Listeners of Failing Motherhood that love the show mention:The Failing Motherhood podcast is a refreshing and much-needed show that brings together courageous women who openly share their rawest moments in motherhood. Hosted by Danielle, this podcast provides a safe space for moms to share their most intimate parenting fears and proves that we are all normal after all. In a world filled with social media highlights and societal pressures, Danielle brings it back to reality with real moms sharing real life. The interviews and advice shared on this podcast leave viewers feeling accepted, loved, and most importantly, normal.
One of the best aspects of The Failing Motherhood podcast is the genuine authenticity that Danielle brings to every episode. She engages in honest conversations with her guests and addresses topics that many moms don't talk about. She creates a community where mothers can feel heard and validated in their struggles. The vulnerability of the guests in each episode is inspiring and relatable, reminding us that we are not alone in our parenting journey.

Alongside the personal stories shared by her guests, she offers valuable takeaways and resources for moms to implement in their own lives. Whether it's advice on work-life balance, mental health, or family dynamics, Danielle brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to each episode.
While it's hard to find any negative aspects of The Failing Motherhood podcast, one potential downside could be the lack of diversity among guests. It would be beneficial to hear from a diverse range of mothers who come from different backgrounds and have different perspectives on motherhood. The stories and advice shared on this podcast are refreshing, inspiring, and offer a valuable reminder that no mom is perfect, but that's okay.

One could say with motherhood, you know what you're signing up for - but you certainly have no idea how it will feel. As a Child of Divorce and Child Protection Worker with a background in Psychology and Social Service Work, Jamie Scrimgeour thought she knew what she was signing up for as a childless bachelorette when she decided to marry a man with three kids and an ex. But as I am sure you can guess, she felt like she had no freaking idea, and quickly found herself in-over-her head. Finding a lack of resources for step moms, she created her own and now supports thousands of step moms in doing the work to show up as their best selves. In this episode, we spoke to assumptions her clients make of her and each other and unique challenges stepmoms face. She spoke to the guilt stepmoms feel in typical motherhood spaces - the things they would be shamed to say and the cycle they get into trying to prove themselves. Have you ever been told, "I HATE YOU" by your child? Or even worse "You're not coming to my birthday party!"Parents of strong-willed kids (esp. mom) can become the scapegoat for the anger they harbor, and it can lead to parents hearing things like “You don't love me”.This often causes a spiral into permissiveness to avoid conflict, anxiety, and/or a lot of self-doubt as a parent.Spoiler Alert: They don't hate you. You are gonna be pretty hard-pressed to find more honesty than what is inside this conversation! In today's episode, I have the honor of interviewing Joseph and Sarah, my clients + parents of 6- and 21-year-old daughters. Together they share the shifts that made it possible to stop triggering their daughter's defense mechanism, get on the same page, and have an approach and home full of mutual respect.Fair warning - Joseph describes himself as a blunt, "tell-it-like-it-is" kind of guy, and that is exactly what we get from him. No fluff, no sugarcoating; the real deal.He has gone from being incredibly skeptical of gentle parenting itself, let alone my program or working with me, to being on my podcast. This episode might speak deepest to Gen X'ers, dads, or any/all parents that were raised not to ask for help.
