Episode 16 see's us sitting down with Richy B of Episide 12 fame for a threeway conversation, discussing our freezing session a couple weeks back at Daymer Bay in Cornwall and leading into many different winging conversations. Harnesses - yay or nay? Maybe super useful when its sub 10 degrees water and air temperature.... What Safety techniques do we use for ditching kit when having waves crash on us? Rich's thoughts on the Smaller board debate after listening to Episode 14 What're these new MA wings about? Hard or Soft Handles on wing and our thoughts on them Is Richy gonna be loving the Downwinding? We've dubbed ourselves the Wang Lordz, and merchandise will be coming soon. It's stupid, but so are we. We'd like to get Rich on the podcast every now n again to have a general chin wag about the foil industry and whats going on, so look out for any episodes titled anything 'Wang Lordz' related. Otherwise we've got a growing list of people we'd like to interview and even a few people reaching out to us - so expect to see more of a routine of interview one week, Liam and Myself the next. The episodes dissecting some techy side of the industry haved proven to be super popular (think HM masts in Ep13 or fuselage sizes in Ep10) Until next time - check us out on instagram and facebook and give us a like, share, subscribe on any of the podcast platforms you use https://www.instagram.com/genericfoilingpodcast/ https://www.facebook.com/genericfoilingpodcast

What's good trainers, welcome back! On today's episode, the Lordz were tired. Legit tired. Pokemon Go Fest was exhausting. We either did not drink enough alcohol and/or caffeine throughout the entirety of the event. We discuss how our event played out in terms of shinies, raids, and Wailording about as we played both together and separately on each day. Plus, we discuss Roldy's relapse, an ice dinosaur thing neither of us could pronounce for some reason, the somewhat exciting TCG crossover, and we finally are somewhat excited about GBL again. That's pretty much it for today trainers, thanks for tuning in! Markin Out with High5Tom: Choppin it Up with the Godfather of guerrilla podcasting Jimmy Ferrari. Another podcast I found from the Gimmick Gang (if ya know ya know) and found Jimmy's podcast Mid 2017 and have been a loyal follower ever since. This was a big honor for me as JImmy has been a huge influence on me and my fledgling podcast "career" (hobby to be honest) and this first time I got to chop it up with him "in person/zoom" and this went all over the place as I had expected it to. With faulty internet connections and all, your Sports Lordz have returned with an all new episode! Please be aware we have some audio hiccups in this episode as the internet was working inefficiently for one of your Lordz. But we powered through and have another classic episode in store for you. This week we begin by discussing some tabloid romances, ponder joining a new, hip band not started by a creep and almost murderer of a president. We then look back at the not so great NFL wildcard weekend, look ahead to there divisional round and wonder why athletes in commercials want to stiff the average person so much. It's an honor and a privilege to welcome accomplished journalist, author, and rap podcast OG SHAWN SETARO, a reporter at Complex, to Episode 052. Setaro has a brand new book on the shelves this week, about the sordid saga of Tekashi 6ix9ine. He's the writer and reporter on the podcasts 'Infamous' (about Tekashi), 'Complex Subject: Pop Smoke'. He's written about music and culture for Forbes, The Atlantic, Vibe, The Source, GQ, Esquire, The Sondheim Review, and more. Setaro was Editor-in-Chief for Rap Genius, and hosted the iconic rap pod The Cipher, an encyclopedic hip-hop program featuring deep dive interviews with 250 legendary figures in the culture. The Cipher was among the biggest influences and inspirations for The Upful LIFE Podcast, and in this interview, you will see the parallels and find out just why I revere “Same Ol' Shawn” the way I do. 8:00 - RIP GREG TATE. (tributes from Questlove & Jay Smooth) 18:30 - Introducing SHAWN SETARO & a lil' about the Tekashi 6ix9ine story 30:00 - Interview - SHAWN SETARO Setaro is the author of the fantastic new book Complex Presents Dummy Boy: Tekashi 6ix9ine and the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, his first. We discuss this extremely shocking tale, his process reporting the story, and unpack the project at large. In tracing Tekashi 6ix9ine's life - from Bushwick to the heights of the rap scene - Setaro illuminates the story of the young rapper who forged an alliance with a notorious street