This week, we're on our way to St Louis, MO., to record the podcast "The Brighter Side of Blue" which highlights the great work police officers do in American communities. On the way, we discuss Starbucks' Cardamom Coffee, Elon Musk's new Robovan, and - most extensively - the ongoing saga of P'Nut the Squirrel. It started out as a public health alert, but has mushroomed into a big political issue in New York. There's a perception that the state interfered needlessly in a dispute which, bizarrely, also involves the porn site "Only Fans". Kristi has the very latest on our road trip. Did Sean "Diddy" Combs orchestrate a web of sex, drugs and violence scandals that could eclipse the darkest Hollywood tales? After a federal grand jury in New York indicted the 54-year-old, and a judge ordered him to a notorious jail, we examine the history of the torrid accusations and rumours, and ask whether society is finally closing in on wealthy abusers. Kristi tells of her time at the Playboy Mansion: "I never saw any oil, I never saw naked bodies" but she also recounts the story of when she was propositioned on the floor of the US Senate. The charges against Combs include sex offenses and transportation for prostitution, with the indictment claiming he "abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct." His lawyer, Mark Agnifilo maintained at Combs' initial court appearance that his client is "an innocent man with nothing to hide." Liss N' Kristi are saddened by the news of the break-up of Mandie Kaii and Danae Hays, a lesbian couple whose relationship became an overnight sensation after going viral on YouTube and social media, partly because of their willingness to discuss their deepest feelings and challenges in public. Today Kristi, Alissa and their friend Shanna Brown go for pedicures, ahead of launching themselves into one of America's more bizarre online industries. Feetfinder.com claims to have generated $60-million for the people who publish their feet pics. It seems like the ultimate get-rich-quick-from-home plan, right? And you don't even have to identify yourself in the pictures you publish. But does it work and, if so, how does it work? And what in the world is "Financial Domination"? Today's guest is Suzanne Kianpour, an international journalist who seeks a genuine place for women in reporting and negotiating from conflict zones around the world. From her start at Emory University to the BBC, Suzanne understood that more young women needed to be encouraged and supported in journalism reporting, and that women can play a vital role in both informing people and, simultaneously, helping to offer differing perspectives on defusing international conflicts. Suzanne has covered issues ranging from the "Mueller Report" on Donald Trump's alleged ties to the Russian authorities, to the current conflicts in the Middle East. In this episode with Liss and Kristi, she also navigates the balance between personal and professional ambitions, particularly for women in journalism. Drawing inspiration from pioneering journalists like Barbara Walters and Savannah Guthrie, we discuss the pressures and challenges women face in balancing career aspirations with personal life goals. For aspiring Journalism and Reporting students - it's a huge advantage to speak a foreign language (in Suzanne's case, Farsi and others) or to have studied Economics ,or a related practical social science. Twenty-five years ago, Kristi was brutally attacked in an ordeal that forever changed her perspective on personal safety. This week, she bravely revisits that horrifying night, when a man feigned familiarity to gain her trust, only to launch a violent assault while she was driving through what she believed to be a safe neighborhood. He left her for dead, and fled before police arrived. He then went on to attack two more women before he was caught, seven months later. Kristi says the ordeal, which is still vivid today, inspired her to launch the hugely successful K9s4COPS, a non-profit which places trained dogs with law enforcement agencies and in schools across the United States. After serving on more than a dozen non-profit boards, all overseeing important charitable causes, Kristi became frustrated about the red tape involved in getting funding donations to the sources of the problems. Then one night she saw a TV news show about a law enforcement officer in Houston who lost his service dog to violence. She devoted much of her subsequent philanthropy to launching a new non-profit: "K9s4COPS" which places working dogs in schools, law enforcement organizations, and local communities. In this episode of Liss'N Kristi, she tells Alissa how it all came about, and why it is increasingly important for local communities, and for her legacy. 