Wednesday Night Service on 1-15-25 with "His Joy, Our Strength" - Brother Darren Hansen -- "When God Shows Up" - Brother Rob Carlson
Life can be difficult at times. We have moments we must fight for Joy. The Joy of the Lord is our refuge we run to in dark moments. His Joy becomes your strength. Merry Christmas!
John 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." Jesus is saying that when His disciples went to others with the message of salvation, as He had done, some people would believe and others would not. Reaction to their ministry would be the same as reaction to His had been. He viewed their forgiving and retaining the sins of their hearers as the actions of God's agents. If anyone believed the gospel, the disciples could tell the believers that God had forgiven their sins. If they disbelieved, they could tell them that God had not forgiven but retained their sins. Jesus had done this (cf. 9:39-41), and now His disciples would continue to do it. Thus their ministry would be a continuation of His ministry relative to the forgiveness of sins, as it would be in relation to the Spirit's enablement. This, too, applies to all succeeding generations of Jesus' disciples since Jesus was still talking about the disciples' mission. 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. In His high priestly prayer in John 17, Jesus does not ask the Father to send the Spirit, which He has promised in chapters 14-16. Indeed, the Holy Spirit is not even mentioned in this prayer! How can this be? I believe that while our Lord prepared His disciples for the coming of the Spirit in the Upper Room Discourse, He did not intend to send the Spirit until after His ascension. In other words, the Holy Spirit would not come until Pentecost. Some suggest that in our text Jesus is temporarily bestowing the Spirit upon His disciples, until Pentecost comes. I don't agree. In the first place, John does not report anything out of the ordinary happening as a result of our Lord's actions. The disciples are not transformed, as they will be at Pentecost. The gospel is not preached. In fact, the next thing to happen in John's Gospel is that some of the disciples go fishing. I do not believe that the Holy Spirit was immediately bestowed upon the disciples at this moment, as a result of what Jesus says and does. I believe Jesus is symbolically bestowing the Spirit upon His disciples, although it will not actually take place until Pentecost. Jesus will have ascended to the Father then, and so this gesture indicates to the disciples that when the Spirit comes at Pentecost, it will be as a result of what Jesus had promised earlier, and symbolically indicates here. I wish to be very clear here, both as to what I am saying, and as to what I am not saying. I am saying that our Lord is here symbolically bestowing His Holy Spirit on the church. This symbolic act will literally be fulfilled at Pentecost. Jesus wants it to be clear that it is He who is sending His Spirit to indwell and to empower His church. I am not saying that the Spirit is given at the moment Jesus breathes upon His disciples. I am not saying that this is a temporary bestowal of the Spirit, until the permanent coming of the Spirit at Pentecost. Specifically, I believe that what Jesus is symbolically bestowing is the coming of the Holy Spirit upon His disciples as those who will act as His apostles. Earlier, Jesus outlined some of the ministries of the Holy Spirit. For example, the Spirit would call Jesus' teaching to their minds. He would convict the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. But here, none of these ministries seems to be in view. Here, the Holy Spirit is given to the apostles so that they can either proclaim the forgiveness of sins, or the retention of sins. I do not think this text justifies some priestly hierarchy, who hears confessions and grants absolution from one's sins. Instead, I believe Jesus is giving the apostles the authority to declare men and women to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. I believe we see an example of this in the Book of Acts: Acts 11:1-18, Furthermore there is no evidence that when Thomas returned to the scene Jesus gave him the Spirit as one would expect if the Spirit's presence was essential for the disciples then (v. 26-29) It also explains why this event had no changing effect on the disciples. Evidently there was only one coming of the Spirit on these disciples, and that happened on Pentecost. The ‘breathing' of the Spirit is John's way of describing the commissioning of Jesus' disciples. This is John's version of the great Commission given to the Apostles The disciples are now apostles — those who are sent to pioneer and protect the church. [i] He breathes on them and this raises another theological host of questions that is a great area of study on your own. We know that when the disciples were on the earth they were His representatives. They had His power at times. We know that from the Gospel accounts that He sent them out and they performed miracles empowered by the Holy Spirit. We know in the Old Testament that Saul had the Holy Spirit removed from Him and David even prayed after His own tragic sin, “Take not your Spirit from me.” Right? So we know the Holy Spirit could empower and indwell believers, but the Holy Spirit was not a permanent resident until Pentecost, or Acts chapter two when the birth of the church and that fulfills the New Covenant and the Holy Spirit comes and indwells the believer. So what's happening here is a great field of study. I think a number of things are going on. I think when you go back to Genesis 2:7 and I believe Jesus Christ, as a theophany, has made a dirt Adam on His hands and knees. That's my sanctified imagination. He's from the dirt of the ground. He's formed a man in His image. He breathes life into that dirt and it becomes a living man. And Adam is made in His image, a bearer of His image. The animal kingdom was not, Adam was. This first Adam. The second Adam, according to Romans two, is Jesus Christ without sin. And now the second Adam has been buried and resurrected and He breathes on, imparting the new life of the Spirit that is only possible from the Holy Spirit from Christ. He has to go to the Father to be able send the Spirit permanently. So what's happening here seems to be not unlike how He empowered them perhaps