Ator do sucesso da Netflix fala sobre sua trajetória e os desafios de representar a periferia no audiovisual “A gente tem que construir um novo jeito de pensar pessoas periféricas dentro do audiovisual", diz Christian Malheiros. “O cinema nacional tira a alma desses personagens, os torna pessoas sem empatia. É muito cruel, cretino. Meu trabalho vai na contramão. O meu personagem sente, tem medo, tem dois filhos. Não é e não pode ser um psicopata. O que fez ele chegar nessa situação?”. Com a chegada da quinta e última temporada da série "Sintonia", o ator que interpreta o Nando trocou uma ideia com o Trip FM sobre a responsabilidade e o significado de dar vida a personagens periféricos. “É fácil me taxarem como preto, favelado e sempre cair nessa caixinha. Não tenho problema em fazer outro bandido, são histórias que precisam ser contadas no cinema. Mas só tem isso pra mim? Por fazer personagens periféricos, as pessoas acham que é o que eu sou. Sou isso e muitas outras coisas", diz. “É uma linha tênue. Por eu ter perdido amigos e primos para o crime, me dá uma consciência do que estou retratando, de qual é esse sentimento, essa dor. Eu tenho uma responsabilidade social de retratar isso de forma digna.” Desde sua estreia no aclamado "Sócrates" (2019) — que lhe rendeu o prêmio APCA de melhor ator — até o estrondoso sucesso em "Sintonia", Malheiros se consolidou como um dos grandes nomes da nova geração de atores brasileiros. A produção, que em 2023 alcançou o topo do ranking global de séries de língua não inglesa mais assistidas da Netflix, chamou atenção pela Num papo com Paulo Lima, o ator também falou sobre sua própria história, sua família e como sua infância influenciou a forma como enxerga o mundo. “Uma figura paterna fez falta, mas eu fui forjado em uma educação feminina. E por isso eu sou muito grato. O resto é lucro. Minha mãe sempre me falou para ter o ‘meu teto'. Morar de aluguel e investir o dinheiro, do lugar onde eu vim, é balela. Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute YouTube Channel On this episode of The Sonography Lounge hosts Lori and Trisha sit down with Dr. Charlotte Derr & Dr. Allyson Hansen to discuss the GUARD Protocol (Gastric Ultrasound for Aspiration Risk Determination). With the increased use of GLP-1 Agonists (Semaglutide, with brand names such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus, Etc) for both diabetes and weight loss, there has been an increased number of aspirations in patients undergoing procedures. One of the effects of GLP-1 agonists is delayed gastric emptying which keeps patients feeling "full" thus reducing the desire to eat and overall caloric intake and blood sugar variations. Typically 6-8 hours not eating is enough time for a patient about to undergo an elective procedure to digest and empty their stomachs thus reducing the risk of aspiration while under anesthesia. With patients on GLP-1 agonists, we are seeing gastric contents remaining for several days after the last meal which can increase the risk of aspiration.  Dr. Derr and Dr. Hansen, discuss how they are using ultrasound and the GUARD protocol to determine the volume of food in a patient's stomach before elective and emergency procedures. This quick and simple bedside technique can drastically alter a provider's pre-procedure course of action.  CHARLOTTE DERR, MD, RDMS, FPD-AEMUS, FACEP Dr. Derr is the Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Fellowship Director of the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship Program at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, FL and serves as the Co-Medical Director at Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute. She is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. She has also obtained the Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Medicine US from the ABEM. She has authored and co-authored numerous articles, book chapters, and other publications on ultrasound and lectures throughout the US and internationally on diagnostic ultrasound.    ALLYSON HANSEN, DO Dr. Allyson Hansen is the Ultrasound Director at the University of South Florida Emergency Medicine program. She received her education at the University of South Florida and Campbell University. Dr. Hansen completed her Hackensack University Medical Center residency and Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship at Tampa General Hospital. The Sonography lounge is happy to be joined by Dr. Jon Jacobson and Dr. David Wang, two wild and crazy guys and masters of musculoskeletal ultrasound who are leading the way in this consistently growing industry. This episode is taking place as part of our Happy Hour series, winding down from a long day with a drink, casual banter,  and questions to get to know each other. Dr. Jacobson is a Musculoskeletal Radiologist with Lenox Hill Radiology in New York, NY. Dr. Jacobson earned his RMSK credential in 2012 from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He has published over 250 manuscript publications and has authored numerous book chapters as well as completing his 3rd edition of the textbook “Fundamentals of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.”  