Today on the show I have the 2022 IBJJF No Gi World Middle and Absolute Champion, Elisabeth Clay. Elisabeth is a professional jiu-jitsu athlete as well as a black belt under Osvaldo Moizinho (Queixinho) and Samir Chantre, who represents the Ares BJJ Association. A prodigy at the age of 16, the (then) Alaska-based athlete conquered the ADCC West Coast Trials (2017). Elisabeth continued her rise to the top of the grappling ladder during the years that followed, conquering numerous important titles on the IBJJF amateur circuit while also having successful runs as a professional in events such as Who's #1, Fight 2 Win, SUBVERSIV, and many more. This week on the show Maine and Miranda recap EUG #4 and Subversiv 7 Battle of the Brands.In the News section of the show we discuss the upcoming ADCC  Asian and oceanic trials taking place this coming week as well as Elder Cruz receiving his black belt after the 2022 World Championships.In the recap selection of the show we discussed the middleweight 180 lb tournament for EUG,  featuring exciting matchups between Levi Jones Leary,  Manuel Ribimar, and Ronaldo Jr.  We discussed the final match between Rolando and Levi, and discussed some interesting rule changes for the event including a double guard pull come to top rule that awards the top player two points. We discussed how this rule can potentially work to push action when combined with other rules. In the David Garmo vs Kody Steele we discuss the dynamism and pressure and aggressive style of Steel’s wrestling game coupled with his great passing and top game, we weigh this against the guillotine attempt from Garmo and discuss the split decision. We discuss the passing game and finishing sequence from John Combs in his Submission of the Night performance, and Andrew Tackett moving to black belt opponents in no-gi. Plus Maine talks about wanting to attend more rules meetings. In the preview section of the show we discuss Craig Jones Vs Mason Fowler 3 again this time on the correct week we discuss how this match could play out based on the rule set and what from the previous matches may be a factor in this one. We postulate on if the cage will be a factor and if Mason will try to make it to overtime and work face cranks again. Vi möter the grand old lady bland danska DJs, Katrine Ring i Köpenhamn, som i 25 år remixat jazzfunk och klassisk musik i DJ-kollektivet Vibezone. Hon startade som musiker i ett danskt punkband. Hon har arrangerat jazzdanskvällar i Odense, skrivit bok om dansk klubbkultur och barnbok om djur i Rom.  - Det handlar om att välja musik och sätta samman styckena, säger Katrine Ring som taktmixar t ex Bach i jazztappning med Wagner. DJ Mix-plattan gjorde hon för Yellow Lounge och Deutsche Grammophone gav ut den. Där lät hon t ex ett piano klinga in över Wagners förspel till Parcifal. Svenske pianisten Anders Widmark både arrangerade och spelade. Katrine Ring kan fixa fram 50 stycket olika pris-fanfarer på en dag och 2009 fick hon göra en s k rekonstruktion av ett valfritt stycke av danska tonsättaren Vagn Holmboe.   Maria Gerhardt i Köpenhamn har lånat namn av den modernistiska, queera författarinnan. DJ Djuna Barnes kommer ur de husockuperande ungomsrevoltörerna i Köpenhamn och var en av de mest eftertraktade på klubbarna i Danmark. Hon berättar musikaliska historier med årgångsmusik och det nyaste coola. Gärna i melankoliska, mörka sjok. DJ Djuna Barnes spelade i Tokyo och i New York. I Köpehamn spelade hon 2-3 gånger i veckan på ställen som Vega, Culture Box, Dunkel och Jolene. -Jag vet hur man får igång en fest och så tycker jag om att bestämma, säger DJ Djuna Barnes. Ultrakontroll och dominans! Det är jag som skruvar upp volymen. Ni höjer händerna i vädret när jag skruvar ner den. Skruvar jag upp basen går ni helt amok, säger DJ Djuna Barnes. Sex dagar innan hennes död utkom hennes sista och mycket rosade verk, Transfervindue, Transferfönster som hon tillsammans med sin redaktör gjorde klar i den sjkhussäng hon hade fått hem till huset i Hellerup och under den allra sista tiden på palliativ avdeling på Bispebjerg Hospital i Köpenhamn.   DJ Gavana har grekiskt påbrå, är doktor i antropologi och älskar fingertoppskänslan av vinyl. Favoritmusik är steppas dub, en politiskt subversiv musik med rötter i Jamaica och Leeds. Anna Gavanas upplevde 11 september i New York och sin brors död nästan samtidigt. - Då bestämde jag mig, säger Anna Gavanas. Engagemanget i teknologi och i musik överskrider genuskategorier, sexualitet, etnicitet, sociala grupperingar och hierarkier. Man förenas i ett sammanhang där alla dansar som en organism.
