In this episode we are off to the mighty Georges River in Sydney. This for me was a very interesting event. In the weeks leading up to the event, the river was fishing very very well. There was lots of large Bream and lots of Mulloway up to the 1m mark. When competition day arrived the river started to shut down a little.  First up we have repeat guest Tony Pettie who fished very well and regained the Batman title fro Simon. For anyone who fished this competiton and struggled this is a great interview. Tony fished basic patterns with good effect. He also won the Atomic Big Bream with a 1.4 kg beast. Tony is one of a few anglers who is making a charge on the AOY points table. In second place we have Jason Marshall who is relatively new to the Hobie Series and is also a repeat guest on The Bream Fishing Project. Jason is showing the way for anyone who would like to come and have a go at a kayak fishing event. Jason has won two Yakhunters bream rounds and has had one Ppodium finish and a top ten in Hobie rounds. Jason had a very interesting story which showed a lot of dedication and tenacity. Jason put all of his eggs in one basket and it paid real dividends. Tune in to hear his story. First place went to the one and only Russell Babekuhl. Russell has had an amazing run in his last 5 events and this is no exception. However, it wasn't Russell's easiest win. He didn't catch lots of fish and he also fished in a way tha is a little different from his usual strategy. I was surprised by a couple of things Russell spoke about.... but you will need to listen in to hear all about it!

The 28th of June 2019.Whether you like to fish for Flathead, jew fish, bream or whiting this fishing report will help you plan you weekend ahead. My goal is to make fishing as easy as it possible can be, in my research I found found that fish feed at certain times, in this weather report I inform you on my personal opinion of when the best possible times to go fishing over the weekend will be.When Fishing for Flathead you want to find structure such as sand flats or weed beds and i have found my best results on the run out tide but have also had a lot of luck around low tide.If you are targeting Mulloway or Jew fish, deep holes are a good area to be fishing around, they also like to hang around bridge pylons so keep that in mind. I have heard that the best time for fishing jew fish is after a storm or rain in the river mouth when the water has a distinct colour change. using pilchards or live bait works best but can have plenty of results using a white swim bait or soft plastic lure. When Targeting bream structure is key, Bridge pylons, jetties or pontoons are where these little critters hang out, I have found like yabbies are an excellent bait but bream will pretty much take any bait at the right time.If you will be Fishing for whiting sand flats and arond weed beds are a great place to look, live yabbies or blood worms are excelent bait and with light gear these little guys can be a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy my Weekend Fishing, TIde and Weather report for Australia wide and are able to plan your weekend around fishing ;) get out there, have some fun, and until next time keep those rods ready and hold on.
