Lindsay Perrin is back on Dear Bianca for the third time, and this one has it all. We go deep into her journey as a surrogate for two gay dads in NYC—from the very beginning to postpartum and everything in between. She opens up about what it was like being pregnant without a partner, how it compared to her pregnancies with her two kids, and the real highs and lows she faced along the way. Of course, we couldn't skip the fun stuff: Lindsay tells me about making a Hinge profile while pregnant (yes, really), what dating was like during that time, and what she's actually looking for in a partner now. Younger women might still be her thing… but she also admits she has a thing for Kris Jenner post-surgery LOL. And we wrap up by chatting about her 3rd annual NYC Lesbian Bar Crawl and what caused Lindsay and I had a little tiff that we hash out live on the mic. So grab your headphones, get comfy, and let's dive in. If you love Dear Bianca, please follow, rate and review the podcast — it seriously helps the show grow. This week, I cover it all — from the wild dream I had about someone's best friend (is that good or bad?
I just got back from the most beautiful trip through Europe with my girlfriend, and while I was away, I found myself reflecting a lot—not only on life, but on Dear Bianca and where this podcast is headed. In this episode, I open up about why I've decided to rebrand, how this next chapter feels true to who I am right now, and what you can expect from me moving forward. This isn't about leaving anything behind, but about expanding—creating space for more connection, more stories, and more of the everyday moments that bring us all together. I share my heart with you about why this shift feels so important and exciting, and I hope it helps you feel even more a part of the journey. And I wrap up with details on the 3rd Annual NYC Lesbian Bar Crawl happening this weekend with Lindsay Perrin. It's not just about a night out—it's about meeting new people, celebrating our queer spaces, and building friendships that last. So grab your headphones, get comfy, and let's dive in. TolkienTroy Ford is an author and editor, and the publisher of two popular newsletters: the writing-focused Ford Knows Books, and Qstack, an LGBTQIA+ Directory, Platform, and Community of newsletter writers and readers on Substack. His debut novel, Lamb, released in June 2025. Unsung, his short film with co-director Kimberly Warner of Unfixed Media, received the OurPride 2025 Innovative Storytelling Award. Since 2019, he has lived in Sitges, Spain with his husband and AmStaff Terrier. In The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfortable, unambitious life, rarely traveling any farther than his pantry or cellar. But his contentment is disturbed when the wizard Gandalf and a company of dwarves arrive on his doorstep one day to whisk him away on an adventure. They have launched a plot to raid the treasure hoard guarded by Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon. Bilbo reluctantly joins their quest, unaware that on his journey to the Lonely Mountain he will encounter both a magic ring and a frightening creature known as Gollum.J.R.R. Tolkien was a distinguished academic, though he is best known for writing The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion, plus other stories and essays. Marketing for “The Conjuring: Last Rites” billed it as the end of the series… but considering it had the biggest global opening ever for a horror movie, this franchise will inevitably live on. In this episode of Dear Bianca, I step away from our usual lighthearted conversations to reflect on two tragedies that captured national attention this week: the devastating death of Iryna Zarutska on the light rail and the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. As a queer podcast community, I know these events bring up complicated emotions — grief, anger, even conflicting feelings about justice. But one thing is clear: celebrating violence is not who we are. In this episode, I talk about what these moments reveal about America's broken systems, why violence cannot be the solution, and how our LGBTQ community can stay rooted in love, compassion, and humanity, even when the world feels upside down. Join me for a heartfelt reflection on choosing joy over hate, kindness over cruelty, and remembering that our greatest power as a community has always been love. September really said, “Let's test her.” In one week, I collected a whole new friend group, blew through way too much money going out, and earned a solid “F” on my first fantasy football report card (thank you, apparently I