Proud to say it. Went round the horn on this one. Did ALL FOUR Philadelphia sports teams and we liked it. What kinda era are we in? Championship / near championship? Or just typical Philly "almost got there" sorta second/third place vibes?Gosh, I don't know the answer to these questions, but we certainly tried on Hoagie Mouth. First up it's the Phillies as the off-season starts to come into full focus. We did what we did, are we done? How much of this is "runnin it back" / definition of insanity or is it the RIGHT CREW to get us over the hump? Welp, pitchers and catchers in like 3.5 weeks in Florida chums.Next it's the Eagles and their search for an OC. As time marches on, the pickings get more slim. But will it be Jim Bob Cooter in the end? Feels like a Dukes of Hazzard episode. In hindsight, that show didn't age well. Then it's the Sixers who are giving off "maybe we're friends MAYBE we're more than that" energy and it's hard to know where we stand. Big win in OT last night and JoJo nets a trip dub. Let's see if "sustainable" is in the cards.Lastly, the Flyers GOTTA get it together. Lost the last one after being up 3-0 in the second. WTF. As the trade deadline approaches, let's think defensemen and a #2 goalie. Yup, we got goalie problems again.Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod
The 94 WIP Midday Show are discussing a potential trade that has circulated the NBA involving sending V.J. Edgecombe to the Bucks in exchange for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The guys are in agreement that they would not get rid of Edgecombe saying that he is exciting and it is worth seeing what the Sixers have in him. It would also ruin the great relationship that Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey have built.
In hour 2, the 94 WIP Midday Show react to a huge Sixers win against the Rockets last night. They have been impressive this season thanks to the immediate impact of rookie V.J. Edgecombe. Joel Embiid has also looked very good and it is making fans excited. Hugh Douglas says that people should start paying more attention to them. Part of the reason why this season has been fun for fans is because the expectations were low. The guys would not trade V.J. Edgecombe for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Listen for the reaction as Jalen Hurts did not make the top 100 NFL players list for the 2025 regular season
Today's 94 WIP Midday Show discussed the current state of the Eagles offensive coordinator search and asked if Jalen Hurts should have any sort of say in who the team hires. The Eagles completed an interview of Bobby Slowik on Friday. The Sixers won an exciting game on Thursday against the Rockets and are really starting to gain fan momentum. The Broncos and Patriots are trash talking before the AFC Championship Game. Jack Fritz joins the show for a wellness check. This week's Guess the Takes segment involves an NFC QB and the NFL's parity problem. Listen at the end for the guys to react to the YouTube live stream comments during the You People segment.
Send us a textThe guys recap a last-minute Sixers game on MLK Day, what you actually notice sitting close to the court, and the reality of Joel Embiid's game and health at this stage of his career. It turns into a broader conversation about Philly sports memories, growing up at games, and how expectations change when stars get older. From there, the episode drifts into music, legacy, and listening deeper — touching on Ben Folds, Bobby Weir, the Grateful Dead, and what great musicianship sounds like when it's subtle, patient, and intentional. A laid-back conversation about sports, art, and appreciating the details you don't catch at first glance.Support the showGet your Gear here: htpodcast.myshopify.com

They crushed the lowly Nets, but the Sixers are next. What's ahead for this supposed NBA Finals team?
The Philadelphia Eagles season was nothing short of a disappointment. The biggest disappointment? The offense and how it was run. The poor rushing attack. The poor run blocking. The poor play design. All of it wasn't the brand of football Eagles fans have become used to. This week, friend of the pod, Ed Kracz from Eagles Today at S.I., joined the show for a deep dive into what we saw with this Eagles offense as they dissected the details. It was a fantastic conversation! But first, the guys discussed J.T. Realmuto's new contract with the Phillies, what it means for the team moving forward and how this offseason has looked. (Approx. 4:00)From there, they got into a discussion about whether or not Major League Baseball will now need to institute a salary cap after the Dodgers signed Kyle Tucker to a massive contract. (Approx. 12:30)Then they dove into Sixers young prospect Jared McCain, his short tenure with the organization and if his talent has fizzled. (Approx. 21:25)What they threw down on the Table this week was a great and in-depth conversation with Ed Kracz from Eagles Today at S.I. about what we saw from the Eagles offense all season. Why weren't changes made to the most predictable offense in the league week after week? Was there more going on with the offensive line than just injures? Who should be the Eagles next offensive coordinator? All of this and much more this week on the Table!