gang to bolster his image and boost his internet clout. More than a biography, Dummy Boy is an American crime story, a critical examination of internet trolling in the Trump era, and an exploration of the long-running connection between rap, gangs, and police in New York City. In this conversation we touch Shawn's career journey into journalism and podcasting, plus the violent/criminal nature of drill rap culture, how it finds its way into the mainstream music culture. Shawn Setaro is a man of many talents in the musical sphere; in addition to his journalistic accomplishments, he's is also a Berklee-educated bassist and guitarist who has recorded and performed with The Dresden Dolls, Amanda Palmer, the Lordz of Brooklyn, Alina Simone, and others BUY HIS BOOK! Getting it done by any means necessary, by hook or by crook. That is the Brooklyn way. Hear a true 'rags to riches' story as Kevin catches up with a long-time friend and renowned Brooklyn artist, Michael McLeer, better known as Mr. Kaves. Mr. Kaves grew up on the streets of Brooklyn trying to figure out how to use his creativity and artistic skill to make a name for himself. He achieved large fame as a graffiti artist before turning his attention to MC'ing and rapping as the frontman for the Lordz of Brooklyn. After a few years on the Warped Tour and the loss of his mother and sister, Mr. Kaves realized he was growing out of the scene and turned his attention to starting a tattoo parlor and a pizza shop in Brooklyn. Since getting off of the road, Mr. Kaves has continued with his art and recently found 7-figure success after partnering with Doodle Labs on an NFT project titled ‘The Family Mooks.' Kevin also gets a word from Mr. Kaves' long-time wife and partner, Donna, as well as an explanation from the founder of Doodle Labs, Matthew Dweck, on why he wanted to partner with Mr. Kaves in the first place. Featuring: Michael McLeer (@MisterKaves) - Lordz of Brooklyn Frontman Donna McLeer (@DonnaMcleer) - Art Director, Editor Matthew Dweck (@MattDweck) - Founder of Doodle Labs

What do we say at the beginning of these things again? Oh yeah, WHAT'S UP, Skaters?! On this episode we discuss the skateboarding film Lords of Dogtown (no Z). Kyle Beachy (book author), Ted Schmitz (show notes author), and Tim Ward (not at all an author, but he's on another podcast, so that counts for something?) look at the the general failing of skate films by taking apart the characters and story presented in this strange studio feature. How it got made, we may never know, but maybe there was a market maybe? If you liked the film, that's fine; it's good to have joy where you can. We, however, did not enjoy it. And you can hear all about it. We don't really do the timecode thing, but maybe it'll help guide you through this one: 00:00:00 - Cold Open (we do these instead of skits because, the skits weren't funny and they took too long) 00:00:30 - Cold open ends and we hear a nice intro song by Roar 00:01:00 - Introducing the podcast cast 00:04:00 - Introducing the film cast. It's not looking good 00:05:00 - Start talking about the movie. Bummer 00:05:30 - Nothing improves, massive problems exposed 00:05:31 — 01:03:00 - The bad things are discussed 01:08:25 - Tim brings up a trick challenge That's basically it.
On this episode of FIVE DOLLAR BUZZ, the Buzzards get down with hardcore punk rock drummer Walter "Monsta" Ryan and his good friend, and ours, John Stewart. Walter is the seminal journeyman drummer and is featured in bands such as Burnt Offerings, Chronic Plague, Paranoia, Decayed, Possessed, Bonecrusher, Machine Head, Powerhouse, Madball, Lordz of Brooklyn, Subzero, Doomsday Device, Cromags, Merauder, Murderer's Row and D.R.I. John joins in the conversation from the "mean streets" of Marin County and explains his near lifelong friendship with Walter. He might also be secretly shepherding a gaggle of geese in his house. We'll let you decide. They both give a vivid depiction of the hardcore punk scene from the mid-80s until now from the inside out and what it means to be part of a community. This episode is real inside baseball but it's a fascinating portrait of a seldom explored cultural genre. This is a mad sick episode full of enough variations of the word "fuck" to give Scorsese a run for his money. So light one up, put some cans on your ears, and thrash about the room as we explore the world of hardcore "muthafuckin'" punk. It's mad crazy, yo. If you have any questions or comments or have any ideas for future guests and topics please email us at FIVEDOLLARBUZZ@gmail.com. It might take a second because we're in the bathroom trying to get ears to stop bleeding...

