We love to share great news on our podcast, but this time, we need to share some bad news about our COVID-19 numbers. Over the past two weeks, the incidence of COVID-19 cases in El Paso County has risen significantly. Increasing cases could lead to more stringent restrictions. Please wear a mask, social distance and wash your hands. We all have a part to play, and we need your help to limit the spread and protect our economy, health and well-being.For September 28 – October 12 our incident rate is 115.8, which is well over the allowed 0-75 incident rate under the Safer at Home Level 2 for El Paso County. That’s the number of positive cases per 100,000 people during the given two-week period. It is used to provide an understanding of the impact of the virus in the county.El Paso County Public Health’s Medical Director talks more about what these numbers mean and what’s at stake if they continue to rise. She also gives us helpful information and tips as we head into the colder months. Stay informed and help us move our community in the right direction! For more comprehensive local COVID-19 data, please visit our data dashboard: https://www.elpasocountyhealth.org/covid19data-dashboard.

Sisters in Loss Podcast: Miscarriage, Pregnancy Loss, & Infertility Stories
Abortion and Elective Termination has always been a topic in the US, with many opposing views. Roe v. Wade was a 1973 landmark decision by the US Supreme Court. The court ruled that a state law that banned abortions (except to save the life of the mother) was unconstitutional. The ruling made abortion legal in many circumstances. With the 2020 presidential election around the corner, states like Alabama, Georgia, and recently Missouri are attempting to pass laws to reduce gestation age for abortions up to banning abortions all together, thus attempting to overturn Roe. vs. Wade. For September we are exploring the healing and grief side of abortion on the Sisters in Loss Podcast. In the medical world miscarriages are called spontaneous abortions, and in this community we have to learn how to extend grace to individuals who electively terminate their pregnancies no matter their choice. Join us this month as we explore abortion stories and how healing, grief, and shame can keep all of us bound. Today’s episode is a solo episode as I am sharing my own personal abortion story. I have never told this story on this podcast, and wanted to share my truth to release the hurt, embarrassment, and shame I have worked through with therapy and carried around with me so many years. August 19, 2004 is a day I will never forget. It is also a day I almost lost my life ten years later giving birth to my rainbow baby boy. This episode is for you to listen to learn more about the healing that takes place post abortion and loss. For September’s edition of Recharge by Battery Materials Review we’ve got two great interviews, as well as a recap of all the key news both upstream and downstream in the sector for the month and a discussion of this month’s BMR focus piece which was on the 811 battery chemistry. We asked whether, given that nickel prices could increase substantially from here, 811 should really be the target battery chemistry or if other battery chemistries might be preferable? We also discuss the demise of Alita Resources, the first major loss of the lithium downturn. Will it be the last and what lessons can management teams and investors learn from it? This month’s interviews are: Rho Motion [8:17]: Adam Panayi is a consultant covering the automotive supply chain who does a lot of work on the impact of battery chemistries on raw materials. Our far-reaching interview covers the growth and outlook for the 811 battery chemistry, the impact of mass-market manufacturing on EVs and some thoughts about battery costs. You can find Adam’s website at https://rhomotion.com Piedmont Lithium (ASX:PLL) [30:16]: CEO Keith Phillips discusses his project’s strategic location in the industrial heartland of the US as well as its exceptional resource quality and potential to become a lowest quartile integrated lithium hydroxide project. www.batterymaterialsreview.com

Another day, another Spiderman. For September's themed episode of Similarly Different, we dive real deep into the critically-acclaimed "Into The Spider-Verse". The animated superhero film that took the world by storm in 2018 because of its new-age animation strategy, and diverse cast of characters, is broken down by an animation fanatic/professional (Dylan) and a self-proclaimed superhero expert (Robert). We talk about the big issues, why a middle-school child wouldn't be listening to Post Malone, where is Tobey Maguire in this film, our love for Jake Johnson and John Mulaney, and whether or not some of the criticism the film got was warranted.
For September and October, I'll be preaching a sermon series entitled, "Q&A: Questions Jesus Asks." This is the first sermon in the series. Today's scripture is Luke 2:41-52.