in their ministry. But pre-resurrection He somehow is imparting His Spirit to them in a unique way and then it's tied to this issue of the forgiveness of sins. Ezekiel 37:5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life. This is possibly an Aramaic idiom meaning “he gave them courage.” That encouragement was in the form of a promise of the Holy Spirit. It takes a monumental work of God to convince the Jews that God has purposed from eternity past to save Gentiles (see Acts 22:21-23). Our Lord had promised to send the Spirit, which He did at Pentecost. After Pentecost, the Holy Spirit directed Peter to go to the house of a Gentile and to proclaim the gospel to those gathered in his house. The Spirit then came upon all those who had come to faith, thus indicating that the gospel (the forgiveness of sins) was not just for Jews alone, but for all who believe, Jew or Gentile. It is difficult for Gentile believers today to grasp how hard it was for Jews to accept the salvation of the Gentiles. Even the apostles found this difficult. As the Spirit came upon the apostles, this truth was embraced, proclaimed, and defended by them. By means of the Spirit's guidance and illumination, the truth that the gospel was for Jews and Gentiles was declared by the apostles, and particularly by Paul: Ephesians 2:11-22 23 "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained. Mt 16:19; 18:18 This relates both to those who share the Gospel and to those who respond by faith. Someone with the gospel knowledge chooses to share it and someone hears it and chooses to receive it. Both aspects are required. [ii] This verse does not give arbitrary authority to clergy, but wonderful life-giving power to believing witnesses! “Their sins have been forgiven them” The grammatical construction implies God's forgiveness, is available completely through gospel proclamation. Believers have the keys of the kingdom (cf. Matt. 16:19) if they will only use them. This promise is to the Church, not individuals. This is theologically similar to “the bound and unbound” of Matt. 18:18.[iii] Matthew 16:19 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth 8will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” John 8:32 set free This was a metaphor for gaining entrance. The keys are the proclamation of the gospel with an invitation to respond.[iv] Matthew 18:18 18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Forgiveness of sins Jesus mentions in verse twenty-three I do not think empowers an individual to absolve people of sin. I think what He's saying here is that the message of the resurrection is forgiveness and when you preach the gospel of Jesus Christ raised from the dead, you must preach forgiveness. Essentially what Jesus is saying here is the Gospel message must, in this context, include the issue of forgiveness. And that we as believers are the only ones who have the proclamation of the forgiveness of sin. Apart from Christ there is no forgiveness for our sins, that's the message, and only in Christ, only understanding the resurrected Christ, will you have the forgiveness of sin, according to the New Covenant. Well, the disciples are to proclaim this and that's part of the mission that they will have. The Great Commission not only requires supernatural power to carry it out (v. 22), but it also involves the forgiveness of sins (cf. Jer. 31:31-34; Matt.26:28). In the similar passages in Matthew 16:19 and 18:18, the context is church discipline. Here the context is evangelism. The second part of each conditional clause in this verse is in the passive voice and the perfect tense in the Greek text. The passive voice indicates that someone has already done the forgiving or retaining. That person must be God since He alone has the authority to do that (Matt. 9:2-3; Mark 2:7; Luke 5:21). The perfect tense indicates that the action has continuing effects; the sins stand forgiven or retained permanently. Jesus appears to have been saying that when His disciples went to others with the message of salvation, as He had done, some people would believe and others would not. Reaction to their ministry would be the same as reaction to His had been. He viewed their forgiving and retaining the sins of their hearers as the actions of God's agents. If people ("any" or "anyone," plural Gr. tinon) believed the gospel, the disciples could tell the believers that God had forgiven their sins. All who proclaim the gospel are in effect forgiving or not forgiving sins, depending on whether the hearer accepts or rejects the Lord Jesus as the Sin-Bearer." Who can forgive sins but God only?” (Mark 2:7) All that the Christian can do is announce the message of forgiveness; [v] This resurrection appearance has threefold importance in John's Gospel. It validated again Jesus' bodily resurrection It provided the setting for the commissioning of Jesus' disciples. It also provided the background for Jesus' appearance when Thomas was present and Thomas' climactic statement of faith that followed (vv. 24-29). Lessons Trust God in every situation 2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Ro 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? god has given us peace and joy vs 20 Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! Romans 5:1-11 We have peace with God and the Peace of God and His Joy god has left us here to fulfill a mission Vs 21 As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." 23 "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." We are called to go tell others about Jesus and what He has done for us and give them peace, joy and freedom too Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32 Our mission is to spread the gospel and to go to the least of these with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ; We reach out to those the World has forgotten. hisloveministries.podbean.com #HLMSocial hisloveministries.net https://www.instagram.com/hisloveministries1/?hl=en His Love Ministries on Itunes Don't go for all the gusto you can get, go for all the God (Jesus Christ) you can get. We all need Joy in our lives. Without Joy,we flounder. But instead of chasing the temorary joy of this earth, what if we could find constant, eternal Joy that never wavers. Imagine the confidence that would come to us. Thankfully the Lord offers us His Joy and we can have it forever. Blessings!
