Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is BACK, folks. It's our pre-Summer Game Fest and Xbox Games Showcase episode, so it's time for Adnan and Adam to make their predictions for Don't Nod Entertainment, Deck Nine, Square Enix and Life Is Strange. BUT... before our predictions, the StrangeCast hosts have a lot of different topics to cover for this episode. Adnan and Adam talk about Don't Nod Montreal studio executive producer Luc Baghadoust revealing his favourite episodes from Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange 2. Speaking of Don't Nod Montreal, Life Is Strange 1 & 2 co-director Michel Koch has shared the three inspirations behind the upcoming Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. Don't Nod has confirmed that Tell Me Why is FREE on PC and Xbox consoles for Pride Month, while Deck Nine has seen The Expanse: A Telltale Series receive a nomination at the Gayming Awards. Oh, and Don't Nod's Twin Mirror is on sale for Steam, so that's our final piece of news before our main topic! StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.

On this week's episode, Johnny, Mike, and Kim discuss: We start off this week by discussing the game's we've been playing. Mike is still finding a work/life balance and playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Undertale, Star Citizen, and Marvel Snap. Kim is staring at boobs in Flipwitch, playing Labyrinthe, League of Legends, Vermintide 2, Alan Wake 2, New Cycle, South Park's Fractured but Whole, and the new Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Johnny anguishes in completing Hellboy's Web of Wyrd, plays Remnant 2, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Final Fantasy Origin: Stranger of Paradise, Midnight Fight Express, and also plays the new Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is BACK, and it's time for us to talk about all things Life Is Strange! We have news to cover around Deck Nine, Don't Nod and Square Enix, so without further ado, let's unpack the topics in this podcast episode! Of course, Adnan and Adam kick things off with a conversation about the recently announced Life Is Strange: Heatwaves, a second novel from Square Enix and Titan. The StrangeCast hosts discuss author Brittney Morris' involvement on Heatwaves and what the novel could mean for the future of Alex Chen and Steph Gingrich. Don't Nod's puzzle platformer Jusant has finally climbed its way onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, so Adam is here with his first thoughts on the new title from the French developer and publisher. Moving away from Don't Nod, Adnan and Adam turn their attention to Deck Nine and share their thoughts on Chrisjen Avasarala's outing in The Expanse: A Telltale Series' Archangel bonus episode. Finally, we close things out with our main topic segment, with Life Is Strange fan-favourite character Chloe Price placed under the spotlight for this particular conversation. For some people, Chloe is the best thing since sliced bread. For others, though, she's seen as a 'bad best friend' to Max Caulfield. So, where do Adnan and Adam stand on Chloe Price? Listen to find out! StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is finally back but with an all-new theme and logo! It's the same Life Is Strange fan-made podcast that everyone loves, but we felt it was in need of a fresh lick of paint. A special thanks to our designer, Christine Forster, for the new logo, as well as StrangeCast co-host Adam Evalt for our incredible new theme song.
Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is back with this very, very special episode. We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming on the show none other than Deck Nine developer Stephan Frost. Stephan is the director of The Expanse: A Telltale Series, as well as playing the likes of Tor and Anderson Dawes in the co-developed Deck Nine title. But... before our wonderful StrangeCast interview with Frost, Adnan and Adam discuss two news pieces first. The StrangeCast hosts discuss the news that Don't Nod and Focus Entertainment have pushed back the release date of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden into 2024. Our other news piece is focused on none other than Life Is Strange: Forget-Me-Not, specifically a trailer that was dropped for the Titan Comics and Square Enix collaboration. In our in-depth chat with Frost, The Expanse director opened up on Deck Nine's work on the Telltale Games-published title, as well as working with Life Is Strange: True Colors star Erika Mori and Camina Drummer herself, Cara Gee! We also find out more about Frost's experience in the industry and how he ended up working at Deck Nine, while The Expanse director also teased what we can expect from the Archangel bonus episode. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
This week on the Finger Guns Podcast we rejoice for Xbox having a cracking start with Starfield only to be derailed once again by an enormous data leak which showcased their plans for the next seven years all over the internet. We take a look and despite Phil Spencer downlplaying their significance, well, we get into them anyway and get giddy about what they shared. We also talk some good news in camp Xbox with the reveal that the UK CMA Regulatory Board have tentatively approved their Activision acquisition, at last. We get excited about this, not only because it means we may no longer have to bloody talk about it.Also, Square-Enix want to update classic IP to AAA status. What games would we like them to upgrade and well, more importantly, what the hell does that even mean?In her limited free time Kat has been finally checking out the glorious Powerwash Simulator, Miles has been checking out Dune: Spice Wars and the Ghostrunner II demo (which killed him 25 times in 26 minutes), Josh talks his multiplayer experience with the gang in Payday 3 and Rossko has been checking out the brand new but still the same EA FC24.We also talk the rather lovely Firewatch as Kat has finally jumped in, Rossko gets excited about Chris Scullion's brand new Dreamcast Encyclopedia, Josh talks wrapping up The Expanse: A TellTale Series, Miles recommends not watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie anytime soon.Theme Music – De Jongens Met de Zwarte Schoenen by RoccoW & xyce. | Edited and produced by Ross Keniston | Published by Acast.Team: @FNGRGNS / Rossko – @RosskoKeniston / Paul – @ThePaulCollett / Greg – @GregatonBomb / Josh - @jshuathompson / Sean – @Omac_Brother / Toby – @toby_andersen / Kat – @RainbowDropx / Tom - @T_Woods93 | Yogdog (Jonathan Brown) - @Yogdog | Facebook: FingerGunsUK / Twitch: twitch.tv/fingergunsdotnet / The Official Finger Guns Discord Discord: Join here! We are finally at the end of The Expanse A Telltale Game! I walkthrough my thoughts on the final episode of The Expanse and my general review of the entire series.
