Myles Kennedy Interview | The Brett Allan Show | The Art of Letting Go Alterbridge and Slash As a prolific songwriter, powerhouse vocalist, and skilled guitar player, Myles Kennedy tunes into the rhythm of his surroundings and goes with the flow. Fronting Alter Bridge, his soaring vocals, open-hearted lyrics, and airtight riffs have fueled the group's global impact as a critically acclaimed, arena-filling force of nature over two decades-plus. On the microphone for Slash and The Conspirators, his towering range and magnetic stage presence has consistently stunned audiences since 2010. Becoming a celebrated collaborator, he's the rare presence just as comfortable on a track with Disturbed, Halestorm, and Sevendust as he is with Gov't Mule and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. It's why he's generated over 1 billion cumulative streams, earned gold and platinum certifications worldwide, uplifted countless fans, and KERRANG! christened him “one of rock's finest vocalists.” It's also why he's carved out his own lane. With two solo efforts under his belt and sold-out headline tours in the rearview, a sense of keenly honed intuition guides his third full-length LP, The Art of Letting Go [Napalm Records]. “I've been going through a massive Bruce Lee kick, no pun intended,” he smiles. “His quote, ‘Be water, my friend', always stuck with me. On a grander scale, it represents the record. It's an exercise in removing prior restrictions and shattering the parameters I set up for myself as a solo artist. This is a rock record. In the past, I thought rock might be a little too close to the other projects. Instead, I just let go and embraced my essence as a singer, guitar player, and writer. This is who I am. This is my DNA. Instead of being apologetic and shying away from it, I'm letting go and being myself.” Connect with us on our website for more amazing conversations! www.brettallanshow.com Have you got some feedback? "The Morrison Project" The London-born guitarist and singer/songwriter Billy Morrison has two main components to his life and for the purposes of this introduction, I'm going to tell you about the musical one. The other one I'll let him tell you about because he'll tell it far better than I can. So: the musical one. After playing in bands like Into A Circle and Stimulator, Morrison was recruited to play bass with The Cult for their opening slot with Aerosmith in the U.S., Japan and Europe. After his stint with The Cult, Morrison formed Camp Freddy with Dave Navarro, Donovan Leitch, Scott Ford and The Cult's Matt Sorum. You'll find the through-line in Morrison's life has a lot to do with The Cult. In 2006 Morrison teamed up with Fuel's Brett Scallions, Ricky Warwick of The Almighty, Slunt's Charles Ruggiero, Korn's Rob Patterson and, you guessed it, The Cult's Billy Duffy for the band Circus Diablo. In 2010 he joined Billy Idol's band and he's been with him ever since, playing stadium shows across the world. Camp Freddy morphed into Royal Machines adding Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray and Josh Freese to the lineup. Morrison's new album is called The Morrison Project and it's got a murderer's row of guests including Al Jourgensen of Ministry, Steve Stevens, Darryl DMC McDaniels of Run DMC, Ozzy Osbourne and Corey Taylor of Slipknot, among others. The album is a big crunchy blast of hard rock bliss with careening guitar riffs and hooks galore. It's not only one of the most satisfying and energizing albums of the year, it's landed Morrison his first number one. Well-deserved. Morrison has acted in movies, become a notable art collector and artist and he co-hosts a show with Ozzy on Sirius. Busy fellow. Billy is the real deal and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. www.billymorrison.com (http://www.billymorrison.com) www.bombshellradio.com www.stereoembersmagazine.com www.alexgreenbooks.com Twitter: @emberseditor IG: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark a sorti un nouveau single, "Kleptocracy". Today we are joined by director Rick Korn to discuss his documentary film A FATHER'S PROMISE The film, produced by Sheryl Crow, tells the story of professional musician Mark Barden whose life changed instantly when his son Daniel was murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary. After the loss of his son, Mark lost all interest in music and vowed to do everything in his power to help prevent gun violence so that no one else must go through what he and his family went through. The film follows Mark as he turned his tragedy into activism and in doing so rediscovered his lost passion for music. The documentary features performances and interviews from Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town, Darryl DMC McDaniels, Bernie Williams, and more, as well