We will reflect on the things we liked/disliked about this title in a cohesive manner along with thoughts on spin-offs/sequel aspirations. As bankers, we HAVE to deal with cyber risks. Sadly, it's a fact of life and will continue to be so. But there has to be a better way to train on the risk than we're doing. Beauceron Security, one of the ICBA/Venture Center ThinkTECH Cohorts in 2021 concentrates on telling that cyber story to bank employees. It's a fascinating concept that can really shape the way we think about improving the cyber risk to our bank. The Matrix was a cinematic marvel when it was first released in 1999, how well did it hold up over time? The guys open up the podcast with some fast firing questions in order to help you get to know Zach a little bit better. Although, there are a couple of intellectual properties that he decides to eliminate from existence for the rest of time.In the conversation about the Matrix the guys start off with some history in how the film was made, but very quickly find themselves in a conversation about simulation theory. The Matrix helped remind us that philosophical ideas can be fun to experience through the art of a good story, but are also not the best places to express every component of that philosophy. Philosophy and the Matrix go hand-in-hand but so does the ridiculous amount of leather that is worn in the movie, so the guys ask, is wearing leather fashionable anymore... or comfortable? In the discussion there are many things to be found out such as the many different influences of the film outside that of philosophy. The unique style of the Matrix was unprecedented for its time, which is partly accredited to the fact that the film makers were influenced by media that most of mainstream movies were not drawing on for inspiration. As is usual with Parallel Quest the guys share their personal stories surrounding the experience they had with this film. This week you can expect to hear stories about Y2K, other stories we thought were confusing, and the 18th birthday party where the entire Matrix trilogy was watched but only one person was actually enjoying it. Thank you so much for checking out Parallel Quest. This is a production of Steel Lake Studio. We start by talking about benchmarking countries performance metrics like good businessmen and women do for companies. Tim suggests that all Americans should be required to spend 1 year living abroad teaching English or something similar to learn about other cultures and America's place in the world. We discuss some of the empires in world history and how many countries had their time in the sun but now may be a shadow of their former selves (Greece and Portugal were a couple mentioned. )We also discussed the Spanish Empire, Chinese History, and Mongolian history, especially the Yuan Dynasty when the Mongolians ruled China. We discuss how the USA has only been around for a little over 200 years and that is a drop in the bucket in the span of world history. We talk about how the USA really capitalized on the aftermath of WWII to cement our place in the world space. We discuss how France had over 5 million casualties in WW1 (4 million wounded and 1.4 million deaths) and how they had have have demoralized them when a mere 20 years later Germany invaded France to start WW2. It is our opinion that France does not deserve the reputation of just being good at waving the white flag; any country after losing such a high percentage of their population in a horrible war fought mainly on their soil would not have been ready to fight a mere 20 years later. France lost 5% of their population to military deaths during WW1. We also talk about the common view in the USA that America won both WW1 and WW2. We discuss possible alternative outcomes to WW2: if Hitler had been able to take the UK; If Hitler had allied with the Soviet Union instead of attacking them; if Japan had attacked Russia from the eastern side. Tim then tells the story of the 47 Ronin which is a true story that happened in 1701 in Edo period Japan when Japan was an isolated country for 300 years. We talk about the Samurai Code and how honorable Samurai would commit ceremonial suicide (Seppuku). We talk about the origins of our respective states (Indiana and South Dakota). We discuss the Wounded Knee Massacre in South Dakota and Custer's Last Stand. We end with a brief discussion of the situation around the Covid 19 Pandemic.

For AP English 2019
In this episode we go over all the new units and events as per usual. Galuf looks amazing! 50% damage mitigation is crazy, and he's a great tank overall. Why do we have to farm all these new units out though? Why is this looking like DLC: get a brand new unit, JK you gotta unlock him fully. This is true for all 3 of this weeks units, plus the previous few weeks as well. This needs to stop... just give us the full units. Exdeath is looking like a fantastic mage (as EXpected). He pumps out damage and never drops his quad cast. Krile is hard to decipher. Due to the unique mechanics of evoke damage, its sometimes difficult to stack these types of units up against other more straight forwards DPS. That being said, she looks good overall, just difficult to make a real comparison because the place where you would use a unit like her is very different. Finally, we discuss the current state of the tank meta, the story so far and what we love/hate about it. Plus we have some good laughs about the Emporer and Aldore. Hope you all enjoy! While Rogue One was the first "non episode" Star Wars movie, it did tie directly into the timeline. Solo is the first movie from the franchise that focuses on a particular character and does not tie in directly to the main series. The movie is marred with a change in director, a lot of reshoots and a general sense that "no one asked for this." With all that said, how was it? This week we share our feelings on Solo and what it means for the Star Wars universe as a whole.Host: Eugene StephensGuests: Lanie Moore, Bryan Stephens, Kris Andrew, Ray AndrewLike the show? The Slaver Weapon. Aaron Harvey and returning guest co-host Joe Slepski review the only original series episode, live action or animated, not to feature Captain Kirk, "The Slaver Weapon". Written by sci-fi literary master Larry Niven this animated story combines his ‘Known Space’ universe with the Star Trek universe, well kind of. Some of the probing questions Aaron and Joe ask are: Is Starfleet stealing stasis boxes from the planet Kzin? Is Uhura really remorseless killer? And were the Slavers, the species that conquered the galaxy a billion years ago really just a Scooby-Doo villain? Grab a box of Pink Panther Flakes (yes, that was a real cereal in 1973) and join us as we watch pink suited space cats try to defeat our heroes with outdated laser guns.