This is a Holy Spirit inspired sermon about His Joy no matter what the circumstance. Listen, take notes, and share
I declare that my heart has caught a joyful sound and therefore I walk in the light of the countenance of the Lord. The Joy of the Lord washes over my soul like a river and it washes away the mud of depressive thoughts and evil imaginations. His joy flows to every crevice of my being and dismantles any structures mounted by the enemy. His Joy swallows up fatigue, despair and worn out faith in Jesus' name. Leaving my heart, mind and soul utterly refreshed. His Joy in me is infectious and it gushes forth and everyone in my path partakes of this joy. I laugh with abandon through my daily tasks and to do's. I laugh through difficult and uncertain moments. Counting it all joy knowing that every trial is on assignment to build vital spiritual muscles in me. I laugh the laugh of a victor taking my cue from the Lord As His word says “He who sits in Heaven laughs”, You can afford to laugh when you know that you are on the winning side. I rejoice as I take account of the goodness of the Lord and his faithfulness in time past. But as for me, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord With my mouth shall I make known his faithfulness to all generations. So help me spirit of the Living God This is Sassy and I pray the release of the Kingdom of God into your life. This world of ours has little joy, real joy. Perhaps there exists some sort of superficial happiness, but transient and really unfulfilling, but little more.It seems that so much of our world is sad, hopeless in feeling, even hateful. Our world is angry, antagonistic, so very jealous and greedy, negative in so many ways.I wonder, are you afraid, feeling uncertain and insecure, perhaps even from time to time hateful and angry, untrusting, are you? I wonder sometimes, how much of the joy of Christianity, rejoicing in the relationship with Jesus Christ, in possession of a thankful heart, the promises of the Son of God have been lost as the wiles of the devil seem to permeate this world. The carpenter of Nazareth, the Son of the Living God, told us quite plainly that He came not only to forgive but to bring us who believe His JOY that our lives may be full, full of that joy. How tragic it would be if once we have met him, and believed in Him, that the joy of our relationship with Him should be tarnished, even eliminated by the ever-growing hateful things in this world. And more. REJOICE, said He, and even more:BE EXCEEDINGLY GLAD.Let gladness permeate your heart, your mind, your emotions, your attitude, your entire life. Be happy, no matter what. For not only are you forgiven but you are born again into a brand-new life of joy, happiness, and rejoicing! I wonder if you take time every day, EVERY DAY, to rejoice, rejoice in Him and for the life you should have now, and you will definitely have hereafter. Do you?The Apostle Paul tells us to give thanks, GIVE THANKS IN EVERYTHING, the good, the bad, the average, the day-to-day, IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS, thanks to God for His unspeakable gift. Do you? The strongest possession any Christian can have is a thankful heart. And our Lord says that we should love our enemies. Is there anything harder to do in this world than that? When someone identifies as an enemy, comes at you, does you wrong, hurts you or ones you love, is there anything harder than to love that person? But, the love we have for Jesus Christ never fails, transcends everything, is stronger than anything and it is always there, always. Our God is love and we his people should love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves, even if that neighbor is our enemy so says the scripture. That essential principle, that basic tenet of Christianity, that emotional command, is the hardest thing for any Christian to do, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, IT IS THE MOST REWARDING! We should never accept the wrong, but we should always love the wrongdoer, thus saith the Lord. To carry a grudge, to return hate with hate, to get even, to make a wrongdoer pay, works havoc on the believer, even more so than the evildoer. Be glad, be happy says our Lord when you are persecuted for His name's sake, when evil comes after good, and never forget, NEVER that ultimately:GREAT IS YOUR REWARD IN HEAVEN!Even, says HE, if you weep now, you will laugh sooner or later. YOU WILL LAUGH, you will be happy. Never forget that. You will laugh, you will be happy as David says in the Psalms, even as our Lord laughs at the wicked. Full belief in the love of God in Jesus Christ can do nothing but make one, the believer, be glad, rejoice, be happy and LAUGH!The smile, the facial smile, the real smile is a rarity today. The heavy heart makes for a sad face. The happy heart, the loving heart produces a cheerful face as Solomon tells us in Proverbs. Our Lord confirms that when he tells us that we should:BE OF GOOD CHEER!Life is short, so very short, and any hour of any day spent glum, sad, angry, jealous, or hateful is simply the waste of a part of THE DAY WHICH THE LORD HAS MADE! The spirit of the loving God is at the ready to help, to remind you of this part of your life which you are wasting. Be glad, says the spirit of the living God, and rejoice, and always remember, says the Lord:I AM COME THAT YOUR JOY MIGHT BE FULL!I AM COME THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE LIFE AND LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY!And more. James tells us that the happy heart breaks out in singing, singing songs of love, praise, and joy. David confirms in the Psalms when he tells us to be glad and sing for joy. Even if you can't carry a tune, sing anyway. Sing songs of praise every day, let your heart sing, be cheerful, be glad, be happy, and never let any part of this sad world, this world hateful, angry, jealous, and itself without joy, bring you down. NEVER!When the rich man met the Lord Jesus Christ, He sold everything he had, and he did so with JOY. Nothing mattered to him but the joy he found in Jesus Christ. Never forget, my fellow Christians, that a cheerful heart is good medicine. It heals like nothing else, and also remember the wise words of Solomon in Proverbs that:A CRUSHED SPIRIT DRIES UP THE BONES!Avoid at all costs the dry bones of Ezekiel. Every day, even all day, you can live with the joy, the happiness, the rejoicing that our Lord provides, which is only a taste of that JOY TO COME!So, in everything give thanks. In the testings, the trials and tribulations, the sicknesses, the losses, the betrayals, the hateful, the persecution, give thanks, be grateful, for our Lord who never left the Apostle Paul when he suffered in the dungeon all alone, will never leave us. The key to claiming that promise, says the Apostle Paul, is to give thanks:GIVE THANKS IN EVERYTHING.And that is especially so when the trials, the tribulations, the persecutions, the hurt and the pain are the worst. When life is at its worst, our Lord is at HIS BEST.Now abides safe in Him, hope in Him, and the love because of Him. Never let go of a cheerful heart any hour of any day. That is what the Lord of the abundant life wants for YOU!
