Scott Martin and Oliver Dear love talking film. However, Scott doesn't really watch them. This program shows an interesting and comedic twist on the basic film-viewing discussion. What if they knew next to nothing about the film beforehand?

NEW HARRY POTTER KIND OF! HELL YES. Oliver could not keep his eyes to himself when the trailer for 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' was released, much to Scott's chagrin. This is because Scott does a podcast where the concept revolves around Oliver not having seen the trailer for a film, so they can compare their points of view. Scott was nothappio. But now its here and we can all rejoice in the new, and unique, addition to the Wizarding World franchise. Scott and Oli being such big Harry Potter fans, they had a lot to say this week and didn't spend time with any other segments. In fact they couldnt shut up about it and went 17 minutes overtime. Enjoy!
It's time for everyone's favourite decadely reboot of the Predator franchise with the creatively titled 'The Predator' in 2018! It was soooo good... SOOOOO good. Was that a convincing way to create doubt about Scott and Oli's attitude towards this film? Oli hadn't seen any trailers for Shane Black's latest release, and Scott had never seen a Predator film. How ever will these ignorant boys interpret this piece of cra...I MEAN...craaaazy moooviiie??$ Also we play critically acclaimed or critically lame! GET IN CONTACT! In our monumental fiftieth episode, the Iggy Boys discuss the film that Oliver has wanted Scott to watch since they first met in 2009: Pulp Fiction, from director Quentin Tarantino. Its the action film some of us have been waiting for. Tom Cruise, the guy who will do some crazy stunts to make movies, is back at it again in the latest (and greatest?) Mission Impossible film. As per usual, Oli knows next to nothing about the film, other than the fact Henry Cavill is in it, and he has a villainous-looking mustache. We also play The Fruit Is Acute!
One man must infiltrate the tallest building in the world to save the ones he loves while it burns. Scott and Oliver face a similiar situation/dilemma/crisis in scope by having to put up with his brother - Josh, who joins the discussion this week on the podcast. Does Skyscraper prove to be more than a heartless action film? The trailer sure made it looking fun at the very least! Also, Scott and Josh compete in a game of Critically Acclaimed VS Critically Lame.

Pixar has just released a sequel to the 14-year-old hit film - The Incredibles. We discuss how the trailers for this hyped-up movie focus more so on the contents of the sequel - as opposed to hitting audiences over the head with nostalgia for the first one. Be very quiet if you want to listen to this week's Ignorance is This episode where we discuss John Krasinski directed and co-starring with Emily Blunt film, A Quiet Place. Not because anything bad will happen to you if you make too much noise, but just because its common audio listening courtesy to be silent in case you speak at the same time we may issue an important emergency broadcast or say something we thought was amusing. Horrors have been pretty good not spoiling anything too major as of late, in fact, some will purposely edit the trailers to make you think something entirely different from the actual movie is going to happen. Is this the case with A Quiet Place? We also discuss some movies Scott bought at a closing down video shop, and play 'Critically Acclaimed or Critically Lame'. Annihilation is a 2018 science fiction horror film written and directed by Alex Garland, based on the novel of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer. The film stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriquez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac, and follows a group of military scientists who enter "The Shimmer", a mysterious quarantined zone full of mutating landscapes and creatures. There's no denying that Lara Croft is a very popular and respected video game protagonist. But with failed movies based on her video games in the past, it is going to be a huge feat to win audiences over with the character once again. Can Warner Brother's manage a kick-ass realistic-style reboot similar to how game developer Square Enix did with their rebooted game series in 2013? In this episode, the Iggy boys discuss video games briefly for a change to coincide with Tomb Raider's release, introduce yet another one-time segment, and discuss the Alicia Vikander-led film in depth - including how promotional materials like teaser clips may have spoiled integral plot points before the movie was even released. So we've discussed 'The Room' perhaps a couple of times before - people should know what it is by now; the worst film ever made. That's the kind of thing everyone wants to see, whether for you to learn from other's mistakes, or simply for the best of entertainment. We wonder what it's like to watch a film about a film, that also happens to be the worst film. Also! A new segment sort of/kind of: Devil's Advocate. The devil is here to deliver his contrarian point of view, does Scott have what it takes to debate the devil?
