Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. On this week's edition of Line Drive Radio, Tab and Paul did their best to not be too corny when discussing the Field of Dreams game between the Cubs and Reds in Iowa. While the teams won't be as competitive as last year's edition between the White Sox and Yankees, the nostalgia the game - and location - provide is still iconic and exciting. The boys also walked around the league and gave some flowers to the Baltimore Orioles, who weren't supposed to be a contending team (yet) this season but are now tied for a wild card berth. Who would have thought the Baltimore Orioles would be fighting for a playoff spot in 2022? The playoff races have also been costly to some, including now-former Detroit Tigers GM Al Avila who lost his job this week. We discuss which other GMs might feel the seat heater turning on as the season continues. Stay tuned for this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week! And, as always, play ball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Welcome back, baseball fans! After Tab spent a week in beautiful Cooperstown, the boys are back on the mic talking all things baseball. After the Mariners kicked off the trading frenzy with a late Friday night blockbuster deal to acquire Luis Castillo from Cincinnati, the guys talked about how teams will approach the trade deadline on Aug. 2 and which teams need to go for it. They also spent a little time as dads discussing the joys of watching their sons play the game. After the tournament in Cooperstown was the climax to his son playing with a great group of boys for four years, Tab shared how much the game can mean and how the relationships off the field can mean more than the wins, home runs and strikeouts. Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Welcome to July, where most teams are crossing the mid-way point of the 2022 season. The guys look at an updated Top 100 prospects list, discuss the dominance of Miami's Sandy Alcantara and give the Astros some flowers for their recent run of incredible play. This week's good goes to Tab's preseason American League Rookie of the Year pick, Julio Rodriguez. He's absolutely crushing the ball right now and making history along the way. Could he be a 30-30 guy as a rookie? It's looking increasingly likely. The bad this week discusses the Mets inability to run away with the National League East -- again. Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Welcome to June, where All-Star ballots are available and managers start getting fired. After discussing the nice, new deal Houston gave Yordan Álvarez and the impressive improvement from Seattle's stud rookie Julio Rodríguez, the guys spent some time on the two major league managers who filed for unemployment in the last week. On our previous show, the Phillies were The Bad because of their brutal stretch of play and Joe Girardi being on the hot seat. Well, Girardi got canned and the Phils haven't lost since. So we tip our cap to them as this week's The Good. The Bad this week is the Angels, who let Joe Maddon go after losing 12 straight games (now 14). Things are bad in Anaheim, but - as we said last week with the Phillies - is it the manager's fault or the roster he's been given that doesn't work? And what will they do for a permanent manager in both Philadelphia and Los Angeles of Anaheim? Stay tuned for this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.

Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Welcome to June! The calendar has moved to the third month of the MLB season and we're starting to see some teams heating up. Toronto is hot, winners of seven straight and trying to chase down the Yankees. And the balls were flying in Denver in a double-header on Wednesday that produced 40 total runs. Tab and Paul spent some time in the state of Pennsylvania this week for the good and the bad. The good this week has been the bad more frequently than we would like to admit, but when the Pirates go into Dodger Stadium and sweep a three-game set with the Dodgers we have to give them their flowers. Good for you, Bucs! On the flip side of the page, the Phillies are a dumpster fire and manager Joe Girardi's seat is warming. Should he be the scapegoat for their problems? Should the GM bear the blame for their flawed roster? Or do they need to consider big moves after going all-in this past winter? Stay tuned for this week's fantasy add of the week. As always, play ball! Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Youth Gone Wild, Drama in the Bronx, Parity .vs Mediocrity and is Bryant a Bust? On this week's episode, the guys jump in to discuss the young faces making an impact around the American League. Adley Rutschman, Bobby Witt, Jr, Spencer Torkelson and Julio Rodríguez have had their share of ups and downs, but the top four preseason prospects in baseball are making their presence known. Fans in Baltimore, Kansas City, Detroit and Seattle should be buying tickets just to see these young guys play now and into the future. The flip side was in New York, where the Yankees continue to dominate but drama has crept into their season. Injuries piled up this week in the wake of the Josh Donaldson-Tim Anderson feud and the story of the 2022 Pinstripes took a left turn. How will Donaldson reconcile his comments in the clubhouse? And how will they perform with so many key players on the shelf? Stay tuned for this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Salute to our service members and enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend! Line Drive Radio - Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Welcome to the middle of May, baseball fans! For some teams - especially in New York - the year has been a fun start. For others, it hasn't been great. Tab and Paul jump off to start the week discussing youth baseball culture and then turn their attention to the Cincinnati Reds, who threw a no-hitter - and lost... to the Pirates. The guys also discuss the ugly injury to Houston's Jake Odorizzi on Monday night and Kansas City's decision to make a change on the bench, firing their hitting coach (yes, Terry Bradshaw. No, not that Terry Bradshaw). This week, the good is a celebration of Cubs' backstop Willson Contreras reaching the 100 home run plateau in his career. He's only the third Cubs' catcher to reach the mark, and did it with a grand slam on Monday night. The four-run jack capped an 8-run inning for the Cubs; Contreras became the first player in more than 60 years with a grand slam and another extra base hit in the first inning of a game. The bad looked at the struggling offense in Toronto. No, not the Maple Leafs - the Blue Jays have been surprisingly underwhelming this year. In a tough American League East, they need to get on track before the Yankees run away and the Rays separate themselves in the playoff race. Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there who are keeping kids on the diamonds across this beautiful country! In this week's episode of Line Drive Radio, Tab and Paul chat about Dusty Baker's milestone, the Yankees chugging beverages at a playoff hockey game and an umpire with too much hubris making a scene. The good this week was the remarkable, unprecedented performance by Shohei Ohtani in Boston on Thursday. Want history? He made a lot of it in arguably his best pitching performance as a major leaguer. The bad was pretty easy to find: it's in Cincinnati, and it's baaaad. The Reds are off to a historically bad start this season. Is there an end to their putrid play in sight? And who's fault is it that they're this bad? Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Line Drive Radio roles into the end of April with a bang! This week the boys got out the Festivus pole and aired some grievances. The Yankees' letter was released, the Mets and Cardinals threw baseball - and hands - and players are complaining about the consistency and quality of the baseball. What gives? Not everything in the game is bad, however. Ronald Acuña Jr. returned for Atlanta on Thursday, but we had to grab a tissue when Willson and William Contreras shed a tear or two exchanging the lineup cards before the Cubs and Braves took the field. And in Minnesota, the Twins have been red hot lately and have taken control of the American League Central. Who's this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week? Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Robert KuneyThe Honchos returned after taking a well-deserved Spring Break vacation. The Honchos recounted their vacations and then skewed really old with some chatter about the Monkees and Carole King before transitioning to Who Wore It Best? This is episode 58, so we paid tribute to another famous 58, former Red Sox, Phillies, and Nationals relief pitcher Jonathan Papelbon. The Honchos finished the opening segment with another batch of headlines that included cats as weapons, bad neighbors, and Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter (he just outbid Paul for the little blue bird). The NFL Recap focused on the upcoming NFL Draft and how it is Christmas in April for Rob. The conversation focused on what teams look for in the draft, best player available or need, and why the so-called experts focus so much on Combine measurables and ignore how they perform at game speed. The Honchos checked in on the USFL as well and whether this will be the Spring league to survive. SPOILER ALERT! It will not.The NHL/NBA/MLB segment opened with a salute to two NHL legends the world lost recently, Mike Bossy and Guy Lafleur, and the dynasties they represented. The Honchos also wound down the NHL regular season before moving on to the NBA. It was all Brooklyn Nets talk in the NBA portion because for a team that was swept out of the playoffs they seem to be the number one story in basketball. A very brief look at the MLB focused on Miguel Cabrera's 3,000th hit and the exclusive club that he has joined and the San Diego Padres opening the door for advertising on the uniforms. The Honchos may have had some jet lag after two weeks off, but there was enough energy to end like they always do with the Dope of the Week. This week's winner was Rob Manfred, the alleged commissioner of Major League Baseball. Follow everywhere @sportshonchos.
