Shifting Gears at the Crossroads: How to Prepare for Disruption and Navigate Life's Major Transitions Wondering how can companies prepare for disruption — or to Transform Disruption Into Success? In Shifting Gears at the Crossroads, author DJ Hefflin shares a powerful, faith-based roadmap drawn from his own professional, personal, and ministry shifts. This book answers key questions like what do you mean by disruption, what's a positive word for disruption (think transformation, pivot, or breakthrough), and what's a professional way to say messed up when life throws curveballs. If you're facing a career crossroad, questioning what is considered a career path, or exploring what does career explorer mean, this guide is for you. The future of work demands preparing for disruption — only about 20% of people are financially ready for even a six-month shift, and far fewer see it coming. DJ Hefflin, through Crossroads Professional Building, Crossroads Professional Coaching, and Crossroads Professional Counseling insights, built this book on real experiences to help you thrive amid change. Why “Shifting Gears at the Crossroads” Was Written DJ Hefflin created this book to guide people through life's major transitions with a practical, step-by-step process for managing change and turning setbacks into setups for success. The Four Foundational “F's” The core revolves around balancing faith, family, fitness, and finances — like Jenga blocks holding up a stable life. When one wobbles (especially faith during tough times), the others can collapse, requiring intentional rebuilding. Repositioning: The Strategic Step Back Moving from disruption (point A) to your desired outcome (point B) often means a temporary "backwards" move — a repositioning investment in status or income that's essential for long-term growth, not failure. Anticipating Disruption Spot early signs by tracking current events, economic trends, industry changes, mergers, and personal signals like relationship quality, fulfillment, and communication patterns. Vision, Mission, and Core Identity Define your vision (long-term aspiration) and mission (daily actions). Write them down as an anchor during chaos to stay aligned and make better decisions. Service and Daily Introspection True success comes from serving others (sowing and reaping). Commit to 30 minutes of daily introspection, prayer, or meditation to connect actions to your bigger goals and boost productivity. What's Next: A Season of Acceleration DJ Hefflin's upcoming follow-up, Shifting Gears in the Crossroads: A Season of Acceleration, builds on this foundation. After repositioning, rebuilding, and realizing your potential, enter a phase of accelerated impact in your calling, society, and service to others. Ready to navigate your career crossroad with clarity and faith? Grab Shifting Gears at the Crossroads today and start preparing for whatever transformation comes next. Subscribe for more on the future of work, preparing for disruption, and career pivots. Comment below: What's your biggest current crossroad?

This podcast interview is a must-listen for anyone who is facing strategic, professional, or personal change and wants to navigate it with clarity, structure, and confidence. In his conversation with author and transformation expert Darryl J. Heffline, Niels Brabandt explores one of the most underestimated leadership challenges: recognising the need for change before disruption forces it upon you. Drawing on Heffline's book Shifting Gears at the Crossroads, the discussion goes far beyond motivational slogans and addresses the hard questions decision makers rarely ask early enough. When do warning signs become impossible to ignore. How do you distinguish comfort from stagnation. Why do capable leaders and professionals so often realise too late that their environment, business model, or role is becoming obsolete. The interview provides a structured, intellectually rigorous framework for understanding transformation. It walks listeners through the key stages of change: recognising the need, assessing the current state, defining a credible future state, building objective decision criteria, and managing the psychological barriers that prevent people from acting even when the evidence is clear. Real-world examples illustrate how technological disruption, automation, and shifting markets can render long-established roles and business models vulnerable, and why denial is often more dangerous than the change itself What makes this conversation particularly valuable for executives, entrepreneurs, and senior leaders is its realism. It openly addresses fears around loss of status, income, identity, and relevance. It explains why stepping back can be a strategic investment rather than a failure, how rebuilding and reemerging are natural phases of successful transformation, and how long-term leadership success depends on the ability to reposition before external forces make the decision for you. Listeners gain not only conceptual clarity, but also practical orientation: how to develop situational awareness, how to create robust criteria for major career and business decisions, how to reframe uncertainty, and how to turn disruption into a platform for renewed growth and strategic advantage. For anyone at a professional or organisational crossroads, this episode offers rare depth, intellectual honesty, and actionable insight. It is not about change as a buzzword. It is about change as a leadership responsibility. Welcome back to the Wildly Wealthy Woman Podcast. Today's Make It Happen Monday episode is all about something I didn't choose for 2026… it chose me. I'm calling this year my separation season — a season where I'm intentionally separating