*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. If you want an ad-free experience, you can subscribe below underneath the show description. It is once again clear that the sudden explosion of protests across the United States has a less than organic origin. There has been growing sentiment for violence on the political left in the past 15 years, as is evidenced by a recent report by CNRI that analyzes the rising support for Luigi Mangione. This same group, however, analyzed the explosion of the “Christ is King” movement and found it to be based on the same type of sentiment. In both cases there is a growing distrust for authority and thus a vacuum for new authoritative justice and moral policing to take hold. In fact, the “Hands off” protestors are more than inorganic and/or unhinged; they are a necessary component of justifying the victimhood and power of their perceived enemies, who also are a necessary component of justifying the purpose of the protesters. There is a shadowy element behind both that continues to benefit regardless of political outcomes. The element continues to engage in the same rhetoric too. Whereas under the left racism was a public health crisis and being anti-racist was not enough, now under the right anti-semitism is a public health crisis and being against anti-semitism is not enough. Both of these forces fight without reasoning or basis, which changes the conversation from ever addressing the consistent presence of the advancement towards electric cars, digital currency, and a dissolving of nations. The self issued moral licensing justifies murder or imprisonment without due process while finding acceptable explanation for why 1 or 100 million need to die to reach a desired outcome. It also ignores the fact that many of the problems perceived to exist are themselves the result of the very same political extremism. Condemning all white people as evil by the left or condemning Islam as evil on the right and bombing their countries into the Stone Age both have real consequences and breed the very thing feared, a beneficial monster that feeds off the same zealotry. And how do we go about commenting, supporting, or defending these movements? We do it with beliefs for which few of us will admit are programs rather than thoughtful conclusions; we do it with emojis and memes, which introduce a magical element to the equation. -FREE ARCHIVE (w. ads)SUBSCRIPTION ARCHIVEX / TWITTER FACEBOOKMAIN WEBSITECashApp: $rdgable EMAIL: rdgable@yahoo.com / TSTRadio@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/tst-radio--5328407/support.

In 1881, an Oneida Community alumnus named Charles J. Guiteau, shot and killed president James A. Garfield. And in many ways, Guiteau’s trial centered on the six year period that Guiteau had spent at Oneida. Guiteau’s lawyers, who mounted one of the first uses of the insanity defense, argued that the tyrannical policies and leadership style of John Humphrey Noyes had sent their client over the edge. And while Guiteau’s portrait of Noyes was hyperbolic and self serving, there was some truth to his critique of Noyes. And despite their many differences, these two men, one an assassin, the other a prophet, were surprisingly similar.

LIFE, LIBERTY & THE PURSUIT OF PLEASURE

Is President Donald Trump the least presidential president who has ever presidented? This is the question posed by many media outlets, including CNN. The President has changed the way the Oval Office communicates through the advent of social media--and the media conglomerates and talking heads are not happy. How dare this President go around the Fourth Estate! Subscribe to the podcast. But has the Presdient gone too far...with tweets like this? "Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!" -- "The Fake News of big ratings loser CNN" -- "Very sad that the FBI missed all of the many signals sent out by the Florida school shooter. This is not acceptable. They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign - there is no collusion. Get back to the basics and make us all proud!" Does the insensitivity of these tweets cross the line? We will answer that question and much more with Co-Hosts Sgt. Betsy Smith and Missy Crutchfield. Subscribe to the podcast. First it was the wall, then the travel ban to eight countries--many believe this was the start of the president being branded a racist. Immigration is one of those hot buttons that politicians simply love to put off. Sure they talk a big story while surfing for votes. But the reality is, it's an issue that never gets fully resolved. Candidate Trump promised he would initiate a travel ban from specific Middle East countries that were considered a risk factor. Soon into the new administration the Presdient signed an executive order to ban travel temporarily from eight countries. Was this an insult to muslims many wondered? What does it mean for these 8 countries to be banned from entering the USA? And then there was the wall - was he now targeting Mexicans? Further evidence that the newly elected President must be a racist - his distractors were convinced and the President just had to go. TONIGHT WE DISCUSS: Did the Presdient change your mind last night?Gone from his speech to a joint session of Congress were the lengthy attacks on media and Democratic opponents. Missing was the gloom-and-doom warnings of "American carnage" from his inaugural address. And while he didn't deliver a ton of policy specifics, Trump smoothed his rough edges, soothed congressional Republicans and reached out to populations he'd previously alienated. The Best moment of the night The most stirring moment of Trump's speech -- and his presidency -- came when he spoke directly to Carryn Owens, the widow of Navy Chief William "Ryan" Owens, who was killed in the military raid in Yemen that Trump ordered shortly after taking office.Trump said "Ryan died as he lived: a warrior, and a hero." TONIGHT WE DISCUSS: Did the Presdient change your mind last night? Gone from his speech to a joint session of Congress were the lengthy attacks on media and Democratic opponents. Missing was the gloom-and-doom warnings of "American carnage" from his inaugural address. And while he didn't deliver a ton of policy specifics, Trump smoothed his rough edges, soothed congressional Republicans and reached out to populations he'd previously alienated. The Best moment of the night  The most stirring moment of Trump's speech -- and his presidency -- came when he spoke directly to Carryn Owens, the widow of Navy Chief William "Ryan" Owens, who was killed in the military raid in Yemen that Trump ordered shortly after taking office. Trump said "Ryan died as he lived: a warrior, and a hero." Then, he defended the value of intelligence gained on the raid. "Ryan's legacy is etched into eternity," the President said. Trump led a 2-minute, 11-second standing ovation as Carryn Owens stood, crying and clasping her hands. SONG PICK #TYHERNDON NEW ALBUM #HOUSEONFIRE #FIGHTER

On the October 2nd episode of Liberal Dan Radio: This eposide will be devoted to the Affordable Care Act, i.e. Obamacare. What does it mean for you? What are the benefits? Are there any drawbacks? Is the law perfect? What would I change about the law? But this just scratches the surface of what we can talk about when it comes to Obamacare. There is also the vast criticisms from the right wing about how bad it is. If the law was that bad, why wouldn't the Republicans allow it to fall flat on its face? And what are the lies out there? Conservatives are spreading all sorts of lies about the law and they need to be debunked. Is Congress and the Presdient really "exempted" from the law? Is that even possible? If not, where does that idea come from? What about the idea that Obama lied about losing your coverage? What did he say? If someone loses coverage between the passage of the law and now, does that mean that Obama lied? I also had on Charlie Daniels and we discussed his blog post about Obamacare here. And that just scratches the surface. All of those topics plus headlines, the tweet of the week, words of redneck wisdom and more Wednesday on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right. Look at any campaign, for student body President to the President of the United States and we see some key ingredients. The clarity and strength of the message, the quality of political organization, the discipline of the candidate, the get out the vote effort and resonance of the broader issues. As President Obama entered his reelection campaign, a full two years before election day, by any objective standard, these things were in flux and not always for the better. To paraphrase his opposition, the hope and change thing wasn’t going so well.  And yet Obama would become the first president, since Ike, to be re elected with over 50% of the vote. What they did, right and wrong is the subject of Richard Wolffe’s, 2012 campaign biography The Message: The Reselling of President Obama. My conversation with Richard Wolffe:
