Sasha and Erin continue the Chakra series with Agnya, meaning “Divine Permission.” This is the sixth chakra, which is considered the master chakra. It is located at the third eye, the space between the eyebrows, where the pineal and pituitary glands are, which is also where the Ida and Pingala nadis originate. The pineal and pituitary glands play crucial roles in regulating hormones, consciousness, and perception. The Pineal Gland is considered “the seat of the Soul.” It regulates circadian rhythms by producing melatonin which helps regulate sleep cycles, dreams, and altered states of consciousness. Associated with inner vision, intuition, and spiritual awakening, the pineal gland responds to light and darkness, mirroring the duality of perception (Maya vs. Truth). Considered the “Eye of Shiva” in yogic traditions, Agnya Chakra is linked to higher wisdom and deep meditation. Practices like Kriya Yoga, Trataka (candle gazing), and deep meditation activate the pineal gland, enhancing spiritual perception. The Pituitary Gland is considered “The Master Gland.” It regulates hormonal balance by controlling the thyroid, adrenal glands, reproductive organs, and metabolism. It produces growth hormone, oxytocin (the love hormone), and stress hormones. It governs physical and emotional equilibrium. It also works as the bridge between the body and higher consciousness. So when you think Pineal Gland, think Inner Vision, Allowing higher perception, deep meditation, and spiritual connection. When you think Pituitary Gland, think Master Regulator, ensuring hormonal and mental balance, helping integrate spiritual experiences into daily life.Activating the Agnya Chakra (through Ayurvedic herbs, diet and lifestyle, breathwork, meditation, and chanting mantra such as “Om Namah Shivaya”) influences pituitary function, leading to enhanced mental clarity, intuition, and self-mastery. The Rudra Granthi (or knot of Shiva) gets untied here, allowing access to the inner guru (intuition, a deeper knowing, natural intelligence, a state of clarity). Rudra Granthi is the final energetic blockage that must be untied for spiritual awakening. This knot represents ego, attachment to identity, and intellectual limitations. When untied or dissolved, Shiva-consciousness, or pure awareness, arises. There is no thought here, because we transcend thought. And we can have phenomenal impact on the field, as it gives rise to genius mind and more kundalini shakti moving up. Agnya brings Prana to the nervous system. So when we are balanced here, we go beyond habit and the causal plane. We have access to deep self-healing and a quantum mind. We receive the energy and knowledge of the timeless dimension, a state of dynamic stillness. This week, we focus on Cushing syndrome, now known as PPID. There is currently an epidemic of horses being diagnosed with this issue. It is a complex condition involving much chemistry and many hormones. So, I will continue exploring it in the next few episodes.Cushing's Syndrome and Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID)Even though the term Cushing's Syndrome in the horse health industry recently transitioned to Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID), I still prefer referring to it as Cushing's Syndrome, as that term encompasses the complexity of the condition, which involves multiple glands, not just the pituitary gland.A Holistic View Cushing's Syndrome might be defined more accurately as a hormonal imbalance rather than a pituitary issue. It is a complex condition involving many hormones and bodily systems, and many believe that underlying factors such as diet and lifestyle contribute to it, as it cannot be due to random occurrences.Stress and Inflammation as Root CausesStress and inflammation are the key contributors to developing PPID or Cushing's Syndrome. When overstimulated due to stress or inflammation, the pituitary gland produces ACTH, leading to an overproduction of cortisol by the adrenal glands. That hormonal imbalance can lead to various health issues in horses over time.Pituitary Gland and Adenoma DevelopmentIn advanced stages of PPID or Cushing's Syndrome, a growth known as an adenoma may develop on the pituitary gland, which complicates treatment. Addressing the underlying causes, like diet and lifestyle, can sometimes reverse early-stage symptoms and reduce ACTH levels.Holistic Treatment ApproachesA multi-faceted, individualized approach is essential for treating horses with PPID or Cushing's Syndrome. Since symptoms, conditions, and history of horses vary, a one-size-fits-all treatment is ineffective. For that reason, customizing programs to the individual horse is crucial for managing the condition.Hormonal Imbalance and Related SymptomsHorses with PPID often exhibit symptoms related to hormonal imbalances, like changes in shedding patterns, hair coat, excessive sweating, and fatigue. The symptoms can vary from horse to horse, making it essential to assess each case individually.Metabolic and Immune System ImpactPPID affects the metabolism of horses, often leading to weight gain or loss, depending on the stage of the condition. The immune system also gets compromised, making horses more susceptible to infections and other health issues. Long-term elevated cortisol levels can cause muscle wasting and a weakened immune response.Importance of Diet and NutritionDiet plays a significant role in managing PPID, as there is a link between sugar and inflammation in the condition. It is crucial to ensure that horses receive proper nutrition without any inflammatory ingredients. Monitoring and adjusting diet based on individual needs can help manage symptoms and improve overall health.Final Thoughts on Managing PPIDManaging PPID in horses requires a holistic approach that considers the complexity of the condition. By addressing underlying factors such as stress, inflammation, diet, and lifestyle, horse owners can help regulate hormonal imbalances and improve the quality of life of their horses.Links and resources:Connect with Elisha Edwards on her website Join my email list to be notified about new podcast releases and upcoming webinars.Free Webinar...

We've talked about what thyroid tests to do and its ranges, now it's time to understand the WHY. In this episode Dr. Rebecca walks you through the breakdown she has taught to thousands of women through the years that have worked with her because she knows how important it is to know what's going on in your body. She provides a comprehensive overview of how the thyroid gland functions and the intricacies of thyroid hormone regulation. She explains how the hypothalamus and pituitary gland regulate TSH to stimulate thyroid hormone production, and why optimal TSH levels are individual. Dr. Warren stresses the importance of testing T3, T4, reverse T3 and not relying solely on TSH to understand thyroid status. Even with normal lab results, symptoms must not be ignored. She emphasizes addressing overall health factors like sleep, stress and conversion issues to properly balance hormones long-term. This episode delivers a wealth of thyroid health knowledge that can empower listeners in their own healing journeys. NEXT STEPS: - Ready to work with me? DOORS ARE OPEN! Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2023.07.17.549333v1?rss=1 Authors: Jones, S. L., Anastassiadis, C., Dupuis, M., Pruessner, J. C. Abstract: The hypothalamus and pituitary regulate, amongst other functions, third order endocrine systems, and their volumes have been associated with normal and pathological outcomes. Yet, there are very few studies that examine their combined structural variations in vivo. This is due, in part, to their small size and a lack of comprehensive image segmentation protocols. In the current project we acquired high-resolution T1- (1mm isotropic) and T2-weighted (0.4mm in plane resolution) 3T magnetic resonance images (MRI) of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, as well as salivary estradiol and testosterone from 31 (17M, 14F) young healthy adults. Women reported oral contraceptive use. Image preprocessing included non-uniformity correction, signal intensity normalization and standard stereotaxic space registration. We applied a comprehensive manual segmentation protocol of the whole hypothalamus, with detailed segmentation of the pituitary stalk, the anterior and posterior pituitary gland, and the posterior bright spot. We also propose a novel medial-lateral hypothalamic parcellation into medial preoptic, periventricular (PVN), and lateral hypothalamic regions. The protocol yielded good inter- (range: 0.78-0.92) and intra-rater (range: 0.79-0.94) Dice kappa overlap coefficients. We detected sex differences of the whole hypothalamus and each hemisphere, and a trend for the right preoptic region to be larger in males than in females, with a moderate effect size. Sex differences were maintained or enhanced when covarying for estradiol, but not when covarying for testosterone. In addition, testosterone was associated with the volume of the PVN, but only in women. In summary, these results suggest that there are morphometric differences at the level of the pituitary and hypothalamus that are likely driven by central regulation of gonadal hormones. The here described protocol allows the structural investigation of neuroendocrine effects in the central nervous system. Copy rights belong to original authors. The Hypothalamus is located just above the Pituitary Gland and below the Thalamus. It's a part of the Forebrain and plays a key role in controlling the Pituitary Gland, body temperature, appetite, autonomic functions, and other general functions of maintaining homeostasis, or a balance within the body. In this fast-facts episode, Edward reviews the Hypothalamus's form and function, as well as the key features that make us who we are.To create this episode, I used information provided by Shahid, Asuka, and Singh, 2021 in StatPearls through NCBI Bookshelf which can be found here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK535380/No statement, phrase, or episode of this series—or any episode in this podcast—are intended to treat, diagnose, cure, prevent, or otherwise change your mind or body in any form or manner. In this Video we are learning about the the third eye chakra which governs our intuition and Pituitary Gland. A healthy third eye and pituitary gland is important in order to go from constant states of fear, anxiousness, and not trusting, to faith, love, and acceptance. This state of consciousness is what our ancestors the Mayan spoke about when they referred to the Age of Harmony. To access this state of consciousness we have to have a healthy Third Eye or Pituitary Gland. Below are the instructions and music to the Meditation and feel free to Share your experience of this meditation below in the comments. Sat Nam From 3Ho.org Indra Nittri means the eyes of Indra. It connotes the feeling that every pore of the body becomes an all-seeing eye. It represents knowledge that comes through the soul and intuition. The body is a temple through which you can experience the consciousness of the Infinite. As that happens, all knowledge and bliss flow through you. This mantra—the Siri Mantra—contains the essence of the wisdom of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of the Sikhs. It is said to bring great intuition to the practitioner. After chanting this mantra, don't say anything negative for some time. It is a creative chant which can amplify and manifest anything you speak. When you are in this state, give your prayers and most positive projections for health, happiness, and holiness. The Practice Posture: Sit in Easy Pose, with a light jalandhar bandh. Mudra: Grasp the knees firmly with the hands. Keep the chest and spine lightly lifted. Eyes: The eyes are closed or 1/10th open. Mantra: Meditate through the Brow Point on the movements of the tongue as you chant the Siri Mantra in a steady rhythm: EK ONG KAAR, SAT GUR PARSAAD SAT GUR PARSAAD, EK ONG KAAR Pull the Navel Point in on EK. Release the Navel Point on KAAR. Lift the Diaphragm Lock with SAT and GUR. Release the lock on the sound of PARSAAD. This will create a wave-like motion of tension and relaxation in the torso. It will release great heat in the body. What the heck is the HPA axis??This week we're talking about the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal axis. This is the group of glands that produce hormones or messenger chemicals in our bodies that regulate our response to stress. What this means in layman's terms is that we are talking about cortisol, our sympathetic nervous system and our fight-or-flight response.Today's world leaves many of us in a chronic state of stress. Our Cave Sisters understood that the fight-or-flight response was reserved for times when chased by a woolly mammoth. But our Modern Sisters see stress almost constantly, eliciting a chronic state of a 'turned on' sympathetic nervous system, adrenal stress and bad metabolic health. We are here to show you the triggers of adrenal stress and describe real-life solutions for shedding some of the stress. We give you the physical repercussions of maintaining a high-stress lifestyle.Midlife is time to enjoy, to reclaim your power and to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system. This one is for all my fellow Mamas that are trying to make their way through summer, walking out the exhausting seasons with their kids of any age, or just is so angry at the various things surrounding them in this broken world their anger or grief is overflowing into their parenting or marriages or other familial relationships. Today I get to share with you my conversation with Natalie Hixson who specializes in helping discouraged and burnt-out moms overcome destructive anger, so they can enjoy being a wife and mom. Natalie shares with me her story of working through being early married, learning how to fight and communicate in general, and her extreme anger that surfaced during her motherhood. She vulnerably shares her story of recognizing her problem with anger, her rage that would exist alongside her young children's tantrums, battling her shame, and her journey to pursue healing and help. That journey began with recognition of the problems, the actual lifelong journey of addressing her reactions to anger, yelling, and how to listen to herself, others, and the Lord. Natalie shares with us some of her processes about how to release the guilt, go back and repent and surrender to the Lord, and watch Him work in the relationships with our children, our spouses, and anyone else that we are struggling to not be angered by. The wisdom that Natalie shares today is truly powerful, and is saturated with hope, and I cannot wait for you to hear it. I hope that no matter where you are today, you can believe Natalie when she says that it is never too late for redemption. That is the heart of God. He is always ready to show us a different way. If what we discuss in this conversation today resonates with you, or even this post peaks your interest, and check our link in bio for her Natalie's Trigger Tracker, and find out more about her coaching and other resources there too. 'm so grateful to Natalie for sharing her story so vulnerably so her testimony can point others, like me, to hope and to the heart of God. The same is true for you friend. Another lima bean sized gland that is very critical to enlightenment. In combo, the pineal and the pituitary gland both activate the Third Eye which has been dubbed the "seat of the soul" and the link to universal connection and consciousness. Oooo, is that all! This is about unlocking energetic potential in you from kick ass intuition, sight, sacred understanding, contentment, etc. It is available to the masses, and from my perspective, has been locked away on purpose. Haw, haw, time to retrieve it, babies.Pituitary/Third Eye References:https://themindsjournal.com/the-third-eyehttps://www.bookofthrees.com/third-eye-pineal-glandhttps://crystal-information.com/encyclopedia/pituitary-glandhttps://healingtones.org/2019/08/24/the-spiritual-significance-of-the-pituitary-glandhttp://www.multidimensions.com/the-conscious/thoughts-door/the-sixth-chakra-and-opening-the-third-eyeModel of the Gland:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QceLMzalWqQReal:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyl9gi0PnW8Woman holding a real brain:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zsSxrlIR_c&t=39sPOD DETAILS:Host: Eden Koz / Just Be®, LLCWebsites: EdenJustBe.com or EdenGhostBusters.comFacebook: Eden KozInstagram: Eden KozYouTube: Just Be ChannelMusic: Created by Ryan Sulibuk. This endocrine gland has such BIG potential even though it is the size of a pea. In combo, the pineal and the pituitary gland both activate the Third Eye which has been dubbed the "seat of the soul." This episode offers why it is our birthright, and why information about it has been purposely elusive. I will talk about ways to decalcify it (which is how it exists in most people), activating it and of course... a Just Be Practice specifically focusing on it. This will be a progression as the next episode will be about the pituitary gland... Sharmyn McGraw knows as much about pituitary disease as some doctors. She learned about it after struggling for years with a medical mystery that began in 1993. First, she began to feel anxious. Then, she began to gain weight, and she developed a rash. Much of her hair fell out. Her eyes began to yellow and her face puffed up. Different doctors gave her different explanations. They told her she was allergic to caffeine. That she was just retaining water. That she was beginning menopause. In the end, none of those things turned out to be true. She finally figured out that she had Cushing's Disease, which is caused by excess production of the hormone cortisol, which, in her case, was caused by a tumor on her pituitary gland. Listen to this episode to find out how Sharmyn got to the bottom of her medical mystery with the help of Dr. Dan Kelly, and how she uses years of knowledge to help others suffering from pituitary diseases through the support group she founded at the Pacific Neuroscience Institute.