Against all odds your Sports Lordz are back with our 100th episode! We celebrate hitting the century mark by recording and releasing the longest and most self-serving episode yet. Throughout the episode we are joined by old friends and guests of the pod, the crew of our “sister podcast”, and an unbelievable reunion many have been waiting for. At points of this epic episode, we do discuss some sports including the NBA player's strike, the playoffs, James Harden, and the MLB trade deadline, but this is mostly a laid-back hang sesh episode. We're first joined by our old pal from episode 40 Eli Itzkowitz (3:26) and then friend/enemy of the pod from episodes 21 and 81, Jack Daly (24:01) drops in to be cancelled. At points of this epic episode, we do discuss some sports including the NBA player’s strike, the playoffs, James Harden, and the MLB trade deadline, but this is mostly a laid-back hang sesh episode. We’re first joined by our old pal from episode 40 Eli Itzkowitz (3:26) and then friend/enemy of the pod from episodes 21 and 81, Jack Daly (24:01) drops in to be cancelled. Then we are joined by Rus Ryan, Drea Mora, and Rob Okey, better known as the Unbelievers Podcast (33:49) along with Aaron Schilb (47:06) and we catch up with them and see how Hellworld is treating them. Your Sports Lordz are still alive and back with an all new episode! This week we start the show by talking some baseball since it probably won't be here for much longer. We get into the Cardinals Covid-19 issues, how the Marlins being irresponsible got them all sick, Yoenis Cespedes and Lorenzo Cain opting out, the Braves domination of the Mets (the only normal thing happening), Trump's first pitch lie, and the increasing number of injuries in MLB. We then talk NBA as Diego is VERY excited the NBA is back with lots of good games and lots of good social messaging. We then talk some NFL as their season seems questionable at best, lots of players are opting out immediately, and Eagles head coach Doug Pederson already has Covid-19. We then talk more ‘rona, Pac-12 players uniting for good and hopefully being the catalyst to changing the NCAA system, fans returning to stadiums in other parts of the word, give some Lordz advice, and laugh at Eric Trump's utter stupidity. Remember serfs, masks and washing hands work to minimize risk especially now that the pandemic continues to wreak havoc on our stupid country. Keep being good to one another and keep staying alive, fam! This episode brought to you by Toiletcorp.com. It's a real thing.Follow us on twitter, Instagram and Twitch @SportsLordz

This week, we all give our quarantine updates, Jimmy shares the real tragedy that has befallen him, and Kevin has been composing and putting out a bunch of quarantine jams. We each list and talk about some of favorite sports movies and also let you know what is available for streaming now to pass the time through this quarantine. The college football season comes to an end and your Sports Lordz are back with a special National Championship episode! We're recording the same night as the LSU Tigers face off against the Clemson Tigers and you'll get to hear our predictions, takes, and decent into madness as we stay up watching the game and consuming “Diet Pepsis”. But before all that, we start by looking back at the week in sports and a rundown of the NFL Divisional Playoff round, which was once again wild with the 49ers thumping the Vikings, the Titans pulling of a titanic upset, the Chiefs going wild against the Texans after digging a deep hole for themselves, and the Packers outlasting the Seahawks. We then discuss if the NFL has a coach hiring problem (SPOILER: IT DOES!), and Antonio Brown's unhinged and sad meltdown. We then switch sports and discuss the cheating scandal that's becoming a major problem for Major League Baseball, highlighted by the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox, and we shout out the Atlanta Hawks Trae Young for his charitable work helping the citizens of Atlanta. We wrap up our first segment just before kickoff and review our picks for the game and make our final picks before the big one goes down in New Orleans. Later (49:26), we come back during halftime for a much looser segment where we give our first half takes and are joined via satellite by returning guests and head coaches Ed Orgeron and Dabo Swinney straight from the Superdome! The coaches tell us what hasn't worked in the first half, adjustments they need to make for the second half, and what plans they have for after the game. No one else has this kind of coverage other than your Lordz! We wrap up this episode at the conclusion of the title game and we give our sleepy takes on what went down and say goodbye to college football with one final collective DAB (1:01:52)! Congratulations to Coach O and LSU! This episode is sponsored by Dildos Anonymous! Sign up and get a new dildo every month!Follow us on twitter and Instagram @SportsLordz

