Why You Should NEVER Pay Off Your Mortgage

The Money Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 31, 2025 17:15

Should you pay off your mortgage sooner? Or will paying across the original term work out better?  It's a question many ask themselves, and yet there are factors to consider. In this episode, Rob outlines five compelling reasons to reconsider mortgage repayment, including the benefits of low-interest debt, the opportunity cost of capital, and the impact of inflation on debt value. KEY TAKEAWAYS Current mortgage rates are relatively low, making mortgages one of the cheapest forms of debt. Instead of paying off a mortgage, individuals can invest their money in higher-return assets, such as stocks or real estate, which can yield better returns than the cost of mortgage interest. Paying down a mortgage can lead to significant opportunity costs. The money used for mortgage repayments could be invested in income-generating assets, which could provide enough cash flow to cover mortgage payments Inflation decreases the real value of debt over time. As inflation rises, the cost of living increases, but fixed mortgage payments remain the same Mortgage companies often structure loans to front-load interest payments, meaning that in the early years, borrowers pay mostly interest rather than principal BEST MOMENTS "If you're paying your mortgage down, you might have an interest rate of 4%, but you could have got 11.5 to 12% in the stock market for the last 15 years." "Inflation pushes the prices of rents up... your mortgage payments are not going up with inflation. They're going down with inflation." "The banks know if you get a mortgage with them... you might move after three or five years. So they front load loads of interest." You'll hear Oscar on the pitfalls of auctions, the dangers of sending watches back to manufacturers for servicing, and the challenges of spotting counterfeit pieces. They also explore the dynamics of watch brands like Hublot, Patek Philippe, and Rolex, discussing their market strategies and the impact of limited editions Oscar REVEALS: High-end auctions and vintage watch sales are rife with scams "Frankenstein" watches, which are modified with non-original parts Authorised dealers often require customers to purchase multiple watches or jewellery to qualify for the opportunity to buy highly sought-after models. Brands like Hublot and IWC have faced criticism for overproducing limited editions The importance of brand reputation and how it can impact resale value in the watch market. Authorised dealers may struggle to sell certain models, while grey market prices can be much lower than retail. BEST MOMENTS "The biggest scam in the watch market, I would say, is in auctions. If you don't know what you're doing with vintage watches, you can be scammed for millions." "A Frankenstein watch is when original parts are added to a watch to make it something that it originally wasn't." "I think it's actually suicide to send it back to the brands, especially if you're not really in with them." "Hublot, the fall off needs to be studied because essentially all that went wrong... is they started making limited editions, not even for football teams, but for players who had left the teams." "I believe that Rolex are that for watches. I also believe that they're the best value." Dubai vs UK Taxes: The Shocking Reality Revealed

The Money Podcast

Rob presents a detailed comparison of the tax systems in Dubai and the UK, highlighting the stark differences that impact entrepreneurs and high earners. He covers various taxes, including income tax, national insurance, VAT, corporation tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and property taxes, illustrating how Dubai's favourable tax environment contrasts sharply with the UK's higher rates KEY TAKEAWAYS Dubai offers significantly lower tax rates compared to the UK, with income tax and national insurance at 0% in Dubai versus up to 45% and 15% respectively in the UK. Other taxes such as capital gains tax and inheritance tax are also 0% in Dubai, while they can reach up to 28% and 40% in the UK. The high tax rates in the UK are driving wealthy individuals and entrepreneurs to leave the country, with predictions of over 100,000 millionaires and billionaires potentially departing by 2030 The UK tax system imposes multiple layers of taxation, including taxes on income, employment, and inheritance, which can discourage investment and entrepreneurship Starting a business in the UK can be a strategic move to mitigate tax burdens, as business owners can pay taxes after earning income, unlike employees who pay taxes first. Setting up a company is presented as an accessible option for individuals looking to improve their financial situation. BEST MOMENTS "In the UK, the higher bracket is 45%, but shockingly, in the 100 to 125 grand bracket, the nominal net rate ends up being 60%." "In Dubai, income tax is 0%, National Insurance is 0%, whereas in the UK, income is up to 45% and National Insurance is 15%." "Inheritance tax is like the most evil, nefarious type of tax... we're ruining generational wealth with inheritance tax." "Why would you stay in the UK?" "Setting up a company is actually easier than ever, even though running it is not as easy as it used to be." Join here now: https://www.money.school Rob explores