The Friday before Easter Sunday is known as “Good Friday”. It is a day recognized and celebrated by followers of JESUS all around the world! Some might think, “well it wasn't such a good day for JESUS”, and while I understand that line of thinking, it truly misses the heart of the Gospel and the heart of our Savior. The scriptures tell us: “FOR THE JOY SET OUT FOR HIM HE ENDURED THE CROSS, DISREGARDING ITS SHAME…” Hebrews 12:2 (NET1). God's Word doesn't say that JESUS “enjoyed” the mockery of the phony trials, or the brutal beating known as the “half-death”, or the humiliation and torture of death through crucifixion. It does say there was a “joy” for JESUS through it all! If you've personally entrusted your life to Him, you were part of that joy He was experiencing on that first “Good Friday”. What an incredible Savior we have! In this Easter Sunday message, Pastor Joe Still leads us to celebrate all that HE has joyfully done for us. It will increase HIS Joy, and ours

Joyful Christmas! Our prayer this Christmas season is that the reminder of the birth of Christ serves to reignite your passion to respond to Christ's love daily, and that your hope for eternity will be renewed to dominate your heart and mind! What should be The Most Wonderful Time of the Year; is for some of us overshadowed by Stress, Anxiety, Isolation or loneliness, Depression. Sometimes, making our way through the Holidays we just need to be reminded what this celebration is all about. So let's pause, take a deep breath and listen to some Good News! Our speaker, this month is Ben Cachiaras, lead minister with Mountain Christian Church, Joppa, Maryland. It has been said; Happiness comes from what happens to you from without, Joy comes from what is within. Real Joy comes from a relationship with the God who designed you to walk in His Joy. The wondrous works of God through history are too many to name. ~~~ Are you heading into this Christmas full of awe and wonder? I hope you are, but if we're honest, doesn't our awe and wonder get easily replaced with anxiety and weariness? Those aren't the gifts God has for us. Those need to be returned. Remember the awe and wonder of Christmas you had as a child? What if I told you God wants you to live each day with that same awe and wonder? Oh Lori, that's not possible. I've put away childish things and I live in the real world now of obligations, stress, and seriousness and my face must show it. Listen, if that's how you feel and sadly if that's how you life your life, you're missing out on one of the greatest things about God. He IS a God of wonders. Psalm 77:14 You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples. Exodus 15:11 Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? The wonders of God, the things we can't explain or even understand, are what lead us to be in AWE of God. He spoke this amazing world and all creation into being. He spoke the stars into place. He knew you before you were born. All the days of your life have been determined. The wind and waves obey Him. Waters parted, fire sent down from heaven, the mouths of lions closed and centuries old prophesies fulfilled. The root of Jesse foretold. An angel's birth announcement, a virgin birth, and every miracle, sign and wonder throughout scripture and the redeeming, miracle working power of God in my own life, all point to the omnipotent WONDER of God. Today, maybe you need to unwrap and receive the gift of WONDER. The eyes of a child on Christmas morning are full of joy, excitement and wonder of it all. They aren't trying to figure it all out. We lose that innocence as we grow up. We think we have to have it all figured out and as a result, we miss the moments of wonder God still has for us to discover. It's IN those moments we discover MORE of who HE is. His never ending love for us. His new morning mercy waiting for us. We feel His JOY and PEACE within us as we walk through the valleys and storms. We find REST when the world around us is in chaos. OH THE amazing WONDER of it all. The miracle of God WITH us should bring us to our knees in awe and wonder of His amazing love every day. Turn you eyes back to the God of wonder and follow Him. Two thousand years ago, a star of wonder led the wise men to Jesus. They couldn't quite figure it out, but they knew they HAD to follow it! It was bigger than they were. The wonder of it and the miracle of it and the prophesy foretold in Numbers 24:17 could not be overlooked. “A Star shall come out of Jacob;”.They were watching for what could not be explained, but for what they believed. Their eyes were open to the wonder and miracles unfolding. They didn't want to miss it. Messiah had come. Psalm 40:5 Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. The wondrous works of God throughout history and throughout this day, are too many to declare. If you've lost sight of them, take a fresh look. The wonders and mysteries of God are not to be figured out, they're simply there to be received. That's the truth. Open the gift of wonder. As you do, your eyes will begin to see beyond the circumstances of this day and you'll experience the wonder and love of God through it. It's a beautiful gift. I'm Lori Cline.
