St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World is a fun celebration. From food to festivities and fashion, Disney does a great job of celebrating the Irish spirit every March. We share our top picks for food, plus the best places to be and what to wear to join in the fun. What to Wear, Where to Go and What to Eat for St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World The Best Things to Do For St. Patrick's Day at Disney World While St. Patrick's Day officially falls on Sunday, March 17 in 2024, the festivities at Disney World are already under way and many of the Disney treats and drinks extend to the end of March. So even if you won't be there on the exact day, there are still opportunities to enjoy the spirit of the celebration. Top Picks for St. Patrick's Day Food at Walt Disney World You can find specialty food items for St. Patrick's Day across much of Walt Disney World. Disney Springs the Disney resort hotels are your best bet for St. Patrick's Day specialty food items. For 2024, our top foodie pick from what's new for Disney's St. Patrick's Day food is found at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Head to this quick service dining spot and get your hands on the Irish Cream Cheesecake. Not only is this a photo-worthy dessert (featuring the Grand Floridian's trademark logo on top), but it's also a delicious Bailey's Irish Cream Cheesecake with Chantilly cream and gold "coins," which are edible of course. This is a true pot of gold and our top pick for St. Patrick's Day 2024. You'll find more St. Patrick's Day treats at Beaches and Cream (Shamrock Shake anyone?), Roaring Fork and more Disney hotel establishments. Disney Springs is the best all-in-one spot for St. Patrick's Day specialty treats. Start at Amorette's Patisserie, the Ganachery and Ghirardelli for sweet treats and don't forget the City Works Eatery and Pour House for a St. Patrick's Day cocktail and D-Luxe Burger for another shake. This is only scratching the surface, so come hungry and enjoy a little spirit of the Irish! Where to Go to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World As you can tell from the food offerings, Disney Springs is party central for St. Patrick's Day festivities. From food, to fun to decorations and festivities, if you really want to get into the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, then head to Disney Springs. Raglan Road is extremely popular on St. Patrick's Day. If you're hoping to walk up and grab a seat inside, you'll likely be disappointed. However, they do have patio space available usually and while it's very busy it is possible to find a place if you come early (as in the afternoon) or if you don't mind waiting. But it's not the only game in town. The Best Park at Walt Disney World for St. Patrick's Day Celebrations If you want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a Disney World park, Disney's Hollywood Studios is the place to be. In past years the fun has begun outside of the gates, with upbeat humor and a live host ringing in St. Patrick's Day. EPCOT is another good park option for St. Patrick's Day, particularly in World Showcase around the U.K. pavilion area. What to Wear to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World If you really want to get into the spirit of St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World by dressing for the occasion, you won't be alone. Wearing any sort of green is a good bet if you don't want to go all out. But if you do like to dress for the occasion, you won't be alone. At Disney Springs you'll see lots of St. Paddy's day accessories, from hats, to shamrock necklaces and more. So this is a great place to go if you want to dress up for St. Patrick's Day and feel like you're part of a big Disney Irish party. The same goes for Disney's Hollywood Studios. You'll see plenty of St. Paddy's Day revelers there as well. Plus, with the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival also happening at the same time, Amelia has some great fashion outfit tips for how to combine it all into the perfect and easy-to-pack outfits. Kyle Holt is Taylor Creek Fly Shop's head guide, whose favorite saying is "Fish Hard and Die Rich.” Having been raised in Springfield, Illinois, Kyle became heavily involved in fishing, hunting, and trapping the "flatlands" surrounding his home. As fortune would have it, Kyle's family decided to take regular vacations to Rocky Mountain National Park where he hooked his first browns, rainbows, and brookies - subsequently becoming hooked himself. In 1983 Kyle packed up all of his worldly possessions (which he relates were few) and moved from the cornfields to the Rockies in pursuit of any trout that would take a fly. Holt has been fishing in the Roaring Fork Valley & Frying Pan River for over 29 years, and is now considered a sub-god by many of his clientele because of his skill and knowledge of the area waters. Many years back, after taking a trip to the Bahamas with a group of clients, Kyle returned to Colorado in a sorry state. He realized his addiction for salt water fly fishing is an itch he can't get rid of. Fast forward many moons, Kyle has been to Mexico, Belize, the Seychelles, Christmas Island, the Amazon, Costa Rica, Louisiana, and of course the Florida Keys targeting his dream catches on fly. On today's podcast, we speak about the state of the fishery in the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan River, the challenges they face, etiquette on the river, and the Guide Alliance that Kyle helped start in 2014. We hope you enjoy.

