This week, we're scratching The Itch to party! KC's birthday week was stacked with shows featuring podcast guests, and The Itch got to see plenty of them! First, KC and Aaron catch Boston Manor at the Subterranean in Chicago on their first ever US headline tour, with a diverse supporting trio of Farmer's Wife, Spaced, and Ellis. Then they swing over to the Bottom Lounge to see Ocean Grove supporting Thornhill with Avoid and Banks Arcade. Aaron somehow manages to turn two shows into one on the same night, creating a lineup where Hot Milk and Savage Hands ultimately open for Pop Evil. And finally, KC and Dan catch Gore. at Delmar Hall in St. Louis as they support Of Mice & Men and Until I Wake. It was a lot. And it was awesome. Enjoy. If you like what you hear, you can hear more of us every Sunday night broadcasting rock to the masses from 6-9pm CST on KCLC-FM. If you're not in the St. Louis area, you can stream the show from 891thewood.com, TuneIn, Radio.net, and OnlineRadioBox! This week, we're scratching The Itch for honesty! Han Mee and Jim Shaw of Hot Milk join us for a refreshingly candid conversation about their new album Corporation P.O.P (out June 27th) and the ideas surrounding it, including shedding an ill-fitting "pop punk" tag, writing quickly to capture the moment, English identity, and American insanity. Plus, a dodgy opening scene, an Anchorman joke, and Dan's family responsibilities strike again. This is a good one. Enjoy. From breaking bones to trudging through snow – it is a Foley artist's role to reproduce the everyday sound effects that are added to film, TV and games. By using a variety of unconventional props and their own bodies, the goal is to create an authentic soundscape that will enhance our auditory experience. If the Foley goes unnoticed then they've done their job well! Datshiane Navanayagam speaks to two award winning Foley artists and asks what it's like to spend so much time, quite literally stepping into someone else's shoes. Caoimhe Doyle has over 25 years' experience creating Foley sound effects and footsteps for film, television and video games. She's been nominated three times for the MPSE Golden Reel Award for her work on Colm Bairéad's An Cailín Ciúin (The Quiet Girl), The Favourite, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises. In 2011 she won a MPSE Golden Reel Award and was nominated for an Emmy for her work on Game of Thrones: Season 1 and is a current MPSE nominee for work on Rich Peppiatt's Kneecap. Caoimhe collaborates with an all-female team out of The Foley Lab in a quiet part of County Wicklow in Ireland.Marita Sbeih is a Lebanese Foley artist and one of only a handful working in the Middle East. Since 2018, she has been the dedicated Foley Artist at DB Studios in Beirut, which provides audio post-production for films, documentaries, and art productions from around the globe. Pursuing a career as a Foley artist in a country with many unique challenges has been far from easy, but Marita has built an impressive list of credits for Foley and footsteps in some of the Arab world's more distinguished art-house and indie productions, as well as international projects. Most recently, she worked on Hot Milk, a UK film directed by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, which was selected for the official competition at the 75th Berlinale (2025).Produced by Hannah Dean (Image: (L) Caoimhe Doyle courtesy Caoimhe Doyle. Gëschter (6.3.) war d'Ouverture vum LuxFilmFest - dëst Joer mat engem Ouvertures-Film, an deem d'Vicky Krieps matspillt an deen och op der Berlinale am Wettbewerb gelaf ass. “Hot Milk” vun der Rebecca Lenkiewicz ass eng Verfilmung vum Roman vun der Déborah Lévy - a verhandelt ënner anerem eng toxesch Relatioun tëschent enger Mamm an hirer Duechter. Dernieft ass haut um Freideg deen éischte Film am Dokumentarconcours ugelaf – “A Fidai Film” vum Kamal Aljafari erzielt op eng experimentell, wéineg narrativ Manéier d'Geschicht vum palästinensesche Vollek mat Hëllef vun Archivbiller, Prosa vum Auteur Ghassan Kanafani an der “Kamera vun den Depossedéierten”. De Michel Delage, d'Valerija Berdi an de Jeff Schinker hu sech déi zwee Filmer ugekuckt.

