Mae'r ffilm du a gwyn hon yn dogfennu digwyddiad penodol i safle'r bryniau uwchben Solfach, Sir Benfro, ar draws y cei o'r Gribin. Wrth wneud Fflagiau Dros Solfach, roedd Davies wedi creu'r polion fflag fesul rhannau fel y byddent yn barod i'w cydosod yn ôl yr angen, a threuliodd wythnos yn eu rhoi yn nhirwedd Solfach mewn amrywiaeth o gyfluniadau. Ar ôl treulio rhan o'i blentyndod yn Solfach gyda'i dad-cu, mae'n hen gyfarwydd â'r lleoliad. Gan ddefnyddio fflagiau fel tirnod, archwiliodd y syniad fod perchnogaeth tir yn rhywbeth dros dro, gan hawlio safle am hyd pob ymyriad. O arwyddocâd diniwed fflagiau fel tegan i blant sy'n marcio cestyll tywod, sy'n cael eu llyncu gan y llanw, i oblygiadau glanio ar y lleuad, i edifarhau colli perchnogaeth leol ar hunaniaeth ddiwylliannol Cymru, a'r diymadferthedd sy'n deillio o hynny, mae'r gwaith yn cyfeirio at anghydfodau ynghylch perchnogaeth tir a'r gwrthrych fel dynodwr lleoliad. Mae craidd ei waith yn benodol i amser a lleoliad, gan ddefnyddio cyfryngau perfformio dau a thri dimensiwn. Mae ef hefyd yn archwilio'r gair ysgrifenedig, y gair llafar a'r gair ar ffurf delwedd. Ganed Davies yn Hwlffordd, sir Benfro ym 1960. Astudiodd Gelfyddyd Gain yn Ysgol Gelf Norwich a chwblhaodd MA mewn Materion Celfyddyd a Phensaernïaeth ym Mhrifysgol y Celfyddydau Creadigol yng Nghaergaint. Mae ef wedi gweithio mewn ystod o gyfryngau dros y 30 mlynedd diwethaf, gan arddangos a chreu gwaith yng Nghymru, y DU ac yn rhyngwladol. Mae ef wedi ennill llawer o wobrau, gan gynnwys gwobr cystadleuaeth agored Mostyn, y fedal aur mewn Celfyddyd Gain yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol ac un o brif wobrau Cymru Greadigol. Ef oedd yr artist cyntaf o Ewrop i gyrraedd rhestr fer Gwobr Celfyddydau Gweledol Artes Mundi a chynrychiolodd Gymru mewn sioe unigol yn Biennale Fenis yn 2011. Cafodd y ffilm Fflagiau Dros Solfach ei chaffael yn 2025 drwy wobr Wakelin, a roddir bob blwyddyn i artist sy'n byw ac yn gweithio yng Nghymru ac y prynir ei waith ar gyfer casgliad parhaol Oriel Gelf Glynn Vivian.

Ffilm 32 munud, 51 eiliad o hyd a wnaed gan José Alejandro Restrepo ym 1999 yw Paso del Quindío II. Mae'r ffilm yn ail-greu'r ‘carguero' olaf – pobl a oedd yn cario teithwyr Ewropeaidd drwy'r jyngl fynyddig anodd yn wreiddiol. Mae gwaith Restrepo yn ystyried y cysylltiadau pŵer cymhleth sy'n gysylltiedig â'r weithred hon o gario. Yn y ffilm, mae cymeriad gwrywaidd canolog yn dyfalbarhau'n dawel wrth iddo garo menyw ar ei gefn; mae hi'n eistedd ar gadair ‘guadua' (math o fambŵ) ac mae ei gefn ef ar ongl 60 gradd i'r ddaear. Mae'r gadair wedi'i chlymu wrtho â darn o ffabrig wedi'i lapio o dan y sedd ac am ei dalcen chwyslyd. Mae'r dyn canol oed yn berson o liw ac mae ganddo wallt byr du a llecyn moel. Mae'n droednoeth ac yn gwisgo trowsus byr gwyn a chrys T llwyd sy'n colli ei liw, gan ddal ffon bren denau hir er cydbwysedd. Mae'r fenyw sy'n eistedd hefyd yn berson o liw a chanddi wallt du byr ac mae'n gwisgo crys du â darnau patrymog amryliw, trowsus byr ac esgidiau glaw mwdlyd du. Meddai Restrepo, “Mae un o weithgareddau gorau hanes yn ymwneud â phwy sy'n llwyddo i osgoi deddfau cynrychioli a dehongli.” Yn 2007, cafodd arddangosfa Displaced, Contemporary Art from Colombia ei churadu gan María Clara Bernal a Karen MacKinnon a'i chyflwyno yn Oriel Gelf Glynn Vivian. Ochr yn ochr â darnau neilltuol eraill, roedd Paso del Quindío II yn ganolog, oherwydd pŵer ei ymagwedd ôl-drefedigaethol a'i ymgysylltiad â gwleidyddiaeth hunaniaeth ddiwylliannol. Mae ei waith yn archwilio hanesion gormes a gwrthsefyll sy'n llunio bywyd yn America Ladin, gan chwilio am ystyron newydd mewn naratifau gosod, a gofyn pa archifau gweledol a ddefnyddir i greu hanes – a pham. Roedd fersiwn gyntaf y gwaith hwn, Paso del Quindío I (Bwlch Quindío I) (1992), yn garreg filltir yn ei yrfa. Gan gynnwys 17 o sgriniau wedi'u trefnu ar lefelau amrywiol adeiledd pyramidaidd, dangosodd y gwaith ddeunydd o heic yr artist i fyny bwlch mynydd yn yr Andes ym 1991. Recordiodd y daith o uchderau gwahanol; mae rhai lluniau'n dangos cyflymder tawel, ond mae eraill yn cyfleu symudiad cynhyrfus rhywun ar y copa. Drwy'r esgyniad hwn, ail-greodd deithiau fforwyr Ewropeaidd y 19eg ganrif fel Alexander von Humboldt a Max von Thielman. Yn wahanol i'r fforwyr hynny, a gyflwynodd eu gwaith o safbwynt gwrthrychol, cydnabu Restrepo, er gwaethaf ei ymchwil hanesyddol a'i brofiad uniongyrchol, mai dim ond dehongliad arall mewn cadwyn hir, llawn “copïau o gopïau”, oedd ei brosiect.