why silver could be the future of money despite being its past. He explains how inflation is theft through currency debasement, tracing silver's role from the world's first coin metal to today's industrial use. Rob also covers why billionaires are predicting a market crash and how silver trades at discounts compared to gold while having utility in electronics and batteries. He makes the case for physical precious metals as a hedge against currency devaluation, covering storage strategies, tax implications, and practical investment approaches! KEY TAKEAWAYS • Inflation is theft. Inflation was first created by mixing copper into silver coins, modern inflation continues this debasement, with real inflation potentially double government figures • Silver offers better accessibility than gold. At roughly 1/60th the price of gold, silver provides an entry point for investors with hundreds rather than tens of thousands • Industrial demand drives growth. 50% of silver goes to industry, especially batteries and electronics, positioning it for the electric vehicle market • Physical ownership beats ETFs, holding silver eliminates counterparty risk and provides decentralisation, unlike paper investments controlled by banks • Silver held in companies offers pre tax investment with potential VAT reclaim and no capital gains tax • Unlike property, silver maintains liquidity during market crashes while rising when other assets fall BEST MOMENTS "Inflation is theft. How inflation first started was this was the first metal that was used for coins... they would melt copper in just a few percent into silver." "I have a rule when thinking about inflation for my own life, if the government say it's five, I think it's 10. If the government say it's 10, I think it's 20." "If you borrow a million pounds from the bank, you have the problem. If you borrow a hundred million pounds from the bank, the bank has the problem." "Paper is only worth anything 'cause it's worth nothing... It is only worth something if we trust it. As soon as we don't trust it, we won't use it anymore." They talk about how your bank deposits legally become the bank's property, why currencies collapse every 27-60 years and how inflation makes savers lose money. The conversation also covers the move toward digital currencies and reveals a strategy using pensions to invest in gold and property. KEY TAKEAWAYS • Your money legally belongs to the bank when deposited, you become a creditor, not an owner of your funds. • Banks keep only 4% reserves. The remaining 96% of your deposits get lent or invested by banks while they control your access. • Actual inflation rates reach 20-25% during peaks, far above official government figures. • No fiat currency has lasted more than 100 years, with most collapsing in 27-60 years. • Gold maintains purchasing power. Gold buys the same amount of goods today as it did centuries ago, only currencies weaken against it. • Pension strategies for wealth building include SIPP and SASS, which allow £60,000 annual tax free contributions into gold and commercial property investments. BEST MOMENTS "Savers are losers. What he means is savers lose money." "We will not unfreeze your account unless you say you've been scammed... she had to lie and say she'd been scammed to get her bank account back open." "Gold price buys the same amount of product right today as it did 50 years ago, as it did 500 years ago." "You can either pay it in tax. Or you can pay it yourself." They discuss the dos and don'ts of lending money to family and friends, reveal the secrets to investing in watches and cars, and share valuable lessons on raising financially savvy kids!  KEY TAKEAWAYS Lending money to family and friends can be risky; only do it if you're prepared to lose the money or the relationship. Consider giving the money as a gift instead. When investing in watches and cars, look for limited editions, good heritage, and scarcity to ensure the best returns. Teach your kids about money early on, as schools often fail to provide adequate financial education. Encourage them to start a company and learn how to manage their finances wisely. Cash is a liability, not an asset, as it depreciates in value over time. Invest in assets that produce income and protect your wealth from inflation. Centralised digital currencies could lead to a lack of competition and a social credit system, which may stifle creativity and reward laziness. Decentralised digital currencies offer more freedom and choice. If you become wealthy, be wise with your money. Consider being generous, but also know when to say no to protect your relationships and financial well-being.   BEST MOMENTS "If you're going to lend money to friends and family, if you don't want to lose the money and you want to make a return, you have to get a first charge on their property. Which means you have to be prepared to repossess the ass of your mum or dad if they don't pay you back." "The thing that will teach kids about money is struggle with money. You can teach them about money like I do." "Money loves speed. Money always moves at its fastest. So that's why people exchange money instantly online now. That's why you like the tap of your Apple Pay because it's super fast. It's convenient and easy to store and not easy to thieve." "I do loads of stuff like that, and I don't ever tell anyone about that. So I like to make myself proud every day."   VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Since the lockdown in the UK, Rob has warned that a revolution was coming, and that the impacts of lockdown would create at least 10 years of chaos in society and the economy. In this episode, he talks about its implications for free speech and the recent sentencing for an opinion posted by a woman on Facebook and what this means for free speech in the UK. KEY TAKEAWAYS In recent years, those right of the centre of politics have been systematically cancelled for their opinions. Rob also reveals how personal development courses changed his life and why he values meaningful business over pure wealth. KEY TAKEAWAYS • Rob bought Think Big Education for £5,000 during the 2008 recession, getting a business that made tens of millions globally plus a 100,000-person database worth £250,000+. • A good email database generates £2-5 per person per year, making Rob's 100,000-person database worth £200,000-500,000 annually in potential revenue. • The company had £1 million in course obligations, but Rob cut costs by 85% and spread payments over two years while creating additional sales opportunities. • Rob changed from a negative critic to a positive entrepreneur, through courses like Tony Robbins programs, calling it the biggest shift in his life and business. • Rob and Mark built 345 properties over 18 years, with one upcoming deal set to double their entire portfolio! • When Rob's toxic former boss went bankrupt, he bought £50,000 worth of designer office furniture for £500 at the bankruptcy sale. • Rob prefers building meaningful businesses that help people over pure wealth accumulation, choosing purpose over profit maximisation. BEST MOMENTS "I actually love being a course junkie. I'm still a course junkie. I wanna do as many courses as possible 'cause I want to learn. The more I learn, the more I earn." "He printed 'em out on a piece of paper and he went, there's four for you. There's three for you. Four to me, three to mark. You sell 'em all or you're both fucking fired." "We paid 3.8 million for it. We sold the retail unit at the bottom for 3.6, so we were 200 grand in on a 20 million pound project." It can be hard to not help people we see are suffering but, giving cash to people is not the way to improve things. Instead, listen to Rob about why education and support are the ways to help those struggling as well as talk about the scams you may fall victim to and what we can change to improve our society. KEY TAKEAWAYS There are many beggars on the street who aren't actually homeless. The solution is to not give them cash. We can support those who are actually homeless with other versions of support such as food banks, soup kitchens and education. Most people on benefits or welfare want to work and want a job to support themselves, they just need the right help. There are some simple things the government can do to turn around many of society's current issues with homelessness and the workforce including reallocation of capital, changing the tax system and making the benefit system about incentivising people to work.  BEST MOMENTS"They make £150 a day” “There are two types of homeless, the homeless and the shameless” “You assume people sitting on the street are homeless but they're not, they're professional beggars” “Imagine if the government took our money and used to to train people on the streets, help them back to work instead of just giving them money” VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. He discusses why hot models make less money, his zero-day contracts, and the banking problems creators face. Liam also talks about masculinity, relationships, and his plans to build an entire creator economy. A direct look at a controversial industry from someone making serious money in it! Liam Turnbull REVEALS: • How his agency makes $5-7 million monthly with top creators earning $1.5 million per month • Why he uses zero-day contracts and won't take more than 50% commission, unlike exploitative competitors • That beauty doesn't equal money, conventionally attractive models make less because they lack unique branding • Why he only works with existing creators and never brings new people into the industry • The banking problems for sex workers • Why masculinity has declined • That individual success matters more than social trends BEST MOMENTS "I just taught myself to see society's problems, nudity, lingerie, suddenly become Monday morning." He covers seven ways banks can use, restrict, and take your deposits, from paying their bills to freezing accounts based on your political views. He shares real examples, including Andrew Tate's frozen £16 million and Nigel Farage's account closure. KEY TAKEAWAYS • Banks control your deposits, not you! They can lend out 90% of your money under fractional reserve rules and use the rest for their operating costs. • Deposit insurance has limits, the £85,000 protection applies per banking group, not per bank, and relies on the debt heavy government as guarantor. • Banks can block access to your money including setting withdrawal limits, restricting crypto purchases and they can demand explanations for large withdrawals. • Account closures happen for political reasons. Banks can close accounts based on your views or social