I know you can feel something moving, something stirring, something rising in you, AS you. I know you've felt it for some time, and often it just makes you feel anxious or frustrated. In this episode we are continuing to look at the teaching of Christ-Jesus and His Course in Miracles in regard to the idea of His Will and our choice for It. You choose to rather recognize the Truth of what you are, to be one with Him and the experience of union with each other and your Source. We are acknowledging the Holy Spirit as Our Guide helping us to re-interpret time into timelessness, so that our Home is understood as eternity, and not of temporal existence as part of this world. Increasing this in His Name by sharing it will increase His Joy in us. ◊ We are sharing A Course in Miracles as given in in the Notes correlating with — chapter 5-IV-10-end of the Complete & Annotated Edition, published in FIP-Edition as chapter 5–III-8-end, and parts of the daily Lessons 329 & 330 of the Workbook — ACIM-Reflections (96) with Devavan.YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhKoK14mYZA

Overcoming Through the Fiery Trials (Audio) David Eells - 3/22/23 Running the Race With Diligence Samuel Fire - 12/8/22 (David's notes in red) I had a vision of a nice sunny day; the weather was perfect. (This represents when everything is going well in our lives.) I saw a man driving a racing car around a racetrack. (This man represents every believer who is running their own race. Heb. 12:1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.) He competed his laps with the help of his racing team. (The driving team represents fellowship with our brethren, who are in Christ, helping us complete our daily driving course.) He was driving very well and fast. He didn't crash and he made no error. He was very happy and pleased with his accomplishments. After he completed his daily racing, he thought about the day and then he spoke with his racing team and friends about how it all went and what needs to be maintained on the car. (Representing how we fellowship with other brethren in the Body of Christ. We all have different roles, but we all help each other out.) 1Co 14:26 What is it then, brethren? When ye come together, each hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation. Let all things be unto edifying. Maintaining the car is representing feeding our spiritual man with the Word and prayer and fellowship in Jesus every day; abiding in Christ.) Joh 6:51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world. Joh 6:63 It is the Spirit that maketh alive; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. The next day the weather was rainy. (representing trials and tribulation) It made it very difficult for the man racing on the track and he almost crashed. He had many struggles, and he was very frustrated as nothing was going smooth like the day before, there were many trials for him. Mat 6:34 Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof. He was so upset after driving that he didn't think about everything or properly discuss with his racing team what had happened. (He chose to wallow in the flesh, rather than rest in Christ and seek prayer and help from brethren.) All he wanted to do was go home and rest (in the flesh), so he didn't maintain the car at all. (When we give in to discouragement and frustration, we are feeding our flesh and sabotaging our individual race. Rom. 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.) The next day the weather was much better, however the car was not performing well. He regretted having not maintained the car the day before and didn't achieve good results. (He hadn't filled up in prayer and the Word, so it was more difficult) The man was upset and filled with guilt, shame and self-condemnation for not discussing with his racing team and for not maintaining the car the previous day. Job 9:20 Though I be righteous, mine own mouth shall condemn me: Though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse. After this race he spoke about it with his racing team at length and they did proper maintenance with the car. (Representing repentance and getting back on track.) 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Mat 6:33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. The following day he went to the track to race and there were many other drivers also racing on the track. There was a big crowd of people watching him and many other distractions. (This represents trials in various forms to test and refine our walk in Christ. We must maintain vigilance and focus on Him.) 1Co 7:35 And this I say for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for what is seemly, and assiduous toward the Lord without distraction. Mar 4:19 and the cares of the age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 1Co 10:13 Only human temptation hath overtaken you: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way out, that ye be able to endure it. Each day has its own trials, and it is all to perfect us into Christ. Php. 3:12 Not that I have already received, or am already made perfect: but I follow on, if so be that I may apprehend that for which also I was apprehended by Christ Jesus. 1 Co. 9:24-27 Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain. 25 And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown; but we incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so, fight I, as not beating the air: 27 but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected. Tried by Fire Samuel Fire - 12/9/22 (David's notes in red) I sought the Lord because I was curious if hell fire [or torment] is Holy fire [or the Lord's refining process] and I heard the Lord say, “Yes. Anything that cannot, or totally refuses to be, connected with Me, is to be tormented. The torment and hell are the weeping and gnashing of the teeth where the fire does not cease from burning. The end for everything is either completely destroyed and removed into this judgement, or remains cleansed and refined with Me. I am an all-consuming Fire. 1Co. 