Meet Dr. Alex Golden & Megan Blacksmith Dr. Alex Golden (M.D.) and Megan Blacksmith (Health Coach & Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and graduate of Chris Kresser's ADAPT Practitioner training) of Zesty Ginger help women optimize brain function and hormone health by teaching women to use the power of their thoughts and beliefs as well as the phases of their menstrual cycles to their advantage. The natural ebb and flow that happens to our hormones, organ systems and bodies overall as women is there to renew and strengthen us. When we work with the natural cycles of our bodies, we allow ourselves to heal and recover on a level that few of us ever reach when we operate within the "rules" of the hectic modern world. In the Zesty Ginger duo of Megan and Dr. Alex, Megan focuses on the power of our thoughts, beliefs, energy, and frequency in a health journey. They are the founders of Healthy Hormones Group Program, Health Transformation Accelerator, Flight or Flight Fix, and co-host of the 4 Phase Cycle Podcast. There Is Not One Right Path For Everyone Both Dr. Alex Golden and Megan Blacksmith shared their rock bottom health experience. They tried everything in the medical system, including testing and numerous medicines, pills, and visits that led to feeling even more hopeless. Each came back hearing that they were 'fine' and that there was nothing else to do because their testing showed no health issues. In this experience of feeling frustrated and misunderstood, they each changed course in their lives to study and learn how our bodies are so much more than the physical body we know. From an integrative approach, they each studied how the brain, our habits, and our beliefs have way more to do with health than we understand. Dr. Alex Golden went back to medical school. Megan Blacksmith pursued functional medicine and nutritional healing. Much of what they teach is to trust your inner wisdom, know that you can shift your beliefs and physical, emotional and mental state and that there is no one right or same path for everyone. Their goal was to create transformational healing for all who desired it. The Powerful World of Transformational Healing This model of transformational healing looks at the body as a whole system and includes the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual body. Can I get a hallelujah for that? Much of what we forget to address is the crucial aspect of our beliefs and habits. Both women talked about being told that their cases wouldn't get better. If they believed those mandates, they wouldn't have healed. It often becomes a choice whether to listen to a doctor or your internal voice. Much of what's important to understand is that the brain is highly involved with getting better and healing. Most of us are doing anything we can to feel better, especially if we've been sick for a while or struggled with a situation like Dr. Alex, who had endometriosis or horrible cramping. You need to be in a healing mode, which means new ways of thinking, beliefs, and habits. Our emotions and thoughts affect and communicate with our Central Nervous System (CNS). Because our brain is always looking to be most effiicent, it will stay on autopilot and remember your habit pattern of thought and emotion. Different thoughts can change the chemical messages in your brain. While it's important to change habits around sleeping, eating and movement, it's even more important to change your thought pattern. Changes in thoughts change your brain chemistry, which changes everything. Habits, Hormones, and Your Brain To be receptive to change habits and your brain, you need to be coming from your parasympathetic system (rest and digest) rather than your sympathetic nervous system (fight and flight). The sympathetic nervous system is what gets triggered when we're in a state of stress. It's also essential to understand the HPA axis; this is the connection and chain reaction from your Hypothalamus, Pituitary Gland, and Adrenals. Most don't realize that the hypothalamus, a region in the forebrain, controls hunger, thirst and determines what is in the bloodstream. It decides whether you'll sleep well, lose weight, have great skin, or whatever it is you believe. To make real change and have a transformation, you've got to understand how vital your habits and beliefs are. Some of the steps to making a change are getting clear on your goal, getting your body into a parasympathetic state, finding old beliefs that don't serve you and releasing and installing new ones—then making an empowered decision to change and making sure your actions align with who you are becoming. Most importantly, watch your thoughts and beliefs to ensure they best support your intended state and outcome. Three Tips and Techniques to Heal and Thrive Dr. Alex Golden shared three powerful tips that you can use for your physical, mental, and emotional body for greater healing and calm. The Physical Body: It's important to activate the vagus nerve, connected to many bodily functions like digestion, processing emotions, stress, etc. One simple way to activate your vagus nerve is to thump your hand on your chest bone for at least a repetition of 20 times. Try this until you feel a resonance. Other practical ways to do this are singing, humming, and gargling. The Mental Body: Try this 'Standing in the Eye of the Storm' technique where you imagine yourself in the center of a big storm. Pull in your energy, create space and stay connected to your own self. Imagine your staying calm and collected in the storm. The Emotional Body: Try the 'White Light Shower'. This is all about connecting to unconditional love. Imagine a beautiful white light from above entering at the top of your head, moving down to your feet. Allow your emotions, any that are there, to flow with the light to the bottom of your feet and imagine these emotions, along with the light, being recycled into the earth. To learn more and try their Transformation workshop, go to zestyginger.com/transform or on Instagram: @zesty_ginger Final Thoughts Dr. Alex Golden and Megan Blacksmith help us see that if you want transformational healing in your life, you have to see there is more to it than medicine. You have to look at the bigger picture. View yourself as a complete entity (which you are) and address your needs on this higher level than treating just your physical symptoms. That is where you will find true transformational healing. Looking To Help Others Know Who They Are and Design Their Best Life? The sphenoid bone is the only bone that connects to all the other bones of the cranium and its movement is responsible