from what drains me and aligning with what multiplies me: my energy, visibility, impact, and abundance. This isn't about burning bridges, cutting people off, or becoming cold or disconnected. It's about discernment, leadership, and upgrading how you move. What Is a Separation Season? I first heard this concept from Ed Mylett, who explains that there are specific windows where you can separate from the pack and accelerate — not through force, but through focus. This season asks: What no longer matches the leader you're becoming? Where are you over-managing instead of making moves? What would change if you honored the transition instead of resisting it? The Stick Shift Metaphor (Why Slowing Down Isn't Falling Behind) In this episode, I share a metaphor that came up during my own tapping session: When you drive a stick shift, you don't just press the gas and magically go faster. You gear down first. There's a moment where things feel clunky. The engine sounds different. The movement isn't smooth. If you don't understand what's happening, you think something is wrong. But if you do understand, you realize:You're preparing to accelerate. That's what this season feels like in my body and my business. When the Nervous System Reacts to Growth As I shared honestly in this episode, growth doesn't always feel exciting in the moment. Sometimes it feels like: Fatigue Irritability Grief Resistance Old fears getting loud Not because you're doing something wrong — but because your system is recalibrating. I talk about the two parts of me I'm constantly integrating: The driven, fast-moving, masculine energy The body-led, intuitive, slower part that needs to be honored Leadership is learning how to let them work together, not letting one dominate the system. The Release–Receive Cycle in Business I also normalize something so many women experience but rarely talk about: There are seasons where offers complete.Payment plans end.People move out — and new people move in. Old survival parts can show up and say: “What if nothing else is coming?” But that voice belongs to an older season — not the one you're leading now. One of my favorite affirmations:More is always on the way. Identity Work, Astrology & Leadership Shifts I also share how this season connects to a deeper identity shift for me: Moving from customization → leading at scale From many pathways → fewer, clearer entry points From hand-holding → momentum and precision From pressure → alignment This is why tapping isn't just about calming down — it's about honoring the season you're in without making yourself wrong and reinforcing the identity you're stepping into. Journal Prompts From Today's Episode If you're in a separation season too, here's what I invite you to reflect on: What is draining me right now?(An offer, role, habit, relationship dynamic, or way of showing up.) What is multiplying me right now?(Momentum, income, impact — with less emotional labor.) What's one gear-shift action I can take today? One simple move that tells your nervous system it's safe to move forward. Small actions build trust with your body. Final Reflection If you weren't trying to manage everything this year…What would you build instead? You're not behind. You're not failing. You're shifting gears — and acceleration is coming. Share & Connect If this episode landed with you: Send it to a friend who's in a season of transition Share it on social media Leave a 5-star review — it means more than you know And come say hi over on Instagram — I'd love to hear what this season looks like for you. Thank you for being here, for leading yourself bravely, and for building your wildly wealthy life from the inside out. See you in the next episode.

Seann William Scott, Michelle Pfeiffer, Felicity Jones… and my dog Blue barging in for a potty break. Yeah, this episode is stacked. In this festive-yet-chaotic episode of Pop Culture Weekly with Kyle McMahon, I kick things off with my buddy Seann William Scott, a.k.a. Stifler, who's back to talk Season 2 of his Tim Allen sitcom Shifting Gears (now airing on ABC and streaming on Disney+ and Hulu). We get into everything from tortured Philadelphia Eagles fandom and awkward Thanksgiving family drama to what it's really like shooting a multi-cam sitcom in front of a live studio audience. Seann talks about working with Tim Allen (yes, America's TV dad), navigating punchlines around real-time audience laughter, the magic of shorter 13-episode seasons, and why this show feels like comfort-food TV that still lets him be home in time to pick up his daughter from school. He also teases his upcoming horror film Dolly, a brutal 16mm French-extremity-style shocker that horror fans are going to want on their radar. Then we go full holiday mode with screen legends Michelle Pfeiffer and Felicity Jones, who join me to talk about their new Prime Video holiday dramedy Oh. What. Fun. Michelle opens up about why she signed on to the film, working with director Michael Showalter, and how the movie doubles as a love letter to overworked, underappreciated moms everywhere. Felicity shares how the mother - daughter dynamic in the film mirrors real life, why the story balances emotional truth with big, messy, laugh-out-loud moments, and what makes this holiday movie feel a little less “perfect snow globe” and a lot more “this is what my family actually looks like.” Watch Oh. What. Fun. on Prime Video here!If you love celebrity interviews, holiday movies, sitcom deep dives, Shifting Gears, or just want to hear me quietly spiral about the fact that I just interviewed Michelle freakin' Pfeiffer, this one's for you.If you dig the show, subscribe, rate, and share - and tell your friend who's always stealing your streaming passwords.

