Opening Song: All of Your Ways Are Peace by The Porter's Gate Lyrics: All of Your ways are peace All of Your ways are peace Though are we are pressed on every side We trust that You are peace All of Your words are truth All of Your words are truth Though we have heard so many lies We trust Your words are truth All of Your ways are just All of Your ways are just Though we may say it through our tears We trust that You are just All of Your ways are peace All of Your ways are peace All of Your ways are peace All of Your ways are peace Passage: 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. 18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. 19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. (James 1:17–21 ESV) Musical Reflection: All to Jesus I Surrender (SURRENDER) by Winfield S. Weeden Reflection Notes: This tune was originally intended to have two-part harmonies on the verse and four-part harmonies of the refrain; the additional harmonic fullness adds to the repeated emphasis of the words “I surrender all.” Prayer: Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things: Graft in our hearts the love of your Name; increase in us true religion; nourish us with all goodness; and bring forth in us the fruit of good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

In this episode of the Secret MENS Business podcast we speak to James Parr about how his life got turned upside down after getting cancer in his ankle, and then having to have his foot amputated. His story is more than just inspiring, it demonstrates how ones mind can create adversity if challenged. James Parr was diagnosed in August 2019 with a rare form of bone cancer ‘osteosarcoma’ and after several months of chemotherapy his right leg was amputated below the knee. How does a diagnosis and resulting amputation of his leg affect such a young man? “Well, it didn’t impact on me too much as I kept getting a lot of infections and I just wanted it to be over,” James who underwent chemotherapy for almost six months after his surgery, said. “I was back in the gym 10 days later, challenging myself to see what I was capable of. “I had the artificial leg fitted a month later and didn’t particularly enjoy going into rehabilitation, I just wanted to get on with it. “I experienced some phantom pain early on after the surgery but it rarely happens now, it’s a strange kind of pain.” Today James is disciplined in his training regime, up at 5.30 am six days a week, putting in the hours with swim training, Cross-fit and strengthening, running and cycling to become more competitive in the three disciplines. He also consumes a healthy high protein diet, which includes 1 kg of fruit and vegetables daily. James works in education support at Cobram Primary School while studying to become a teacher. Before this he held a similar role at Cobram Specialist School. In what little spare time he has, he is also establishing demand from several advertisers as a photographic model. While James admits he has a long road ahead as a triathlete, he is prepared to do the hard yards and has the determination to be the best version of himself at whatever he chooses to do. Film director James Cameron is defending his decision to graze hundreds of dairy cattle on his farm, despite being an outspoken critic of animal agriculture. Cameron and his wife, environmentalist Suzy Amis Cameron, own about 1500 hectares of land in South Wairarapa, which they are transforming into an organic vegetable farm. They are big proponents of eating plant-based diets and have spoken about the need to move away from animal products. But that has prompted some criticism from Wairarapa locals who say they aren't walking the talk when it comes to being "animal-free", given there are hundreds of cattle on their property. Today James and Suzy Cameron spoke with our reporter Nita Blake-Persen about what those cows are doing on their property.

bengreenfieldfitness.com/lostart I first interviewed today's guest, immersive journalist James Nestor, about "freediving" in the episode: It was such an exciting and intriguing show that afterwards, I wound up traveling all the way to Ft. Lauderdale to take a freediving course, which absolutely changed my life (you can learn more about that in my episode with Ted Harty: ). Today James is back to talk about something we all do 25,000 times a day, yet most of us do it incorrectly or haven't even begun to tap into its lost art. That's right. I'm talking about your breath. In his new book "", James travels the world to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. The answers aren’t found in pulmonology labs, as we might expect, but in the muddy digs of ancient burial sites, secret Soviet facilities, New Jersey choir schools, and the smoggy streets of São Paulo. Nestor tracks down men and women exploring the hidden science behind ancient breathing practices like Pranayama, Sudarshan Kriya, and Tummo and teams up with pulmonary tinkerers to scientifically test long-held beliefs about how we breathe. Modern research is showing us that making even slight adjustments to the way we inhale and exhale can jump-start athletic performance; rejuvenate internal organs; halt snoring, asthma, and autoimmune disease; and even straighten scoliotic spines. None of this should be possible, and yet it is. Drawing on thousands of years of medical texts and recent cutting-edge studies in pulmonology, psychology, biochemistry, and human physiology, James turns the conventional wisdom of what we thought we knew about our most basic biological function on its head. You will never breathe the same again after hearing this podcast. During our discussion, you'll discover: -The breath work protocol James uses to begin his day...7:41 -Why James views breath as the "missing pillar" of health...9:55 -What James views as the "dis-evolution" of breathing...14:15 -The truly awful effects of mouth breathing...18:38 -The unusual connection between the clitoris and the nose...24:11 -How the left and right nostril activate the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems...27:44 -Healthy breathing practices of Native American and indigenous S.