00:00 - Start00:15 - Introducing Kristi's passion: K9s4cops and K9s4kids01:15 - "14 years ago, sitting on a dozen boards, I didn't feel fulfilled"02:04 - "everything from the arts, to hospitals, I gave it my all"02:38 - "Watching TV, I saw this beautiful dog, with his officer"04:07 - "I'll guess they'll just give him another dog"05:12 - "He had to go home to his kids without the dog"06:20 - "I'm sitting on the ballet board"06:50 - How do you get past all the red tape?07:14 - Having your name on the side of a building07:50 - "How does somebody give $20 towards that dog who protects their children?"10:02 - "This county has been ten years raising the funds for one dog"10:35 - A dog's nose is 500 times stronger than a person11:02 - "They don't call in sick"12:03 - The first fundraiser at Kristi's house: "That dog does tricks" 13:45 - "That dog can run 35 miles an hour"14:45 - "Probable Cause"15:30 - $130-million dollars worth of Fentanol16:30 - K9s4Cops.org18:00 - Only funded by private donors19:20 - https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/22:01 - "Politicians - I'm still waiting"22:35 - "You can no longer fund this project on your own"23:37 - A really amazing phone call - Canines in hospitals27:05 - Every child deserves a safe place to be: K9s4KIDS29:20 - Dogs are quicker 30:31 - "They get to bathe Lucy that week"32:10 - Second Amendment Rights - Let's work on an alternative33:25 - "You want to give a teacher a gun, and you want her to save the day?"34:45 - European dogs have better hips37:41 - These officers are so excited to get a dog39:20 - Our oldest dog working was 1440:15 - "We want to see the dog retire with its handler"44:10 - How to give back by funding the dogs

The latest is "Looks Familiar" - a spectacular collection of her haphazard, yet spectacularly accurate, portraits of often-familiar characters. In Part Two of the celebration of Kristi's birthday, Alissa goes back to when Kristi first became sick, and traces it to her recovery. From the denial, to the refusal, to the multiple discoveries and treatments, and the role of undiscovered mold pollution in creating sickness among many people. Kristi we know as "Broadcast Queen", "Seasoned Cliff-Jumper", and founder/leader of a multi-million dollar non-profit charity which pairs law enforcement officers with trained dogs across the US, saving lives in schools and in drug trafficking. As we discover, part of Kristi's problem is the overwhelming pressure she felt, in common with many women, to help others before caring for herself. Here's the part of her story about how her heart stopped, and started again. In Part One of this series about Kristi's life, Alissa breaks through Kristi's bombast to hear the real story about her survival from six heart strokes. Kristi is also known as "Broadcast Queen", "Seasoned Cliff-Jumper", and founder/leader of a multi-million dollar non-profit charity pairing law enforcement officers with trained dogs across the US. None really tell you about the real Kristi story. As a self-described Master of First Impressions, she is consumed with empathy for others, an energetic and practical campaigner against injustice, a supporter of strugglers no matter what the struggle (or as she says: "A Fairy Do-Gooder"), and regardless of background or creed. Whatever the challenge, Kristi finds a strategic way to help, the best way she can. Does she sound like a true Texan? Here's her story of survival from chronic illness. Kathy Griffin says women make great private investigators because most people expect men to do it. And because many clients and "targets" might confide more willingly in a woman. This might be why "KGriff", the all-women investigative business she launched in Houston three decades ago has expanded into a nationwide agency. But it may also be because of Kathy's dedication to helping and protecting victims, especially children. In this episode, Kristi's long-term friend talks about some of the issues her team encounters, ranging from infidelity to elderly abuse to online scams, and how "Catfishing" is now one of the biggest concerns alongside the child custody cases she solves. https://www.kgriff.com00:00 - Start 00:32 - How Kristi met Kathy00:58 - "You don't get this kinda talk on Joe Rogan"01:24 - She's one of the top PI's in the country01:35 - "We're always on duty"01:55 - "I was always drawn to help people find out the truth"02:35 - Kathy's Dad, Michael, owned Griff's Irish Pub in Houston 03:00 - Back in the 1990s, there were no women private investigators03:15 - The security officers who worked for my Dad went to work as PIs, so I said: "Can I ride along"?03:25 - "As a female, I was getting the answers faster"04:10 - Female clients felt more comfortable with Kathy05:15 - Being a female-owned business gave them an advantage 05:23 - They did all the background checks for the city and the county06:10 - Surveillance at the St Regis07:23 - "I heard you were looking for me"08:30 - How the internet has changed investigations08:57 - We can get very detailed background checks 10:15 - There are a lot of scammers out there11:05 - Catfishing is rampant, much of it from loneliness12:40 - The telltale signs of a catfisher 15:15 - "So you're a therapist, too"16:05 - "They want to relate to a female who understands"17:29 - "Men get hurt too"18:45 - The signs of infidelity 22:20 - Are people still in denial?24:02 - Retaliation from a spouse25:05 - "I needed to know if she was real, so I followed her" 29:08 - Someone had stolen her identity 31:25 - The surgeon's IPad33:05 - The husband is cheating with a man33:25 - How do you break that to someone?35:20 - How to find Kathy and her investigation team 37:02 - Rescuing a child and dealing with a family dispute 40:01 - July 3rd is actress Betty Buckley's birthday41:25 - "Many of my clients are my best friends, still today"