How did they narrow it down to six? The team rode the attraction over and over again testing how various tracks fit with the spirit and the movement of the coaster. They finally settled on the following six songs in their original classic versions: “September” “Disco Inferno” “Conga” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” “I Ran” “One Way or Another” You won't know which track you're going to hear until you blast off. Plus we now know that the theme of the ride is to help stop Eson, the Celestial villain who is trying to complete an evil plan. --Connections Café & Eatery is Now Open at EPCOTConnections Café & Eatery is open and ready to serve in the World Celebration neighborhood. The restaurant's design includes nods to Walt Disney's original plans for EPCOT. There are two experiences – an eatery on one side serving lunch and dinner menus, and a café and pastry shop on the other open all day long. When walking past Spaceship Earth on the way into the park, Connections Café and Eatery is on the left. Floor-to-ceiling windows give a full view of the open space featuring modern décor and tempting smells of pastries baking, fresh coffee brewing and burgers on the grill. Since World Celebration is located in the center of the park, Connections Café & Eatery offers some great views as well.A colorful mural called “Global Gathering” covers one wall and reflects the heart of the restaurant – people from around the world gathering around food. It's one of the biggest murals Walt Disney Imagineering has ever created. Take note how the scenes blend seamlessly from sunrise to sunset. You can also see chefs at work in three show kitchens. Watch them grilling, sautéing and baking everything from burgers to pizzas and sprinkling pixie dust on fun desserts from milkshakes to waffles.Whether it's coffee or tea, you'll find it here showcasing how various cultures enjoy their favorite drinks. As always at WDW, don't forget to look down. There are three original floor inlays inspired by Walt's 1966 “Florida Project” site plans, where EPCOT was to serve as the “center” of Walt Disney World. These details honor Walt's original dream of EPCOT. --‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!' Nate Zelinsky joins the show to tell Terry & the listeners that when it comes to hunting season, education is key. Nate gives some pointers on how you can land a slam dunk as elk season enters it's peak. Nate says know where the animals are at, and put a major emphasis on finding every animal. Once you find the animals, Nate suggests breaking it down into patterns where they are migrating to & eating at. Then come the fine-tuned minute systems & water/bedding times and areas. Nate mentions the importance of putting yourself in front of the animal when they are at their most vulnerable, and knowing when to make the decision to back off & learn more about the animal. Kirk Deeter joins the show to give Terry some of his favorite tips from his latest book, including keeping your feet dry & the chances at catching fish 90 feet from shore. Terry mentions casting, and Kirk agrees it's not the most important thing, the presentation just has to be floating the right way when it lands in the water. Terry asks Kirk where to find a copy of his book & about the good causes it's supporting, and Kirk talks about his favorite time of the year fishing in Colorado. Kirk highlights the Colorado River & Roaring Fork, and terrestrial & big streamer fishing. Also, whether or not there is simply too much going on this time of year to keep up with, including chasing white bass & wipers with flies. Ronny Castiglioni joins the show to talk about catching & harvesting white bass, and the ways to fish for them, including on the surface. Electronics are a big deal if the fish is not showing itself on the surface, and Ronny mentions when white bass park themselves on the bottom & when to work a blade-bait. Ronny likes little white power grubs for white bass on the bottom, and crank baits for those in the middle of the water column. Also, Ronny says his favorite is when the fish are pushing the bait to the surface, and you can see them from nearly a mile out. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Austin Texas Vacation and Polocrosse Hey, everybody, Ranae retired from her 9-5 job and now we have a little more freedom. The first trip was planned some time ago to Austin, Texas. We heard how Texas was a great place for bar-b-que. We also heard Austin was known for live music. We wanted to see for ourselves. We learned the Lonestar Polocrosse Club was hosting a match in nearby Coupland, Texas about 40 minutes outside of Austin. We have never seen a polocrosse match, but many of the participants use Australian Stock Horses and had met them at our Colorado Campdraft in 2013. We got to see Kellee Campbell, Kiki Pantaze, and Paul Johnson for the first time in three years. We also met some excellent players at the A level, Garret and Braxton Hamlin. I took my recorder and got a few minutes of audio, but it was extremely windy. Then the rest of the trip was mostly eating, sightseeing, and walking. We found a little comedy improv club called The Hideout and say a show. We had dinner at the Roaring Fork restaurant. We looked for music at Threadgills. Our tour of the LBJ museum was fascinating. We put a couple of other presidential libraries on our to-do list. In Austin, there are the bats at the Congress St. bridge. That is an amazing site. Seeing 750.000 bats fly out shortly after sunset from such a tiny area was amazing. All-in-all it was a great kickoff to Ranae's retirement. We'll have more horse stories in the coming weeks. Stay tuned. Get Free Helpful Horse Tips There is a "Join Our Email" list at the top of this page. Signup.
