I denne ombæring af Rockhistorier havde vi sanger og sangskriveren Christian Hjelm i gæstestolen. Det var både skægt, underholdende og illuminerende, for han valgte at bruge lejligheden til at fortælle om sin musikalske rejse fra han som 4-årig forelskede sig i temaet til ’Bamses Billedbog’ til hans musikalske odyssé kulminerede med Prodigys elektroniske punk i de sene 1990ere, hvor han selv gjorde sin entre på musikscenen. Men i stedet for at have ham som gæst i studiet, drog Rockhistorier til i det mørke Jylland, for at møde Hjelm på Engelsholm Højskole, hvor han også underviser. Så Rockhistorier blev i denne omgang optaget foran et levende, corona-testet, entusiastisk og ungt publikum, hvad der var spændende, for det gav forløbet en helt anden nerve og dynamik.Lige nu er Hjelm aktuel med kollektivet 'Nymalet', som består af syv koryfæer fra den danske musikscene – heriblandt Katinka og Johan Olsen – der netop har udsendt sin debutsingle. Han blev oprindelig kendt som sanger og guitarist i trioen Figurines, der i nullerne udsendte fire album, heriblandt hovedværket 'When the Deer Wore Blue' (2007). I 2012 debuterede han som solist med 'Før Vi Blev Lette', efterfulgt i 2014 af 'Vaskeægte' og i 2018 kom 'Uskolet Magi'. Skólahreystin hefst að nýju í dag, en þessi hreystikeppni grunnskólanna hefur notið mikilla vinsælda, ekki bara meðal grunnskólabarna heldur þjóðarinnar allrar sem fylgist spennt með í sjónvarpinu. Andrés Guðmundsson stofnandi Skólahreysti var á línunni og spjallaði svolítið um Skólahreystina og áhrif hennar. Hælisleiteitendur og No border samtökin hafa að undanförnu mótmælt við Austurvöll. Ekki eru allir sáttir við mótmælin, framgöngu mótmælenda og umgengni þeirra á Austurvelli og við styttuna af Jóni Sigurðssyni. Þessi gagnrýni rataði inn í sali alþingis þegar Ólafur Ísleifsson, þingmaður Miðflokksins tók þetta upp og ganrýndi einnig kostnað við hælisleitendur. Rob talks about getting great acoustic guitar sounds for Elliot Smith, recording Beck Loser, and much more! My guest today is Rob Schnapf, a producer making critically-acclaimed records for the past two decades. He first gained recognition by producing (with his then-partner Tom Rothrock) Beck's debut album, "Mellow Gold," including the breakthrough single, "Loser." Rob and Tom produced three albums for Elliot Smith, including "XO" and "Figure 8." Rob went on to produce albums for Guided by Voices, Saves The Day, The Vines, Powderfinger, The Whigs and Tokyo Police Club. In 2009 he produced Booker T Jones' "Potato Hole," which won a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album.
