There is nothing more mega powerful than a CONSISTENT and EFFECTIVE pre-shift meeting. Follow the lead of all of the professional sports teams. There is good reason that they have pre-game meetings, that conclude with a big huddle and cheer! This is the ideal time to #1 ensure your entire staff is on their A-game #2 that everyone knows the game plan and #3 that the entire staff head onto the floor with excitement! A weekly meeting is NOT a pre-shift. The most effective pre-shifts happen every single day, every single shift! The restaurant business can be one hectic place. Do not let the daily fires get in the way of holding consistent pre-shift meetings. MAKE IT A PRIORITY! Be sure your pre-shift is interactive not just informational and most of all, make it FUN!