Denne gang med seje Camina Drummer fra The Expanse-universet i hovedrollen i spillet The Expanse: A Telltale Series. Is the 4th time the charm for The Expanse? I walk through what is slowly becoming one of my most disappointing games of the year with The Expanse Episode 4.
Episode 3 of The Expanse A Telltale Series is here. The First Ones gives us a glimpse into the darkside of the system as Drummer explores a Dead Space style space station. Does this trip through an abandoned ship elevate the series or are we starting to run out of hope for Drummer, Maya, and the rest of the crew?

This year, the seven games that were a part of the Tribeca Games selections were co-located with the 13 Tribeca Immersive experiences at Spring Studios. I had a chance to unpack each of the games with Casey Baltes who curated the selection and serves as the Vice President of Tribeca Games & Immersive at Tribeca Enterprises. We talk about the narrative innovations, novel gameplay mechanics, and expression of artistic excellence included in the seven games including Nightscape, Despelote, A Highland Song, The Expanse: A Telltale Series, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, Goodbye Volcano High, and Chants of Sennaar. The winner of the Tribeca games was Goodbye Volcano High with the jury statement saying, “For how much this game felt of the moment and questions whether you should still care about anything when everything sucks — complete with doom scrolling, dinosaurs and high school band drama.” Special Jury Mention for Tribeca Games was Despelote with the jury comment saying, “For how it offers a dreamlike portal into a soccer-obsessed child's everyday life, and shows how cultural expression—whether through sports or creative pursuit—can make our lives richer.” This is a listener-supported podcast through the Voices of VR Patreon. Kinfolk: Black Lands is described by co-founder Idris Brewster as "an Augmented Reality Archive of Black, Brown, LGBTQ, and underrepresented history in general using the power of immersive storytelling and immersive media to uplift stories from our past and connect those with the present and the future." It's an application that features over 20 prominent figures from Black History including digital monuments and statues that you can place in your home or local outdoor environments. There are also a number of public spaces of historical importance that have site-specific AR installations to engage audiences in the places where these histories occurred. I've covered a previous incarnation of Kinfold when it was Movers and Shakers back in episode #656 with Glenn Cantave when it was focused on recontextualizing the Christopher Columbus monument in New York City with augmented reality art. I had a chance to catch up with Idris at Tribeca Immersive 2023 to unpack the current state of the their Kinfolk project as well as Kinfolk app for iOS and Kinfolk app for Android, each with native AR features. We also dig into some future plans for their continued content expansion, looking into more immersive and volumetric work, and the potentials for more speculative future art that taps into the Black Imagination and Afrofuturism potentialities. Kinfolk earned a special jury mention for Tribeca Immersive Storyscapes with a jury comment saying, "A profound and authentic representation of the Black experience in America, KINFOLK's mission to bring history to contemporary audiences through AR technology not only celebrates the richness of Black culture and history in New York City and beyond, but also serves as a powerful tool for education and understanding, making it a standout contender deserving of recognition." The Expanse: A Telltale Series is a 5-part, 2D narrative game series that's a prequel to the Amazon TV and book series. I had a chance to play through the first 90-minute episode at Tribeca Games, and then unpack it with game director Stephan Frost of Deck Nine Games. It's published by Telltale, which is well-known for their interactive narrative games where there are consequential decisions that impact how the story unfolds in later episodes in a "broomstick" narrative architecture where episodes 3, 4, and 5 should have the most variance. The first episode was released on July 27th with each subsequent episode being released two weeks afterwards. This is a listener-supported podcast through the Voices of VR Patreon. Music: Fatality
Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is back ahead of schedule for this VERY special episode. Life Is Strange is talked about here and there in this episode, but we're all about The Expanse: A Telltale Series on this occasion. And we had the absolute pleasure to welcome on none other than BAFTA-nominated Life Is Strange: True Colors star Erika Mori, who provided additional mocap for Camina Drummer in Telltale and Deck Nine's The Expanse. Erika, who is none other than Alex Chen herself in True Colors, talks to Adnan and Adam about her work on The Expanse, teaming up with Deck Nine again, meeting and collaborating with Cara Gee and much more! Just an FYI: because we've pulled this StrangeCast episode ahead of time, we won't be dropping a new episode next week. We'll be returning to our 'normal' schedule from 29th August, which is when episode 52 of StrangeCast should drop. Until then, enjoy this episode with Erika!