media posts, as seen with Nigel Farage and Andrew Tate. • Banks can operate knowing they can't pay if just 11% of customers want their money back at once. The system allows legal insolvency. • Physical assets give real control, gold, silver, property, and other physical items can't be frozen or seized like bank deposits. BEST MOMENTS "If you borrow a million quid from the bank, you have the problem. If you borrow a hundred million from the bank, they have the problem." "Andrew Tate told me that the banking institutions froze 16 million pounds of his money... I wrote off the 16 million." "The banks can use your money for their operational costs... they can use it to buy elastic bands, paperclips, have their senior managers go and have dinners." "As soon as there's no cash, their ability to do this goes up by 10x and your freedom goes down by 10x." Are you looking for ways to make more money than you already have? Well, don't miss today's exciting episode of the Money podcast as Rob teaches you his 7 ways to make yourself great at making cash. Learn how solving peoples problems will offer you lucrative opportunities, how to get better at asking for what you want and why people will pay handsomely for convenience.  KEY TAKEAWAYS  One way to be great at making money is by solving problems. Ultimately, people will pay to have their pain alleviated and they will pay for solutions. What you need to be good at is spotting problems, seeing them as opportunities and solving those problems.  Do more than you are paid for.  It is not enough to do only what you are paid to do. You should always aim to do more than what you are paid to do. How impressed do people get when you do more than you are asked to do and paid to do? It is the same as always over delivering and customers will feel like they have been given extra value if you continuously give them more than what you initially promised.  You have got to get better at asking for what you want. If you inherently know you give good, intrinsic value and you are valuable and do not just obsess over money, you obsess over value then that becomes a lot easier. You will not get what you do not ask for and you have got to get better and asking for what you want.  If you make peoples lives faster, easier and better this will lead to convenience and therefore value. Many of the most successful things such as the internet and delivery services have been designed to make our lives easier. If you can create a product or service that does these three things, then you will get paid handsomely for it.    BEST MOMENTS “Solving problems help you make cash. Your job is to see and spot the problem, create the opportunity and get it out to the market.” “Don't just do the job you've got, do the job you want.” “You've got to make peoples lives easier, you've got to make peoples lives better, you've got to make peoples lives more convenient.” VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/   ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Rory Sutherland REVEALS: Who is really to blame for the property crisis How the internet has democratised consumption Why office culture needs reimagining in all ways The reality that all companies need to adapt to or risk losing top talent How the UK housing market could be transformed and innovated Why big cities are less relevant than ever BEST MOMENTS "The point of capitalism, right? Capitalism is nothing to do with efficiency. Forget that. That's a distraction. Praising capitalism because it's efficient is like praising Bob Dylan because he's got a beautiful singing voice." "Any meeting without tea and biscuits is just faintly unnatural... we've got to leave some space for anthropology here, not just economics." "The actual buildings are utterly tedious and awful for the most part. And all the money is actually in the land... It's kind of bothersome to me because so much of what should be a productive discretionary market economy is actually being sequestered in this utterly uninteresting form of wealth preservation." "Nobody minded buying CDs when the only way you could listen to music was on a CD... When the record companies started to say, 'No, I know you can download music from the internet in five minutes, but you still have to buy it on CD to protect our legal rights.' Okay, that's when people revolt." "We've spent trillions on this stuff, we've created billionaires, we've created bankruptcies... If all this turmoil created by technology doesn't manifest itself in basically a general improvement to people's lived existence... what the hell is the point?" Is your money mindset broke or rich? Rob defines both in this episode and advises what you can do to fix your money mindset if it's broken! KEY TAKEAWAYS If you have a poor or broke money mindset, you will always repel wealth. Believing money is bad or those with it aren't good people is part of having a bad money mindset, you will never become rich if you believe these things. You have to change your perception of what it takes to become rich and believe you are someone who can be rich too, or it will never happen.  BEST MOMENTS"The skillset without the mindset will leave you upset” “You need to change your perception of what it takes to become rich”: VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Are You Being Dangerous with Your Money?

