Are you obligated to bill the new Category 3 CPT code for penile shockwave therapy, which we currently provide as a cash service? Specifically, do we have to use the Category 3 code when billing Medicare patients, even though there is no payment associated with it, and can we continue collecting cash without making it a Medicare billable service?Is cystoscopy a moderate risk (level 4) procedure for medical decision making purposes absent other risk factors? The SHIM score (Sexual Health Inventory for Men), is a questionnaire used to assess ED. SHIM is a validated tool developed by researchers to help clinicians evaluate the severity of ED in men. It consists of five questions related to the frequency and quality of erections, with scores ranging from 1 to 25. A higher score indicates better erectile function, while lower scores suggest more severe ED. The SHIM score helps the Victory Men’s Health providers gauge the extent of the problem and guide appropriate treatment options for patients experiencing ED. Cassidy also examples the most common lifestyle factors that contribute to ED, the important role of nitric oxide in ED and the use of nitric oxide supplements, treatment options for mild, moderate, and severe ED, the use of penis pumps, and the importance of post-op care for prostatectomy patients. AAPC has two different answers, but they are almost 20 years apart! I'm looking at CPT 57160 and 57170. 57160 is insertion of pessary OR other intravaginal support device. 57170 is diaphragm or cervical cap fitting with instruction. In the AAPC post that is most recent (9/10/21) they said to use 57170 for the Estring. If 57170 is mostly to prevent pregnancy, I can't see how this would be appropriate for a woman in menopause.Hello. I have a question regarding trimix billing. August 19, 2022Mark, Ray, and Scott discuss questions that came into the PRS community:I just listened to the podcast on Order of modifiers on a claim. Just one question. I've been taught that the global modifier doesn't apply to an assistant surgeon. So if the patient is in a global you wouldn't add the 78 or 79 modifier to their claim. It would only be added to the primary surgeon. I have been coding for over 20 years and never used a global modifier on an assistant claim with no denied claims. Correct me if I'm wrong.