Each new season it's important for me to evaluate what my priorities are, how my routines are working, and what I need to change. As I head into the fall, I can sense that there are several big areas that I want to revamp. Join me as I take some great advice from my friend Brittany and share what I'm working on for this year: Listen to the Podcast: We also recorded this blog post as an audio podcast. If you want to listen in instead of reading, click play below or do a combination of both And don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast in iTunes. Right click here and save-as to download this episode to your computer. Think through those big priorities for your day Our new homeschool routine. For September it will be our conference Making sure I am sticking to our grocery budget and meal planning efficiently Carving out time for Jason and I to talk, and most importantly right now, have some fun together! Better routines overall: meal planning and grocery budget and especially my spiritual disciplines Does your schedule reflect your priorities? This is something that both Jason and I have been trying to work on this Summer. I honestly feel like I've been in some sort of survival mode for about 3.5 years now. 3.5 years ago I was pregnant with our second set of twins and our first set were 2. Then we had them, then when life was calming down and they were 9 months old, we found out we were pregnant with Magnolia. She was born in January 2017 and once life started settling down as she got older, I had some challenging health issues with my hormones and chronic fatigue. As I am now coming out of about a year of figuring out my health issues, I'm starting to feel like I can jump back into things again! So I'm excited as I face the Fall. I need to remember to add things in slowly, very slowly. Because my personality is the type to want to jump in with a whole new schedule with every second blocked out and allotted, but I know that isn't realistic or practical. So while there are many things I want to revamp, I need to start slow. So the first thing we want to change immediately is bringing back a better morning routine. So to achieve this, we need a better evening routine. For us, they go hand in hand! So Jason and I are both working on these two changes to help everything else! What am I wasting time on now? Honestly, my biggest waste of time right now is just not being intentional. Letting the nighttime hours slip by, then it's too late, then I can't get up early, etc. I am letting my schedule happen to me instead of scheduling it. Now of course, especially with little kids, I can't schedule everything and a lot of what I do can change at the drop of the hat. Is there a disconnect between what you want your priorities to be and what they actually are? During the actual conference, the next thing that Brittany does is show you on screen how to actually build those priorities into a manageable schedule which is really cool! But we don't have time to share that part on the podcast today. So let's move to the next topic which is her second deep dive session on how to deal with distractions when planning your priorities and routines. Dealing with Distractions Leave plenty of margin! I use to over schedule down to the minute or 15 minute blocks and it use to work reasonably well for me. But now with kids, that simply does't work anymore! Good advice to leave margin and plenty of white space. Leaving room for joy and spontaneity This might be my favorite suggestion yet! I am a scheduler and a go go go person. And while raising my kids, part of this can be good and organized and other times I need to be flexible and joy filled as I raise them. We try to leave open blocks of time throughout our day and week where we can have a picnic on the lawn, enjoying an evening at the park while we eat dinner, etc.
Hello and welcome to episode 32 of HCS Pro Talk! This week, the Europa Halo Champions League Grand Finals took place along with a ton of other community run tournaments. Of course there is plenty of news to cover, scrims to recap, and other things to talk about. Finally, we get into the main topic of the show which is maps and map design within Halo. Thank you for the listening and as always, links to everything that is talked about in the episode is below for your viewing pleasure. We can’t quite announce that date yet – but we’re in the home stretch and quickly closing in on that huge milestone. Once the retail update goes out, the next order of business is bringing the new and improved MCC to Xbox GamePass – which was officially confirmed back in June during E3. We’ll have more details to share here soon but final timing is still pending the current flight and overall status for the retail patch itself. Once retail MCC is updated