While running her own business, she had the pleasure of working alongside highly innovative and talented creatives throughout the industry and beyond. In launching Jen Taylor Consulting, she made it her mission to help creatives build streamlined workflows, processes, and procedures so they can grow their business and spend their time on what they love most — their craft, their family, and their life. Jen's systematic knowledge of the inner workings of creative businesses has brought her to national stages and major industry publications. The Coronavirus pandemic caused a shock to the grocery retail sector like none we've seen before. But with great challenges, often come great innovations. Technology now plays a bigger role in the average consumer's shopping experience than ever before and the changes we were all forced to make have opened the doors to even more innovation in the future. In this episode of the Table Talk podcast, Stefan Gates is joined by two experts to look at how technology has altered the grocery shopping landscape, and how it could shape its future too. They look at the biggest technological successes in the sector, as well as the biggest failures - the big winners and losers of the past few years. Will QR codes still play a key role a decade from now? How can mobile apps transform the shopping experience? Will automation become the norm? And what could all of the above mean for employment, data protection, and the price of food? Will blockchain develop to become the backbone of the grocery retail sector? Or will it be left looking like little more than a broken promise? Will the Metaverse become the new digital hypermarket? Or will it be consigned to the trash can? And which technological advances will we and won't we still be talking about in 10 years' time? Mike Watkins, Head of Retailer and Business Insight, Nielsen IQ Mike is Head of Retailer and Business and Insight for Nielsen IQ in the UK and is responsible for commercial development with food, non-food and e-commerce retailers. Event Tech Talks' episode 3, series 2 sees host Adam Parry talking to Joel Olandesca, creator/co-founder of the self-explanatory SOS Charging Solutions and, topically, SOS WebAR, which is a browser route to immersive augmented reality and all its commercial potential. With a background in mobile technology, marketing and the money side of the events world, along with prominent positions at the ILEA, Joel Olandesca is another perfect fit for the programme. Talking from his Calgary base, where it's -25°c, incidentally, Joel fields Adam's quickfire ‘who are you' questions before digging into what augmented reality means for the events industry, how it's used, how SOS is working with clients to integrate AR activations, what the future holds for the technology and more besides.

Today we are joined by Jen Taylor to discuss some of the most important things for your business, the unsexy parts of business, the Systems for Success. About our Guest: Jennifer Taylor is the owner and founder of Taylor'd Event Group, a leading event planning company that serves local and destination clients in Washington State and Maui, HI. She is also the principal of Jen Taylor Consulting, a consulting firm that works with creative businesses of all sizes to implement streamlined workflows and organized systems to find more time and space for business growth and personal development. Owner and founder of Taylor'd Events, Jennifer Taylor carries over 15 years of wedding planning and has earned a wealth of knowledge throughout her career. While running her own business, she had the pleasure of working alongside highly innovative and talented creatives throughout the industry and beyond. She noticed that many creatives are predominantly right-brained—wildly imaginative and expressive, but missing the necessary structure to create logical systems in their companies. She has spoken at conferences like The Special Event, NACE Experience, and ILEA, as well as chapter-based events for NACE, The Wedding Network, ABC, and Western Washington University. Her expertise has also graced the pages of WeddingWire EDU, Special Events, Catersource, Book More Brides, Honeybook, and Wedding Planner Magazine. Outside of work, you can typically find her traveling throughout the West Coast or in Maui — the two markets her company serves for destination events. She also has a penchant for cooking and can often be found sipping on a refreshing glass of wine. Carlo Zoccali talks about the Farnborough footprint facilitating everything from exhibitions and experiential events through to conferences and product launches in its new meeting room portfolio, re-connecting people in 2022, audience-driven demand, niche events, elevating experiences and contemporary delivery.

When is it the right time to hire an employee versus contract workers? Does a Business Plan have to be written? These questions and many more are answered on today's podcast, with special guest Michelle Loretta With a degree in accounting, it seemed like Michelle had her career laid out for her when she began working in the corporate world at companies like Deloitte and Coach. It wasn't until she started a stationery business in 2004 that she discovered what many already knew at the time: The events industry was chockful of incredibly talented creatives, but few had the business experience to truly understand the strategy behind running a sustainable company. After spending a few years immersed in the industry, Michelle started a blog in 2009 aimed at educating fellow event professionals in the business of weddings. Be Sage Consulting quickly took off as it was one of the first B2B resources specifically tailored to creatives who wanted to become better entrepreneurs. Since then, her business has developed into a consultancy, and she now works one-on-one with event pros to adjust and redefine their business strategies. Be Sage Consulting also hosts an annual Be Sage Conference, which welcomes creative entrepreneurs from around the world for a weeklong mastermind on all things business.Michelle was named one of the Top 1000 Event Professionals by BizBash Magazine in 2019. Her thought leadership has carried over to her professional speaking circuit, where she has been asked to speak at numerous national conferences including The Special Event, WeddingWire World, NACE Experience, POSH Retreat, ABC, and BizBash Live, as well as local chapter meetings for WIPA and ILEA. She is also a regular contributor to Wedding Business Magazine and has been featured on Planners Lounge, WeddingIQ, Aisle Planner, and countless other industry publications. One of the most popular episodes of The Wedding Business Solutions Podcast is “The Difference Between Branding and Your Brand.” In that episode I talked about how your brand is what people say about you after they've experienced what you do. That doesn't mean that branding isn't important, it's just different than your brand. So, to complete the topic I invited my friend, and fellow WeddingPro Educator, Kaleigh Wiese to come on and discuss branding, which is her expertise. Kaleigh Wiese is an endless creator, visual branding educator, entrepreneur, and public speaker. She has worked her entire career helping creatives find their visual voice. Her focus remains on branding and providing resources + services to help small businesses share their companies uniqueness visually. She also is a longtime event business owner, founding Méldeen in 2008, a luxury event branding and paper goods company focused on designing unique touch-points throughout event experiences.Through her work, she has been featured in The Huffington Post, The New York Times, Enterpreneur, Fortune, Martha Stewart Weddings, Grace Ormonde and has shared trends at Wedding Pro Workshops (The Knot & Wedding Wire), Wedding MBA, WIPA, ILEA and other niche creative workshops across the country offering tips for growing your business through visual marketing. In 2021, she continues her primary focus of sharing her message of strategic brand techniques across the country through one-on-one brand audits, online courses, free webinars and her membership community Brand Magic Society. When she's not on the go, you can find her at home in Austin, Texas experimenting in the kitchen, with a book in hand or boating with her husband, Michael, and their two rescue pups, Charlie and Jack. For her free color theory guide, other design-focused resources and upcoming dates you can visit www.KaleighWiese.comSocial Handle: @gokaleigh: www.instagram.com/gokaleighIf you have any questions about anything in this, or any of my podcasts, or have a suggestion for a topic or guest, please reach out directly to me at Alan@WeddingBusinessSolutions.com or visit my website Podcast.AlanBerg.comPlease be sure to subscribe to this podcast and leave a review (thanks, it really does make a difference).