Su nombre científico es Drosophila melanogaster y a pesar de ser tan distinta físicamente de nosotros, comparte cerca del 75% de los genes vinculados a enfermedades humanas. Desde que hace más de un siglo el estadounidense Thomas Hunt Morgan la eligiera como organismo experimental, este insecto ha permitido descifrar las leyes de la herencia, el desarrollo embrionario y las bases moleculares de enfermedades como el Alzheimer o el cáncer. Hemos entrevistado a Marco Milán, presidente de la Sociedad Europea de Drosóphila. Con Lluís Montoliu hemos comentado una estrategia desarrollada por investigadores estadounidenses para silenciar la tercera copia del cromosoma 21, lo que podría aliviar parte de los problemas de salud asociados al síndrome de Down. José Manuel Torralba nos ha hablado del informe SAPEA, un estudio encargado por la Comisión Europea para facilitar el desarrollo de los materiales más avanzados, como ionogeles para pieles electrónicas. Over 1.4 million pensioners unexpectedly received a tax bill last year, according to exclusive data shared with Money Box. The mutual life, pensions and investment firm Royal London says its research suggests more than two thirds of those who'd retired paid tax on their pension income last year. But, also, that 1 in 7 of those didn't expect to do so. Pensioners can pay tax on anything that counts as income if it goes over the personal tax free allowance of £12,570 a year. We'll discuss how that works.A record number of people in England and Wales who were overwhelmed by their debts took out what is called a debt relief order last year. DROs freeze people's debts for 12 months and then write them off. They're a cheaper, more straightforward alternative to bankruptcy although there are serious financial implications and strict criteria about who can apply for them. We'll find out more about what's behind that rise.Savings rates are still high but there's £300 billion in bank accounts earning nothing, what's behind that?And, unexpected mobile and broadband mid-contract price rises are now banned after a change by the regulator. Now the question I am going to ask you Stef is an entirely seperate question but is in spirit a follow up as it deals with the central issue of principles I had raised previously in the elephant man questions. The reason I ask this new question is because the following very real scenario I will be referring to involves yourself Stef in a very recent interaction here on Freedomain Locals. On a very recent call in with a German guy you asked the German guy what's the issue in regards to following principles. He said ‘It's hard'. I was very interested in hearing what he was referring to when he said ‘it's hard'. I think I know what he was referring to, I think he was referring to the fact that if you follow principles it will likely lead you nowhere in the modern world of women and relationships. Not to say I have a problem with the principles you advocate for Stef, but does following principles really lead to results in the modern world of dating & relationships? Let me give you evidence to back up my claim, evidence that you Stef I know are all too familiar with. Women as you are aware Stef are drawn to bad guys, jerks, even in some cases criminals. I don't have to remind you Stef the most popular book of all time with women is ‘50 Shades of Grey'. A book about a brutal arrogant jerk who blindfolds women and smacks them on the ass with a belt and wooden spoon. Additionally there is an old saying Stef women love drama and ‘you can make a woman feel anything, just don't make her feel nothing'. Now I get & fully understand the point of following principles that you advocate for Stef but in the face of all the evidence that suggests the average women isn't really looking for a guy with virtue who follows principles I do think you have to deal with those very real facts. I'm not saying following principles is guaranteed to lead to failure, it's possible this caller might find the unicorn who is not driven by