Το Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden είναι το νέο παιχνίδι του γαλλικού στούντιο DontNod υπό την αιγίδα και διανομή της Focus Entertainment. Το εν λόγω στούντιο είναι διάσημο για τα πρώτα επεισόδια της δημοφιλούς σειράς Life is Strange καθώς και του action rpg Vampyr ή του climbing simulator Jusant.

Welcome to Active Reload! It's an episode that would make the Emperor and the Imperium proud because this week both James and Grant give their glowing reviews for Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2! It's been a hit for Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, and that begs the question, why don't more franchises go after more AA studios with proven track records? Then, on the opposite side of the spectrum was PlayStation, who announced their newest PS5 Pro at a cost of a whopping $700 dollars! The guys give their reactions and thoughts on the presentation for the Sony mid-gen upgrade. Grant has also been playing Astro Bot, so he gives his thoughts on it. Plus, it's the 25th anniversary of the Sega Dreamcast, Grant relives some of his favorite games from that console and era. Finally, the guys close out with what's coming out this week and what they have been playing! Remember to rate, follow, like and subscribe to the show!

Our beloved games industry is currently mired in an economic crisis of its own creation. By rapidly expanding corporate headcounts during the pandemic -- and by foolishly forecasting 2020-era gaming habits would persist into future years -- many publishers and developers have found themselves dramatically overextended. In 2022, some 8,500 people lost their jobs in gaming; that number grew appreciably to 10,500 last year. Here in 2024, though? Not even a month into the calendar, we're sitting at around 6,000 job losses. And it's going to get way worse. How did pubs and devs get this so wrong? And how come the human cost falls upon the people who were hired, but not those that did the hiring? Plus: A reliable rumor indicates Until Dawn is PS5-and-PC-bound, Death Stranding 2's re-reveal may be right around the corner, Focus Entertainment foolishly rebrands itself, and more. Then: Let's wrap things up with listener inquiries, as usual. How do we balance multiple games at once? Could the harm leaks do to studios actually be overstated? Is paywalling New Game+ a step too far? When is the appropriate time in the day to shower? This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is back with this very, very special episode. We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming on the show none other than Deck Nine developer Stephan Frost. Stephan is the director of The Expanse: A Telltale Series, as well as playing the likes of Tor and Anderson Dawes in the co-developed Deck Nine title. But... before our wonderful StrangeCast interview with Frost, Adnan and Adam discuss two news pieces first. The StrangeCast hosts discuss the news that Don't Nod and Focus Entertainment have pushed back the release date of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden into 2024. Our other news piece is focused on none other than Life Is Strange: Forget-Me-Not, specifically a trailer that was dropped for the Titan Comics and Square Enix collaboration. In our in-depth chat with Frost, The Expanse director opened up on Deck Nine's work on the Telltale Games-published title, as well as working with Life Is Strange: True Colors star Erika Mori and Camina Drummer herself, Cara Gee! We also find out more about Frost's experience in the industry and how he ended up working at Deck Nine, while The Expanse director also teased what we can expect from the Archangel bonus episode.