The crew is back with a veritable bevy of games. Rob and Cado checked out The Banished Vault, a resource management game that pulls heavily from board games in that same genre. Patrick checks back in with Final Fantasy XVI and finds the game becoming more and more uninteresting as the focus moves away from the story it started to tell in it's opening hours. After the break, Ren's been playing Blood West, a solid immersive sim set in the Wild West that unfortunately (but not surprisingly) falls afoul of some problematic usage of Indigenous folklore. Rob and Cado talk about their time in The Expanse: A Telltale Series. And finally we end in an extra beefy question bucket full of stories about that velvet curtain at the back of the video store.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 173, there's a real focus on the best games coming out in August as well as a host of recent releases that our team have been playing. One of which is Antstream Arcade, delivering the largest official collection of retro games. So, be sure to tune in to find out more! Expect to hear from Gareth, James, Darren and Richard on this week's episode as they share their thoughts on a cavalcade of games. Amongst those they've been getting stuck into are the narrative-focused Venba, the ultrasonic dungeon crawler EchoBlade, the excellent Soulslike shooter Remnant II, and the rather tricky platforming escapades of Gimmick! Special Edition. There are also opinions given on Sea Horizon, The Expanse - A Telltale Series, and the aforementioned Antstream Arcade. If that isn't enough for you, then don't worry as the team runs through some of the Xbox games they are most looking forward to throughout the month of August. It's a real mixed bag of titles. The StrangeCast hosts also turn their attention towards Deck Nine, with developers from the studio speaking about the forthcoming The Expanse: A Telltale Series. Additionally, Adnan and Adam spotlight an interview with Cara Gee about her return as Camina Drummer for The Expanse title. Following our news segment, Adam shares with Adnan his thoughts on Harmony: The Fall of Reverie so far. And our main topic for this show is celebrating Don't Nod's 15th anniversary, all the while asking what is next for the French developer in the next 15 years? In the UK the plot thickens as it pertains to the Microsoft acquisition of Activision/Blizzard. A new trailer was released for the telltale treatment of the Expanse. Apple turns to Sony and says "Hold my Beer" and what about the current state of the gaming landscape as we know it now will be cringe worthy when we look back on it. http://www.joystickandmouse.com http://shop.joystickandmouse.com/ https://www.patreon.com/joystickandmouse Show Notes Microsoft could consider pulling Activision from the UK market as one extreme option to bypass the country's block of its proposed $69bn acquisition. That's according to a new Bloomberg report, which states that Microsoft president Brad Smith will meet with UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt next week to voice his frustration over the Competition and Markets Authority's (CMA) decision to block the deal. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/microsoft-could-withdraw-activision-from-the-uk-to-counter-acquisition-block-its-claimed/ https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-06-02/microsoft-s-smith-set-for-talks-with-uk-chancellor-over-deal-ban#xj4y7vzkg Ever since this game was announced The Game Awards in 2021, I've been looking forward to it. A new trailer for The Expanse: A Telltale Series was released this week, detailing the upcoming game based on the hit TV series ahead of its launch on July 27, 2023, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. What was once a niche media platform strictly enjoyed by the sort of geeks you'd only find in a bad '80s high school movie has now become a form of blockbuster entertainment (and, in many cases, an art form) revered the world over by millions upon millions of players. Despite this, there's plenty of room for improvement. Gaming today is fraught with issues, and money-grabbing schemes by publishers are just the tip of the digital iceberg. These are the failures, the tricks, and the schemes that the industry — and all those who are a part of it — are going to really, really regret in just a few years. https://www.grunge.com/93628/things-gaming-industry-will-regret-10-years/?utm_source=zergnet.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=zergnet_7633041&utm_content=1 Video Game Review Diablo 4 - Diddi

Adnan and Adam are back to talk all things Deck Nine, Don't Nod Entertainment, Square Enix and Life Is Strange in an all-new episode of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast podcast. We have a lot of news to cover in this episode, so we kick things off with the news that Deck Nine and Telltale Games have announced a release date for The Expanse: A Telltale Series. Additionally, Adnan and Adam have an in-depth chat about Deck Nine after the Life Is Strange: True Colors developer was hit with shock staff layoffs. The StrangeCast hosts turn their attention towards Don't Nod Montreal, with studio executive producer Luc Baghadoust revealing that the studio is continuing its recruitment on its unannounced project. Speaking of Don't Nod, the French publisher and developer announced 'Liva's Story' DLC for Gerda: A Flame in Winter, which was developed by Bird Island (formerly PortaPlay) in 2022. Finally, Adnan and Adam round off StrangeCast's news segment by celebrating the eight-year anniversary of Life Is Strange Episode 3: Chaos Theory. Our main topic is all about GQ's divisive list of the 100 best titles of all time, compiled by the 'experts' that were consulted for the piece. Life Is Strange, unfortunately, did not make the cut, but Adnan and Adam ask if the 2015 critically acclaimed episodic title should be considered a 100 best titles of all time contender. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
