John Rubino, [Substack https://rubino.substack.com/ ], joins us to reflect on the reasons why gold, silver, and the precious metals stocks have continued to outshine the macroeconomic turbulence and general market volatility. We start off discussing the strength in the overall precious metals complex, where silver and the PM stocks have followed gold higher in more an overall flight to safety. John points out that many companies have had positive Q4 earnings reports and wide margins and that is becoming more obvious to generalist investors that scan for outperforming market segments. The conversation then shifts to which ways these gold stocks and silver stocks should attract more investors, by either returning capital to shareholders by way of dividends or share buys back, or if they should focus on growth through acquisitions and merger transactions. John wants to see smart transactions, and not just growth for growth's sake, but feels the building cash reserves of the mining stocks will become large enough that they feel compelled to go out and purchase more mines and more ounces. We then wrap up reviewing potential paths forward through all the macroeconomic and geopolitical friction with the Trump administration tariffs, in North America, Europe, and Asia, noting the effects on inflation expectations, the sovereign debt loads, immigration, and global trade. There are a mix of different elements creating uncertainty, and factoring into the further buying of gold by both central banks and global citizens in this current macroeconomic environment. Hello, listeners of "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast." Today, we're diving into what it means to truly be the light of the world. In an era where darkness seems prevalent, how can we shine brightly enough to guide others to the truth? Jesus gave us a vivid image and a direct command that's as relevant now as it was back then. Our springboard for today's discussion is: Matthew 5:14-16: "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."These words from the Sermon on the Mount are not just poetic; they're profoundly instructional. Jesus doesn't suggest; He commands us to shine brightly. It's a directive that moves us from passive belief to active discipleship. Being a light isn't about glaring brightness but about guiding: a steady, helpful, hopeful presence in a world that can often feel overwhelmingly dark.In today's session, let's unpack how we can live out this commandment practically and powerfully in our daily lives, ensuring our light not only shines but leads others to Christ.Focus Points to Work/Study On:* Cultivate Personal Integrity:* Action: Start with the internal—ensure that your private life reflects the teachings of Christ as much as your public life. Integrity breeds authenticity, which enhances your credibility and the impact of your testimony.* Study: Dive into scriptures that discuss character and integrity. Psalm 101 and Proverbs 10 are excellent starting points.* Engage in Community Service:* Action: Actively look for opportunities to serve within your community. This could be volunteering at a local shelter, participating in community clean-ups, or helping at a food bank. Service not only meets physical needs but also opens doors for spiritual conversations.* Study: Reflect on the life of Jesus and His acts of service. The Gospels are filled with His examples of compassion and action.* Be Prepared to Share Your Faith:* Action: Equip yourself with knowledge of the Bible and your personal testimony so you can share the reason for your hope whenever the opportunity arises.* Study: Focus on 1 Peter 3:15 and develop a clear, concise way to communicate your faith story. Conclusion: Being a light in the world means more than just avoiding the darkness; it's about actively dispelling it with the brightness of Christ in us. Each small interaction, each act of kindness, each word spoken in truth can be a beam of light that pierces the shadows.Call to Action: This week, identify one way you can visibly shine Christ's light in your routine. Perhaps it's by offering to pray for a coworker, providing a meal for a neighbor, or simply choosing to speak words of life over despair.Question of the Day: What's one area in your life where you feel challenged to let your light shine? How can you address this challenge?Let's Pray: Father, thank You for calling us to be lights in this world. Help us to live lives that reflect Your love and truth so clearly that others are drawn to You. Give us the courage to shine brightly, the wisdom to guide effectively, and the strength to stand firm. In Jesus' Name, Amen.Thank you for tuning into "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast." Remember, your light is not just for your path but for those walking in darkness too. Let's make it shine far and wide! Join us next time as we continue to explore how to live a life attuned to God's voice. Episode 555: Challenge Accepted – Shining Bright Let's Talk About Lighting A Way Summary: Petrina shares the idea of people being able to share their positives with others and to join together with others for greater good. Petrina reminds us that like flames, people need a fuel source to sustain them and that over time the fuel source may vary. Petrina reminds us that when given the opportunity. Petrina encouraged listeners to share her message with others, so that they too can benefit from the message. Notes: The other day I was talking with someone who felt they weren't having the amount of positive impact that they once had. But this person was still having positive impact and even inspiring others for positive impact. I got to thinking about how brightly our lights shine and was reminded about the analogy of a flame. A flame can provide light and a flame can ignite other flames that provide greater light and still do not diminish the light of the initial flame. Of course, flames need a fuel source to sustain them. And so, it is with us as people. We give off more light when we shine together. Knowing this should help us to be intentional about sharing what we can to help ignite the possibilities in others. Sometimes, we have seasons in life when our flame is leading the way – Trailblazers of sort. Other times our flame helps to ignite others and is combined with others to provide a brighter light that serves as a guiding light for others to find a way. Both leading the way and being a part of a brighter light are very important and valuable roles, that we