We're still little stunned by the amazing work delivered by Denis Villeneuve in the new Blade Runner movie. Marvelous stuff. Alyssa Milano has kicked off a Twitter Storm in the wake of Harvey Weinstein's leaked transgressions of sexual harassment and who knows what else (no one knew?! the writers of Entourage did) – we're just not sure if #MeToo sets the bar a little too low. So we needed to talk about this as well.
Blade Runner 2049 has been met with generally good reviews and smaller than anticipated audiences. Find out why two of the Regular Joes are among those enthusiastic about this long awaited follow up to Ridley Scott’s 1982 classic, and the third…not so much. Does the film stand on its own, or is it a sequel in the truest sense? Can you recreate a world crafted with old school practical effects in the age of CGI? And, how does 2049’s attempt at digital actor replication compare to other recent examples? While this show, shockingly, contains no discussion of Star Trek Discovery, a commensurate amount of time is given to the most recently announced Star Wars film title. WARNING this episode does contain SPOILERS, particularly if you haven’t heard the next “A Star Wars Story” film is named after a plastic beer cup. All this plus What’s in the Box/Show and Tell. Thanks for listening!
Finally we have a classic 'out the window' podcast again. Nice. Gaeton and March are looking out the window, having a smoke and talking about life. Noise level tests for your bike, parking bullshit and Blade Runner 2048 - stuff like that.
A Will Smith shorty this week with Ben and Aadil. We talk 'Fire Emblem: Heroes', an annoyance in '2048', and a little more of 'The Division'. And Aadil shows off how much he knows about the miracle of conception... and 'willies'. Beer-wise we welcome "Lost and Grounded" a new entry in the Bristol bottled beer market, sampling the 'Keller Pils' Hop Bitter Lager Beer. We then go Wild with the 'Evolver' IPA by the folks over at Wild Beer.
