Warning to Voyager fans: we love you, but if you have trouble with dissenting opinions about this pilot, please do not listen. Jack (cohost of the APECAST!) gets so excited about the meeting of the classic ape-like Mugatos with villainous laser-whippin' Ferengis that he has to call Ferengi expert Kregg (obviously!), Barm (as you do) and brother Sam (why not?) to go absolutely APESHIT over this wacky adventure.  In the spirit of the episode, they have plenty of pronunciation problems of their own, while talking the Kzinti, Stephen King, Dark, Australian Tellarites, REFERENCES, What If…, Shang-Chi, and just about every movie currently in theaters.  It's as sexually arousing as watching two Mugatus go at it.

Through the drunken haze, the two recognize the ways that this little Lego thing is strong in the Force, and also, the ways in that is why you fail.  (Too drunk to make that sentence work proper).  Wouldn’t be proper!?  Wouldn’t have it any other way.  HAPPY LIFE DAY.

Jack, Barm and Ferengi Expert and Golden Boy Kregg Castillo are BOOKING it to BOOK CENTRAL to discuss SANCTUARY.  Which also means they gon’ talk about Detmer and Tilly’s Andorian hubby getting their trench run on with Grudge in their lap, Emperor Georgiou at peak intolerability (and Culber reacting appropriately), the Section 31 show they would actually be excited to see, ESL aliens, pronouns, Stamets jam sessions, really liking this episode, SEA LOCUSTS and fucking BOBA FETT.  MANIFEST!

It’s the first big Disco party of Season 3, as Jack, Sam and Kevin of RTW, Barm, and Ferengi expert and Golden Boy Kregg collide in orbit over Earth, and tensions are running HIGH when the group finds itself dividing into factions.  (And this is even before George Lucas pops in to offer up his hot takes.)  Sure, we can all agree on key issues like Book = delightful, Georgiou = irritating, Saturn = awesome, but is this episode more overly melodramatic preponderance, or one of the best episodes of the series??  It’s the most contentious issue in America today, without question, but the difference is, we have ANSWERS.  Or do we?  The only way to rip the bug alien helmet off and open your mind is to PRESS PLAY.

Happy Life Day everyone!  Your gift is more Drunk Star Wars!... in commentary form.  We’re going into the deeper gnostic regions of the Star Wars cinematic universe as Jack guides Kregg to some Hi-Third-Oh unseen Star Wars films for him.  We’re kicking it off with something amazing; the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special!  What more can be said here, except to tell you that if you want to follow along with us, try to find a version titled “The Star Wars Christmas Special” (even though that’s not what’s it called; the War on Christmas started MUCH earlier than we imagined), which also has commercials from the original airing, which are honestly more fun to see than the Special itself.  It’s like a skyscraper made of hot dogs! 

There are two Short Treks out that we haven’t even addressed yet, but first, it’s vitally important that me and Kregg get drunk and do a commentary for this almost forgotten thirty-four year old sequel to a classic movie.  And you’ll find 2010 to be much improved with the addition of two drunk guys doing a lot of shitty Russian accents and making “that’s what she said” jokes over the film.  Starring Helen Mirren, John Lithgow, Roy Scheider, and Bob Fucking Balaban.

Jack and Kregg get drunk and do an audio commentary for 2001: A Space Odyssey, for some reason.  It’s a thing that doesn’t even have “star” anywhere in the title!  So fire up your copy of the film and prepare for the only thing that can improve on PERFECTION: two drunk idiots talking over it.  This summary can serve no further purpose;  Goodbye.

Rejoice!  Short Treks are here!  New Discovery!  But are Short Treks actually Discovery!?  Just one of the many thorny issues Jack and friends are diving into as they luxuriate in the first new Silvia Tilly footage in MONTHS.  Other topics on the table:  Classic TV Tropes that Short Treks have no interest in discontinuing,  the fate of 3D movies, Mad Max: Fury Road, when this Short Trek takes place (a subject of particular interest to a reinvigorated Continuity Carlos), what internet memes are like on sentient cat planets, insect larvae, and good ol’ Stephen King and Philip K.