It's been a truly difficult week for your Sports Lordz and this week's episode will serve as entertainment for you serfs, and therapy for your Lordz. We start with some truly great news as our own Jimmy O'Connell got hitched! After recapping the union of two wonderful people, we dive into the despair that we three Lordz live on a day to day basis: being fans of sports teams from the state Georgia. We start the episode by recapping the epic collapse of the Atlanta Braves and the fallout that has come from that nightmare of a series. We then shift to more bad news for Jimmy as we recap the upset of his beloved Georgia Bulldogs to unranked South Carolina and also take a look at what happened in college football this past weekend, including a rare win for Diego's Vols. Then we return to more losing as the Falcons put the shit cherry on top of a bad week with a loss that couldn't be more “Atlanta”, and end the saddest segment in our show's history by breaking down the Curse of the 96 Olympics and what that exactly means for us ad fans of Atlanta sports. We then shift to some less sad topics and add names to our “all-name list”, hand out a Lord of the Week, and discuss Lebron's bad take on the current NBA vs. China situation. Later, we are joined by the ghost of Richard Jewell, who tells us about his life, the afterlife, and why he's still cursing our beloved sports teams. Our cathartic therapy session ends in true Sports Lordz fashion with a new round of DABS!This episode is brought to you by Sports Teams in the State of Georgia: They bad!Follow us on twitter and Instagram @SportsLordz

Happy 4th of July Serfs! Even a national holiday couldn’t stop your Sports Lordz from cranking out another classic episode. This week, we get into tank ownership now that it’s legal and break down a lost episode of the Sopranos that many folks have never seen. Then we get into the week in sports and dive headfirst into NBA free agency, the Knicks losing out on everyone, and the Nets creating the next big bandwagon. Next we get into Major League Baseball, and recap our trips to Citi Field last weekend, the tough week for the Mets and their sad fans, as well as how baseball did in London. Was it truly a hit?We then anoint our Lords of the Week, and recap the USWNT run into the finals of the World Cup. The first segment wraps with a discussion of Joey Chestnut and competitive eating. It’s been a week full of championships and podcast champs, the Sports Lordz have got you covered. This week, the Sports Lordz discuss whether they should look into making an American reboot of Austin Powers starring announcer Herb Nerdsworth, and whether Herb is an actual HR nightmare. The Lordz reminisce about old baseball slobs, a dying breed in Major League Baseball today, and ask the Serfs to submit their favorite baseball slobs via twitter.com. Then the Lordz get into the NBA and discuss the Raptors winning it all, Anthony Davis moving to the Lakers, and the NBA Draft. After failing to do so the last few weeks, a very deserving Lord of the Week is crowned, and there is discussion into Drake’s gooberism. Diego also watched Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals and the Lordz discuss a little hockey. The conversation then shifts to the MLB, the Braves, and the outlook of the upcoming season, as well as Kevin revealing that he may or may not have met Jesus outside of his apartment. Later, the ghost of former Toronto mayor, Rob Ford, descends from heaven to the Sportatorium as he’s been celebrating the Raptors championship. Today, the Sports Lordz are joined by comedian, TV editor, Cadillac owner, and good friend of the show, Eli Itzkowitz. We get to meet Eli and his relationship with sports before diving into the NBA Finals. Should Kevin Durant have been allowed to play in Game 5? Are Raptors fans true dirtbags after their reaction to KD’s injury? Who’s going to win it all? Did Paul Pierce really poop his pants in a game? The Sports Lordz try to answer all these questions and more. Then we shift gears to discuss the Major Leagues, the Braves finally spending some money, and juiced balls making baseball more fun. Speaking of fun, the USWNT had a ton of fun during their first game at the World Cup. Later, the Sports Lordz and Eli recreate an episode of the classic comedy show, Cheers, solely based on the title. Find out if they got it right. To close, the Lordz introduce Eli to the art of the DAB! Today’s sponsor is John Kruk’s Cadillac Dealership in Columbus Missouri. Follow us on Twitter @SportsLordz