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work shall abide which he built thereon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire. 2Pe 3:7 but the present heavens, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against a day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly men. Heb 12:29 For our God is indeed a consuming fire. Lev 20:26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I, Jehovah, am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that ye should be mine. That which is remaining, will experience judgement of hell, the process of refinement of My Holiness. As nothing can live without Me, there is nothing for the evil to live with, but only the Holy Spirit which burns until eternity. (He guides and convicts us, and the fire consumes all that is evil.) Act 17:24-25 The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 neither is he served by men's hands, as if he needed anything, he himself giving to all life, and breath, and all things; Mat 3:11-12 I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but who cometh after me is mightier than I: whose shoes I am not fit to bear: HE shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire: 12 whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor and gather his grain into the garner, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire. Joh 16:8 And HE, coming, will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 2Th 2:8 And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the spirit of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his presence: Job 4:9 By the breath of God they perish, And by the blast of his anger are they consumed. (Job was a righteous man but not yet manifesting perfection so, he went through the fiery trials until he was gold.) I then remembered Meshach, Shadrach and Abed-Nego were not harmed, as their faith was in the Lord God. Only their bonds were burned up, as well as the enemy who threw them in and Nebuchadnezzar's command to serve idols were all eliminated. Dan 3:22-28 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste: he spake and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods. 26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace: he spake and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the Most High God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth out of the midst of the fire. 27 And the satraps, the deputies, and the governors, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power upon their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed, neither were their hosen changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them. (Get rid of your flesh now so it won't have to burn later.) 28 Nebuchadnezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. Our Father is the silversmith. Pro 17:3 The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; But Jehovah trieth the hearts. Isa 1:25 and I will turn my hand upon thee, and thoroughly purge away thy dross, and will take away all thy tin. Pro 25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, And there cometh forth a vessel for the refiner: Mal 3:2-3 But who can abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: 3 and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer unto Jehovah offerings in righteousness. We are to be wise and be purified. Dan 12:10 Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but they that are wise shall understand. Zec 13:9 And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God. Zep 2:2-3 before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Jehovah come upon you, before the day of Jehovah's anger come upon you. 3 Seek ye Jehovah, all ye meek of the earth, that have kept his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye will be hid in the day of Jehovah's anger. An attachment to evil, is clinging to the very thing the Lord wants to burn-off and remove. It hurts those who won't let go of evil and the refining process of fire continues until only what remains is Holy and Pure. With the completion in the sanctification of washing with the Water of the Word, all are then solidified, hardened and unchangeable by their faith in Him. Rom 12:9 Let the love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cleave to what is good. Eph 5:10-11 proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord; 11 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them. Num 31:22-24 howbeit the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead, 23 everything that may abide the fire, ye shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make to go through the water. 24 And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterward ye shall come into the camp. 1Pe 1:7 that the proving of your faith, more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ: Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou be rich; and white garments, that thou be clothed, and the shame of thy nakedness be not manifested,: and eye salve to anoint thine eyes, that thou see. 1Th 5:21-22 but prove all things; hold fast what is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil. Psa 97:10 O ye that love Jehovah, hate evil: He preserveth the souls of his saints; He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Seeking and allowing the Lord to do His good will through us for His pleasure [is the goal]. Php 2:12-13 So that, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure. The demons tremble at His presence, knowing their just and righteous judgement is pending. Jas 2:19 THOU believest that God is one; thou doest well: the demons also believe, and shudder. Nothing can withstand the Fires of God. Nah 1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him. God is Almighty and All Powerful, (omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience) nothing can compare. He is Sovereign overall. His Name is above every name. His Word is above all. Psa 115:3 But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever he pleased. Isa 55:11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Jer 32:17 Ah Lord Jehovah! behold, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thine outstretched arm; there is nothing too hard for thee, Pro 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap; But the whole disposing thereof is of Jehovah. Php 2:9 Wherefore also God highly exalted him and endowed him with the name above every name. Psa 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. Something that is burned as hot as possible, emits light. We are to be the light of the Lord. Mat 5:16 Thus let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in the heavens. Pro 4:18 But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light, That shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Php 2:15 that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as luminaries in the world, Exposure to the Fire and Light, the Perfect Power of God, [causes the darkness to flee away, if we cooperate with His Spirit.] Joh 3:19-21 And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil. 20 For everyone that practiced evil things hateth the light, and cometh not unto the light, that his works be not reproved. 