Today's episode is Part Two of our conversation with Nic McKinley, an entrepreneur, former military special operator, and ex-CIA operative who led two multimillion-dollar tech companies. We pick up our dialogue about human trafficking in the United States, and the role of DeliverFund, a non-profit he founded and led, which delivers data and technology to law enforcement, working with more than 500 agencies, and enabling them to take down the traffickers. We examine the role pornography plays in the trafficking process, and Nic asks: "How can men be better men?" Despite being dubbed “The Real Jack Ryan” by VICE Media, Nic tells Liss 'N Kristi his most important role is as a husband and father leading his family in a life of service and adventure in Montana. When he is not in his office, he can be found on a lake, on the ski slopes, camping, climbing vertical rock or ice in the mountains, with his nose in a book learning something new, or spending downtime with his wife, Danielle. When Mackenzie Fultz's college professor doubted her ability to crack the male-dominated world of Private Investigators, she took it as a challenge that would define her life. After teaching herself how to trail suspects ranging from cheating husbands to alleged pedophiles, she spent 18 years as a qualified Florida P.I. In this episode, Mackenzie tells Liss'N Kristi about the people she exposed, the dangers she faced from online and physical threats, and the hours she spent alone in cars carrying out surveillance (while experimenting with makeup). Eventually, she was talked into launching the Dating Detectives Podcast, and a direct-to-consumer makeup business, based on her experiences. They launched and built what has since been named Three Dudes Farm, specializing in cultivating florals and foliage and supplying local florists and designers with locally-grown blooms and plants. (The "third Dude" is their son, born in 2017.) They're now launching an 'offshoot' initiative: curating breathtaking bouquets for individual subscribers. Their vision for their Montgomery, TX. farm is a community space of growing fields, educational gardens, artist cottages, and vibrant event venues. In this episode, as Brett walks through the property, we discuss how their business emphasizes not just flowers, but the entire ecosystem, preserving soil health, conserving water, supporting native plants, and fostering a thriving pollinator community. Brett talks openly about his mental health challenges and explains how gardening first revived his spirits. We hear about how they've accumulated many rescue dogs, cats, horses, and some sheep, goats, and chickens along the way. On the night of August 2, 1976, a former college basketball star and his date, Priscilla Davis, returned to her home after a night on the town with friends and were met by a man dressed in black and a hail of bullets. When the gunfire ended, two people were dead, and Priscilla was badly wounded. The case, involving wealth, sex, vengeance and murder has captivated Texas ever since. Not least because T. Cullen Davis, Priscilla's husband, has been for many years the principal suspect. Greg is the author of the book "Texas Tragedy: The Story of Priscilla Davis. A True Story of Money, Murder and Survival". Publicly, Priscilla lived an extravagant life of glamour and philanthropy, from building and living in the famous and opulent Stonegate Mansion, to her trendsetting fashions of the day. Our guest today is Vianna von Weyhausen, a remarkable wildlife conservationist whose work stretches from the plains of Africa to the forests of India, to the charitable foundations of the US. Vianna launched and runs Conservation Solutions International, which focuses on the transformational role of canine units in anti-poaching and wildlife trafficking. Her dogs are trained to work with rangers, detecting poachers and protecting endangered species. Vianna shares her encounters with rhinos, elephants, and hippos, highlighting the brutality of killing and trading parts of endangered species in Africa, India and beyond, for lucrative financial rewards. Some individuals who specialize in wildlife trafficking are increasingly involved in human trafficking, also. She advocates for anti-trafficking initiatives, and describes her successful fundraising campaigns with supporters and foundations who are passionate about conservation work. And she talks about how we can all help. The warehouse on the family's rural property quickly became her office, and she withstood a legal "patent" challenge to sell huge ranges of alternative drink holders. She joins Liss'N'Kristi to recount her journey from making state-themed shirts to her success on the TV Show "Shark Tank" - after she'd already made a small fortune from her business. She recounts her nervousness at pitching to the Sharks, and the challenges of scaling a small Texas-town business to a 7,000-square-foot global operation. Today we meet the effervescent Kim Harmon Gatlin, a Dallas native and author of the bestseller "Good Christian Bitches," which led to the ABC TV series. Kim opens up about the book's inspirations, rooted in her own experiences of high-society Dallas, and how her divorce from Rudy Gatlin of the Gatlin Brothers fueled her creative process. We swap outrageous stories about Dallas society, from the social expectations to the underground dating and hook-up scene. Kim tells us about her latest project: investigating a notorious murder and trial in Dallas, which Kristi says pre-empted the city's "decadent eighties".