The Money Podcast

Rob talks about the most dangerous ways we can mishandle our money, uncovering shocking truths about banking, savings accounts, and inflation. Rob challenges conventional financial wisdom and explains why your savings account might actually be making you poorer. From the hidden mechanics of money printing to the true nature of banks, Rob continues to share the controversial insights that will transform how you think about managing your wealth.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Savings accounts are actually "degrading accounts" - your money loses value over time due to inflation being higher than interest rates, with banks typically offering much lower rates than the base rate while making profit on the difference. The banking system operates on a model where you are the product. Banks create money from nothing, lend it out multiple times, and make a profit from your deposits while providing minimal returns and maintaining limited transparency. Inflation is not a natural economic phenomenon but a controlled mechanism that consistently devalues currency, with current inflation rates significantly outpacing any interest earned in traditional savings accounts. Liquidity should replace the concept of savings. Keeping 1-3 months of expenses liquid is important, but this doesn't necessarily mean in bank accounts; alternatives like S&P 500, FTSE 100, or precious metals can provide better security. Money printing through quantitative easing devalues existing currency while simultaneously reducing the relative value of debt, which explains part of why "the rich get richer" - they hold assets that appreciate with inflation. The 85,000 bank deposit protection isn't per bank but per banking group, meaning multiple accounts at different banks owned by the same group don't multiply your protection.   BEST MOMENTS "If you waste money and enjoy it, I'd argue that's not a waste. I think that gambling is a disgusting industry, especially when you're advertised hard at first, and lured in with money." "Be an owner, not a loaner. When you give your money to the bank, you think you're saving it, you're actually lending it to them." "If you borrow a million from the bank, you have a problem. If you borrow a hundred million from a bank, the bank has the problem."   VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Ranking Tax Saving Strategies

The Money Podcast

Rob ranks tax saving strategies from best to worst while sharing his knowledge on how to legally optimise your tax position. Rob reveals why some popular tax saving methods might be dangerous traps, explains the power of ISAs and pensions, and shares fascinating insights about commercial property investment.  KEY TAKEAWAYS ISAs represent one of the few remaining personal tax breaks, allowing individuals to invest £20,000 tax-free annually, making them more valuable than many realise. Commercial property ownership through a company can offer significant tax advantages, especially when becoming your own tenant, but it's crucial to maintain market rate rents to avoid scrutiny. When choosing an accountant, there are three types: government friendly conservatives, risky rule breakers who might disappear when things go wrong, and skilled middle ground professionals worth their higher fees. Company car tax benefits work differently between Limited Companies and LLPs, with LLPs offering better opportunities for vehicle-related tax benefits under specific conditions. Business expenses must pass two key tests: running them through a qualified accountant and ensuring they don't negate tax investigation insurance coverage. Moving to tax free jurisdictions like Dubai requires careful consideration, as while there's no income tax, living costs can be significantly higher and tax rates may gradually increase over time.   BEST MOMENTS "Often the hack to save a load of tax is the Trojan horse, and you end up getting screwed by it, so you have to be careful." "When you're employed, you earn five grand, they take off the tax, they take off the national insurance, they take off the student loans, you're left with 2,100 quid and you've got no choice." "A friend of mine, who's nearly a billionaire, reckons you pay 92 percent in everything you earn and everything you spend in tax. I think it's a bit less, but I think it's easily 70%."     VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Why Investing in Silver Could Protect Your Wealth

The Money Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 21, 2024 35:41