and the title moves into GamePass, the MCC Insider Program is going to morph into something a little different. We’re still working through some of the final details but a persistent “test realm” is going to live alongside the retail product where the team will continue working and iterating (along with the highly anticipated “Custom Games Browser”). Once that shift occurs, anyone who owns a digital copy of MCC (there’s no viable entitlement system for a physical disc) or is an active GamePass subscriber will be able to continue playing the Test Realm builds and helping to shape future updates for MCC. This test realm is where ongoing work will continue with further patches, fixes and features that will then roll into the retail product. Every few weeks we here at Subdrive bring you our podcast showcasing a mix from an artist we respect and love at the moment. Their mixes reflect what they’re feeling in the moment and are presented without track listing. For September we’re excited to share Brooklyn-based producer @bailemusic’s first podcast mix for Subdrive. Fresh off the heels of his set at our Subdrive party in New York on August 29th, his mix is a journey through the darker side of house and techno with a proper touch of his signature haunting vocal taste. The mix showcases singles from his new ‘Matter’ EP (which we are absolutely in love with), out now on @Color-Station. This week Marcian Knowles has a pipe tobacco question for Bob and Dale. The herf line has three callers: Roger from Texas wants a recommendation for a table top lighter; Angry Bill checks in from the mobile law dog lounge to let us know about some cigars that listeners might like to try; and a listener from Pennsylvania talks about Ashton cigars. There are two contests this month: 1) Enter Craig Schneider's September Esencia Contest by sending in your review or "experience" of smoking an Esencia cigar to theshow@cigarmedia.tv. (Be sure to type "Esencia" on the subject line.) On Craig's next appearance on DogWatch (Show #348 on October 14th), he will be awarding some cigars from his personal humidor for the best submission (as he judges it). 2) You can also enter September's Palio Cutter Contest by sending a photo of you or your friends enjoying a cigar to theshow@cigarmedia.tv. (Don't forget to include your mailing address and type "Palio" on the subject line.) The featured 'Cigar of the Week' is the San Lotano Oval. The 'What's My Band?' cigar is the Ilusione mj12 provided by Liz. Check out the live show! Go to http://www.cigarmedia.tv/live/ where the show is broadcast live most Friday evenings at 9 PM EST. Cigar of the Week - San Lotano Oval - by AJ Fernandez. Wrapper: Habano 2000 Wrapper (4+ years) Binder: Nicaragua Filler: Nicaragua / Honduras (AJ Fernandez Secret Filler) What else have you been smokin' Dale? Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Robusto - 5 x 50 A cigar I have smoked for years, this is one of the sticks that put Rocky Patel on the map. Made in Honduras with Nicaraguan, Honduran and Costa Rican tobaccos wrapped in a Corojo wrapper, this blend provides creamy rich flavors - coffee, chocolate and nutty, with some tangy exotic spices. Don Lino Africa Gordito Torpedo - 4” x 58 Tobaccos from Honduras, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Africa combine for a bold smoke in a short “me too” size. Smooth and complex, but full of hearty flavors What else have you been smokin' Bob? La Sirena - The Prince : 5x50 version of the cigar launched in late 2010 by Miami Cigar & Co, produced by My Father Cigars. Utilizes Nicaraguan Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Corojo 96 in the filler plus a dual Nicaraguan Habano and Nicaraguan Corojo binder wrapped in a hearty Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. A hearty and sumptuous smoke with coffee, leather and a savory sweetness. I like them so much I bought a box. Oh and you have got to love that band that covers at least a third of this size, I remove it before lighting to avoid flash fires. La Sirena is offered in the following 5 sizes: Sea Sprite – 5.5 x 42 The Prince – 5 x 50 Divine – 5.5 x 52 (figurado) King Poseidon – 6 x 60 Trident – 7 x 50 Padron 1964 Anniversary - When you want a full flavored cigar that will transport you back in time to a simpler place where men smoked cigars, dogs were allowed in the saloon and gas cost less than a dollar a gallon, grab yourself one of these. This is the most expensive cigar I smoke regularly, not daily but a couple a month because this cigar is perfectly balanced, well aged and smooth flavored. Everything a guilty pleasure should be without the guilt. Choose your pleasure in maduro or natural wrapper. La Reloba Sumatra - Another product of My Father Cigars. This is still one of my favorites and I have