The stakes couldn't be higher as Palace return to Premier League action for a massive "six-pointer" against bottom-of-the-table Wolves. With just one win in their last 15 matches and the fanbase reaching a breaking point after the midweek draw in Mostar, Selhurst Park is braced for an afternoon that feels like a final judgment on the current regime. Can the Eagles rediscover their home form against a Wolves side that is winless on the road all season, or is the slide toward the bottom three now unavoidable?Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/holmesdaleradio. The Eagles' European dream hangs in the balance after a frustrating 1-1 draw in the freezing temperatures of Mostar. Despite Ismaïla Sarr continuing his hot streak with a well-taken opener just before half-time, a costly second-half lapse saw Karlo Abramovic level the scores, leaving Palace with just one win in their last 15 matches. We're breaking down a night where 73% possession wasn't enough to kill the tie, as the traveling fans' patience finally snapped in Bosnia.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/holmesdaleradio.

As Palace's miserable run grinds on, Terence, Hesketh and Albert ask the uncomfortable question: is Jean-Philippe Mateta being unfairly hung out to dry, or is the criticism justified? The panel pick through another frustrating defeat to Chelsea, with Darren England once again centre-stage for all the wrong reasons at Selhurst Park. There's a full rundown of the latest transfer noise, a look ahead to the trip to Mostar, and a surreal moment as Glasner is confronted in the street. Another week, another crisis meeting. Piše Marica Škorjanec Kosterca, bereta Aleksander Golja in Eva Longyka Marušič. Uvaja ga opozorilo, da so osebe, dogajanje in kraji plod bogate avtoričine in bralčeve domišljije. Kraji dogajanja se menjujejo. zapisovalka živi z družino v Ljubljani in občasno obiskuje kraje nekdanje skupne države Jugoslavije. Največkrat potuje v Bosno in Hercegovino, njene začasne postaje so: Sarajevo, Mostar, Čapljina, Zenica, Banjaluka, Tuzla in Brčko. Svoja erotična doživetja in telesna občutenja opisuje nazorno in realistično. O nezaželenosti in zavračanju. Pisateljica Miša Gams spretno prepleta problematiko migracij z ljubezensko zgodbo med alžirskim migrantom in poročeno slovensko intelektualko. Zelo podrobno in realistično opisuje spolne odnose in položaje. Gotovo bo ta povezava tragike in ljubezni, zanimivih predstavitev krajev, oseb in dogodkov pritegnila pozornost bralcev in bralk.