as music by John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Steve Winwood, David Shaw (The Revivalists), and others. Ultimately, this documentary was another way for Barden to connect and heal through music, as well as to honor Daniel's life and memory. A FATHERS PROMISE world premiere and North American theatrical run begins on December 8th in New York City. Welcome to Dem Vinyl Boyz, a space where the essence of hip-hop comes alive through the crackling sound of vinyl records. Today, we embark on a sonic adventure by immersing ourselves in the iconic album "Raising Hell" by the legendary rap group, Run DMC. Strap on your headphones, adjust the volume just right, and let's transport ourselves to a time when the urban streets reverberated with the raw energy of these hip-hop pioneers. "Raising Hell," released in 1986, marked a pivotal moment in the history of hip-hop. It shattered barriers, redefined the genre, and brought rap music into the mainstream consciousness. As the third studio album from Run DMC, it stands as a testament to their unparalleled talent, sharp lyricism, and innovative musical approach. This album became a game-changer by infusing rock elements into the rap genre, incorporating electrifying guitar riffs and heavy drum beats that blended seamlessly with the group's lyrical prowess. The opening track, "Peter Piper," sets the tone with its infectious beat and Run DMC's trademark rapid-fire delivery, leaving no doubt that they were here to revolutionize the rap scene. Throughout "Raising Hell," the lyrical genius of Run DMC's members—Joseph "Run" Simmons, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, and the late Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell—shines bright. Run's commanding presence, DMC's deep, resonant voice, and Jay's impeccable turntable skills combine to create an unstoppable force. Their verses tackle themes of social commentary, personal struggles, and the unapologetic celebration of their urban roots. One of the album's most iconic tracks, "Walk This Way," became a genre-defying collaboration with rock legends Aerosmith. Run DMC's reimagination of this classic rock anthem introduced hip-hop to a wider audience, bridging the gap between two seemingly disparate worlds. The fusion of Aerosmith's guitar riffs and the infectious rhythm of Run DMC's delivery transformed the music landscape forever. As we continue our vinyl journey, tracks like "My Adidas" and "It's Tricky" resonate with a rebellious spirit, embodying the essence of Run DMC's influential impact on pop culture. These songs, with their infectious hooks and captivating wordplay, inspire head-nods, foot taps, and a genuine appreciation for the artistry and innovation that the group brought to the table. Run DMC's chemistry as a collective is palpable throughout the album, elevating "Raising Hell" to legendary status. Their distinctive voices complement each other flawlessly, creating an unparalleled sonic experience. The album's production, courtesy of Rick Rubin, captures the raw energy and authenticity of their performances, painting a vivid sonic landscape that immerses listeners in the streets of New York City, where hip-hop was born. "Raising Hell" represents a seminal moment not just for Run DMC but for the entire hip-hop genre. It solidified their status as trailblazers, paving the way for future generations of artists to embrace the power of rap and push the boundaries of what was considered possible. Today, as we spin the vinyl and absorb the revolutionary sounds of "Raising Hell," we pay homage to the timeless artistry and indelible legacy of Run DMC. So sit back, let the needle find its groove, and allow yourself to be transported to a bygone era where hip-hop roared through the streets, courtesy of the vinyl magic conjured by the vinyl boyz. Dem Vinyl Boyz invites you to experience the sheer brilliance of Run DMC's "Raising Hell" like never before. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

After his band Evolution Empire's set at the Grammercy Theatre in New York City, J-Bunny has a conversation with drummer Rob Youells. They discuss how he came to join the band Generation Kill, the band's project with Darryl "DMC" McDaniels called Fragile Mortals, and also discuss a bit about the band The Pain Method, which featured 3 current and former members of Generation Kill in its lineup. We also discuss how Evolution Empire came about, how the band's tour with (hed) PE, Drowning Pool, and Ill Nino has been, and discover that Rob was in the band Dirt Church, which J-Bunny had seen in the NJ scene a few times back in the early 2000s. Rob also talks about his time as an actor and bodybuilder, and makes some recommendations of ways to stay in shape. Podcast intro "Rock Intro 3" courtesy of audionautix.com.