shouldn't discount. We must be mindful that we have the fuel needed to feed our flames and that others are also able to fuel their flames. And it may be that there is a change in our fuel source – which is part of the process of sustaining growth. So, remember in order to keep shining brightly, ensure you have something that feeds your flame, and help those around you to ignite their flames of light when you have the opportunity. When we all shine brightly, we can all live more fulfilling lives. Podcasting has already come so far. From being far away from people's minds, we are now experiencing a podcasting surge. And with its growth comes a number of changes and even more nuances in the podcasting industry. Who better to help us understand all of these things than someone who has been there since the beginning? Way back when podcasting was still in its infancy, Dave Jackson had already been the OG teaching people about it. He began podcasting in 2005, launching the School of Podcasting, which currently has over 3.3 million downloads. In this episode, he sits down with Tracy Hazzard to talk about the growth and changes he has seen in the podcasting industry and the things he learned from all those years. Dave also dives into the value of doing both solo shows and interviews and maximizing various tools to promote and grow. He then shares about the School of Podcasting, letting us in on the ways they have been helping podcasters navigate this ever-evolving world. Gain amazing insights and wisdom from the podcasting OG himself in this conversation!Love the show? Sermon Notes When the storms of life hit hardest, the Church shines brightest! Luke 9:18-19 NIV Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, "Who do the crowds say I am?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life." Luke 9:20 NIV "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "God's Messiah." Matthew 16:17-19 NIV Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Church (ekklesia) - the gathering of the called-out ones. "Gathering" implies movement and activity. Gates of Hades - the abode (house) of the dead. Every believer has been called out to plunder life from the grips of death! Luke 9:21-22 NIV Jesus strictly warned them not to tell this to anyone. And he said, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life." Luke 9:23-24 NIV Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it." Luke 9:25 NIV "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?" Luke 9:26 NIV "Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels." How can I deny myself and find true life? Our Mission is to become like Jesus by living out our Growth Path: Go - who do you know that needs the transforming love of Christ? Connect - imagine a group of people helping each other through life's ups and downs. Give - radical generosity is what shows the world we believe we are blessed to be a blessing. Serve - is the way we show the world we believe we are not here on accident. Mark 10:45 NIV "For even the Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Do you sometimes doubt if you are truly hearing God's voice or if it's really your own? Do you wonder how you can know the difference? Do you struggle to feel confident in your relationship with God and what He says in his word? Do you sometimes feel stagnant or like you hit a wall in your spiritual life? Hey, I'm your host, Rachael Groll: missionary, author, pastor, and life coach. And I have been there. I, too, was doubting God's voice in my own life. I, too, felt insecure about the things I thought God might be calling me to do. I wanted to make a difference in the world and be obedient to what God was calling me to do, but I wasn't quite sure how to figure out what exactly that was. I kept telling myself that I was wasting time trying to figure it out or waiting for Him to show me. Or that I wasn't qualified to do the things I thought He might be telling me to do. The answer for me was found in the pages of the Bible, as I learned how to understand what it was actually saying. If you are ready to grow in your faith and to step confidently into the calling God has for you, then join me as we dig deep into God's word so you can learn to live out your faith in your everyday life. Friend, you are loved, you are cherished, and you are His. The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. We will boldly obey what God calls us to do, walking through doors that only He can open. On today's episode, I had the honor of sitting down with my sweet friend, Lindsay Wineinger. We're talking all about Lindsay's story and the incredible work she's doing in her community, as well as the powerful transformation she's experienced over the last year (and is still going through) in her own life. When we're listening to podcast interviews or watching someone's journey somewhere else, so often it looks like they've already ‘achieved the thing', and it makes us feel like it's not possible for us. Lindsay is currently right in the middle of launching into some new and amazing things in her life though, and is experiencing some massive personal growth. She really shares a fresh and relatable perspective, and I LOVE that she is bringing more light and inspiration into the world. I can't wait for you to hear her story as she absolutely went from burning out to shining bright, and everything that's happened on her journey! In this episode, we cover: Lindsay's start into entrepreneurship of buying an animal feed store with her husband, to now owning multiple different businesses Losing your identity in marriage, motherhood, and work, and realizing something HAS to change Lindsay's experience of attending the ASCEND retreat, and her realization of getting ‘back to the basics' in order to rediscover herself Stepping back from certain responsibilities when you need to, and really making the time to take care of yourself Lindsay's ‘light bulb' moments and changes that have happened in her life over the last year How Lindsay's faith and relationship with God has helped realign her on her journey Understanding your enneagram to help you navigate and grow in your life Lindsay's brave (and uncomfortable) decision to go in a new direction by stepping into public speaking and consulting Why you HAVE to truly take care of yourself before you can help others Resources & Links: Your Enneagram Coach with Beth McCord The Road Back to You [affiliate link] Learn more about ASCEND retreats and get on my email list to get all the updates!
