It would finally be time to rank the most infamous episode of Star Trek: Voyager! That's right, it's Threshold! While we could fill an hour and a forty minutes talking about one episode, but rather than doing that we've decided to have some Trekxtra Curricular studies. As well as being the bestselling author of TekWars, William Shatner also released multiple albums. We decided to put ourselves through his first album, The Transformed Man. It was… quite an experience. You'll also get to hear how many comic-reading quests Charlie is taking and listen to two men with almost no experience of drugs try to figure out the best Star Trek episode to watch while under the influence. We also say “Flesh” too many times early on in the show in unpleasant ways. 02:00 What non-Trek thing we've been enjoying: X-Men ‘97, Flesh 15:42 Star Trek: Voyager “Threshold” 56:22 William Shatner “The Transformed Man” Talking points include: Godzilla is for everyone, X-Men ‘97, X-Men: The Animated Series, Put Dire Wraiths and Rom in X-Men ‘97 You Cowards!, X-Men: The Motion Picture, Flesh (I am so sorry for the moment of Flesh), 2000AD, Charlie's Comic Marathons, Charlie posing like Jeff Goldblum from that photo, Shako: The Only Bear on the CIA Death List, Miles' cunning trap, Neelix was assistant to the engineer, Dunking on Lovecraft, Cronenberging, HG Wells' The Time Machine, Miles could say pretty much anything about what happens on Blake's 7 and Charlie will believe it, Legion of Super-Heroes' Evolvo Lad, The Outer Limits, David McCallum, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Fly, naming your child Khaleesi, Only Fools & Horses, everything better that debuted at the same time as Shatner's album, Snoopy music, Leslie Nielsen, SNL skits, Andrew Ryan, Shatner trying to be a playful scamp, Shit my dad says, who would be a better Cyrano? Debs is a voiceover artist and comedy writer who although has only been in the VO industry for a little over 3 years, as Debs put it herself, she believes to have found her calling the moment she first stood in front of a microphone. As well as talking about Debs' humble beginnings as a VO, we also talk about a whole load of other subjects. Such as the usual tips and lessons she's learned along her journey so far, our fascination and admiration towards famous audio drama director Dirk Mags, her performance on Cryo Pod Tapes' Episode 21 Lone Orbit by Roger Ley, and the difference between bad script writing and good script writing, delving into detail while using examples from movies like Alien, Game of Thrones, and Transformers. There's that and more in this newest longest episode in Cryo Pod Tapes history, so we hope you enjoy it.If you enjoyed listening to this episode or the podcast as a whole, feel free to rate the show and share your thoughts. Are you trapped in an alternatve universe filled with grayscale cosmic horror? Are you being stalked by an ancient vampire who loves tall shadows and quirky antiques? Either way, we hope you're in the mood for some throwbacks this week as we unravel vintage conspiracies with "History of the Occult" (Argentina & Mexico, 2020) and play with "finger demons" with the deliciously campy "Bloodstone: Subspecies II" (Romania & USA, 1993). We also preview acclaimed foreign horror flicks "Huesera: The Bone Woman" (Mexico & Peru, 2022), "Project Wolf Hunting" (South Korea, 2022) and "Subspecies V: Blood Rise" (Romania & USA, 2023). As well as delving into Brad's colourful career, we hear the story of how he created his VO training platform, Wonderland VO. Which started out as an audiobook project of Alice in Wonderland, in support of the NHS during the first Covid lockdown. But... it's not one'a them Hama-esque Wolverine inventory stories... instead, it's actually paying off a relatively recent story thread outta the pages of X-Force!  Logan faces off with a semi-Lovecraftian Horror... and talks to himself.  I'm probably making it sound really awful, but I assure you - this is a goodie! And the art!  You definitely wanna see this art... which, as an audio product, I cannot help you with - but, please listen anyway! What is in a Name? Is it just an identifier or is it something's complete identity? Is something named nonsensically or was there a direct and ancient reason for that name? What happens if an extra-planar being or a supremely powerful sorcerer were to learn your name? What could they do with that power? Pick any point on a map. Why is it named as such? The 3-Piece-Chicken Tendies discuss naming as concerned with your Role Playing Games and story telling. They share stories and tips from their own experiences and also examine methods used by such esteemed authors as J.R.R. Tolkien, Ursula K. Le Guin, Patrick Rothfuss and George R.R. Martin.
