Here it is, the culmination of all of Star Trek, after this episode we can hang up our captain's badges and retire to a simple life of bloodworm stomping. This is arguably the best Star Trek Episode in the best Star Trek show there is. It is, indeed, Klingon as hell. We cover what it teaches us about collective virtue and other more advanced takes on virtue theory. Enjoy, or experience bij! “This is how history went after McCoy changed it … Because ALL this lets them develop the A-bomb first. With the A-bomb & with their V2 rockets to carry them, Germany captured the world.” - Spock, from the Star Trek Episode, “The City on the Edge of Forever.”In this episode we look at one of the most common “What If?” questions in history: the plausibility of the Axis powers (specifically Germany) winning the Second World War. Also, probably the most complicated. Could Germany have been better off waiting to start the war? What if Hitler's strategic errors are removed from the equation? Was the Allied victory inevitable? While these and other questions at first glance to make such counterfactual assessments a rabbit hole way too deep, when the nature of the Second World War is examined closely and longstanding historical patterns in warfare are kept in mind, the reasoning for the Allied victory becomes clear and, consequently, potential paths the Axis powers could have taken for a different outcome.

Is that the title of a Star Trek Episode? I know there's a Tomorrow is Yesterday and All our Yesterdays. The title refers to the fact that we recorded this on Friday, but I'm putting it out on Saturday. I'm writing this on Saturday, but we recoded this yesterday, so I can't remember everything we talked about. I know we talked about a couple of tragedies that have happened recently. We also talked about Maddie's upcoming PhD defence. Friday shopping, might be ok. Oh you might hear a little Jon in the background

#Determinismus #StarTrek #Podcast #StarTrekPodcast #StrangeNewWorlds

Video Version https://vimeo.com/687434120 About the Podcast The business response to COVID has seen that many employees are able to work (and manage) from the comforts of their home (or wherever) while those whose physical presence is required have no such option. In this episode, JP, Mule, and our guests talk about the benefits and risks of working remotely; more specifically, the "Knowledge Workers" can work remotely, but the "Wrench Turners" still have to come to where the production happens. Is there a risk of creating (or amplifying) a culture (work and social) that has defined classes; the elites and workers? How can those calling the shots understand and be empathetic with what is happening with those on the front line? What is the peril of such occurring, what are the signs, and how can it be avoided? Discuss. (Inspired by the Star Trek Episode; The Cloud Minders.)
If you came here looking for a Star Trek Episode then… Sike!!! But we do talk for a minute about Psych, which has appearances from both George Takei and William Shatner. See how we bring it around? This week the guys, without planning it, mostly talk about older shows or shows they've already talked about. Don't worry, that makes it no less interesting. Sadly, it doesn't make it any MORE interesting, either. Kevin starts by talking about a show he's already watched and then recommends someone else's podcast. Look, we're here to spread the love. Don't hate! Everything spirals from here and the guys end up here on memory lane for most of their watching. But don't worry, it's a fun Sunday drive! The show finishes with a monster sized LOST discussion, as the guys are working towards the 3 part finale. Those week has the guys covering episodes 19-22 and it's a lot of information. These fools are sucked in now. They don't know what they're in for! This is a long one, but if you make it through, you deserve a prize. We aren't giving them away, but go ahead and grab a quarter and head to your local bowling alley. One of those machines by the front doors will have the perfect prize! As always, thanks for watching and/or listening. We're doing our best. That's right. Your getting our best. We'd apologize but our egos are just too big. Have a great week and tell your friends we're very funny and very handsome and that they should listen. Sure it's a lie, but if you can't punk your friends once in a while, are they really your friends?

We the People Here in the USA we have our Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Those in charge say they are carrying it out to the letter. But like the folks in an old Star Trek Episode, it seems like many have forgotten what it actually says. At least the folks in the Star Trek Episode were just ignorant, but I am not so sure that those in power today are innocent in what they are doing to We the People's Freedom. So I got a question for you Baby Boomers. Weren't we the ones that said, “Question ALL Authority” & “Don't trust anyone over 30?” What happen to US? We became THEM.|Well, it's Time to Revive and Wake Up American! Baby Boomers before our Freedoms are gone and so that our children and children's children can enjoy the freedom so hard found for Please Listen in Today.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Commander Data, Geordi LaForge, that big dummy Will T. Riker, First Contact, and Tom Hardy the Nemesis This week the guys are joined by the fabulous Mary for our first (definitely not last) Star Trek Episode! We discuss The Next Generation the show, all the “TNG” movies, a bit of the Kelvin universe and we even pay a slight homage to the original show. We breakdown where our love of Star Trek originated, why we still love it and why it is the best. We talk episodes we love, our favorite characters and some very confusing feelings initiated by the Borg Queen. So join us on this journey through space, the final frontier. Mary, cause she's awesome, has an amazing Crispy Gem recommendation. Tuck and Ryan, cause they are lazy, steal one recommendation from a listener so check it out! This episode has all of the hallmarks of a classic Star Trek Episode: philosophy, romance, comedy, technobabble, twists, turns, and phallic stalactites. Lucinda and Ellie dive into this celestial adventure.
The actor who will always be Spock chatted with me back in 2009 about his days with a small LA theater company, The Star Trek Episode, Naked Time plus appearing for JJ Abrams in the Star Trek movie and Fringe.