21 But who doeth the truth cometh unto the light, that his works be manifested that they have been wrought in God. [His fire] either comforts with warmth or burns to ashes; fire is of the Lord to bring us to righteous power or judgement. Luk 12:49 A fire came I to cast upon the earth; and what do I desire, if it is already kindled? The burning bush in Exodus, did not get consumed, nor did it harm Moses. Exo 3:2 And the angel of Jehovah appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. I felt that the Lord has revealed this to me how I can understand it. These are the very things God does not want in His Kingdom. (Pride, arrogance, religious spirits and so on). These were and are in myself! But we are to see ourselves sanctified and perfected in Christ already seated in Heavenly places! Gal 5:16-17 But I say, Walk in Spirit, and ye shall in no wise fulfill the lusts of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary one to another; that ye may not do what things ye would. We all are going through this process whether we are about to enter, or are already entered, or have had most of it cleansed. It is in this time [of the fiery trial] that we can see and understand. We have to have the faith to see the end in view and also to look back at what the Lord has already done! (Amen!) I Am With You Always Tiannah Fire - 11/18/22 (David's notes in red) I dreamt that I was hanging out with Jesus in the physical. He was so wonderful, sweet, and gentle; better than any words I could describe. He looked like a normal man; however, He was bright and wearing a glowing white garment. Extreme Joy, Peace, Love and so many other brilliant feelings that I can't describe, were radiating from Him. I felt complete, absolute freedom and the ability to praise Him in full. I felt more Joy than I have ever felt before. It was Pure and Holy, and I felt so much Love for Him and every other soul. I wanted to share Him with everyone. I felt no evil feelings or thoughts that the enemy tries to trick us with in the flesh. It was all gone and there was complete freedom as if the Holy Spirit was manifesting through my flesh. I wanted everyone else to be with Him also and everyone to have His Love, Joy, and Peace. I was so excited for others to hang out with Him too. So, we went around together knocking on doors in the neighborhood. I was proclaiming His magnificence to the people and inviting them to hang out with us. I would talk about how wonderful He is even though He was standing right there next to me. I wanted each of the people we spoke to, to be with Him. No one else could see Him but I was speaking as if they could see Him. I wanted to share Him with everyone. I wanted everyone to have His Joy, Peace, Love and Grace and I told them that He is the best and nothing can compare to Him. Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come into him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To my disappointment for them, most of the people shut their door in our face, others would hear and listen to what I said about Jesus and His Word but didn't want to hang out with Him. There wasn't anyone in that neighborhood that wanted to hang out with Jesus and to partake in His Joy and Peace and Love. I could not understand why they didn't want to, and I grieved for them. Ezekiel 12:2 Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of the rebellious house, that have eyes to see, and see not, that have ears to hear, and hear not; for they are a rebellious house. Jesus led me over to a park with a playground that was in the center of the neighborhood we were in. He started swinging me on the grass, around in circles and we danced together in union. He was very playful and loving and I trusted Him and knew that He wouldn't let me go or let me fall. I was so happy and excited, like a young child, and I wanted others to share this Joy. I couldn't understand why others didn't want to dance with Jesus and be with Him. Jesus had come to spend a short time with me and then had to go back to our Father. I felt that He had things He wanted me to do here and that I was to go to other towns speaking about Him to those who would hear. (I believe this describes our initial salvation experience. Once we are stronger in our faith He tends to withdraw as we learn to walk by faith more and more in our assurance of our salvation. We are, after all, saved by faith and not by how we feel or human experience.) So, I was back alone on earth, but I was so filled with Joy and praise for our Father and King. I arrived at this city, and I was on a hill looking from above and could see everything. It was in the middle of the day; however everything was dark and there was no sun. Everything was black and it felt as if a blanket was covering this world. (This describes the curse of sin and death that covers the earth and those who are earthly.) I felt so much Joy and started singing, "I've longed to see again, The moving of His Spirit. To know The Glory that our Father talked about. These surely are the days of restoration, but our Lord has only just begun. He's just begun to move again in our generation. Although He's done so much, He still will do much more. So let your eyes take hold of a new vision. For our Lord has only just begun. The lame to walk, the deaf to hear, the blind to see. The voice of God is found through all the earth. These are the days of Glorious resurrection, but our Lord has only just begun. The Glory of The Lord shall surely fill the earth. He said just like the waters cover all the sea. REVIVAL COMES; WE LIVE IN EXPECTATION, but our Lord has only just begun. From east and west and north and south the people gather and only unto Him the gathering shall be. These are the days of mighty preparation. But our Lord has only just begun”. As I was singing and dancing to the Lord, I was being lifted higher and higher into the air, kind of like flying or floating above. I was maybe 1 mile up. (This represents being seated in heavenly places in Christ.) I could see so many people below me. I just kept singing and praising the Lord and I was moving forward, walking in the air across the city, proclaiming Him to everyone! I remember thinking, "This song is so awesome I need to share it with the brethren". When I was back on the ground, I was in the center part of the city and there started to be severe wind and everything started shaking and moving. Like a sudden hurricane and earthquake and more. I grabbed onto something and watched everything around me blowing away. Items were blowing everywhere, and walls were breaking and being thrown around and things were flying all around the air. Everything around me moved but I did not move. I felt peace and calm. (Jesus is the Rock that we are anchored on in the storms of life and in the judgements of God. Col. 2:6-7 As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and builded up in him, and established in your faith, even as ye were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.) Suddenly, I