Send us a textDo you remember New Jack City starring Wesley Snipes, Ice-T, Mario Van Peebles, and Judd Nelson? We sure do and we remember loving it. This movie made us want to be Ice-T and Wesley Snipes simultaneously. But we haven't seen it since the 90s and have been wrong before. We'll be honest, if this movie isn't as good as we remember, we are going to be more than just disappointed. Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Vampire in Brooklyn is a 1995 American vampire black comedy film directed by Wes Craven. It stars Eddie Murphy, who produced and wrote with his brothers Vernon Lynch and Charles Q. Murphy. The film co-stars Angela Bassett, Allen Payne, Kadeem Hardison, John Witherspoon, Zakes Mokae, and Joanna Cassidy. Murphy also plays an alcoholic preacher, Pauly, and a foul-mouthed Italian-American mobster, Guido, respectively. Vampire in Brooklyn was the final film produced under Eddie Murphy's exclusive contract with Paramount Pictures, which began with 48 Hrs. (1982) and included the Beverly Hills Cop franchise (1984–1994). Vampire in Brooklyn was released theatrically in the United States on October 27, 1995. It received mostly negative reviews from critics and failed to meet the studio's expectations, as it was unsuccessful at the box office. Despite this, Vampire In Brooklyn has become regarded as a cult classic and has been subject to critical re-evaluation, especially towards Craven's direction, Murphy and Bassett's performances and chemistry and the humor. Ever wonder what West Side Story would be like if you took out all the songs, dancing, drama, and replaced it with fake combat dancing and crack? Well, you get 1989's extremely confusing film, Rooftops. Actually directed by West Side Story's Robert Wise and completely wasting Tisha Campbell and Allen Payne, this one was a real head scratcher. Jordan and Cam talk the bait and switch of the trailer, the absurd "dance combat", and Lobo's press on nails. Also, one of the wildest stories of Caucacity in 2023. We're still out here on Twitter until it implodes at @white_pod . Follow us there and we'll see you in two weeks for maybe the wildest movie we've covered yet, 1964's Black Like Me.

Another Thursday, another amazing Scene In Fifteen coming at you. Don't SLEEP on this week's flick, cause it might be a KEEPer. See what I did there? Yeah, ok, well Nashon has described Allen Payne as "delicious" and apparently, the show agreed! A few button pushes and here we are at hood classic, Jason's Lyric. An early offering from '94 boasting the likes of Forrest Whitaker, in a compelling tale of love and lost. I know what you're thinking, blah blah blah blah, WHAT DID YOU GIVE IT? Only one way to know. Was the draw of a young Jada Pinkett enough to pull off a KEEP IT? Is it comedian the toughness of Bokeem Woodbine that makes you want to nap? You're used to it, so why fix it if it ain't broken? Here you are folks, Nashon's DELICIOUS new episode, of Scene In Fifteen!

Ya girls got fancy and decided to have a night out at the theatre! We saw the critically acclaimed stage play "New Jack City" (and by "critically acclaimed," we mean - Ice T, costar of the original film, claimed to enjoy it). This live version of the classic 1991 film featured many a 90s star, including Treach, Gary Dourdan, Flex Alexander, Big Daddy Kane, and Allen Payne, who reprised his role as Gee Money. Claudette Ortiz from City High was also a pleasant surprise in the cast! If you got money to burn and are feeling nostalgic, "New Jack City" is still touring across the US and quite possibly, coming to a city near you! And if you're feeling nostalgic but wanna save $65-200 bucks, the movie is streaming on Tubi for free :)

JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey are here to preview Washington's second tilt with the Eagles this year and are very intrigued to see how Ron Rivera's team handles this particular matchup. Will they show up with pride or will they roll over and close out FedEx Field with a whimper? That's something they kick around before discussing what next year's QB room could look like and why Terry McLaurin isn't getting targeted more. From there, they run through their pregame segments and then toss to a really fun interview between JP and Tim Settle, where the defensive lineman explains how he's been able to stay positive despite his limited playing time, passes along a first-person account of the Allen/Payne fight and reacts to his alma mater getting beaten down in their recent bowl game. Also, JP's recent 1-on-1 with Ron Rivera is tacked on at the end, too. NEW JACK CITY (1991) raised the stakes for gangster films and put a spotlight on the rise of crack in inner cities. Cutting edge and concise, this film is a fast-paced crime thriller that is still relevant almost 30 years after its release. ▶️ (02:07) When a high-time crime lord rises to power and introduces crack to the surrounding city, a few rouge cops vow to take down the gangster-led drug ring destroying their community. Discussions include: The real-life inspiration behind NEW JACK CITY, how a first-time director, authentic actors and crisp storytelling came together for a truly larger-than-life movie, the film’s strong attitude towards drugs and gang life, resulting in an awareness of a powerful moral voice. Breakout roles for the cast will be discussed, as well as a NEW JACK CITY comparison to SCARFACE (1983) — breaking down the main characters, drug usage and the music in both films. *Starring Wesley Snipes, Allen Payne, Ice-T, Chris Rock, Mario Van Peebles, Judd Nelson, Bill Cobbs. Directed by Marco Brambilla.* Justin’s Pick — BAADASSSSS! (2003): In this behind-the-scenes, unapologetic, brash docudrama, Mario Van Peebles portrays his father, Melvin Van Peebles, during the fascinating and challenging production of his father’s film, SWEET SWEETBACK’S BAADASSSSS SONG (1971). *Starring: Mario Van Peebles, David Alan Grier Nia Long, Rainn Wilson, Terry Crews. Directed by: Mario Van Peebles.* ▶️ (53:12) MURRAYMOMENT: One difficult period in Billy’s life was the death of his friend, John Belushi.