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab BamfordWe're now two weeks into the 2022 MLB season and we've seen some exciting performances on the field. The Cleveland Guardians are in first place, the New York Mets are the first team to reach 10 wins and four of the five teams in the National League West have won at least eight games entering Friday. There's been plenty of big scores and fun performances already this year!Tab and Paul dig in and discuss the greatness of Miguel Cabrera as he approaches 3,000 career hits. How exclusive is the company he's in? The number of other players who have done what he's accomplished in the big leagues is incredibly small. The respect for Miggy is universal -- to the point that Aaron Boone didn't want to let him try for his 3,000th hit with the game on the line in the eighth inning in Detroit on Thursday. The guys have thoughts on Boone's free pass... They also spent a few minutes discussing the ugly situation in Oakland. The A's had less than 6,500 fans at two home games this week -- total. With ownership flirting with moving the team to Las Vegas and the front office trading away their best players once again this winter, can you blame the fans for not showing up or paying for tickets? Does this situation have a resolution in Oakland or does a divorce need to happen? Hang with us for Tab's fantasy add of the week at the end of the show. Which first baseman should you keep an eye on to help your offense? Thank you for listening.Follow everywhere @linedriveradio
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Welcome to the regular season! We're almost a full week into 2022 and there have been some remarkable performances. On this week's show, the guys dig in and discuss Aaron Judge's decision to turn down a massive contract offer from the New York Yankees. Was he wise betting on himself? Or should he have taken the money?Paul and Tab also look at the terrific starts from a couple young players who are making waves in Cleveland and Chicago. Some of the new names in MLB have been better than advertised. And, as always, Tab offers his Fantasy Add of the Week. Which Minnesota Twin should you consider for your fantasy team? Thanks for listening! Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Robert Kuney.Happy April everybody! New month, new showgram. As Spring Break approaches for the Honchos, the guys talked about their Spring Break plans, toilet habits, and Paul's new Bryan Adams tribute band. That was merely the warm-up for the everyone's favorite new segment, Who Wore It Best? This is episode 57, so we paid tribute to another famous 57, former Twins and Mets pitcher Johan Santana. The Honchos finished the opening segment with a rousing Headlines segment featuring Australian vasectomy trends, chicken tender 911 calls, and uncomfortable passenger behavior on Southwest airlines. In the NCAA segment the Honchos did their usual thorough breakdown of Kansas's 72-69 win over UNC in the NCAA Championship, as well as a shout out to South Carolina's victory over UConn in the women's tournament. The Honchos even squeezed in the winner of the Famous Alumni Bracket (still not on Twitter), Paul Rudd from the University of Kansas. The NFL Recap only had one story, and of course it had to be about the Washington Commanderskins. This time it was alleged financial improprieties that if true, may be the death knell for team owner Little Danny Snyder.Lot of hoops talk in the NHL/NBA/MLB segment, as well as a look at the NHL playoffs, the final update for the Ingleside Lakers as they were finally eliminated from playoff contention, Ben Simmons still not playing for Brooklyn, but finding time for a grievance against the Sixers, and a peek at the newest members of the Basketball Hall of Fame. With Opening Day coming up in the MLB this week the Honchos rolled out their 2022 MLB preview with picks and nuggets, and a look ahead to some technology changes for 2022.The Honchos could not leave for their Spring Break yuks without first dropping a new Dope of the Week. Episode 56 - Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Robert Kuney. They say that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Well, friendos, the Honchos came in like a lion this month and will go out like a lion – Dan Campbell to be exact. This was a big week in the entertainment world (more so than the sports world) so the showgram opened with celebrity talk – the passing of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, and the health-related retirements of Phil Collins and Bruce Willis from concerts and acting respectively. The Honchos really felt their age with that news. This is a wacky, feel-good show, however, so in that vein they turned their attention to the “Who Wore It Best?” segment featuring, in honor of the 56th show, legendary New York Giants linebacker, Hall of Famer Lawrence “LT” Taylor. The Honchos went back to the entertainment well for the Headlines segment as they dissected the “Slap Heard Round the World” at the Oscars, as well as a story about repaying debts to your drug dealer with nudity and shocking news about where Brits enjoy snacking. Here is a hint – it ain't in in the kitchen! There are four teams left in the NCAA tournament so after some post-Gonzaga therapy for Rob, there was a thorough breakdown of the Final Four and even a prediction or two. Spoiler Alert! It is Duke for the win. They even had time to give everyone an update on the Famous Alumni bracket. There is never an off-season in the NFL so there was plenty of news to discuss this week. There was breaking news tonight about Bruce Arians