As active members in our local communities, it is our responsibility to teach our youth what is safe and sound, especially when it is hard to advocate for safety over novelty. We have to be the wise ones to stand for the wellbeing of our children rather than caving to the pressures of others' weak opinions just because it is what the lazy masses are doing, or lacking doing more likely. We have to be the role model for our children that shows them they do not have to live or risk living only to impress others in dangerous ways as a means of fitting in and looking cool for a moment. As adults, we should be more impressed by those who act with respect and take responsibility for the future generations to learn from by example. As parents, we should be taking action in appropriate ways that allows us to remain in possession of our freedoms to govern our children however we so choose, rather than passing on those expectations to the government to create those laws and boundaries over our youth however THEY so see fit and then we all have to abide by their processes. We should want to rise up and take the responsibility to teach our children strong core values, such as the seriousness of human safety, especially within young bodies and minds that haven't fully developed into the ability to make those critical decisions for themselves yet in life. WE HAVE TO DECIDE FOR THEM. Does their safety concern you enough that you are moved to teach them the right thing to do, regardless of what others are lacking teaching their children? You need to be the one governing how you want your children to act based on your own actions and decisions. You have to lay down the right boundaries so that they will grow up knowing that healthy boundaries carry so much significance in how others will decide to treat them as well. You have to be the change and the sensibility when the rest of the world is operating from a place of either sheer laziness or panicked chaos. Be the rock they know will provide them the lessons they need to learn in life BEFORE the hard way teaches them, and possibly risks their lives in the process. What happens when you completely reimagine how a bicycle drivetrain should work? Steve Domahidy, founder of Viral Bikes, is betting that the future of cycling lies not with the 100-year-old derailleur technology we've all grown accustomed to, but with an internal gearbox system that promises to be virtually indestructible. From his new headquarters in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas, Domahidy shares the fascinating evolution of Viral Bikes—a boutique titanium bike brand that's spent nine years perfecting its revolutionary approach to mountain bike design. At the core of every Viral bike is a 12-speed internal gearbox that eliminates traditional derailleurs, cassettes, and chains, replacing them with a sealed drivetrain and Gates belt drive system. The result? Bikes that require almost no maintenance (just a 30-second oil change every 6,000 miles), offer incredible stability with centralized weight and deliver unmatched durability for everything from technical trail riding to remote bikepacking adventures.A New American Town is here to help you plan your trip to Bentonville, Arkansas. From guides, events, and restaurant highlights. Find all this and more at visitbentonville.com and subscribe to our newsletter. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn. Adam kicks off the show with actor Seann William Scott, diving into his latest ABC sitcom, Shifting Gears. The conversation quickly turns nostalgic as they revisit the comedy classic Windy City Heat before Seann shares behind-the-scenes stories from The Dukes of Hazzard—talking car stunts, working with Johnny Knoxville, and leaving Minnesota at the ripe young age of 18 to become a movie star. Things take a turn when Adam and Seann discuss the recent chaos in California, from the devastating Malibu wildfires to the wave of Tesla arsonists. With countless classic cars lost in the fires and electric vehicles being torched in protests, the past two months have been brutal for car lovers. Jake Steinfeld then joins the show with an unbelievable story—losing his home, a lifetime's worth of memorabilia, and, in what truly breaks Adam's heart, his Ferrari 550. But the real kicker? California's nightmare bureaucracy is stopping him from rebuilding. Adam and Jake go off on the state's insane permit process, red tape, and government inefficiency that keeps disaster victims in limbo. But in classic Body by Jake fashion, he refuses to wallow, preaching his lifelong mantra: DON'T QUIT!—he even casually mentions a run for governor. Could Body by Jake become California by Jake?
