Trinity United Methodist Church of Loveland, CO - Sermon Podcast
When we look at the faces of those we've lost, it's easy to feel like we're letting them down or that our church isn't what it used to be. But the saints who came before us aren't judging us—they've been perfected in grace and now cheer us on with Christ's love. Their presence reminds us that we're still part of the same story, still running the race God has set before us.

A game show and a few famous quarterbacks help reveal a powerful truth: greatness isn't always where we expect it. Drawing from Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 12, we explore how God gives every person unique spiritual gifts meant for the good of all, not just a chosen few. It's a reminder that what's inside — the heart, the Spirit's work — is what truly makes us great.

Send us a topic!!!!The unspoken second shift begins the moment you walk through the door after work. In this thought-provoking episode, Siobhan and Lala challenge the widespread mindset that clocking out from your job means your responsibilities end. They dive deep into the dynamics of household partnerships when both people work outside the home, examining why some partners (often men) expect to relax while others continue managing the home front. The hosts explore the psychology behind these expectations, tracing them back to childhood experiences and "mommy issues" where some men expect their partners to step into caretaker roles previously filled by their mothers. They emphasize that true partnership means understanding that household responsibilities continue regardless of who's more tired—laundry, dishes, childcare, and quality time don't disappear just because someone had a long day at work.Beyond household duties, Siobhan and Lala examine parenting dynamics when others help with childcare. They stress the importance of maintaining parental authority while accepting assistance, ensuring everyone understands the difference between helping with childcare and attempting to override parental decisions. This conversation highlights the delicate balance of accepting support while establishing clear boundaries about who makes the ultimate decisions for your children.Throughout the episode, the hosts emphasize that meaningful relationships require more than just communication—they demand active listening and genuine empathy. As they put it, "Are you listening to understand or just waiting to respond?" Their candid perspectives offer valuable insights for anyone navigating the complex balance of work, family responsibilities, and meaningful partnerships. What obstacles do you face in creating fair household dynamics? Share your experiences in the comments and join the conversation about building more balanced relationships.Support the show

We hit the season 2 midpoint! IRL, Joe has finally finished some Gundam and gets to talk about it, while Sarah has warmed up to her puppy, despite the cord chewing. In Chihayafuru, we continue in team play. First we finish our game against Megumu and the all girls school. Chihaya's game is pretty back and forth, but don't worry about Tsutomu might clutch it out! Then we move on to the finals and meet Fujisaki, a team with the worst dudes on it to date. Unbelievable.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work - if the Beer Tastes Great! Josh & Angie Grenz, Owners of Verboten Brewing and Barrel Project in Loveland, and Verboten North Brewpub in Fort Collins. I met Josh and Angie Grenz in the early months of their opening their first Verboten location in a quiet industrial park in Loveland, and Angie actually came to the very first organizational meeting for the first LoCo Think Tank chapter - before I had come up with the name! She didn't join, and hasn't yet - but I remain hopeful. We've stayed in touch over the years, and reconnected more properly last year when they opened their second location in what had been Black Bottle Brewery in Fort Collins - which closed the fall before. Verboten means forbidden in German, and their selection of beers mostly has one thing in common - they use ingredients that would have been forbidden under historic German purity laws - which basically means you can have lager and you will love it! Sours and Porters and Wine-Barrel aged Stouts and you name it - they've done it - and probably won a prestigious medal for it! Josh and Angie eventually moved to a great downtown location in Loveland, and the Verboten North is at the corner of Prospect and College in Fort Collins. This is a journey of starting small, focusing on the product and the people, and growing into a regional brand. In an industry that has experienced decline in recent years, Verboten continues to grow - and it's due to hard work and smart decisions by Josh and Angie and their dedicated teams. So please enjoy, as I did - my conversation with Josh and Angie Grenz. The LoCo Experience Podcast is sponsored by: Purpose Driven Wealth Thrivent: Learn more

Manchester City aren't out of it yet, but they were taught a lesson in Paris by a young side that have none of their predecessor's traits. PSG fought as a team to come back from 0-2 down and, in many ways, this is sad because we can no longer laugh at them. We can laugh at Bayern, if that's something you'd like to do. They were beaten by Feyenoord and may not get one of those nice automatic passes. Arsenal probably will do though, they beat Zagreb comfortably enough. Minister Curry delivers an impassioned message about the importance of teamwork, humility, and how to be the best teammate in this upcoming season.
On the next Treasured Truth, as we conclude this study on teamwork, Pastor Ford will explain what the priority of our commitments should be. Our first commitment is to our Sovereign. Our second is to the saints—or fellow believers. And the third is to the service of our Lord, in that order. If the service is messing up the saints, then it’s messing up our commitment to the Sovereign and whatever the service is, it should be stopped in order to preserve the other commitments, which are the higher priority.