stepping away as coach of the Bucs, the new playoff OT rules, changes to the Rooney rule, Roger Goodell's plans for Deshaun Watson (yes, we are still talking about him), and Rob gave all 8 USFL fans a preview of the 2022 season (not really). The pickings were mighty slim in the NHL/NBA/MLB cupboard tonight, but the Honchos found one crumb to chew on. They kicked around the nutty idea to extend the NHL salary cap into the playoffs. In honor of the Detroit Lions being chosen for this year's “Hard Knocks” on HBO, and Detroit being named host city for the 2024 NFL Draft, the Honchos replayed a classic DOTW featuring Lions head coach Dan Campbell. Episode 55 - Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Robert Kuney.Spring has finally sprung and so too have the Honchos for another pastoral Wednesday feast of sports and other stuff. The Honchos put on their pastel finery tonight and talked about movies, the lifting of the vaccine mandate in New York, and the horror that is Peyronie's disease (don't ask). The Honchos shook that off and gave us the always sunny “Who Wore It Best?” segment featuring, in honor of the 55th show, a great (but not Hall of Fame worthy) player who also wore number 55. The mystery guest wearing 55 was former MLB pitcher Orel Hershiser of the Dodgers, Indians (yes, Indians) and the Mets. Before turning to the sporty part of the showgram there was time for a few Headlines about the dangers of drugs (and the people that take them) – inhaling deodorant, hiding drugs by consuming them, calling the police to verify the quality of drugs, and ironically-shaped edibles courtesy of Mike Tyson. It would not be spring without a thorough review of the smoldering wreckage that is our collective brackets and an update on the Famous Alumni bracket. Spoiler alert! Not great, Bob!Everyone but the Honchos were involved in an NFL trade this week, so the NFL Recap was all about old faces in new places. Watson to Cleveland, Ryan to Indy, Adams to Vegas, Hill to Miami, and the strange journey of Malcolm Butler ends where it began, in New England. The Honchos wrapped the pro football stuff with some hot USFL talk including some of their wackier rules. The NHL/NBA/MLB segment focused primarily on a review of the NHL trade deadline. Who made moves and who stood pat? The Honchos laid to rest the Ingleside Lakers update (at least until the playoffs), examined the money thrown at MLB free agents. discussed the new rules in MLB this season, Trevor Bauer in the cooler, Max Scherzer done with labor negotiations, and even asked why Rob has not been named the new MLB commissioner. No Spring is ever complete without sunshine, April showers, cherry blossoms, and the Dope of the Week. Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Welcome to the 2022 MLB season, baseball fans! Tab and Paul are back in the saddle, excited to finally get to the business of talking baseball... instead of talking about the business of baseball. The guys catch up on some of the enormous player movement that's shifting the landscape of the big leagues. The Oakland A's have been at the center of the baseball world for the past couple weeks, swinging three significant trades with East division teams that cause ripple effects across the two divisions. How did the trades of Chris Bassitt to the Mets, Matt Olson to the Braves and Matt Chapman to the Blue Jays impact those championship-caliber rosters? And how did the rivals of those three teams respond with their moves? What are the Minnesota Twins doing? The guys dig in on their busy offseason that included a major trade with the Yankees, adding a starter from the Reds and their blockbuster addition of star shortstop Carlos Correa. Did these moves make them better? Or are they just spinning their tires in an improving American League Central? The Twins weren't the only team in their division to spend big on a shortstop -- or the only team to break the bank on that position this winter. Fivestar shortstops signed contracts totaling almost $1 billion dollars this winter! How did these moves change the trajectories of their new teams? Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Robert Kuney. The Honchos came in like a lion on their first show for the month of March. After some movie talk, including Rob's review of The Batman, it was time for “Who Wore It Best?” For the 53rd show, the Honchos highlighted Hall of Famer Don Drysdale, who wore number 53 with the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Headlines segment featured plastic surgery gone mad, the best story from the 2022 Winter Olympics, and bizarre criminal behavior in Green Bay.The sack of sports was ripped open with some College Football Playoffs expansion talk, followed by an NFL segment that was all about the quarterbacks (and one degenerate gambler). The Honchos crushed national media outlets for their reporting on the death of Redskins (yes, Redskins) legend Charley Taylor, and then it was all about the QBs: the new Aaron Rodgers contract to stay in Green Bay, the Russell Wilson trade to Denver, and the Commanderskins trading for Carson Wentz (oy gevalt). Before leaving the NFL segment the Honchos rapped about Calvin Ridley's suspension for betting on NFL games.During the NHL/NBA/MLB segment the Honchos discussed Alex Ovechkin's obligation to speak out against Russia, the latest on the sinking ship that is the Ingleside Lakers, the end of steroid testing in MLB, and, of course, an update on the MLB Lockout, which has just caused the cancellation of another week of games. After a brief detour into the latest heart attack on a bun offerings from a burger chain that shall remain nameless, it was time for the Honchos to go out like a lamb with the Dope of the Week. Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Welcome to 2022, baseball fans! Tab and Paul jump back behind the mic to discuss the big news of January. No, not a new CBA and spring training coming in a few weeks -- the election of David Ortiz into the National Baseball Hall of Fame! We found out this week that Big Papi is the only member of the Class of 2022 voted in by the BBWAA. He'll join Tony Oliva, Jim Kaat, Minnie Miñoso, Gil Hodges, Bud Fowler and Buck O'Neil in the induction class of 2022; they were voted into the Hall by the Early Baseball Era and Golden Days Era committees. The guys look at the impact Big Papi had on and off the field as an Afro-Latino in Boston, his transition from Minnesota to becoming the face of the Red Sox, and his place as arguably the greatest DH in history. They also take some time to talk about those who didn't get in -- especially Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. Whose fault is it that they weren't voted in? Where should the anger of fans over their exclusion rest? And are their chances of ever being inducted dead and gone... or is there still a chance? We're looking forward to an exciting 2022 baseball season. Thanks for listening! Follow everywhere @linedriveradio. | All inquiries linedriveradio@gmail.com.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network.
Nuthin' But Baseball!Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast network. On Friday, the Atlanta Braves will host a parade to celebrate their World Series championship. One of the guys on LDR correctly predicted the Braves would win the World Series in six games, but how they got there was far from predictable. How did the Braves' mid-season additions pay such enormous dividends? How did they overcome the loss of their Game 1 starter and still have the better pitching staff in the series? And where do they go from here? And, on the other end of the scene, the Astros now head into a winter with Carlos Correa heading to free agency. If he, like George Springer last year, leaves for big money elsewhere, this could signal a turning point in the history of the Astros organization. What will be the legacy of this core group of Astros? The guys also paid tribute to a future Hall of Famer who called it a career this week, Giants catcher Buster Posey. He'll be on the ballot for the National Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2027, and should have enough writers checking the box for him to be in Cooperstown in five years.Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.

The American League will be decided by a series between the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros. The National League pennant will fly in wither Atlanta or Los Angeles as the Braves and Dodgers battle. The guys broke down the two LCS in depth. Paul and Tab start looking at the Braves and Dodgers. How will LA's pitching matchup after playing the wild card game and an epic, five-game series against the Giants? Will the Braves benefit from dispatching the Brewers in four games and having home field advantage (despite winning 18 fewer games during the regular season)? And who will be the X-factor in the NLCS? Paul and Tab then moved to the American League, where the storylines run deep. Alex Cora, who took a big part of the blame in the Astros' sign-stealing scandal, now manages against the team for whom he was the alleged ring-leader. Will the Astros' pitching be deep enough with Lance McCullers, Jr. being injured? And how will the Astros' potent offense stack up against a good, rested Red Sox staff? Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network.Welcome to the final week of the 2021 regular season! And what a finish we have coming. Tab and Paul started the show with a couple headlines – off the field. Iconic Dodgers Spanish language voice Jaime Jarrín announced 2022 will be his 64th and final season on the mic. He's a legend and gentleman who has been a trailblazer for Spanish language broadcasters. The guys also spent some time discussing the Mets' reported plans to rebrand this offseason. Maybe hire some good people and players and that'll help? Just a thought…Then the guys went in on the wild finish coming to the regular season. In the American League, everything is still up for grabs. The Yankees winning seven straight has propelled them into the lead in the Wild Card race, but the Seattle Mariners have crept into the picture with a hot streak of their own. Will the Red Sox get their act together and hang on? Will Toronto stop the Yankees' streak and climb back into the mix?In the National League, the teams are almost set but the order is not. Atlanta is pulling away from Philadelphia in the East with a chance to face a Milwaukee team limping to the finish. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have won 17 straight and clinched the second wild card spot on Tuesday night. They'll face either the Dodgers or Giants in the Wild Card game; the Giants will have to play without their star first baseman, Brandon Belt, who is out for a month with a broken hand. How will the dust settle? Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network. We're less than two weeks away from the end of the 2021 regular season and Major League Baseballhas officially served up a beautiful finale. On this week's episode, Tab and Paul opened up discussing theneed for more Earth, Wind and Fire in our lives and celebrated Bill Murray's birthday before chattingabout the impressive record-setting season of Kansas City's Salvador Pérez and Jon Lester reaching 200career wins. Somehow they then jumped into a discussion about Theo Epstein – should he take on therole of president of the Mets… or wait to replace Rob Manfred as commissioner? Then the guys went all-in on the remaining schedules for the playoff hopefuls in the American andNational Leagues. Entering action on Wednesday, the Red Sox and Blue Jays were in the two AL wildcard spots but the Yankees were only a half-game out. What do the Pinstripes need to do to win one ofthose spots? In the NL, the Dodgers are in the postseason and the red-hot Cardinals look like they're running awaywith the second wild card spot. But the NL East division crown is up for grabs and the Braves have toplay Philly three more times – with a three-game lead. Can the Phillies somehow rally and win thedivision? What are your predictions for the postseason? Tab and Paul put their prognosticator hats on to pick whogets in and which fans are going to turn their attentions to hockey and football next week.Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.
Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Part of the Revolver Podcast network. On this week's Line Drive Radio, Paul and Tab had their soapboxes out. Ready for two guys to save theworld and solve all of the world's problems? The guys opened the show discussing the American League Wild Card race. The Blue Jays have sprintedto the lead with their ridiculous offense over the past couple weeks. Can the Yankees and Red Sox keepup? And, more specifically, are the Yankees built to win everything now? Or do the Pinstripes need tomake significant changes on and off the field to get back to the top?In this week's The Good segment, the guys discuss Roberto Clemente Day. Seeing Yadier Molina,Francisco Lindor and Javier Baez on the field together wearing 21 was a great honor of the Puerto Ricanicon. Clemente's legacy is still as strong as ever, and the annual award that bears his name is the mostimportant individual honor handed out each year. So… why hasn't Major League Baseball retired 21across the league yet? This week's The Bad segment was once again focused on the Mets – but this time, it was on the Twitterhabits of owner Steve Cohen. A newspaper column this week said Cohen's tweeting could handicap theclub's search for new executives. So Cohen went off on the writer – and his unnamed former executivesource – on, you guessed it, Twitter. Meet the Mess! Finally, Tab offered this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Who could help you secure the bag? Giveus a listen!Follow us everywhere @linedriveradio.
Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast network. What a day for baseball fans! This week's show drops on the day four legends rightfully find their wayinto the gallery of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.Tab and Paul started the show focused on the present, but the Hall of Fame kept coming up. WanderFranco broke Mickey Mantle's record for consecutive games on base before his 21 st birthday, reachingfor the 37 th straight game on Tuesday. He's been brilliant at only 20 years old. On the other side of thecoin, the reigning NL Rookie of the Month and NL Player of the week Frank Schwindel has been great forthe Cubs as they rolled off a 7-game win streak of their own.On the day that Albert Pujols plays what might be his final game in St. Louis against Yadier Molina, thegold standard for Cardinals' catchers – Ted Simmons – will finally get his rightful place in the Hall ofFame. And just two days after Labor Day, the founding executive director of the MLBPA Marvin Millerwill finally get his place in Cooperstown as well. Both seem perfectly fitting. And on opposite ends of the voting spectrum, Larry Walker and Derek Jeter will be the two playersinducted on Wednesday. Walker, the second Canadian-born player to be voted into the Hall, joinsFerguson Jenkins as the pride of his home country. He was voted in on his tenth and final ballot. Jeter,The Captain, spent 20 years with the Yankees and defined winning for a generation. The guys close out the show with this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Need help? Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network. This week's show kicks off with a special tribute. The Pittsburgh Pirates made history 50 years ago – Sept1, 1971 – when they started an all-minority lineup. Those Pirates embraced what is great about sports:putting the best players together to succeed. They made history in a way we should celebrate today.Paul and Tab then spent time looking at the remarkable season in the American League. Wander Francois making history for the Tampa Bay Rays, reaching base in 31 straight games (and counting), the second-longest streak in AL history for a player before turning 21. The guys also tipped their caps to Royalscatcher Salvador Perez, who is having one of the best offensive seasons ever for a catcher. When the guys turned their attention to the National League, this week's mess with the Mets was frontand center. Should fans boo? Should players care? Were Javier Baez, Francisco Lindor, Kevin Pillar andothers wrong for their thumbs down “celebration” and should we care? And who is going to step up andbe a leader in that organization? The guys closed the show with their usual LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Who should you consider asyou come down the home stretch in your fantasy league? Listen to this week's episode to find out!Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.All archives at www.linedriveradio.com.