He lectures extensively throughout the United States and internationally and we have had the pleasure of working with him for many years. Dr. David Wang earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was selected as a teaching Fellow in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Resilience. Perseverance. The Hamilton Effect. Roderick “Storyteller Odd?Rod” Borisade, a 20-year veteran of performance,  proves that his message is more important than his words by leaving audiences across the country inspired to push beyond adversity. Coming from a home with a drug-addicted mother and an absent father, Rod suffered from depression as a teen before the death of his brother caused him to fight for his own life. After reprogramming his thoughts, he was able to overcome suicidal considerations and make it through grade school to earn a full scholarship to the University of North Florida. Documenting his journey in a series of poems and performing them at colleges across the country landed him another full scholarship to the University of Alabama where he earned his Master's Degree in April 2021. His transparent storytelling and rhythmic cadence captivate listeners while providing in-depth observations of surviving real traumatic events like suicide and addiction. He's been voted APCA's Spoken Word Artist of the Year 14',16',18', and 22'. De acordo com uma pesquisa realizada pela empresa americana MarketsandMarkets, o mercado global de inteligência artificial para a produção de conteúdo está crescendo muito desde 2018, que foi o ano em que os dados indicaram um investimento de 1,3 bilhões de dólares. A expectativa é que até o final de 2023 estejamos falando de 6,3 bilhões de dólares, com uma taxa de crescimento composto anual de 36,2%. Isso indica que cada vez mais empresas e indivíduos estão investindo em tecnologias de IA para ajudar na criação do seu conteúdo. A mesma pesquisa também apontou que a automação de conteúdo e a geração de conteúdo são as principais aplicações da IA, e que a indústria de mídia e entretenimento é o setor mais ativo na adoção dessas tecnologias. Um bom exemplo é a plataforma de produção em linguagem natural ChatGPT, cuja tecnologia torna possível gerar roteiros de forma automatizada. Então se nós temos visto muito robô fazendo coisas nas últimas semanas, como arte, pinturas e até mesmo imitação de vozes de cantores famosos, paciência – porque a tendência diz que vamos ver ainda mais. Esse crescimento segue tendências que já foram apresentadas em 2022 no estudo da CSA e da Havas feito com o público de podcast. Os ouvintes se mostraram muito mais interessados em uma empresa que se comunique com eles através do podcast, do que uma que só utilize das mídias tradicionais. A Audrey Brahim, chefe do comunicação digital do Grupo AXA declarou que o podcast é uma ótima oportunidade para as empresas se conectarem com seu público de forma mais intimista, o que fortalece o conteúdo das empresas, melhora a estratégia de marketing, e gera influência nas redes sociais. [Seus 2 centavos sobre isso já que a maior quantidade de clientes da RFPM vem do corporativo e ninguém nunca se cansa de te ouvir falar sobre isso]. Com as movimentações recentes do parlamento do Reino Unido e a renúncia de Liz Truss, a premiê britânica, o tema que mais cresceu entre o público de podcasts foi, é claro, notícias. Programas diários como o Newscast foram os que tiveram o maior alcance. O novo recurso permite que os podcasters enviem áudios para serem processados, criando um novo arquivo de áudio masterizado, que atende aos padrões e especificações atuais de podcast. Segundo o site do Blubrry, essa pós-produção automatizada economiza o tempo do produtor e melhora a experiência do ouvinte. O convidado desta edição fui o Leo Lopes, proprietário da Rádiofobia, e a conversa passou desde o alvorecer da podosfera brasileira, o início das nossas carreiras como produtores, até os desafios atuais de produzir podcast no Brasil. Na época, Glória tinha acabado de finalizar um processo de dois anos de recuperação de um tumor cerebral que a tirou da TV. Infelizmente, ela acabou falecendo por complicações de um câncer. The Sonography Lounge sits down with The American Institute of Ultrasound In Medicine (AIUM) and Peter Magnuson, CAE, who currently serves as the Director of Communications and Member Services. In this role, he oversees membership, marketing, social media and the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine. Peter has been at the AIUM for 8 years and enjoys developing new programs and opportunities for the AIUM's diverse membership. Peter goes over some exciting grant opportunities available to healthcare providers interested in furthering their ultrasound education. The Sonography lounge hosts, Lori Green and Trisha Reo Sit down with the founders of Focused Ultrasound Resources (FUR) Emily Downs, M.Ed., RDMS, RVT, RDCS, RT, and Michelle Sima, MS, RDMS, RVT to talk about the veterinary ultrasound market and opportunities within this exciting and evolving field. Emily Downs M.Ed., RDMS, RVT, RDCS, RT Emily graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a BS in Radiation Sciences and subsequently graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a Master's in Education. She served as the Program Director, and is a proud alumnus of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver, CO.  