What good is financial wealth if you don't have the health to enjoy it? That's the question at the center of my eye-opening conversation with Lisa Brooking, CEO of Healthcode Medical. With her background as a critical care nurse and elite marathon runner, Lisa is transforming how we think about health—from reactive “sick care” to proactive wellness optimization.Lisa shares how traditional medicine often waits for symptoms to appear before acting, missing the chance to prevent disease altogether. At Healthcode Medical, her team treats health as a vital asset class, applying strategies similar to wealth management: early detection, ongoing monitoring, and personalized planning.Their cutting-edge diagnostics—from advanced brain scans to specialized MRIs—create a deep baseline to catch issues early and optimize wellness. Lisa's most powerful insight? That poor health quietly restricts your freedom—limiting travel, activity, and quality of life. True luxury, she argues, isn't material—it's the vibrant health to fully enjoy your life. This philosophy mirrors my own approach to managing wealth: be proactive, informed, and intentional. Healthcode's efficient, boutique two-day assessment equips clients with actionable insights and continuous support for sustainable change.Want to invest in your greatest asset—your health? Connect with Lisa and her team at Healthcode to see how strategic health planning can transform your future.About Our GuestCEO of Healthcode Medical, Lisa is a dynamic and engaging health care leader with a proven track record in both the private and public sectors. Lisa holds a deep understanding of the health care sector rooted in a progressive career starting as a critical care nurse. She is passionate about high quality person-centred care and her commitment to prioritize the well-being of patients. She received the 2015 Young Women of the Year Award from the Orillia Business Women's Association, later renamed in her honor to the Lisa Brooking Young Women of the Year Award, which is presented annually.Lisa is also a world-ranked distance runner with numerous podium finishes. We uncover the myths that keep most people from building true wealth and explore why cashflow and control are the ultimate financial goals.• The wealthy utilize money actively rather than just accumulating it• Most Americans don't realize they're paying 2-3% in hidden 401(k) fees that devastate returns• Tax diversification is critical with tax-free buckets ideally being your largest asset pool• Premium-financed life insurance offers tax-free growth with market upside protection• Wealthy investors prioritize avoiding losses over chasing high returns• Understanding your unique "Way to Wealth DNA" helps align investments with your values and skills• The dangerous math of investment losses: a 25% drop requires a 50% gain to recover• Control comes from investing in things you understand rather than anonymous market fundsGet Stephanie's free book "Shattering Money Myths" at erbewealth.com and learn more about approaching wealth like the affluent do.About Our GuestOver years of working with her investors, Stephanie discovered that the very wealthy view and use money differently than the rest of us; they actively have their money working for them -- sometimes at several places at the same time! Stephanie realized these strategies can be used by anyone, not just the rich. Her passion is teaching people to “unlearn” what most of us have been wired to think about money and re-educating people on attaining wealth that can be passed onto the next generation.Stephanie Walters, CEO of Erbe Wealth3705 Kipling Street, Suite 203 Wheat Ridge, CO 80033303-995-0928LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephanie-walter-057594196/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/erbewealthHear Past episodes of the Way2Wealth Podcast!https://theway2wealth.com Learn more about our Host, Scott Ford, Managing Director, Partner & Wealth Advisorhttps://www.carsonwealth.com/team-members/scott-ford/ Investment advisory services offered through CWM LLC, an SEC-registered investment advisor. "The Morrison Project" The London-born guitarist and singer/songwriter Billy Morrison has two main components to his life and for the purposes of this introduction, I'm going to tell you about the musical one. The other one I'll let him tell you about because he'll tell it far better than I can. So: the musical one. After playing in bands like Into A Circle and Stimulator, Morrison was recruited to play bass with The Cult for their opening slot with Aerosmith in the U.S., Japan and Europe. After his stint with The Cult, Morrison formed Camp Freddy with Dave Navarro, Donovan Leitch, Scott Ford and The Cult's Matt Sorum. You'll find the through-line in Morrison's life has a lot to do with The Cult. In 2006 Morrison teamed up with Fuel's Brett Scallions, Ricky Warwick of The Almighty, Slunt's Charles Ruggiero, Korn's Rob Patterson and, you guessed it, The Cult's Billy Duffy for the band Circus Diablo. In 2010 he joined Billy Idol's band and he's been with him ever since, playing stadium shows across the world. Camp Freddy morphed into Royal Machines adding Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray and Josh Freese to the lineup. Morrison's new album is called The Morrison Project and it's got a murderer's row of guests including Al Jourgensen of Ministry, Steve Stevens, Darryl DMC McDaniels of Run DMC, Ozzy Osbourne and Corey Taylor of Slipknot, among others. The album is a big crunchy blast of hard rock bliss with careening guitar riffs and hooks galore. It's not only one of the most satisfying and energizing albums of the year, it's landed Morrison his first number one. Well-deserved. Morrison has acted in movies, become a notable art collector and artist and he co-hosts a show with Ozzy on Sirius. Busy fellow. Billy is the real deal and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. www.billymorrison.com (http://www.billymorrison.com) www.bombshellradio.com www.stereoembersmagazine.com www.alexgreenbooks.com Twitter: @emberseditor IG: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

Welcome to season 5 of the award-winning .NET Core Podcast! Check that link for proof. Hello everyone and welcome to THE .NET Core Podcast. An award-winning podcast where we reach into the core of the .NET technology stack and, with the help of the .NET community, present you with the information that you need in order to grok the many moving parts of one of the biggest cross-platform, multi-application frameworks on the planet. Software maintenance is an integral part of any software development project, but it can often be neglected, leading to a range of problems down the line. M. Scott Ford, the co-founder, chief code whisperer, and CTO of CorgyBytes, is passionate about helping teams make improvements to their existing software systems rather than throwing them away and starting from scratch. In this episode of The .NET Core Podcast, Ford and Jamie discussed the challenges of maintaining software and some of the tools they use to make it easier. One of the tools they discussed was Freshli, a tool that visualizes tech debt and shows how difficult a codebase is to work with. It tracks the age of dependencies and can help identify potential risks before they become major problems. They also discussed the Equifax hack from 2017, which was caused by a single outdated dependency. This highlights the importance of keeping dependencies up to date and the potential risks of neglecting them. The conversation also touched on the need for more spaces for developers to meet up and exchange ideas and feedback. Ford and Taylor believe that the real nuggets of information are shared in the conversations that happen between talks or at the pub afterwards, and that these sessions allow people to do that organically. One key takeaway from the discussion was the idea of making small, incremental improvements to a project rather than trying to fix everything at once. This approach is similar to a sports team focusing on individual attributes to improve overall performance. It can be more manageable and less overwhelming for a team to make small changes rather than trying to tackle everything at once. The podcast also highlighted the challenge of dependencies becoming out of date and the importance of tracking and updating them regularly to reduce risk. Ford and Taylor discussed the use of dependency freshness metrics, specifically the libyear metric, to track the age of dependencies and how it changes over time. This metric can be used to communicate the level of risk a development team is carrying to leadership. Overall, the conversation in this episode sheds light on the importance of software maintenance and the tools available to make it easier. Outdated dependencies in software projects can have a significant impact on productivity and security, but it is often an invisible problem that goes unnoticed by leadership. By implementing tools like Freshli and tracking the age of dependencies, teams can reduce the potential risks and make software maintenance more manageable.
