In this episode, the coach had a chance to sit down with with Coach Tom of Nor Cal Dynasty and Coach Mel of HUI(formerly Hawaii Heat).  Coach Tom has been a huge part of the Northern California and Sacramento/Rocklin area coaching scene with over 16 years in the game.  Tom currently has one of the strongest independent girls programs in the area and is always doing something to push for the kids and basketball community. Whether its video's with Driffty Jay, open runs for everyone with media, or simply sitting and having conversations with his kids Coach Tom passion for the AAU space has been felt by everyone. Coach Tom was also a former YBA coach as well starting with Ken Geee the founder and coaching the first 9th grade DAWGS yba team. Coach Mel has been an official, director and coach and has no plans of stopping. Also he has a very notable YouTube channel and over 65K followers on instagram making funny videos and content. Coach Mel is originally from Hawaii and is a man of the people. He always shows respect to those who do the same and his son is stepping into his senior year at Rocklin high where he is hoping to go after a state title. The 2-0 SDSU Aztecs finish their 3 game homestand to start the 2023 season with the UCLA Bruins. Four years ago SDSU history was made when they defeated UCLA for the first time in program history. Today, Coach-C details for us how SDSU can turn that one time occurance into a two-game win streak over the Bruins.

The Aztecs are 1-0 after beating Ohio. But the game left a lot to improve upon if they are to make this season a success. Walker joins Fullerton after he completed his eighth season as an assistant coach with the Sacramento State Hornets in 2020-21. He spent the two prior years (2011-13) as the team's director of operations. "Chris brings a great deal of experience and a unique ability to build relationships with our guys," Taylor said. "He has played and worked for some great teachers who have been very successful coaches of the game. I'm excited to work with him and witness his impact on our program as he helps us work towards a Big West Championship."

Today's special guest, Author, and Coach C.K. (Kelly) Collins has felt that way too! And she wants to share with you what she learned and the processes she built to take the next step. Once women have raised their families and hit an apex in their career, they frequently begin to seek for more meaning in life. Kelly believes we are meant to do this and that everything we experienced in life thus far leads us to this incredible moment of wonder. When she was feeling that way, she wrote a book about her five-year journey back to empowerment, joy, happiness and love after a traumatic divorce from her 31-year marriage. She is continually sharing her ongoing journey to wholeness through storytelling and share the lessons she learned from her friends all over the world. In gratitude and recognition of the gifts of love she received and believing that travel feeds the soul and grows the heart and mind, She made a decision to completely change her life. She sold her house. She gave away everything. And then she embarked on a two-year travel sabbatical which so far has included trips to Utah, Grand Canyon in Arizona, Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Portugal, Spain, Italy and a 30-day sailing rally from Los Angeles to La Paz, Mexico.  Her inner healing was a grassroots effort, surrounded by supportive friends and family, who held her hand, shared her pain and hugged her through a lot of tough moments. In this episode, we have guest Matt Johnson the head Varsity coach of Sacramento High School and former Division 1 player.  Matt has revitalized Sac High basketball and in his first year as varsity coach has shut down any doubts of his ability to coach. Coach Johnson was not only a student-athlete at Sac high, winning multiple section titles but as his first year as head coach he won a section title which is a rare thing to happen in high school sports.  Coach Johnson opens up about his personal life and growth from young athlete to family man and father. This week, We're joined by Coach C White from Bentley University, a Division II program that's has a history of success including a National Championship in 2014. She's been part of the program as a player and coach for over 20 years and has recently taken over won their conference tournament championship last season. In this episode we talk about leading all aspects of a program including creating adversity, developing point guards, and sustaining and building a championship culture.