Suddenly, the Cincinnati Reds have leapedthe San Diego Padres for the second wild card spot in the National League. Can the swingin' friarsrebound with a new pitching coach? Or are their issues too deep to come back from this rough stretch. The guys then head over to the American League East to talk hot and cold. The Yankees haven't lostsince the game in Iowa and are now running away with the AL wild card lead. Are they now the team tobe in the entire American League? They'll benefit from six September games against the BaltimoreOrioles, who have lost 19 straight. The future is coming for the Orioles, but it isn't here now – they'reterrible.Tab finishes the show talking about the recent, shocking news that Fanatics will replace Topps as thelicensed producer of baseball cards. And in this week'sepisode, the guys jump into the choppy waters of the current playoff races and try to swim through thecraziness. In the American League, the Yankees, Red Sox and A's are virtually tied for the top wild card spot. TheYankees got Gerrit Cole back from the COVID list; the Red Sox added Chris Sale to their rotation. Bothcame back with a strong showing. Unfortunately, Oakland lost Chris Bassitt for the foreseeable futurethe scary scene in Chicago on Tuesday night. The initial news has been as good as could be hoped afterBassitt was hit in the face by a line drive against the White Sox.In the National League, the Braves have sprinted into first in the East thanks to incredible months fromAustin Riley, Freddie Freeman and Dansby Swanson. The Padres, on the other hand, have fallen back tothe pack and allowed the Reds and Cardinals to have hopes of a playoff berth. Joey Votto's incredibleplay – and reaching his 2,000 th career hit – have helped lead the Reds back into the wild cardconversation. Nuthin' But Baseball. Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network.Paul and Tab kicked off this week's LDR episode looking around the playoff races around Major League Baseball. In the National League, the Brewers have essentially won their division but the East and West are wide open. The Giants continue to impress with the Dodgers and Padres trying to keep up while the Phillies are trying to hold off the Mets and Braves on the other coast. As the Red Sox come back to the pack in the American League East, the Yankees and Blue Jays hope to surge into a wild card spot. But the A's are chasing down the Astros out west, making for an exciting sprint to the finish. The guys then turned their attention to the incredible scene in Dyersville, Iowa on Thursday night. The Yankees and White Sox played an exciting game in a setting that looked like a Norman Rockwell painting come to life. The aesthetics of the game were amazing – the game itself was as compelling as any regular season game between playoff-caliber teams as possible. And the walk-off winner from Chicago's Tim Anderson put an exclamation point in a marvelous night. How do the White Sox and Yankees stack up for the coming playoff chase? The guys took a look at the case for each as a potential World Series team… and identified a few things both teams need to work on down the stretch. The show closed, as always, with Tab's Fantasy Add of the Week. Who should you add in time for your fantasy playoffs to start? Give a listen to find out!
Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network. On this week's episode, Paul and Tab take a look at some of the players who changed uniforms at the deadline making an immediate impact on their new clubs. But injuries – and COVID – continue to impact teams chasing a playoff berth. The pennant races are piping hot in most divisions and the wild card conversation is getting hotter each week. The guys then discuss the youth movement coming in Anaheim. With Jo Adell, Brandon Marsh, Reid Detmers and Chris Rodriguez getting their shot at the big league level, the Angels are starting to look at what their system has developed that can help them chase a wild card this year and, more importantly, help the franchise have higher aspirations in the future.Unfortunately, a pundit overseas took a shot at baseball after the United States lost to Japan in the Olympics, saying maybe it shouldn't be called the “World Series.” Tab and Paul put him on blast and discuss the increasingly beautiful diversity in Major League Baseball. The faces of the game aren't all American-born; the best in the world come to play in MLB and the championship is celebrated across the globe. Finally, the guys offer a fresh Fantasy Add of the Week. Which legend chasing historic milestones could help your fantasy roster in the coming weeks? Listen to find out! Follow everywhere @linedriveradio
Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network. On this week's episode, Tab and Paul took a night (and maybe a stiff drink and a cigar) to unwind from the most emotional, chaotic trade deadline in MLB history. Friday was a day and a half and the final two months of the regular season are going to be crazy because of it! The guys spend some time digging in on the biggest and most active team at the deadline: the Chicago Cubs. Anthony Rizzo is now a Yankee, Kris Bryant is a Giant and Javier Báez is a Met. The World Series chapter in the history of the Cubs franchise is now written and closed. Chicago fans had a tough week but Tab offered some thoughts on how and why Cubs GM Jed Hoyer made the moves and offers some optimism for fans who think the Cubs sold too much too lightly. But the Cubs weren't the only team to swing big at the deadline. The Dodgers grabbed a couple more superstars in Max Scherzer and Trea Turner as they try to repeat. The Braves bought an entirely new outfield. The Phillies added an All-Star to their rotation and the Blue Jays acquired an ace from Minnesota.Exhale and catch up from the trade deadline with the insights and commentary on what went down and why it may have ultimately been good – and necessary – for sellers to sell and buyers to buy in this week's episode. And, as always, Tab offers his Fantasy Add of the Week. Who has a bigger opportunity to impact his job on a big league roster and your fantasy team down the stretch? Listen in to find out!Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.

Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network.Paul and Tab open this week's show with their drive around the league. Which teams will be buyers or sellers? And will the Cubs ever win another game? The guys then dig into the box and let Trevor Bauer and the Dodgers know how they feel about the scandal in Los Angeles. How did the Dodgers handle the situation? They should have done better. Bauer's absence will have an impact on the Dodgers but the organization's handling of the situation should have an impact on their fans. We're excited for Shohei Ohtani to take part in the Home Run Derby in Denver. And start as the DH for the American League in the All-Star Game. And pitch in the game. Ohtani has become must-see television. He's become more than a generational athlete – he's doing things we have never seen before and may never see again. Then the guys turned their attention to the MLB Draft. Not the 2021 Draft, which begins on Sunday. But the tenth anniversary of the 2011 Draft class that will soon become a $2 billion class. Billion with a capital B. Was that the best draft ever? It's certainly the richest! Finally, Tab offered his Fantasy Add of the Week. Who is this week's pick to click? Listen to find out! Thanks for listening. Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.
Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.Part of the Revolver Podcast Network.Paul and Tab open this week's show talking about the night's big knock-out Game 3 in the College World Series. Who ya got: Vanderbilt or Mississippi State? The boys then take a lap around the big leagues with their news and notes. Kyle Schwarber is doing some ridiculous things in Washington, breaking records for home runs in a month. And with the news that the All-Star Futures Game rosters were announced on Wednesday the guys talked about the excitement of seeing Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez in the game with two professional games under his belt (thus far). A new exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum of American History has both Paul and Tab excited. Tab had the opportunity to help start a national collecting initiative that led to the ¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues / En los barrios y las grandes ligas exhibit which opens in July in Washington D.C. It's a marvelous opportunity to explore the place baseball plays in Latino culture around the country. If you're able to check it out we highly recommend it! This week's The Good focused on Baltimore's Trey Mancini being part of the Home Run Derby. As a cancer survivor himself, Paul joined Tab in rooting for Mancini, who was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer and missed the 2020 season. But, after undergoing treatment, he has returned and was an excellent invite for the Derby this year. The Bad this week was injuries impacting the American League Central. Josh Naylor's injury over the weekend was gruesome and is the latest in a long list of hurt players in the division. Who will be left standing when the division needs a winner in September? Finally, our Fantasy Add of the Week was from the Boston Red Sox. Hunter Renfroe could help you if injuries are plaguing your roster. Give him a look!As always, thanks for listening.