for "milking" the Pituitary Gland to secrete its hormones. The pituitary gland is situated in the Sphenoid Bone at the base of the brain. The pituitary gland secretes nine hormones that regulate homeostasis. As the master gland of the body, it produces many hormones that travel throughout the body, directing certain processes or stimulating other glands to produce other hormones. This also impacts the Pineal Gland that produces melatonin, a serotonin derived hormone, that affects the modulation of sleep patterns in both seasonal and circadian rhythms. With metabolic changes occuring from intense magnetic shifts, people are experiencing great changes or disruption in their sleep patterns and bodily rhythms. Heart rate, breathing, sleeping and eating patterns may feel they are changing. Individually, the Pineal and Pituitary provide key influences in our Spiritual Awakening. To become awakened into sacred union or hierogamy, the sphenoid activates these two individual glands to merge their energies in the brain and alchemically produce a new hormonal substance. The merging of these glandular energies allows the Cosmic Heart energies from the Godhead to be transmitted into the Pineal Gland which communicates to the Pituitary, in order to merge with the physical earthly energies that the master gland regulates. The activation potential in the human body is coming online with the pituitary gland's higher functioning, which impacts the sphenoid bone's alignment in our skull, which acts as the housing for the pituitary gland. This area of our skull is a cosmic resonator of the unified consciousness of Christ or Oneness. The cosmic energy is transmitted through the Sphenoid Bone, is also transmitted electro-tonally into the planetary grid pattern and instruction set, and this particular Blue Ray language appears on the ley lines as the etheric light blue butterfly pattern. The butterfly pattern is seen in the shape of the actual Sphenoid Bone, which looks similar to our pelvic bone, except its inside our skull. In the 3rd eye, or in the center of your brain, that is the area where the sphenoid bone is, and it is shaped as butterfly wings. This bone and this area of the inner skull is a receptor and receiver for cosmic energy. Much Love, health and healing, Christy, The Intimate Warrior. This week we talk about 'the master gland'. Getting all Lord of the Rings on you, it's a gland that rules them all! Or at least one that controls lots of the other endocrine glands in the body. This podcast covers the many functions of the gland and some of the hormones it produces. We will explore the anatomy and location of the gland, and outline the anatomical reasoning for some of the visual symptoms we see in pituitary tumours.

Please excuse the beginning of this video as I was receiving interference. In the center of the Brain, through the Higher Mind of Self, is the Cave of Brahma & the Crystal Palace. The Crystal Palace is the awakening of all centers of the Brain where the I Am Presence awakens. It is where Amrita is created. When the Crystals are fully activated within the Brain, it allows for more Light to be perceived. Our Brain is the Receiver. Our Heart interprets the information. Our Voice speaks Its Truth. The Krystal Palace is the alchemical brain wedded chamber which activates Krystal Waters or anoints the Crown and brain with amrita oil. The amrita oil is activated through the sacred marriage between the Mother principle of the Pituitary Gland and the Father principle of the Pineal Gland. It is this oil that lights the Consciousness Lamp inside the brain. It's between the old brain at the back and the new brain at the front of the head, between the left and right hemispheres, sitting above the two Wings of the mysterious ventricles. It rests between the two large cerebrums at the anterior end of the cerebellum. The cerebellum is one of the oldest features of the brain, involved in coordinating muscular activity in the body. It's said that when the Krystal Palace is activated it becomes illuminated like a thousands suns. The Self Realized Man is the One that has merged with the Spirit of God (Ruach). I will definitely do it next time or just do a Ancestry, 23 & Me or some other Blood test that is on the internet. Hello dear listener and welcome to this expert led episode of owning it the anxiety podcast with your host, author Caroline Foran. This time we are delving into our endocrine system. What role do our hormones play when it comes to anxiety? What's the job of our pituitary gland - what even is that - and why is this so important if we want to bring down our anxious symptoms? Long story short, your hormones are EVERYTHING. And we so often overlook them or are completely unaware of how powerful they can be. It's not all in your head, it's all in your hormones. Here internationally renowned endocrinologist Dr Mary Ryan helps us to better understand our hormones, the key players involved with anxiety in particular, and advises us on precisely what our pituitary gland needs in order to function well, which, of course, leads us to feeling less anxious. Episode 10.....Reptilian Brain....Aliens....Slave Race....Yep, we are going there, into the land of the woo woo. For this episode we invite you to have an open mind and consider some ideas that may have never been in your paradigm before. The questions of Where do I come from and Why am I here have been the questions of philosophers, religions and human-kind across time. What if Science Fiction is more Fact than Fiction? What if we have been enslaved as a human race and have been in an illusion of who we really are? What if, our interconnectedness expands beyond our planet and into the Cosmos? Are we really Inter-Galactic Royalty and our expansion and evolvement affects over 25 different Alien species because our DNA comes from more than 25 different inter-galactic races? Come along with us as we explore a different narrative than the traditional religious story we've been given through a Patriarchal system. Does it resonate with you or absolutely not? Our Ask today is: Can I be willing to be open minded and look at things I never considered before? We'd love to hear your thoughts on our IG page or FB page. Let's have a conversation.REFERENCES: The Arcturian Anthology by Tom Kenyon & Judi Sion,

Firstly they spoke to Jo about her own experience with her own Pituitary Gland producing excessive Human Growth Hormone due to a growth. Catriona McLean, a neurological pathologist and director of the Victorian Brain Bank, as well as surgeon Nicky Martin also discuss the tiny gland so vital to our brains.
