I am watching the Taubman Technique videos. Actually, I am absolutely consuming this material. Friends, it's what you are searching for in giving freedom and new levels to your playing.  On those tapes, there is an interesting quote of Dorothy Taubman some of which appears in the publicly available documentary, The Choreography of the Hands. (We have it available on the Golandsky Institute YouTube channel). She says something to the effect that teachers must provide answers and direction to these sincere, talented and earnest people who are studying the piano. It seems that Taubman really wanted to provide answers to students. Like for example, how do you put your finger on the key? Why do you get really tired playing? How do you play scales? How do you move in an arpeggio? The Taubman Approach through the Golandsky Institute and its certified teachers has answers. The Taubman Approach has solutions for jazz pianists. It opens up possibilities never seen before. Today's guest, jazz pianist Adam Klipple, gives us a window into the artistic freedom that this paradigm can give. Listen to the full episode because we talk about a ton of amazing ideas. And - Adam on a fun departure from the conversation, heads to the piano and plays! Wow. “The body is capable of fulfilling all pianistic demands without a violation of its nature if the most efficient ways are used; pain, insecurity, and lack of technical control are symptoms of incoordination rather than a lack of practice, intelligence, or talent."Dorothy TaubmanAdam Klipple is a student of John BloomfieldVisit Adam Klipple's website at: https://adamklipple.com/Adam Klipple, who has been described as "a standout pianist who has gone to school on McCoy Tyner and Cecil Taylor and earned his degree," plays piano, Hammond organ, sampler, and a variety of vintage keyboards. He currently records and performs with Veronica Swift, and is a member of the legendary jazz rock band Blood, Sweat & Tears.Adam has recorded and performed onstage with the likes of Ghostface Killah, Lauryn Hill, Graham Haynes, the Sun Ra Arkestra, Craig Harris, Joe Bowie's Defunkt, Sekou Sundiata, Marc Ribot, John Medeski, Kurt Rosenwinkle, Carla Cook, Dave Fiuczynski, David Gilmore, Josh Roseman, Peter Apfelbaum, Jay Rodriguez, Groove Collective, and Smokey Robinson. He has appeared at renowned venues including the Blue Note, Iridium, the Jazz Standard, Blues Alley, and the Knitting Factory, and at jazz festivals around the world. Also a composer and arranger, Adam has earned grants from Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, Arts International, Meet the Composer, and the U.S. Department of State, enabling him to tour and teach master classes in southeast Asia, the Pacific Rim, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. The Golandsky Institute's mission is to provide cutting-edge instruction to pianists based on the groundbreaking work of Dorothy Taubman. This knowledge can help them overcome technical and musical challenges, cure and prevent playing-related injuries, and lead them to achieve their highest level of artistic excellence. Please visit our website at: www.golandskyinstitute.org.

Millwall were handed a third straight league defeat by Burnley as they were beaten 2-0 at Turf Moor.Second half goals from Vitnho and Jay Rodriguez secured the hosts' their first home win of the season after three draws on their own patch. The defeat extended Millwall's winless run to ten away from home.Zian Flemming and Andreas Voglsammer were both handed full debuts as part of three changes made to the side that lost 1-0 at home to Reading last Saturday. Charlie Cresswell was the third change.Vincent Kompany's side came close early on, former Charlton man Joann Berg Gudmundsson firing a shot into the side netting. Bart Bialkowski was forced into a save from Nathan Tella's shot on 12 minutes. We nearly got to see a stunning debut goal from Flemming but Arijanet Muric used bis full frame to keep out the Dutchman's effort. Bialkowski then had to prevent Josh Brownhill's free kick from flying into the net.Into the second half and Flemming was set through by Tom Bradshaw but Muric denied him.Cresswell hit the post after Jake Cooper's header back into the box fell to his defensive partner but the post denied him a third goal of the season.Burnley took the lead just after the hour mark. Benson's cross was headed in at the back post by Vitnho. They doubled their lead in the 72nd minute. Brownhill's shot was parried by Bialkowski straight into the path of Rodriguez who reacted quickest to make it 2-0.Benik Afobe missed a great chance to halve the deficit but, he failed to get on the end of Cooper's knockdown. It means the Lions have now lost their last three game without scoring. As well as Andrew Tackett vs Rene Sousa, that saw Tackett impose his wrestling and top game and pathing to the back. We talked about the top and back position control that Giancarlo Bodoni had vs Jay Rodriguez and how Jay was able to put up his own impressive offense at the end of the match. We talked about Big Dan Manasoiu breaking Tristan Overvig leg in a heel hook, and the rest of the prelim matches includig “the Sewer Rat” Spencer Fossier vs Mike Rakshan, and Fabian Ramirez vs Max Hanson.Plus we ranted about Kyle Chambers vs Izaak Michell that was scheduled in possibly one of the worst ways possible for a no time-limit submission-only match, and how the match was cut from broadcast 90 minutes in for the WNX Finale. The Championship, League 1 and League 2 are hotbeds of young talent in England. Not only have we seen talent in promoted sides thrive, but transfers up for the likes of Michail Antonio, Ollie Watkins, Jarrod Bowen, James Maddison, Jay Rodriguez, Joe Gomez, John Stones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tim Cahill, Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale were all success stories, so there's some pretty good historical basis for players making the jump. So we're making this one a staple, and bringing back our old friend Ali Maxwell from Not the Top 20 Podcast and The Athletic's Football Tactics Podcast to talk to us about some of the most exciting talents in the EFL who we might well be seeing on the biggest stages in football at some point in the near future. We start with a look back at Ali's calls from last year, which included Rico Henry, Josh Da Silva and Michael Olise - before heading on to some of the names from this campaign - taking a look at Blackburn's Ben Brereton Diaz, Coventry City's Callum O'Hare, Stoke City's Harry Souttar, Luton Town's Elijah Adebayo and MK Dons' Matt O'Riley and what stage each of them are currently at. As ever, there's time for Things We Love, where Sam talks João Félix's masterclass against Barcelona at the weekend, and Jack discusses a weekend of shock results across Europe and the reverberations they could cause. Dean phones in a Melon of the Week and we finish with a Gibberish that could get Sam in some trouble at home. It's Ranks! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Montreal metalcore outfit Suicide For A King are gearing up to drop their four track EP Corrupted Vision on July 30. With a unique sound courtesy of the emo-esque punctuated by harsh and confronting vocals flowing from frontman Jay Rodriguez, Suicide For A King have produced a collection of songs that typifies the direction the band is heading while forcing you to take notice. Rodriguez sat down with HEAVY during the week to discuss the new music. "It's a short EP,” he offered, “and it's a fast EP. Youre gonna find a lot of variety in the songs. We've got two short songs and we've got two long songs - over 5 minutes - so I think you're gonna be able to see that we can be really aggressive and fast but also that we can explore different things, especially for the last song that's gonna come out. People are going to be able to see what we can do.” The press release calls Corrupted Vision a darker album than previous releases, with Rodriguez nodding in agreement at the appraisal. “I think with the image and the lyrics for the songs we wanted to make it a little conceptual,” he measured. “I know a couple of the songs talk about challenges over yourself and life so we wanted to present these things with the image of the album.” In the full interview, Jay talks about each song and its meaning, his idea for the band when he joined in 2019, his vocals on the EP and how the contrast works, how difficult it is to perform two almost opposing vocal parts, the concepts and themes of the EP and how they relate to Suicide For A King and more.