"I did not know much about the old bridge in Bosnia until I listened to it. It is an obvious intrigue as it contains rich history of the region. I have created variations of the sound from the original field recording, and used them full in my 20 mins piece. Hopefully, it can evoke complexities of emotions as people there passing and playing by the river. "This is an acousmatic multichannel composition, thourh the stereo reduction is enclosed today. I have borrowed the title Concertino from the work of my composition professors who is no longer with us. Maybe this is the only personal story." "I am always astounded by the ephemeral nature of what unfolds on bridges and so this is what initially drew me to this recording. Are the people walking this bridge walking it for the first time? Did some of the people crossing bear witness to its destruction during the Croat-Bosniak War and eventual rebuilding of it? This bridge in particular represents the coming together and reconciliation of the international community, something we are deeply seeking during current times. It is reflective of the complex history of the region, and the willingness to rebuild what had been destroyed. The sounds of those crossing it become a part of the history of this bridge, a sonic brick that is added to this unique place. I believe that the significance of such liminal spaces is highlighted in the continuous activation of them. What's more incredible is the reflection of the bridge over the Neretva river. When viewed from off the bridge it completes a circle, a whole that can only exist by coming together. "I wanted to preserve the original recording as much as possible to show that something that was built centuries ago is still living and breathing today, continuing to reflect the diversity within the region. I had read that it was once described as “like a rainbow arch soaring up to the skies..” I interlaced different audio components together; the coming and going much like people coming and going across the bridge, creating the metaphorical rainbow, all while the river continuously passes below." Our host Stephanie Fortunato sits down with Rana Amirtahmasebi and Jason Schupbach, co-editors of The Routledge Handbook of Urban Cultural Planning, to be released in December 2024. The Handbook is the first survey of the latest and greatest thinking in urban cultural planning in 10 years, exploring approaches to bringing more cultural vibrancy and engagement in sustainable urban development. The book focuses on the spatial and social organization of urban spaces that facilitate artistic production, foster community well-being, and nurture expressions of civic identity.AcknowledgmentThe Handbook is a partnership between the editors and the World Cities Culture Forum, a network of civic leaders from over 40 creative cities across six continents who share solutions to build a world where culture is at the heart of thriving cities. Leadership at the forum, including Executive Director Laia Gasch, provided significant assistance in helping to structure the book and identify authors. In addition, the editors are grateful for the assistance provided by Global Cultural Districts Network, including Founder Adrian Ellis and Director of Special Projects Stephanie Fortunato, in finding authors and identifying key issues. Lee Wingate is the Visiting Professor today, an Englishman who lives in Vienna. He shares with us his deep knowledge of the faraway corners of European football, corners that are on full display during these weeks, because it's the best season of them all: the qualifying rounds for the European club tournaments are on. "The light rain in the original field recording has been reimagined as water dripping down from the ceiling of a long-forgotten underground space, used as a temple by a secretive cult of religious devotees. "In this composition, we hear the door to this underground space open, and footsteps as three acolytes walk down a tunnel to a small shrine they have constructed in the darkness and the dripping water. They begin to chant and sing, a wordless prayer to an unknown deity, before walking back the way they came and closing the door behind them. Their secret remains safe." Being on the ground, we witnessed the outage ourselves and suffered through hours of no air-conditioning, no digital access to money, no cold water which lead to many people, especially the elderly suffering health scares. On Friday, June 21st 2024, the power suddenly went down in Bosnia. We were situated in Mostar. When we went to see what happened, we realized the whole city's electricity was down. As the heat sweltered, it became clear eventually as some people got access to internet that 4 countries saw their grids completely collapse at the same time. This is absolutely historic. Even during the war in Bosnia, the electricity did not go down in all of the country, never mind 4 countries. Only one day earlier, the electricity went down in all of Ecuador. This is happening as we see massive weather disasters across the board. It's worth questioning what is happening. No, not some ridiculous climate change hoax. But it is anthropogenic most likely. How so? Weather modification. We've seen massive flooding in France and Switzerland recently. We've seen fires throughout the US and Canada, sudden massive hurricanes hitting Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta (which we also witnessed) leaving so much in ruins. It's just too convenient. With all of the whistleblowers coming out regarding weather modification, with Dubai accidentally causing apocalyptic floods by admittedly doing cloud seeding to bring rain, it's a conversation worth having. Order out of chaos as always. The collapse of the grid means the collapse of the food supply and access to money. This is a great test run to bring in a rationed system which eventually will correlate with a digital currency system complete with digital IDs, carbon credits and social credits because of course they will blame YOU for what THEY are doing. Problem, reaction, solution, repeat. The Hegelian Dialectic. Are you prepared for what they have in store for you? From WW3 to fake plandemics? From the destruction of the food supply to cyber attack false flags to reset the internet of things system? Are you prepared for technocracy? We hope so. Stay tuned for more from WAM!

Max Pearson presents a collection of this week's Witness History episodes from the BBC World Service. We hear from Zoheb Hassen, one half of a sibling duo from Pakistan who topped the charts in countries all over the world with their dancefloor filler, Disco Deewane. Our guest is BBC radio presenter and Pakistani music fan Raess Khan. He talks about how Pakistani pop music evolved from Zoheb's success. Entertainment star Debbie McGee, who is best known for being the assistant and wife of British magician Paul Daniels talks about escaping from Iran at the start of the revolution in 1978. In 2004 a supermarket fire in Paraguay killed more than 300 people. It was the country's biggest peacetime disaster. One of the survivors, Tatiana Gabaglio tells her story. Plus, how one of Bosnia's most famous landmarks, the historic bridge in Mostar, was destroyed by Croat guns during the Bosnian war in 1993 Finally, the unlikely friendship of a hippo and a tortoise following the tsunami in 2004. On 9 November 1993, one of Bosnia's most famous landmarks, the historic bridge in Mostar, was destroyed by Croat guns during the Bosnian war. Built by the Ottomans in the 16th Century, the bridge was a symbol of Bosnia's multicultural past. In 2014, Louise Hidalgo spoke to Eldin Palata, who filmed the destruction of the bridge, and Mirsad Behram, a local journalist. This week, we are going to Mostar in Bosnia Herzegovina. A small city that was hit hard during the Bosnian war. You can still see the marks of the war, but it's also a beautiful city with an iconic bridge. See pictures and read the blog post here.