Disclaimer: We're not endocrinologists! You are more than a lab value. Lab values are based off tests run in the 1960s based on high carb standard American diet What is the Thyroid? TSH secreted by Pituitary Gland (in your brain) TSH stimulates the thyroid gland (in your neck) A gland that secretes hormones Two main hormones T4, T3 Thyroid function is measured by measuring TSH, T4, T3 Influences fertility, energy, metabolism, body temperature regulation, blood lipids, It controls the metabolic rate of every organ in the body You die without a thyroid Disorders of Thyroid Hypothyroidism (more common) People often take levothyroxine Hyperthyroidism (too much thyroid hormone) Does diet influence thyroid? Absolutely, but why? E.G if you are in famine, you wouldn’t want to have baby, you would want to slow your metabolism etc. Any change in environmental stimuli / lifestyle may affect thyroid Diet is no exception T3 increases as carbs increase (To help metabolise carbohydrates) When you decrease carbs, T3 decreases If your on meds, you will need a change Like Coumadin. Its neither bad nor good just a change Is this bad? Maybe maybe not Anecdotally, people do report change in thyroid function when going from SAD to KETO, the question is why? Calorie restriction lowers thyroid hormone. People often decrease calories because they are full. You may lower your T3 You also need less T3 when keto. More carbs and you need more T3 to metabolism those carbs. Weight loss itself reduces conversion of T4 to T3 (the active form) Exercise influences thyroid (too intensively) Psychological stress influences thyroid Studies do show decrease in conversion of T4 to T3 with fasting and keto Eat more you get more conversion All these things may lower metabolism to conserve energy. IT ALL COMES DOWN TO HOW YOU FEEL If you feel great, who cares what your thyroid panel comes back at If you don't feel right and your thyroid panel is abnormal and you have a history of thyroid issues, adjust medication as needed Work with your physician. When changing anything in your environment your thyroid medication MAY need to be changed so you might needs labs checked every 2 week What does the research show? Most studies are on rats Most studies that look at low carb, high fat use PUFAs (corn oil, safflower) Let’s remind everyone WHY we don't eat veggie oils EVER! Rats on a safflower oil diet have a more greatly reduced metabolic response to T3 than rats on a beef fat diet. Rats on a high-PUFA diet have brown fat that’s less responsive to thyroid hormone. Remember, brown fat is the type that generates heat to keep us warm. Let's remind everyone WHAT brown fat is Rats on a long-term diet high in soybean oil have terrible body temperature regulation, which thyroid function in large part controls. Let's remind everyone WHY we don't eat soybean oil The more rapeseed meal (from which PUFA-rich canola oil is derived) you feed turkeys, This reduced thyroid signaling isn’t a function of all polyunsaturated fats, however. Omega-3 PUFAs, found in seafood, increase thyroid signaling in the liver. What about a study on Humans? Jeff Volek ran a low-carb, high-fat study in adults using a diet with Primal-ish fatty acid ratios (8% carbs, 61% fat, 30% protein, with 25% calories coming from SFA, 25% from MUFA, and 11% from PUFA). He didn’t directly measure T3, but the high-fat group had normal T4 and lost significant body fat, which is very hard to do if you’re hypothyroid. If you have thyroid issues, recognize keto might not work for you. Maybe try LCHF Lower carbs without ketosis does not influence thyroid function usually (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16423633) With LCHF you have many of the same benefits with the unlikely result of influencing thyroid https://blog.virtahealth.com/does-your-thyroid-need-dietary-carbohydrates/ https://www.marksdailyapple.com/is-keto-bad-for-the-thyroid/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3705 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2352037 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6884571 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24882411 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19793640 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12077732?dopt=AbstractPlus https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/97492 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/109731
Welcome to The Nutritional Pearls Podcast! Focusing on topics that include digestion, adrenal fatigue, leaky gut, supplementation, electrolytes, stomach acid, and so much more, “The Nutritional Pearls Podcast” features Christine Moore, NTP and is hosted by Jimmy Moore, host of the longest running nutritional podcast on the Internet. Sharing nuggets of wisdom from Christine's training as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Jimmy's years of podcasting and authoring international bestselling health and nutrition books, they will feature a new topic of interest and fascination in the world of nutritional health each Monday. Listen in today as Christine and Jimmy talk all about the endocrine system in Episode 15. Here's what Christine and Jimmy talked about in Episode 15: 1. What is the Endocrine System? The collection of glands that produce hormones that regulate metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction, sleep, and mood, among other things. 2. Definition of hormones: Regulatory substances produced in an organism and transported in tissue fluids such as blood to stimulate specific cells or tissues into action. 3. Glands of the endocrine system and the minerals they depend on: A. Hypothalamus: Located in the brain, this is the part of the brain that controls the endocrine system. Think of it as a control center. It links the nervous system to the endocrine system through the Pituitary Gland. It releases at least 7 to 8 hormones that control the Pituitary Gland. The hypothalamus needs chromium for good health. 