Good or bad, our choices tend to be impacted by messages from society, culture, family, and friends. These messages, sometimes referred to as social pressure, or “peer pressure,” can push us to behave in certain ways or make specific decisions. Although social pressure can be a factor in our lives, it is not the only thing that influences our decisions. We still have the right and the ability to make up our own minds about things, AND we can still decide for ourselves whether to conform to what others are demanding or choose our own paths... Joy looks different to each person and can be found in everyday situations. Some people find joy in caring for others, spiritual connections, being creative, having alone time... The materialistic society we live in has led many to believe that happiness is something to be chased, to obtain. The ultimate end goal that leads to everlasting joy, bliss and contentment.True, lasting happiness or joy is a state of mind. It comes from within. A deliberate, learned response to life that can be consciously and proactively cultivated, regardless of the forces outside of ourselves... In this episode I talk to Leslie Galloway about cultivating confidence and courage through emotional intelligence (EQ), trust, connection and mental fitness (PQ). Bio: I founded Interleap with the vision to create a place where leaders could find their human side in the midst of their businesses. As Founder and CEO, my mission is to create content and coaching that connects with clients and invites them to explore and grow into their greatest areas of potential. In a world where distractions often lead to unwanted complacency, leaders need this focus now more than ever. My goal is to help them get beyond their limitations and into the possibilities around them that make designing their visions of work, life and businesses a reality. My success in this space comes from a lifetime of study around human behavior, successfully coaching clients on organizational design and leadership as a partner with Capacity7 and before then, building leadership and team management expertise in upper management and executive roles in the Branding industry. My superpower throughout my career has always been the ability to connect, engage and disrupt for the sake of change and growth. My ability to activate leaders from stuck to making their next leap, is what drives the success of my clients forward. I'm known as the go-to for relationship and team building and for creating impact and results through emotional intelligence (EQ), trust, connection, disruption and mental fitness. I believe the results of performance, success, and fulfillment come down to the people and teams leading them. Fulfilled leaders and teams create amazing things. We need more fulfilled leaders and they need places like Interleap to practice reconnecting with their who, why and what in order to create even bigger results for themselves and their businesses. I have helped thousands of leaders recognize and reframe their growth and possibilities through 1-1, group and team coaching. My coaching sets leaders in motion by helping them reconnect with themselves and their vision for what matters and what's next for them. This connection allows them to become evangelists for whatever movement they want to create a following for, big or small. I get to live it, so I know it's possible. Coaching is an extension of who I am and why I show up in the world. On a personal side, I am wife to Woody and mom to Grace and golden retrievers, Winnie and Birdie. I also have the most outstanding step-kids and spouses and grandkids you could imagine knowing. Non-negotiable 10s in my life are my faith which makes me who I am, family, friends, and the constant act of learning and growing. Add health, wellness and exercise of almost any form to this list. In this episode I talk to Kristina Lucia about how she balances creativity with entrepreneurship and her vision for deepening family connections through her Curiously Curated Creations. Bio: Kristina Lucia is an artist, creator, and author who ignites the imaginations of children and their parents through her limited edition animals and touching storybooks. Her humble beginnings in a small farm town (there was only one traffic light!) sparked her creativity at a young age and her adopted home of New York City keeps her inspired daily. After an injury forced her to reconsider her 100-mile-an-hour corporate career, Kristina realized her true path to be the artist she was meant to be. The door of Curiously Curated Creations of Kristina Lucia opened in 2019 after receiving a sign from her mother. Curiously Curated Creations of Kristina Lucia features a magical array of warm, cuddly and comforting creatures along with storybooks that help parents and kids improve their communication and deepen their relationships.
