EPA). This week we're discussing Metallica's latest album, 72 Seasons. While this is far from their worst album and not awful overall, it does nothing we haven't heard before. There are still standout moments, but it seems as though James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich aren't interested in progressing their sound and style at all. If you enjoyed their previous album, you'll probably enjoy this one. If not… well, you get the idea.Closing track: “Inamorata”72 Seasons on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/70uejEPPRPSLBrTRdfghP5?si=ac6814c6d6e64f30Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/everyalbumeverMerchhttps://pandermonkey.creator-spring.com/Mike's EP:Pander Monkey on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple,Instagram:Mike @pandermonkeyAlex @everyalbumalexHistory Tom's stuff:New album on BandcampDebut album on Bandcamp, Spotify, AppleSubstackWebsite

A year ago today, we released our most ambitious episode yet: an exploration of postwar German artist Anselm Kiefer's layered, dense, enormous canvases that themselves respond to the enormity of Holocaust survivor Paul Celan's layered, dense poem, "Todesfugue." In honor of it taking the gold in podcasting at the American Alliance of Museums' MuseWeb awards, we're re-releasing the episode, and with it the layers of metaphor and materials, texture and text, golden straw and blackened ash, that comprise the unimaginable. Have you ever wondered how to meet like-minded designers? Have you heard of AIGA? In this episode, we meet Caitlyn Hoffmann, a graphic designer from Appleton, Wisconsin. She has earned her design degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2018 and loves building identity systems to help small businesses reach their true potential. Caitlyn also loves listening to podcasts and is an avid listener to Design Atlas, which is why we are so grateful to her for taking the time to speak with us. Both Megan and Jens are great friends with Caitlyn, as they all studied at the University of Wisconsin-Stout together. Caitlyn has also been an avid AIGA leader. AIGA is the internationally known American Institute of Graphic Arts. She participated as president of the local University of Wisconsin-Stout chapter where she organised design events from speakers to design-focused field trips. In this episode, we’ll hear Caitlyn’s story and learn where she gathers her creative inspiration, and how AIGA has positively shaped her life as a designer. This week I talk with Joseph Rodriguez from Love Again and formerly of Inamorata. Joseph's story into music is unique and timeless. His road into his current band Love Again is that of the belief that music is for maker and the listener, not one or the other. His taste in music is refreshing as well as interesting. Take a walk with us through his life and love of music, I promise it will be smooth and exciting, with some great announcements along the way!!!!!
www.inthedollworld.com Emilia shares with us a wonderful and sometimes challenging entrpreneurial journey on her road to being an amazing couture doll artist. Her tenacity has led to creating a living for herself creating dolls which is what most creatives and artists long to do. From selling her drawings in school to get pocket change to learning the skills of sculpting from her time being an art model which gave her a very discerning eye for sculpting and creating Inamorata dolls and Emilia Couture. Her journey is a fascinating look into an amazing artist who also shares her fascinating and unique details she adds to bring her dolls to life. She started collecting and repainting dolls in 2006 and the hobby soon gained a life of its own. In 2009 I won an international CDDC (Couture Doll Design Challenge), a contest in designing doll fashions and got my first two features in American doll magazines. It made me believe that the hobby could turn into a career. In 2010 Emilia began developing her own doll, and slowly hand sculpting it from wax for two years. In 2012 the first Inamorata doll was unveiled at the IDEX doll convention and the doll was awarded DOLLS magazine Award of Excellence in 2013. She feels very honored and grateful for being able to make a living doing what I love all these years. - If you are interested in learning more about Emilia and her dolls, visit: https://www.inamoratadolls.com/
The art of postwar German artist Anselm Kiefer and the poetry of Holocaust survivor Paul Celan have a lot in common. They're both layered, dense, hard to read, and most of the time you're not quite sure if you get it. And while this might seem like an onerous way to understand history, sometimes the best starting point is through the layered, dense, and idiosyncratic ways that an individual processes trauma. So grab a spelunking hardhat and together we'll mine these layers of metaphor and materials, texture and text, golden straw and blackened ash, that comprise the unimaginable. The Guild of Calamitous Intent and the OSI renegotiate their contract, Hank reunites with Dermot, and Dean goes back to the place where he learned that he and Hank were clones...only to find out that Rusty was ALSO A CLONE. Oh, and did you know that H.E.L.P.eR. MOD-2 was voiced by Rhys Darby? Fun!INTRO MUSIC COURTESYBradley David Parsons inspired by JG ThrilwellRESEARCH COURTESYBrok Holliday