looked up at the dark sky and I saw a little circular hole in the sky and a light peaked through. It wasn't like the sun, but it was like a man made light. It felt like a fake light pretending to be the sun (Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. This represents false light and false truth). (Here, again, we see the great deception that God will allow to deceive those who don't love the truth.) I saw something fly from the light through the sky and then down to me. (The alien invasion lies.) (This represents demonic principalities and powers in the heavenlies.) It came around me and these creatures got out of the UFO, and they were very dark. I couldn't see them clearly because they were hiding in the shadows. They were acting like they were "aliens" and they wanted to experiment on me. They were trying to convince me they were aliens, and from another planet and they are taking over the world. (This has been the DS plan for a long time. This will cause many lukewarm Christians to fall away because they are not rooted and grounded in the Word which is Christ.) I felt a hard prod or poke from them in my left rib area. I started having thoughts of fear and doubts about Jesus, but I rejected those thoughts and I said, "Aliens are just demons and we have all authority over them and Jesus IS the Truth", I then spoke, "The Blood of Jesus!” When I awoke, I still felt the feeling of having been prodded in my left rib area, but it quickly faded. Jesus Will be With Us Through the Water Vanessa Weeks - 2/28/23 (David's notes in red) While I was lying down and praying, I had a vision. I saw Jesus standing at the waters edge of a sea or ocean. I was standing to His right and a little behind Him. We were standing in the clear water and there were small ripples coming over our feet. Then Jesus took my hand with His right hand, and we started to walk further into the water. Later that night, the Lord was speaking to me, John 5:19 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner. When I told my husband this vision, he said it reminded him of Isa. 43:2. (In context 1-4), Isa 43:1 But now thus saith Jehovah that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3 For I am Jehovah thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour; I have given Egypt as thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in thy stead. 4 Since thou hast been precious in my sight, and honorable, and I have loved thee; therefore, will I give men in thy stead, and peoples instead of thy life. While hearing "Man-Child Ministry Imparted to the Bride", I heard David read, Psa 85:13 Righteousness shall go before him, And shall make his footsteps a way to walk in. Thank you, Father, that Jesus will hold our hand and be with us during all we go through, as You bring your judgments on the earth. Also, cause us to clearly see your footsteps, so we will walk in them, in Jesus' name, amen. Title: Christ's Prayer for the Sanctification of His Disciples Speaker: Dr. H. T. Spence Event: Special Service Date: August 24, 2022 Summary: The unfolding of Christ's burden for His own in the need of being kept from the mutating evil of the world within their hearts. This will be through HIS JOY taking the place of the joy of the world. Scripture: John 17:13–26 Length:
In this session, Pastor Kelly covers the second half of Philippians Chapter 1. In it, he identifies the three types of “Mind-Set” that allow God to fill us with His JOY, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. We discover that when the Apostle Paul said, “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21), he was able to have unshakable JOY because he was FOCUSED - PURPOSEFUL - INTENTIONAL. These three types of “Mind-Set” are also how we can know JOY in our daily lives.
The day this episode was published marks the 27th anniversary of the Bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. It is a date that changed the lives of so many people. Amy Moffiet was home with my two month old son, Christian. But the family of Pastor Nick Harris, knew that their dad was across the street. We are excited to introduce a new friend of ours and survivor of that day. Amy Moffiet was at a women's conference and met a lady who asked how she was doing. It was shortly after Amy had lost her dad, Pastor Harris and answered honestly, that she was sad. The women expressed her empathy for Amy and she appreciated the woman spending time with her that day.The next time Amy saw Arlene, she was speaking at a conference and shared a story about Pastor Harris. When Arlene] connected that Amy's dad was Nick Harris, Arlene couldn't wait to tell her about the connection she had to him.See, Arlene had attended Pastor Harris's lunchtime Bible study called Loaves and Fishes. Every Tuesday and Thursday people from the downtown area would come to First Church to have lunch and listen to a teaching by Pastor Harris. He loved this time with these people. They were not all people who attended his church, for some, this was their church, and he loved it!When Amy introduced Arlene to Pastor Harris's wife Crystal, she spoke these words to her, “Your husband saved my life.” Often, we never know how our lives impact that of others. Arlene shared that she had been in the building that fateful morning and survived. She also shared that there was much more to survive in the weeks, months and years to come. Anxiety and fear were the challenges she had to survive. She told us about a specific teaching that she recalled and held on to every time she was faced with fear and anxiety in the wake of the trauma she had endured. That teaching became Arlene's mantra. She also recalled how she experienced love and grace from a man who did not KNOW her but he still displayed love to her. Arlene is so much more than a survivor of the OKC Bombing in 1995. She is a mother. She is a child of the king. She is a woman on fire for Jesus. And she is a bearer of His Joy. I am so thankful that Pastor Harris was obedient to what Jesus asked him to do in hosting this Bible study week in and week out so that people could come to know more about relational grace. Our prayer is that we are able to continue to share this message of grace for many years to come.

Is there a time in your life where you have experienced great JOY? We probably all have. Many times, our thought is to associate it with emotion and good feelings. As wonderful as those times are, we see in scripture that the JOY God gives to us goes beyond good feelings. His Joy in our lives is His GRACE RECOGNIZED, which goes us the ability to press on even when things may not FEEL joyous. “Grace Recognized” by Candace Carle premiered on YouTube on Sunday, December 27th, 2020 for our ANCHOR At Home online church service.