1. Thyrotropin-releasing Hormone (TRH)-a releasing hormone produced by the hypothalamus that stimulates the release of thyrotropin (thyroid-stimulating hormone or TSH) and prolactin from the pituitary gland. 2. Gonadotropin-releasing Hormone (GnRH)-signals the pituitary gland to create two hormones called leutenizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) 3. Growth Hormone-releasing Hormone (GHRH)-stimulates the pituitary gland to produce and release growth hormone into the bloodstream. Once growth hormone is releases into the blood, it has an affect on just about every tissue of the body to control metabolism and growth. 4. Corticotropin-releasing Hormone (CRH)-Its main function is to stimulate the pituitary gland to produce Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) 5. Somatostatin - it regulates the secretion of hormones coming from the pituitary gland, including growth hormone and thyroid stimulating hormone. It also inhibits the secretion of pancreatic hormones which include Glucagon and Insulin 6. Dopamine - this functions as a neurotransmitter which is a chemical released by neurons or nerve cells to send signals to other nerve cells. The brain has many distinct dopamine pathways and one of these pathways plays a big role in reward-motivated behavior. B. The Pituitary Gland: Located in the brain, it has also been described as the “master gland” because it secretes hormones that control other endocrine glands. It needs manganese for good health 1. Oxytocin-controls key aspects of the reproductive system and some aspects of human behavior 2. Prolactin-hormone that helps women produce milk after childbirth and it's important to both male and female reproductive health 3. Leutenizing Hormone-triggers ovulation and stimulates the production of testosterone 4. Anti-diuretic Hormone (ADH)-tells your kidneys how much water to conserve; it also constantly regulates and balances the amount of water in your blood 5. Human Growth Hormone (HGH)-encourages growth in children and adolescents, helps to regulate body composition as well as bodily fluids and muscle and bone growth, helps regulate sugar and fat metabolism, and it possibly helps with heart function C. The Pineal Gland also known as the Third Eye: This gland is also in the brain and it produces melatonin which helps with circadian rhythm. It is also known as the Third Eye because the Third Eye chakra in the Hindu system is located in the center of the forehead which is near the pineal gland. It depends on iodine and boron for good health. D. The Thyroid Gland: It depends on iodine and tyrosine. It is located in the front of the neck just below the Adams apple and is considered to be one of the major glands in the regulation of metabolism. It produces: 1. thyroxine (T4) which gets converted to its active form, triiodothyronine (T3) with the help of selenium. T3 controls basil metabolic rate 2. Calcitonin-responsible for the uptake of calcium to the bone E. The Parathyroid Gland: It's located in the neck behind the thyroid and produces parathormone or PTH which is associated with the growth of muscle and bone and distribution of calcium and phosphate in the body. It depends on calcium for good health. F. The thymus: The thymus lays across the trachea and bronchi in the upper thorax. It produces thymosin which triggers the immune system by activating the T-Cells and T-Lymphocytes which are white blood cells associated with antibody production. The thymus needs zinc for good health. G. The pancreas: It lies behind the stomach and needs chromium for good health. The pancreas produces: 1. Insulin by the Beta Cells which is responsible for the conversion of glucose to glycogen, shuttling glucose into the cells, and the conversion of excess glucose to fat 2. Glucagon by the Alpha Cells which is responsible for the conversion of glycogen to glucose H. The adrenal glands: They are on top of the kidneys and they rely on copper for good health. They produce: 1. Adrenalin which prepares the body for fight or flight 2. noradrenalin-which has similar effects to adrenalin 3. corticosteroids that include cortisol, cortisone, and corticosterone I. The ovaries: They are located in the lower abdomen and they rely on selenium for good health. They produce: 1. Estrogen which is responsible for the break-down of the uterus wall 2. progesterone which builds up and maintains the uterus wall for embedding of fertilized egg and is also associated with body hair, breast enlargement, and physical changes in the body J. The testes: They're located outside the pelvic cavity and produce testosterone which is responsible for the development and function of male sex organs and is associated with body hair, muscle development, and voice change. They rely heavily on selenium for good health. K. The prostate: It's about the size of a walnut located between the bladder and the penis. It produces prostate-specific antigen (PSA) which help keep the sperm in liquid form. The prostate relies on zinc for good health. 4. People with different endocrine issues carry weight on specific parts of the body A. If someone has adrenal gland problems through prolonged stress, cortisol is released and stores fat around the most vital organs which are in your midsection. Thus, a person with adrenal issues will carry more weight around their midsection. B. People with thyroid issues tend to carry weight all over since the thyroid controls the metabolism in all of your cells. C. For people with problems with their ovaries, they will tend to carry extra weight around their hips and lower stomach area. D. If a person has liver problems, they will tend to carry extra weight around their body but have thin legs 5. Blood sugar imbalances mess up the entire endocrine system because not only are the pancreas, liver, and adrenal glands all necessary for blood sugar regulation but they are also heavily involved in the endocrine system. Nutritional Pearl for Episode 15: It is very important to make sure blood sugar levels are normalized and under control before addressing any endocrine problem you have because blood sugar imbalances disrupt the entire endocrine system. OXYTOCIN is a hormone and it is often called the “love hormone” because of its crucial role found in relationships, social bonding, maternal behaviour and intimacy. Oxytocin spikes are found to be the highest during an orgasm or during an act of kindness. Oxytocin is a powerful hormone and a neuropeptide that is produced in the hypothalamus and also secreted from the Pituitary Gland. Oxytocin was discovered in 1952 and is currently listed on WHO - World Health Organization's list of Essential Medicines (the most important medication needed for healthier function of human health system.) An example of oxytocin is when two individuals are attracted to each other and the feelings of care and compassion arise, that’s all because of the rising levels of oxytocin, which we further call Love. So Why is this hormone so important? Well, this one hormone has the power to change the world and we literally mean it . Here is a study to back this claim. According to the New England Journal of Medicine, when we perform acts of kindness, the giver and the receiver both were found to have spiked levels of oxytocin and the individual watching this act of kindness also reported the spiked oxytocin level. In a recent study in New England Journal of Medicine a 28 year old person walked into a clinic and donated a kidney. This set off a “pay it forward” ripple where the recipient's family further donated their kidneys to someone in need and this domino effect eventually helped 10 people who received kidneys as a consequence of that anonymous donor. Its very similar to the pebble that creates waves when it's dropped in a pond. The act of kindness ripples outwards touching many lives and inspiring the wave of kindness. Why should you care about this hormone? Besides the fact the it makes you fall in love and is responsible for feelings of care and compassion. Oxytocin exposure has also been studied to reduce social anxiety and fear. In 2015 a study conducted by Monika Exckstein and Benjamin Becker at the University of Bonn in Germany. Their aim was to prove that Oxytocin Facilitates the Extinction of Conditioned Fear in Humans. This study had 62 participants in randomized, double blind and placebo controlled design. These individuals were exposed to the fear conditioning paradigm by showing them photographs of faces and houses but they were accompanied by random electric shocks. Since, these photographs were non threatening and were neutral in nature, the brain couldn’t respond with presupposed fear. 30 min later they received brain scans and and the activity in their amygdala was recorded. The group was now given a mix of placebo and oxytocin nasal sprays. Then 30 mins later they were exposed to the same photos of faces and houses but without an electric shock. The subjects who received the oxytocin spray when shown the same photos as before without the electric shock, had increased activity in the prefrontal cortex (the part of the brain responsible for controlling fear.) Therefore their brain controlled their fear significantly better than the placebo group. How to: Those of you who are interested in knowing how to apply oxytocin and its ways in your business, team or an organization should look for the Ofactor study from Drucker Institute (we have the detailed study and links on our website jolsid.com ). According to the Drucker Institute and quote “ when managers implement policies that raise trust, colleagues at work have the incentives and resources to perform better, boosting organizational performance. The neuroscience provides precise predictions for how to best practice Ovation (give praise), build eXpectations (set clear goals) and promote the other OXYTOCIN factors.” go check it out on our website. Now for your personal use If applied effectively under the supervision of a physician Oxytocin can increase trust, reduce anxiety and fear, promote a ripple effect of kindness. Any Creative, Entrepreneur or Athlete looking for an edge by building better personal relationships, stronger business connections, and larger fan bases must first start with an act of kindness, give more hugs and cuddle if possible (just in appropriate places please). You can also talk to your physician if you think you have low levels of Oxytocin. But please do not take oxytocin on your own because excess use of this hormone has been linked with autism. So, love everyone and try to spread the ripple of compassion and kindness and we can all collectively change this world.
Answer: B. benign tumors on the pituitary that cause excess secretion of growth hormone. Rationale: A patient with acromegaly produces too much growth hormone as a result of small tumors that develop on the pituitary gland. The condition causes excess growth of tissue, resulting in enlarged hands, feet, and facial structures. We describe a series of 18 patients with an intrasellar mass incidentally discovered by computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging. The average size of the mass was 13 mm, with a range from 5 to 25 mm. Initial ophthalmologic examination revealed bitemporal hemianopia in 2 patients. Results of routine endocrine testing showed partial hypopituitarism in 5 patients and growth hormone hypersecretion without signs and symptoms of acromegaly in 1 patient. Four patients underwent neurosurgery. Histologically, one chondroid chordoma and three pituitary adenomas were found. In the remaining 14 patients treated conservatively, repeated computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed no significant change in tumor size at the time of follow-up (median, 22 months). Our results suggest that the "incidentaloma" of the pituitary gland is a benign condition that does not necessarily require neurosurgical intervention.