drama and Mr. Grey bad boy energy, but on the balance of probabilities if he follows principles will he find this super rare woman? I don't think those odds are good, again in the face of all the competing evidence I have just stated Stef I think that is a very reasonable assertion to make. What I am referring to is practicality Stef. Is it practical for this German caller to follow principles when a lot of the evidence suggests women aren't searching for a man with virtuous principles, again on average, but as you said yourself Stef on your recent episode criticising long distance relationships ‘What makes you believe you would be the exception to the rule?'. Was it the practicality of following principles is what the caller was referring to when he said ‘it's hard'. I think so, when he compared your advice to other advice, advice from dating coaches who say women like jerks and bad boys and guys that don't care about them. Again Stef you can question the morals such advice giver gives out but in the face of all the competing evidence about ‘50 Shades of Grey' and women continually dating jerks and in some cases even in more extreme cases criminals you can't say such advice is not practical advice based on very common real world anecdotal evidence. I'm not contesting the value of the principles you preach Stef, I am questioning the practicality of applying those principles in the modern dating world. Just as I was not questioning whether dating a prostitute was generally a good idea or not in my elephant man example, I was questioning the ‘practicality' of following principles in the given elephant man scenario. I am now contesting the practicality of following principles in the face of all the evidence that shows women are attracted to domineering jerks. I'm not necessarily advising this caller to not follow principles either, but I do think the caller at least needs to understand and acknowledge why it's hard to follow principles - it's very simple, in general women like a bit of drama and a guy with a bit of an edge. The caller seemed very logical, rational and very calm and whilst I respect these personality traits - I will be frank a lot of women find this type of logical personality boring, so there are the challenges I think men like the caller is facing, and I am again not instructing this caller to follow principles or not Stef, I am just addressing what I think he was referring to when he said ‘it's hard', and if that was what he was referring to then I think another call in with that caller would be appropriate to address these very relevant issues in a world that is gradually descending into a haze of immoral people having relationships and children whilst people with principles just stand back on the sidelines with their principles. Now Stef I leave you with a Youtube video of a streamer named Casey Zander because I think he gives advice very different from yours Stef, & you can contest the morality of his advice Stef but it would be interesting Stef if you can contest the practicality of this guy's advice in the face of all the evidence that shows women like cocky arrogant pricks or at least a guy with an edge over a guy who follows principles and reason?If you are not restricted by an NDA or similar:Have any DROs reached out to offer you a position on their board of advisors; or, have you considered the endeavor yourself, maybe even as a philosophical Judge Judy show?

Nouvel épisode du design sur écoute, dans lequel je vais vous parler d'un objet complètement dingue..un objet 100% VIVANT et compostable : la Mycelium Chair du studio néerlandais Klarenbeek & Dros. Voilà un studio qui collabore avec des chercheurs, des architectes et des ingénieurs, qui croise plein de disciplines pour créer des objets avec des matériaux jusqu'ici pas ou peu utilisés, comme le mycelium. Vous ne devriez pas résister à allez voir la tête de ce fauteuil sur instagram.. Vous verrez qu'il ne ressemble a rien de ce que l'on connaissez déjà. Plus que jamais les designers nous invitent à nous questionner sur le « connu », sur le sens des pratiques habituelles. En parallèle du « reverse design » voilà un très bel exemple de bio-design, de bio fabrication.. un champ des possibles encore largement méconnu et sous-estimé !