She provided lectures for all areas of the ultrasound program curriculum and as a human sonographer, performs general, high risk obstetric and fetal echocardiography ultrasound. Emily is an active member of Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and has several publications. She has also served on the board of directors for the International Foundation for Sonography Educators and Research (IFSER) and also works with the Pan American Health Organization (WHO) as a temporary advisor and international educator for ultrasound education. With a love for animals, Emily transitioned to veterinary sonography several years ago and co-founded Focused Ultrasound Resources (FUR). She has developed educational software for veterinary ultrasound through her company, Rad Imaging Skills and currently performs small animal ultrasound throughout the Denver area. Michelle Sima MS, RDMS, RVT Michelle graduated from Texas A&M University with her Bachelor of Science in Biology and consequently a Master's at Colorado State University. During her Master's, she worked on research with the veterinary radiologist using different imaging modalities, including ultrasound, to diagnose pneumonia in rabbits. This was her initial discovery of her love for ultrasound, so she pursued her career in ultrasound at the University of Colorado Hospital. She has worked at University of Colorado, outpatient imaging facilities, and as an ultrasound applications specialist. She has been a clinical instructor for three programs and is an active member of the ARDMS, SDMS, and AIUM. She has served on the ARDMS board writing panels, and is a published author of several educational courses through the SDMS.  With her goal to get back into the veterinary field,  Michelle began working with Antech Sound Imaging as a Clinical Education Specialist II, training veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary radiologists about ultrasound. She has taught in private and corporate veterinary hospitals, as well as at symposiums, conferences and private education events. Michelle has been a recognized speaker at veterinary conferences including VMX and WVC. During her time at Antech Sound Imaging she realized a need for professionals performing  veterinary ultrasounds in the field. Levitov, MD, FCCM, FCCP, RDCS Dr. Levitov is a Professor of Medicine at East Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. He is a registered cardiac ultrasound sonographer, NBE certified and a Fellow of American Society Critical Care Medicine and American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Levitov authored and co-authored several books including Critical Care Ultrasonography and Bedside Ultrasonography in Clinical Medicine, multiple book chapters and numerous publications. He lectures extensively in the United States and internationally. Dr. Levitov is 1 of 4 people in the US to receive the Healthcare Hero Award in 2016.   David P. Bahner, MD FAAEM, FACEP, FAIUM Dr. Bahner is Professor and the Ultrasound Division Director Department of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, OH. He has specialty training in hyperbaric medicine, emergency medicine research and an advanced teaching fellowship with ACEP. He was Membership Chair, AIUM and served on the Board of Directors, at the Society of Ultrasound in Medical Education.  He is currently the AIUM delegate to the AMA and an ex oficio member of the AIUM Board of Governors. He has earned fellow status as faculty of AAEM, ACEP and AIUM. He has multiple publications, written book chapters, letters and inventions as an advocate for point of care ultrasound. Dr. Bahner has published more than 60 articles on point of care ultrasound and education. Chris sits down with Patrick Roche, author of A Socially Acceptable Breakdown (Button Poetry), for a one-on-one conversation about passions, process, pitfalls, and poetry! Patrick Roche (he/him) is an award-winning poet, performer, mental health advocate, and Carly Rae Jepsen enthusiast from New Jersey. Videos of Patrick's work have amassed over 9.5 million views on YouTube, making him one of the most popular spoken word poets. Patrick has competed or been featured at multiple national and international competitions and festivals, including placing 3rd in the world at the 2016 Individual World Poetry Slam, 2nd at the 2017 Capturing Fire national queer slam, 9th at the 2017 National Poetry Slam as part of the Bowery Slam Team, and 3rd at the 2014 College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational (CUPSI, the national collegiate slam) representing Princeton University. Patrick serves nationally as an ambassador for the JED Foundation, promoting mental and emotional health, suicide prevention, and substance abuse awareness. In recognition of his work as a touring speaker and performer, Patrick was named the 2020 Spoken Word Artist of the Year by APCA (the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities), and he has featured at numerous conferences and conventions including the national conferences for both APCA and NACA (the National Association for Campus Activities). His solo stage show debuted in 2020 and was featured on BroadwayWorld. It was then selected for Dixon Place's HOT! Festival, the longest-running festival of its kind celebrating LGBTQ theater and art. Patrick is the author of the full-length poetry collection, A Socially Acceptable Breakdown (Button Poetry, 2021). He has also written two chapbooks: Wait 30 Minutes (self-published, 2015) and An Exercise in Necromancy, winner of Bowery Poetry Club's inaugural chapbook competition (Bowery Poetry/The Operating System, 2017). His work has appeared in or been published by Button Poetry, UpWorthy, Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post, NBC LX, MSN, Beech Street Review, Gal Pals Present, Freezeray Press, Voicemail Poems, and his mom's fridge.