In this episode, Rob talks about the world of silver investment, including why this ancient form of currency might be the future of money. Rob explores the historical significance of silver, its relationship with inflation, and why billionaires are currently liquidating their assets. With banking crises looming and global economic uncertainty rising, Rob shares insider knowledge about protecting wealth through precious metals, so whether you are interested in investing in silver or just want to learn more about protecting your assets, this is one for you!   KEY TAKEAWAYS Silver was historically the first metal used for coins, and modern inflation originated from people mixing copper with silver to debase its value, showing how inflation is not a natural phenomenon but a form of theft. Silver has significant industrial utility with 50% used in manufacturing, particularly in batteries and electronics, making it potentially more valuable than gold as electric vehicles and technology advance. During financial crises, precious metals typically surge in value as people lose faith in traditional currency - silver nearly doubled during the 2008 crash while most assets dropped 30%. Billionaires like Michael Lewis (The Big Short) and major players like Warren Buffett are currently liquidating assets, potentially signaling an impending global financial crisis. Traditional banking operates on a fractional reserve system where banks only hold 10% of deposits, making them vulnerable to bank runs and highlighting the importance of holding physical assets. Storage of physical silver can be more secure than keeping money in banks, as banks can freeze accounts and lend out 90% of deposits, while physical silver remains under your direct control.   BEST MOMENTS "Paper is only worth anything, because it's worth nothing by the way, and even the polymer notes are worth nothing, it's only worth something if we trust it." "Anyone who really knows money invests a decent amount of their net worth in silver and gold and hopes it never goes up... because the only time that goes up is when the world is in the toilet." "If you borrow a million pounds from the bank, you have the problem. If you borrow a hundred million pounds from the bank, the bank has the problem." "Savings are degradings. Because savings go down, inflation is higher than interest historically. Even when interest is high, the banks don't give you it all."   VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Join Rob as he explores the psychology of designer purchases, from clothes to watches to cars. He talks about the delicate balance between quality investments and wasteful spending and by sharing personal experiences, stories and real world examples, Rob reveals how true wealth often manifests in subtlety. KEY TAKEAWAYS High-end brands like Patek Philippe and Hermès create artificial scarcity and complex buying processes to maintain exclusivity and increase demand, requiring significant previous purchases to access their most coveted items.  True quality investment pieces often have no visible logos and maintain or increase in value over time, while items covered in obvious branding typically depreciate rapidly.  Ferrari maintains brand value through strict control, even banning celebrities like Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian who violate their standards for car modification and resale.  Luxury watches like Patek Philippe can serve as both investment vehicles and networking tools, opening doors to valuable business connections.  In the luxury car market, value isn't always about the badge - sometimes less prestigious brands offer better performance and value (like Audi RSQ8 vs. Lamborghini Urus).  Expensive designer clothes with prominent logos often indicate insecurity rather than wealth, while truly wealthy individuals tend to prefer understated, high-quality pieces.   BEST MOMENTS "If you want to go broke, buy brands. If you want to get rich, build a brand." "A Rolex Daytona is a better savings account than a savings account and a better door opener than a crowbar." "For less than an Urus, I got an RSQ8, which looks better than an Urus and a 992 Turbo S, which is the fastest car out of anything except two, three and five million pound hypercars."    VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Kwasi Kwarteng REVEALS: ·       Labour's recent budget represents the largest tax hike since 1993, with £25 billion coming from employers' national insurance contributions ·       Why the budget could stifle economic growth and job creation ·       Why China could potentially become the world's next reserve currency power ·       The UK and other European countries are caught in a "doom loop" where slow growth leads to higher taxes, which further reduces growth potential. ·       Modern socialism still operates on Marxist principles of class warfare, setting workers against employers, despite their shared interests in economic success ·       Why the shift toward a cashless society poses significant risks to personal freedom and financial privacy while making budgeting more difficult for individuals. ·       The housing crisis in Britain requires significant planning reform, but political resistance and short-term thinking have prevented meaningful progress ·       World Wars I and II fundamentally transformed the relationship between state and citizen, leading to permanently expanded government spending and taxation BEST MOMENTS "You're never going to get the growth in the next two or three years that they need. And the risk for them is that in two years time, they come up with more tax raises, which will damage the economy more." "If we all refuse to shop anywhere where they didn't take cash, they would all take cash." "The Chinese have got tons of gold, I mean metaphorically and really, and they could say, okay, now not saying they will do this, but there's a world in which they could say, right, we're gonna back the rebi with gold."