Welcome to the Horror Show. Mischievous emo kids, turned troublemaking power duo, Hot Milk, are our guests on Episode 249 of Sappenin' Podcast! Hannah Mee and Jim Shaw return to celebrate the release of their debut album 'A Call To The Void', reaching dream milestones and even more uncontrollable, naughty but nice, madness. In this conversation, we discuss the bands sense of self worth, always being their unapologetic selves, scaring the likes of Mark Hoppus, Dave Grohl and Lars Ulrich, oversharing reactions, allergy tests, the headache of key changes, swivel chair lyrics, wanting to produce other artists, pushing music boundaries, underwater UFO conspiracies, passionate soup hatred, ageing genitalia, ketamine dreams, a surprise puppet and more! We begin this episode talking about ghosts, because of course we do. We also chat about E3's influence and our relationship with it as both fans and games journalists, but honestly that bit isn't nearly exciting as when we're chatting about spooky things that have happened to us. We eventually remember what this podcast is actually about, quickly moving on to chat about our favourite games from this year's endless parade of Not-E3 showcases. Kicking us off, Rebecca can't wait to open her own portable second-hand bookshop in the brilliant looking Tiny Bookshop. She's also keen to get her hands on Still Wakes The Deep, an enigmatic horror game set aboard an oil rig off the coast of Scotland. Rachel on the other hand can't wait to play more of En Garde!, but she's also been enjoying clambering up cliff faces in Jusant and is intrigued by recursive puzzler Cocoon (which our Ed also reckons is good). True to form, Liam is excited for anti-capitalist cat game Revenant Hill, the gorgeous Sword Of The Sea and the quiet, rural vibes of Kibu. Seeing as its pride month (happy pride month!) section two is all about our picks from Itch's generous Queer Games Bundle. As always we wrap things up with our hyperfixations. Rachel has run out of things to watch, and insists you all give her recommendations by sending an email to podcast@rockpapershotgun.com. Rebecca has been reading Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli and Liam has been reading Hot Milk by Deborah Levy. Indiescovery is a podcast from RockPaperShotgun.com. All music is by Dylan Sitts; the songs are Tahoe Trip, Pool Sticker, and Express Check-in. Thanks for listening! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
You may have noticed a distinct lack of social media stuff and episodes being put out in the last few months. I got quite sick during almost the whole of March and into May after working hard professionally as well as on the High Frequency EP and the shows to support its release. I'd like to thank Ant and Corky for coming on the last episode to talk about the history of our band and the recording of our new EP ‘Some Songs You May Have Heard… But Not Like This!' which I hope you've listened to and enjoyed. I'd also like to thank the handful of listeners who checked in on me while I was away, I really appreciate it. I'm OK now and looking forward to getting back to work on the podcast. On this episode I cover the news from the last four months which concerns The Sisters of Mercy, The Mad Caddies, Moby, U.K. Subs, Yellowcard, Peter Murphy of Bauhaus, Danzig, Weezer, BGH, Blink-182, Less Than Jake, The Cure, Amyl And The Sniffers, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Circle Jerks, Public Image Limited, vinyl sales, The Misfits, Devo, Doom Generator, Descendents, Adolescents, Dead Kennedys, Lektron, Flogging Molly, X, Siouxie Sioux, Crass, Alice Cooper, Social Distortion, Laura Jane Grace, The Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame, The Distillers, Sum 41, Rancid, The Hives, Dropkick Murphys, Stiff Little Fingers and Steve Jones, The Toy Dolls, Foo Fighters, Bowling For Soup, Lagwagon. Single reviews include Bone Church by Slipknot, Over by Chvrches, 'Til The Anarchy's Restored by Flogging Molly, Raid by Doom Generator, Set Fazers, If I Could and L.O.V.E.
