David Ortiz leads the Red Sox charge to the World Series by beating the Yankees in the ALCS. Down 3 games to none, Boston won four straight and clinched their World Series ticket.

Game 7 of the 2001 World Series, the Yankees look like they are going to win their 4-straight championship, but Luis Gonzalez had other ideas.

In 2001, the Yankees staged a ferocious comeback against the Diamondbacks in the World Series. Yankee Captain claimed the name Mr. November since there was only one Mr. October (Reggie Jackson).

The Mets won the series, four games to one, to accomplish one of the greatest upsets in Series history, as that particular Orioles team was considered to be one of the finest ever. The World Series win earned the team the sobriquet "The Miracle Mets". This was the first World Series of MLB's divisional era.

Pujols tied the World Series record for home runs in one game, joining Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson as the only players to do so.

The Oakland A's won 3 World Championships from 1972-1974, including 5 straight division titles from 1971-75.

It happened in Game 5, Smith's first home run from the left side of the plate, a liner over the wall in right off reliever Tom Niedenfuer to snap a 2-2 tie and give the Cardinals a walk-off victory and a 3-2 lead in an expanded NLCS.