decided I prefer the Sumatra to the Habano. Medium to full bodied these cigars are affordable and flavorful. The Sumatra has a woody-leather flavor profile that balances out nicely with the savory accents and sweetness of this cigar. What's My Band? - The Ilusione mj12 provided by Liz. Overall, Bob was not particularly fond of this cigar. He felt that the flavors were OK but that there was no particular balance. Palio Cutter Contest: The August winner of a classic black Palio cutter is Gregory Dunn from Massachusettes. For September's contest, we are looking for photos of you and your friends enjoying cigars. Send your entry to theshow@cigarmedia.tv. Please include your mailing address with your entry and type "Palio" on the subject line. Do you have a suggestion for the unbanded cigar of the week? Every week Bob and Dale include an “unbanded cigar” segment in their show in which they smoke a cigar without any markings and give their honest opinions. Bob then opens a sealed envelope and discovers the cigar’s name and manufacturer. If you have suggestions for the "What's My Band?" segment, please send them to liz@cigarmedia.tv. Do you have a Cigar Review? If you call and leave a cigar review on the herf line and it is played on the show, you will receive a DogWatch Cigar Radio patch! You can reach the Herfline at 321-594-4373 - or cigar.radio on Skype. You can also send email to theshow@cigarmedia.tv. Listener Jeff Curtis lets us know about a Fuente event he attended with Cynthia, Carlos and Carlito at Holt's Cigar Company in Philadelphia. The featured 'Cigar of the Week' is the Illusione Cuchillos Cubanos provided by Joe Fuller. The 'What's My Band?' cigar is the Tatuaje Series P Sumatra White Label suggested by Dan Crouch. Check out the live show! Go to http://www.cigarmedia.tv/live/ where the show is broadcast live most Friday evenings at 9 PM EST. Cigar of the Week - Illusione Cuchillos Cubanos- A 60/40 blend of long and medium filler tobacco. Tobacco origin: Nicaragua Cuchillos Cubanos - Picadura Supremo Sizes: ~40~ 5 1/4 x 40 (5-pack) ~42~ 4 3/4 x 42 (5-pack) ~46~ 4 1/2 x 46 (5-pack) ~47~ 7x47 (4-pack) What else have you been smokin' Dale? Buena Vista Reserve Torpedo 5.63 x 54 Doble Robusto - Ecuadorian puros, this line comes in a total of 9 vitolas. The tobacco is all grown in one valley in Ecuador. In their promotional material, Buena Vista makes a big deal out of using Cuban seed and Cuban rollers to create these cigars - not a bad thing, but leaning heavily on the Cuban mystique to market the cigars. Do the cigars hold up to the hype? I enjoyed the one I had this week, but it won’t make my regular rotation list. Medium bodied and fairly complex, it had floral and leather characteristics. Well made and it burned well. Unfortunately, it had that soapy taste that puts me off a bit. I will try some other sizes - perhaps a smaller ring gauge won’t exhibit that flavor as much. Satori Zen 6.75 x 52 Double Torpedo - Many thanks to Kevin at Winston's Humidor for passing this cigar along to me to try! The Satori is another of the micro-batch lines made by Andre Farkas (Viaje). Satori is Japanese for “enlightenment”. This is a Nicaraguan puro, but made in Honduras at Raices Cubanas. The wrapper is an oily, dark Oscuro and the cigar is square pressed and closed on both ends. Two other sizes were available (a Robusto called Karma and a Toro called Nirvana), but only 150 boxes of each size was released this year. The cigar has a very earthy character, and the top thought in my mind from the first half dozen puffs was pepper crusted charred elk steak. There is some cocoa and coffee notes, although very subdued. Medium bodied and not very complex, I still enjoyed this cigar tremendously What else have you been smokin' Bob? CAO OSA: CAO OSA SOL Wrapper: Olancho San Agustin Sun Grown Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf Filler: Honduras, Nicaragua La Palina Pasha: 7.25 x 50 - The Pasha is named for Bill’s father, William S. Paley. As founder and chairman of CBS, William reached into every home in America. It was his interest in promoting the sales of the family cigar company through the use of radio that led him to the broadcasting business. Though known as The Chairman at work, he was jokingly known as Pasha at home. Santos Miami from Jameson Cigar and La Tradicion Cubana - Beautiful square pressed Dominican product that is the strongest of the Jameson line, not dark and oily but sneakily strong. Also previewed some smokes for upcoming shows: Buena Vista Ecuadorian Puro Lou Rodriquez Torano Loyal Reinado San Lotano Oval EP Carillo Maduro What's My Band? - The Tatuaje Series P Sumatra White Label suggested by Dan Crouch. Palio Cutter Contest: The August winner of a classic black Palio cutter is Gregory Dunn from Massachusettes.
