The boys are back for Episode 63 after a small break talking latest MLS news and headlines. We talk with Jorge Gonzales (Topbin90) after news last week that Charlotte FC having sacked Head Coach, Miguel Angel Ramirez, and how the club now moves forward. We're joined by special guest, defender for Charlotte FC & Charlotte Independence, Koa Santos, as we discuss his career, his journey to the MLS, and much more. Tune in!
Head coaches are essential to a good team. You can have great players but without a great coach, it really is all for naught. Right now, the Hornets just concluded their lengthy search for a head coach. Per report, at 6:45 PM EST tonight, the Hornets have hired Kenny Atkinson. We have discussed how he isn't much different than James Borrego in terms of coaching offense. What could his upside look like and where will the Hornets go from there? Speaking of head coaches, a coach of a Carolina sports team was recently fired. Former head Coach of the Carlotte Football Club was Miguel Angel Ramirez. He was fired only halfway through the opening season due to "fratures" between himself and players; essentially, he was too headstrong for the position. They have now hired a new HC Christian Lattanzio. What will this team look like as they finish off the season and into the future? Looking at the NFL, there has been some recent controversy over a QB that Carolina was looking at getting back before the draft. Everyone in the NFL, especially those in Carolina are feeling like we dodged a bullet by having Watson pass us up. Our team is shaping up with new QB Matt Corral, OT "Ickey" Ekwonu, and many others. Finally, the NBA draft is coming up at the end of this month on June 23rd. The Hornets have the 13th overall first round pick at the moment. They have been holding workouts for multiple prospects, but who will they pick? Considering what they need as additions to this team, we need to nail this draft as we continue to build up this team. Thanks for tuning in to the Carolina Cast on IE Sports Radio! Talk to me on these socials with any thoughts or opinions you have about the topics tonight or any Carolina Sports news in the future!
