Exclusive content on how to implement and scale your salon training the easy way ✅ Save time and learn what works from people just like you ✅ Get back to your mission of building the salon business and creating more jobs Learn more here - https://bit.ly/trainersplaybook Join our FB group - https://facebook.com/groups/salonteamtraining Follow us on IG - https://instagram.com/coachchrisbaran

Brad kicks off this landmark Funbearable episode with MORE bizarre truths from his youth! It's appalling and we recommend fast-forwarding through that part. Video edit by Craig Depina @funbearablepod / funbearablepod.com #podcast #friends #funny #hotdogs #frenchfries

Chris K. Jones is an award-winning writer, former competitive athlete, and coach. His experiences with professional athletes in his youth shaped his interest in understanding the minds of athletes. Trying to mimic his heroes, he ignored the messages his body was sending him. After a series of broken bones, an eating disorder, and mental health issues, he knew he had to change. Chris turned to judo (translated as the “gentle way”), Buddhism, meditation, and intensive self-reflection to begin his journey to healing. This served as a pathway to understanding who he was on and off the mat and how to turn failure into success. Chris uses his imagination and suspenseful storytelling to raise awareness about generational trauma and mental health in sports. He splits his time between Tarrytown, NY, and Barbados. Chris K. Jones is an award-winning writer, former competitive athlete, and coach. His experiences in his youth with professional athletes shaped his interest in understanding the minds of athletes. Trying to mimic his heroes, he ignored the messages his body was sending him. After a series of broken bones, an eating disorder, and mental health issues, he knew he had to change. Chris turned to Judo, translated as the “gentle way,” Buddhism, meditation, and intensive self-reflection to begin his journey to healing. This served as a pathway to understanding who he was, on and off the mat, and how to turn failure into success. Chris uses his imagination and suspenseful storytelling to raise awareness about generational trauma and mental health in sports. Dani Vee and Jack Heath: Headcase. Writing, cannibals, challenges and self-doubt.
Nancy Jarecki, an entrepreneur and mother of three, didn't know what was hitting her as she walked the red carpet at Ali's Head Case premiere. What she thought was a strange little fainting spell was actually a subarachnoid hemorrhage. And while almost 50% of people do not make it, Nancy did. She shares the story of that day's events, the brain surgeries and many months of recovery, all of which, according to her doctors, were made better by her attitude and optimism. She seems to think that having part of her skull sewn into her abdominal wall for “safe keeping” is a hoot. And it kinda is! Let's just say that keeping a sense of humor is also part of the story. If you have questions or guest suggestions, Ali would love to hear from you. Call or text her at (323) 364-6356. Or email go-ask-ali-podcast-at-gmail.com. Headcase: Book 1: Shock & Denial by Chris K. Jones Chriskjones.com Dr. Andrew Beck is the go-to sports psychologist for troubled pro athletes. There isn't a head he can't fix—except his own. Whether it's a violent hockey pro, reckless power forward, or drug-addicted major league pitcher, Andrew's therapeutic strategies get players out of their heads and back to their winning ways. His status, wealth, and privilege afford him box seats for every game, flying private, an office overlooking Central Park, sports cars, country clubs and a Greenwich mansion. Andrew and his brilliant PR executive wife, Sandra, enjoy a life most would envy. But Andrew has demons of his own. A former golf prodigy and the son of a Masters Golf Champion, he knows firsthand the stress of topflight competition. Ted Beck taught Andrew everything he knows about being the best, but his father's emotional and physical abuse pushed him past a breaking point. At 18, as the country's top amateur, he walked away from golf to pursue psychology. The father and son bond was destroyed. But while Beck quit the game long ago, the game won't quit him. Years later, the drive to win at all costs still burns deep in his soul. He gets entangled in the world of illegal high-stakes gambling—and a dangerous relationship with Fergus Mackenzie, a ruthless operator of an underground club that caters to the vices of the ultra-wealthy. Andrew uses his insider access to athletes in a wager which leads down a path of blackmail, a mysterious murder, and life-or-death bluffing. With his livelihood, marriage, and life on the line, Andrew finds himself playing the ultimate mind game and risks losing everything. And now the only way out is ALL-IN.
“He’s a headcase!” We’ve all heard it as coaches. Maybe we’ve even said it. In this episode, Jon and Steve discuss why this is the wrong approach to take. It’s a self-limiting mindset, that allows the coach to blame the athlete, shirk responsibility, and in doing so defer their responsibility to help figure out what’s…
THE THESIS: There can be no compromise on this issue: we are the only ones God has called to fight this Minister of Truth, fame-hungry, ill-balanced, vicious young woman trained in propaganda and convinced of her special place in history. THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES: Genesis 1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. 6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. 9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day. 14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day. 20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day. 24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” 29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. Matthew 4:3-5 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'[a]” 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. THE NEWS & COMMENT: [AUDIO] - Just stop everything and watch this absolutely firey exchange between @chiproytx and @SecMayorkas. Devastating questioning from Roy challenging Mayorkas on his support for Biden's intentional border crisis. On April 19, the National Sheriffs' Association and the Border Sheriffs wrote to Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer, urging them to retain Title 42 authority for Customs and Border officers. The letter, embedded below, is brief but powerful. [AUDIO] - Nina Jancowinz, the 33 year old Minister of Truth sings about disinformation [AUDIO] - . . . Then, she offers this: the most condescending explanation of Biden firing the Ukrainian prosecutor that I have ever heard, and she tops it off with: “Now you can get back to watching Netflix, Zoom happy hours, and washing your hands” (smirk) But, instead of focusing on this woman's self-clowning narcissism, Jeff Bezo's WA-PO attacks a black man for changing his mind about serving the Democrat plantation. How a former NBA player and activist became a far-right media darling THE LISTENERS: Hi Todd! I'm writing you from the separate country of Washington state. Recently I was able to rekindle a relationship with my dad.. something that was long past due. Ah, life can get messy and I'm glad we were able to clean it up. The thing I've missed the most are our visits and random phone calls. Yesterday morning he called me and said “hey hon, what are you doing? Watching the view?” We both had a good laugh. I responded that I was folding laundry and listening to my favorite podcaster, Todd Herman. He was thrilled (and proud). Come to find out he has been a fan of yours for years but hasn't listened since you left KTTH. He doesn't know how to podcast and I promised to hook him up this coming weekend when we get together for Sunday dinner so he doesn't miss another day of the greatest podcast ever! He asked me if you still do the personal note at the end of the show.. it made me smile when he asked that. That was also one of my favorite parts of the show. Always a touching story that made me release and breathe at the end of hashing out all the evil we are living in. Sadly, my dad is sick and we don't know how much longer he has but we are not wasting another day. Your podcast and the evil in this world has brought me closer to God. I was always a believer but rarely spoke his name. I thank you for bringing me closer to our creator. My life is better because of it. It is comforting to know that even though I've missed many years with my dad on this side, I will get eternity with him one day in heaven. If you can find some time in your day to add more personal notes, my dad and I will BOTH be listening and smiling together. Thank you for all you d Kelli A PERSONAL NOTE: See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
When asked about the new Disinformation Governance Board chief, neither Jen Psaki nor Alejandro Mayorkas seemed to know much about her. Today another Nina Jankowicz vid has surfaced!