No one wants to be mediocre, but a lot of loan officers allow themselves to stay in underwhelming positions because it’s comfortable. How can you stop allowing yourself to tolerate struggle? What will allow you to see real freedom? On this episode, success story and Mortgage Marketing Coach student, Jay Rodriguez is here to share what pushed him toward greatness.     Unless you have the determination, you won’t execute your goals. -Jay Rodriguez   Takeaways Too many people tolerate struggling because they believe it to be normal. What you tolerate, you endorse. So make sure you’re not endorsing something that holds you back from greatness. Focus on who you are, why you’re here, and what your purpose is. You need to have a keen sense of self and goals to be able to push through to greatness. Stop thinking you have to do it all. If you choose not to build a team that allows you to step back, you’re doing yourself a disservice. By being a control freak, you lose all sense of freedom.   At the start of the episode, Jay shared how he got started in the industry. After explaining that he was overworking and staying in something that made him unhappy, Jay started talking about his shift towards building a business he wanted that brought him fulfillment and phenomenal success.   We also discussed: The power of peturbence Why you need to decide you must win That you should be using technology to make your life easier Despite the wealth of great technologies and the expertise of others, loan officers continue to complicate their journeys to success. The reality is, while it’s certainly not easy to achieve greatness, the ability to achieve it lies within ourselves. Stop telling yourself it’s okay to be mediocre: you can rise to the top. All it takes is work and determination.   Guest Bio After seeing some success in the mortgage industry since getting his license in 2010, Jay Rodriguez believed he was in a reasonably good position. However, his burning desire for more sparked a passion within him to move on to bigger things. Since joining the Mortgage Marketing Coach program, Jay went from $1.5M/month to $4.43M/month. Today, he’s happier than ever in all aspects of his life and healthier than ever before.  To find out more about Jay, head to: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rodriguezjay

If you think you have to sell your current home in order to buy your next one, a bridge loan or a cross-collateralization loan can help you buy now without going through that process.Buying a home? Click here to perform a full home searchSelling a home? Click here for a FREE Home Price Evaluation Check out my YouTube channel here!Recently, a client of mine who’s getting ready to put their home on the market found the home they want to purchase next. It’s a beautiful home and it’s exactly what they’re looking for, but when I made the call to the home’s listing agent to tell them about our offer, they told us the home already had two other offers. My client’s original offer was contingent on the sale of their current home, but they didn’t want to let this opportunity pass by, so we elected to pursue a couple of alternative loan options that will allow them to buy the home now without needing to sell their current home first: the bridge loan and the cross-collateralization loan. What are these loans? How can they help you if you’re in a similar situation as a buyer? Today I’ve brought in Jay Rodriguez of New American Funding to answer these questions for you. With a bridge loan or a cross-collateralization loan, you won’t need to sell your current home first in order to buy your next one. First, a bridge loan is a form of short-term financing that’s available on a single property. Essentially, it allows you to receive funds from a property you already own and repurpose it for, say, buying another home. Keep in mind that not every lender can offer a bridge loan, though. A cross-collateralization loan allows you to buy a property while using one or more other properties you already own as collateral. This is especially helpful if your equity is tied up in the home you’re trying to sell. With this loan, you can put liens against both properties and leverage the equity of the property you already own to buy the new one without going through the hassle of selling it first. If you have any more questions about these loan types, don’t hesitate to reach out to Jay or me. We’d love to help you.
