There are many ways to go. Most of us would like to think that we'll slip away in our sleep at a ripe old age, surrounded by family and loved ones. But some, misguided, adventurous fools, will die screaming while being nadgered by a shark, or fall head first into a one-way chasm of death. Not us. I can tell you that for nowt. So, while Dean scares us silly with the story of the Nutty Putty Caving Incident, the rest of us try to sort our Argonauts from our Titans, and wonder why anyone would so much as dip a toe into the ocean...EVER!So, get yourself a bigger boat, but whatever you do…Don't Go Outside!

Discovered in Utah County in 1960, Nutty Putty Cave quickly became a popular destination for amateur and professional cavers and spelunkers as a kind of bucket list cave of considerable difficulty. Despite its popularity, beginning in the late 1980s, the cave became notorious for the number of explorers who became trapped and required emergency assistance to escape its twisting, narrow, and poorly mapped passageways. In late November 2009, the inherent risk and dangers of Nutty Putty Cave made national news when twenty-six-year-old college student John Edward Jones became trapped upside-down in an uncharted and perilously narrow section of the cave. This episode covers two very tragic spelunking incidents. One occurred at the Nutty Putty cave and the other happened in a cave close by. On 17 August, 2005, 21-year-old Steve Hundley was having dinner with five of his friends, while discussing the legend of the secret cave near Brigham Young University. Supposedly in the back of this secret cave, a water tunnel led to a back room which was once a place for dark rituals and human sacrifice. Excited to know what's in there, the group decided to check it out. Unfortunately, things took a dark and unexpected turn... On the 24th of November in 2009, Jones became stuck upside down in the Nutty Putty Cave for over 25 hours until he finally passed away. El espeleólogo John Edward Jones de 26 años de edad se encontraba explorando la cueva del Nutty Putty por primera vez el 24 de noviembre de 2009, John quedó atrapado de arriba a abajo cuando se arrastraba a través de un estrecho túnel.

Can you think of a worse way to die than to be stuck in a cave? The Nutty Putty Cave was supposedly the best cave for beginners but not so much for one man. John Edwards Jones, a med student, husband and father would probably argue that statement if he could. Unfortunately, John lost his life in the Nutty Putty Cave and was been sealed up in the walls of this very frequented cave. Tune in to this week's episode to find out the terrifying details of what happened to John Jones.
It's annoying to have to watch the Olympics on delay. The Woodstock '99 documentary just kinda showcases how scummy the promoters were. We recap the Nutty Putty tournament. Plus, Cody hates our little bridge. Jason Klug stops in. And so much more on today's show!

Today, we're covering the scary true story of John Jones and the Nutty Putty Cave. This true horror story is utterly terrifying and will make you think twice before ever entering a cave. In 2009, John Jones entered the Nutty Putty Cave only to be sealed inside forever. He became trapped while attempting to crawl through a particularly difficult section of the cave. Search and rescue quickly jumped into action, toiling away for hours trying to free John Jones to no avail. To this very day, John Jones is still inside the Nutty Putty Cave where he will remain forever. This disturbing story serves as a warning to be extremely careful if you ever decide to enter a cave, but after watching this video, you may never want to ever again anyway. hire me as your voice over artist on fiverr - https://www.fiverr.com/share/DwyLbA --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/atruecrimepodcast/message
In today's episode we tackle another underrated item off my list, spend some time telling one of the most tragic unsettling true life stories I've ever heard and then continue the discussion around the big move my family is making as I walk you through some of my thoughts as a dad having to say a temporary goodbye to his only daughter. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/paul-deleon8/support
It's going down! This week, the Fang Girls review the claustrophobic cave flick, The Descent. Emily tells Devyn about a horrific real life spelunking nightmare in a cave called Nutty Putty. The girls discuss the terrifying setting of a cave in the movie. Shockingly, it does not take long for the joke to turn sexual when discussing tight passageways and damp, dark spaces. Also, Devyn calls out Emily for a wardrobe malfunction. How bad does the creepy cave chaos ruin the girls lives? Listen in to find out!
John loved spelunking with this family. His father frequently took him and his brother, Josh, on caving expeditions in Utah when they were kids. At the time of the accident, John was 26 and studying to become a pediatric cardiologist, had recently become a father, and his wife was pregnant with their second child. His brother Josh who was following him inside the cave was the first one to find John. Anxious of how much the rock had swallowed John, Josh tried to pull him out but only managed to inch him up a little. As soon as he let John go, he slid right back into the crevice. John was stuck with one hand pinned underneath him, and the other forced backward. His ankles and feet were free but were of little use as gravity pushed him down.
We kick this weeks podcast off with a quick message from Tharun Chelley over at the "Total Obvious Comedy" podcast. Then we get going with the first story of the week, the JFK assassination. Does new evidence prove that Lee Harvey Oswald couldn't have fired the third and fatal shot? (Yes) And what do you do when the evidence points to the people whose job it is to protect the president with their life? We take a look at the undeniable physical evidence and the odd behaviour of the secret service before, during and after the assassination...were the killers in plain sight all along?Secondly, Aaron presents the tragic story of John Jones who became stuck while exploring a small tunnel in the dangerous "Nutty Putty" cave system and the brave men and women who risked their lives in an attempt to save him, A story so powerful that it inspired a movie based on its events; The Last Decent. The Kd and Kersey Podcast is brought to you by our sponsors; Nobodys Priority Clothing. This time, Sparkie and Thomas discuss the very upsetting tale of John Jones in the Nutty Putty Cave. Liberal use of the word "spelunking," lots of "nope"s, and Sparkie reaches her emotional limit. Not for the faint of heart. Wasn't this supposed to be a comedy podcast? Oops.