Renowned 'good' movie franchise Cloverfield has released a BRAND NEW film exclusively on Netflix a few weeks ago which was a big surprise to everybody. With the previous installments being held in very high regards by critics and fans, Paradox had big shoes to fill. While Oliver had seen the others, the 'Beyonce-Style' surprise drop left him just as ignorant about this new flick as Scott this week. With no expectations other than Oliver's previous knowledge of the franchise, can Paradox hold up to the high regard? Or would we prefer there be a hole in the spaceship that is the Cloverfield franchise where Paradox can be shot out into space to be long forgotten? And as always we cap off the show with some fun games. In this episode: The Fruit is Acute! This week we watched 'Not Another Marvel Movie' haha nah jks we watched the highly anticipated 'Black Panther', one of Scott's favourite superheroes. The only thing Oliver knew about this one was that it featured a killer soundtrack by Kendrick Lamar, and that in a shockingly weird coincidence, the same actor playing the titular character in this movie, also appeared in 'Captain America: Civil War' as separate character also named The Black Panther. We also check out the list of movies coming in 2018 to decide what we're excited for, what we're going to give a pass on, and what will surely disappoint us. Hope you enjoy!
It's 2018 and we look forward to the new year by thinking about our 6.9 favourite movies of last year. It's also Oscar season, baby! Which means complaining about nominations and contemplating what should get Best Picture out of those who did. We discuss 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' a dark comedy starring Francis McDormand, Sam Rockwell, and Woody Harrelson. Definitely check it out if you're interested in some quality viewing content, or any of the other deserving best picture nominations - The Shape of Water, Get Out, Dunkirk, Lady Bird, The Post, Call Me By Your Name, and Phantom Thread (I can speak highly of the first four)!
It's finally here! The Last Jedi was quite rightly the most anticipated film of 2017. We get to see Luke Bloody Skywalker again! What a good time. But was it really a good time? For the first time in Iggy's history, the boys' topic for an episode is not one but TWO films! Scott and Oliver critically analyse Ridley Scott's 'masterpieces(?) Alien and its sequel, Aliens. Scott has been a little critical of long films from the 80s before and notoriously does not like horror films. Sounds like a recipe for disaster...or is it? A prime example of trailers fucking everything up. Kingsman: The Golden Circle, violent and smutty as the first, returns with some great additions to the first. However the differences between the film and its promotion come under the lens this week on Ignorance is This, leaving Scott and Oliver asking what it would be like to experience the film that could have been. Oliver also NAILS Scott's stupid Rotten Tomatoes game and HAMMERS home some great Haiku's that stumps Scott's deciphering skills. Gee, I wonder who whote this description. A new movie has come out this year starring Tom Cruise! Will it be Top Gun-quality? Or will it be The Mummy-quality? Or will it be average? Who knows. (We do). Find out in this episode of Ignorance Is This! Round two in the classic game of SCOTT IS SCARED OF MOVIES, this time with 'IT' (2017). Oliver hasn't seen the trailers, and knows absolutely nothing about IT, not the actors, not the characters, not even the premise (outside of knowing ITs about an evil clown). So did Scott, having seen the promotional material and alerting him to when jump scares and tense moments might occur, still wind up a wimpering mess of man? Scott also feels the need to complain once more about minor shitty pet peeves he finds in movies, and Oliver is poetically brilliant as usual by bringing some amazing haikus to the table in 'Critically Acclaimed or Critically Lame!'
Scott and Oliver answer the question on this weeks episode of Ignorance is This! How does knowing certain locations, character whereabouts, and events of Season 7 of the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones affect one's disposition or enjoyment for the show? Oliver has avoided both the pre-season trailers as well as the promo videos for each weeks episode in order to stay ignorant of these particulars. Also! Enjoy discussion on the best conditions for watching movies, learn what the movie trope known as 'offscreen teleporting' is, and scratch your head over Oliver's odd line of questioning towards Scott about peanut butter sandwiches.