suck at drafting). And because life loves balance, my 30s decided to show up with random knee pain every time I try to work out — cute. Add in football season officially here, fall vibes taking over, and whispers of an early winter, and honestly… we're thriving. This is your fun, slightly unhinged, very sarcastic catch-up on how September is already giving main character energy. Remake, reimagining, reboot — all of these words could be used to describe the new “Witchboard,” which is VERY loosely based on a 1986 film of the same name and directed by Chuck Russell (Director of “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors”). Their newest book is So Many Stars: An Oral History of Trans, Nonbinary, Genderqueer, and Two-Spirit People of Color.Set in the post-martial-law era of late-1980s Taipei, Notes of a Crocodile is a coming-of-age story of queer misfits discovering love, friendship, and artistic affinity while hardly studying at Taiwan's most prestigious university. Told through the eyes of an anonymous lesbian narrator nicknamed Lazi, this cult classic is a postmodern pastiche of diaries, vignettes, mash notes, aphorisms, exegesis, and satire by an incisive prose stylist and major countercultural figure.Connect with Carowebsite: caroderobertis.cominstagram: @caro_derobertisOur BookshopVisit our Bookshop for new releases, current bestsellers, banned books, critically acclaimed LGBTQ books, or peruse the books featured on our podcasts: bookshop.org/shop/thisqueerbookBuy Notes of a Crocodile: https://bookshop.org/a/82376/9781681370767Buy So Many Stars: An Oral History of Trans, Nonbinary, Genderqueer, and Two-Spirit People of Color: https://bookshop.org/a/82376/9781643756875Become an Associate Producer!Become an Associate Producer of our podcast through a $20/month sponsorship on Patreon! Picture this: Coldplay hits the stage, the arena cameras sweep the crowd, and—boom—two people busy having an affair go full-PDA under 60,000 phones. In this week's Dear Bianca I roast that Jumbotron-level misfire and wonder why anyone thinks “secret” and “stadium” belong in the same sentence. Meanwhile, I pulled a ten-hour “let's just go to Italy” stunt—booked, realized I have too much going on, cancelled, and now I'm babysitting €1200 in cash. Next stop? Vegas. Almost four months alcohol-free and betting on mineral water instead of martinis. We also peel apart three tracks from Fletcher's new album, Would You Still Love Me If You Really Knew Me. Tune in to hear all about what inspired this 1999 cult classic, what it was like working with its all-star cast so early in their careers, and the reason behind that very homoerotic popsicle scene we all loved.

I'm back — and life's been lifing. After a few months away, we have lots to catch up on: I haven't had a drink in 3 months, I'm deep in my healthy girl era (yes, I read every label now), and emotionally? Let's just say… i'm working on it. In this episode, I open up about starting therapy and leaning into meditation. I also share the conversation that reignited my purpose for this podcast (spoiler: I missed you). Oh, and yes… we have to talk about Fletcher dating a man and JoJo Siwa's new relationship. If you're into personal growth, queer stories, real-life wellness, and honest convos with zero fluff — this one's for you. Is there any theology in the religion that I grew up in that is meaningful? Or is it just hate with a halo?Today we meet Paul Cram and we're talking about the queer book that saved his life: Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality by John Boswell.Described as “Honest, a little quirky,” Paul is a Twin Cities-based character actor, book lover, and multimedia designer. For over 15 years, he has been performing in films and onstage. He's shared the screen with Woody Harrelson, Cillian Murphy, and Susan Sarandon. He stars in the upcoming film Anniversary, directed by Jim Cole. For the short film To Myself he was nominated for Best Actor at Z-Fest. A voracious reader, Paul launched the monthly “Men-Who-Read” nonfiction book club in 2019 which now has over 85 book lovers. Paul serves as the chair of Education and Outreach with SAG-AFTRA Twin Cities Local.John Boswell's landmark book Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality is credited with launching the field of gay and lesbian studies. Winner of the National Book Award, this study of Christianity's history of homosexuality in the early West revealed the Church's radically different relationship to its gay members, including priests, bishops, and even saints. There is a documentary of Boswell and his work called Not A Tame Lion.
